Absolute incompetent and rude employees at the Appliance department. They do not coordinate properly with their delivery partner. Store says the appliance will be delivered on a certain date, delivery people doesn’t show up and cancels the order without any notification for the customer. Store calls a week later and confirms the order was canceled and only option is to issue a refund. No apologies for the inconvenience.Note for management: listen to the appliance department’s outgoing call records if you have it. Date 10/14/2022, time 8:53am, caller Anitha/Jerry.
People are very friendly and helpful except for store in Detroit on Meyers.
Purchasing some things for home winterizing. The first young lady I spoke to for information told me I DONT KNOW, with much aditude, like leave me alone. Wish I remembered her name, cause Id definitely post it. She just didnt care and shouldnt be there. Every other employee I came in contact with were very helpful. Thank you to all of them.
One of the best place to get what you need , thank you Sassine and tara, you are so helpful and great ❤️
had everything I needed employees were very pleasant
Do not go here if you need assistance! Student and department for 30 minutes three Home Depot people walk by and when I asked him for help they all said it was not their department!
Love this store always has what I am looking for and the staff is very helpful
This store is terrible. The employees actively avoid you when you’re trying to get assistance and recommend the wrong products constantly.I just walked home with a 60 pound car battery that I was assured was the correct one multiple times only to find out it wa s clearly the wrong one. There is zero point in shipping at this location since there is a Lowes in the same parking lot.
Staff was VERY helpful as I asked to find stuff I needed. The self checkout lady was also very kind as I needed assistance there also 🤷♀️
The Madison Heights location has tenured employees who know where everything is located at in the store, are quick to help a customer, and help people leave with that feeling that you got that extra special treatment as a shopper and an unmistakable customer service experience!
This store is the busiest of any Home Depot being just off I75. You can still check out fast with there help at the registers they have people their to guide you.
All of the employees were friendly, but Jeff went above and beyond for us! Thank you for taking care of us while we were in the store.
All there plants that were 1/2 off which was a Big Majority! You could tell who ever they Hired for Garden dept..killed them plants they were so DRY ..If you blew on them theyd turn to dust..Its sad cause some of those plants are very Beautiful..Sad but you Get what you pay for...and $15 an hour doesnt mean anything anymore..Pay needs to go up..before the Recession hits.
Employees are too busy and shorthanded to be of much help. Found what we needed eventually. Friendly checkout.
Terrible customer service! Called to schedule an installation of the ceiling fan I purchased a month ago. Took 25 rings for the service desk to pick up. Then they put me on hold for another 20 minutes before transferring me to the wrong department. The next transfer was to another employee who stated that HD didnt offer that service when, in fact, there were advertisements in the lighting department that indicated it was offered. Finally, after being transferred to yet another employee, my call was disconnected. This is why I will likely never go back.
Ashley helped me out so much. Really needed some materials that they had in the back boxes up… nobody wanted to get it for us but ASHLEY asked us what we needed and made it happen… she is a BO$$ B for sure!!!!!!
It was kinda frustrating trying to get help, but there are some good employees that try. I know everyone is on edge now and that makes it even worse. Thank you Home Depot employees!
If you want a piece of wood cut wait an hour before somebody can figure out what theyre doing there
This used to be my local Home Depot. As other reviewers have mentioned, the checkout lines can get really long. I usually shop here when I dont need assistance and know what I am doing.During my recent visit, I was looking for a specific landscaping rock, which they did not have in stock. Their plants were on sale so I bought a jalapeño plant for $1.
This use to be my favorite home depot. Not any more. Waited this morning for at least 20 minutes at the paint counter to finally be told their system was down and they couldnt mix paint. Whats wrong with a sign people? Several employees were trying to get me help and finally someone walked over and told me that. Terrible communication.
Its a given that Covid has affected the hiring & staffing of able competent employees as well as various challenges to scheduling at many businesses. That said, my view of what makes an ably competent employee applies across the board to all businesses involving the public. When one was hired in the 1970s & 80s, especially for a sales/clerk or reception job, they were given orientation training in proper manners, appearance, company policy & knowledge of what was being offered for purchase. These jobs were respectable, decently paid positions way back then.Apparently now a days, its assumed employees that merely show up is the only standard required. Even pre-Covid, it was difficult to find an employee wherever I shopped & even rarer if they knew or could answer simple questions or bother to find out.My 1st job at 16 was at Sears in sporting goods, my 2nd was selling designer suits & footwear at Hudons. There was no excuse to be surly, indifferent, rude, uninformed or to be yapping on personal calls whilst attending a customer. When I go to brick & morter stores I expect some level of competent assistance. The few businesses still standing would benefit greatly by better training & management, rather than lose sales by the too common attitude that asking a question is an imposition & customers are an annoying impediment to someones job. I give creds to Menards for their better & more helpful employees but Im about fed up with Home Depot & Lowes . The apathy, ignorance and indifference at both these chains is incomprehensible and inexcusable.
