Jangmi-dong, Gunsan-si, South Korea, Gunsan-si
This is a very neat museum. You can get through it relatively quickly. For how large it looks on the outside its pretty sparsely filled. The highlight is the recreated village. Very cool. Quite a bit of bias present, prepare yourself.
The museum is very informative. You can find information in english also.
I introduce a museum in Gunsan. This place is shows the times 100 years ago. You can see the Old Town from here and experience the independence strugglesWhat i recommend is the modern life room. You can see old things like go-mu-sin and street shops.Gunsan has lost to Japan because of its wide port and rice production area. Therefore, you can see the citizens who resisted this.Gunsan is the place where many independence struggles took place. I recommend it to people who are interested in history. Also, going with my grandmother will be a good memory.
A majority of the displays are transcribed in english. (If not, a translator app and free WIFI will help!). The staff were very polite, and helped guide me through signing in. My Korean is a max of 10 words right now, so I cant stress how nice they are. All the exhibits are well lit, well layed out and easy to follow.
Wish they had the guided podcasts ready. And more English translations of things. But otherwise VERY lovely museum, 10/10 would recommend
This was a very nice experience. Atleast half of the exhibits have an English description under the Hangul to help you out. Well air conditioned building as well
fun and great way to learn the