This was my go to store for many years ,I had a very uneasy experience today , I experience racist behavior for the first time with employees I never seen before first , one guy in isle next to the paint walk past me & the guy next to me he ask him do he need help he say no he look at me & walk away , second check out time I came to the store 3hrs ago I come back the lady say she cant take my tax ID # without ID I was just here & the guy didnt give me no hassle, the lady manager was terrible she say O well Im not taking it, I still then payed and she make a wise crack as Im leaving, I use to love this location. Lowes next door Ill tell my people to go there for now on.
Much more organized than most home depots and a helpful staff to put I feel like I had a better experience at this home Depot then I usually do at home Depot.
This 5-star rating is directly due to one employe: Marcus waters. He was extremely helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. He offered other products that may help and wasn’t pushy. He literally made our day I went back to grab his name for this review. Thank you Marcus!
Very disorganized place, need better management, went there to buy heavy-duty till boxes , online states there was 3 in-store - took an hour just to find them and lines are ridiculous long
Disappointed. This was my go to Home Depot. I could not find a decent bucket for a sponge mop. Many isles were blocked with unshelved items. The store selection is very limited as compared to online options. I should have stayed home and shopped online a wasted trip.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, ample supplies on hand, pretty neat and organized store, not a long wait to check out.
They are super slow for checkout. I try to come to Home Depot because they offer a better pro interface than the competition, but when it takes 45 minutes to cash out because they have one person on pro side and two self checkouts. General shoppers come to the pro side with full carts and half the time are missing barcodes or need extra help. You can go to lowes across the parking lot and there’s never a line. Given they’re more expensive, you make it back up in time. They typically have a lot of people here, so this is a regular issue
5/11/22 4:43 pmPaid with cash, machine shorted me. Alerted the cashier. She didn’t know how to fix it, no problem she asked someone. She makes a duplicate receipt and tells me she has to go down the way to get change. What’s she do? Immediately starts helping someone else. I wait. I wait. So I leave because obviously I got treated differently. Glad to know I’m such a valued customer.
Crazy how customer service has completely died, seemingly with this Home Depot as the epicenter. Online orders, they already have your money so when it comes to the store who cares if you can get it or not.
Kari, Marquis, Lauren, Tamara, Diamond 💎 were awesome !!! Please understand when I tell you above and beyond is telling it lightly. As a retired veteran its always a pleasure to deal with responsible hard working women and men who make every effort to make your experience better. Thank you all so much for your time and effort.Tommy 🧳.Just an extra and important information.LAUREN WAS SUPER PATIENT WITH MY DIFFICULT FRIEND WHO NEEDED VERY SPECIFIC THINGS IN HER ORDER. LAUREN MADE ADJUSTMENTS THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS AND HELPED US TREMENDOUSLY.THANK YOU LAUREN !!
I love home Depot, so this review is biased.I just went into the depot, this female couple had a dog. I asked if it was a service dog? They said nope, just bringing him out. I dont think people should just bring their animals out. But what do I know?
The staff blocked 3 aisles at a time when stocking items with the hi-lo. Not one while in it, but several. And other aisles were blocked with carts of inventory, staircases, cardboard displays, abandoned shopping carts, and other junk. These stores are mot ADA compliant and need to be fined.
This store location is clean and the employees are somewhat helpful. I am very dissatisfied with my most recent experience with purchasing a toolbox. I visited the store and they did not have any of the items on the shelves, I was advised to purchase the item online even though the in-store pick up says they had 3 in store available. There were none available when I arrived same day.I proceeded to purchase the order online with the help of employee and one week later my order is still not ready to pick up. Every time I call the customer service they say my order is being processed. Revisiting today a week later, I was notified that my item has not even reached the store and no restocked items available. The only 2 options I was offered were to continue waiting until the end of the day today, cancel or revisit the store another time.I ultimately had to cancel my order and travel back to this location to receive my cash refund in person and travel to the Warren Home Depot location to actually receive my toolbox because they had them in stock. This entire experience has cost me gas and money and I don’t believe I’ll be revisiting this location.
May be unfair to judge but i have a lot of experience shopping here and other stores, also working in retail and warehouses n more but this store has so much business often and many customers are total jerks.. also many contractors running you down, anti-maskers whom have an issue for some reason with you having a mask.. Most of the workers are helpful and any store anymore though if I go through check out it with a real person the ringer throws items into my cart, i really get irked by this I know they would not want me tossing their expensive new bought tool into a basket or what not.. Often many items not priced at this store. Also you have to watch your ring up well some sale items do not register or you can get an altogether different price.. The Lowes right next door makes this location a helpful one since i like to mix it up but we have a home depot card so tend to shop there more even though it is less organized often.. Will probably be at this store later today lol we live in the city of Detroit and it is just a ten minute drive to this exit.. I really like taking a break from here though and going to other locations for often more relaxed shopping and nicer stores.. Also one suggestion would be to have a massive corkboard at every store where contractors can leave cards and info? Or would it get abused?
This location was crowded but thats expected on a Sunday. Upon checkout the line was busy an had 5 people waiting but the Cashier Assistant was directing everyone to what registers were available to make sure the line didnt stay long. Me an my spouse found everything we were looking for. Only thing I want to complain about is the wood prices. Most things wooden were super high. We paid almost $20 for a unfinished 4 foot piece of handrail!!! 😱 In the past before inflation began we paid $25-$30 for a 12-14 foot piece. The wood prices are ridiculous. I told my spouse when the 4 foot handrail wrung up about $20 I almost told the cashier assistant to take the handrail off our bill an go an get an 2x4 an well make it work.
Nice clean and organized store. The employees were surprisingly helpful and knowledgeable. 👍
Very helpful staff at the plumbing and bath department, lately which has been rare in some home depots. Supplies were limited sure to pandemic I believe, but had everything we needed to remodel our bathroom. Definitely a one stop shop for upgrades
Placed order on line for carpet cleaner, around noon. Website gives 2 hour pickup window. I wait all afternoon for notification that my order is ready. Finally, at 4:35, I call HD. After letting the phone ring for, literally, 5 minutes, someone finally picks up. "Oh," the guy says when I give my order number, "thats only one item - you can pick that up any time." Well, great - thanks for not bothering to notify me. But wait - I did get a text that my order was ready for pickup ... 10 minutes after I called. My advice: dont offer a service like online ordering for pickup if you dont have staff that can handle the process.
Very good place to get your wants and needsBest way to find things faster is use your app by searching and find out where to goNot every Home Depot are the sameAlways keep your eyes open for Clarence specially on woodGet the tools you need to get the job done faster rental tools helps a lot
Chris in lumber offered excellent service. Patient, professional, precise and more helpful than required. He is a bright spot at this location.
I brought about $4000 worth of stuff to remove my bathroom. When I was done with my stuff, the remainder of the stuff I went to return, they wouldn’t give my money back on my debit or cash instead they forced me to take store credit for $200.. that’s the last $200 you’re going to get from me, Lowe’s you got yourself a new loyal customer
2:30 Saturday afternoon I go to Home Depot in Madison Heights, MI. Ive already spent over 2 hours in there, Ive got electrical outlets, covers, five new light fixtures two porch fixtures I go to the register and I find out that a self-service only are you serious? I realize theres a shortage of employees, you have people on your floor working tripping over one another trying to help other customers but not enough to run a register? but you have one register open and its knee deep in patrons waiting to pay for their things! You see you just lost my sale-Not talking about 4 or 5 people, Im talking nearly double that!
I love Home Depot! I just have a hard time finding workers in this location :( overall still a great store if you know what you’re looking for! Some times the check out lines can be literally insane. Last time we waited in line for over 30 minutes! Very understaffed for the amount of customers, but everything is always stocked well.
Its home depot.. they are really good at somethings and need improvement on others. Corporate needs to get a handle on the accuracy of the websites in store inventory, its never correct. Ordered a bbq online, came in when it was supposed to, box was a bit beat up, pick up was easy.
My latest DIY project is a picture perfect chalk board that doubles as a framed selfie picture background. I needed a menu chalkboard but not just any board. I needed something unique so took the $13 plywood and cut them to fit a couple of old picture frames. I bought some Kilts for the primer coat, then the Chalkboard paint in Garnet. I love the results!
I love this Home Depot and the staff is generally pleasant. Little difficult to find people sometime, seems like they need to staff up. Also I’m not sure when this Home Depot got so unorganized. The past couple weeks I have been coming here due to a home project that I’m working on and the isles are packed, stuff is everywhere, and everything I’m needed for this project needs to be restocked and pulled from the shelves.
I’ve had two very bad experiences here. First, I went to buy a $800 grill. It took 2 hours to get it down from the shelves. Second, I purchased what I thought was a new window ac unit. Turns out it was not new. You could see that it had been used before and it did not come with all the parts including mounting hardware and remote control. I wasn’t concerned about the remote but no mounting hardware? How can you buy something from a place where you don’t even know if all the parts are in the box? I’ve had great Home Depot experiences in the past but will not be coming back to this location.
I love my Home Depot in Madison Heights. Im a DIYer and I always find myself going there first.I met the most helpful, polite gentleman there today while I was shopping for wood. I didnt get his name, he said hes only been there for about two months but he was very helpful. He cut my wood down to my specifications.
Very disappointed because there was a class held at 10am this morning to learn about installing flooring. I got there at 9:50 asked around to find location and all employees said it was cancelled because no one showed up at 9 am when the class started. Another employee said no one registered. I clearly registered and was there at 10am when it said the class was being held on the website and in my email. Very upset as I was about install alot of this. I guess YouTube it is. Poor quality of service Home Depot.
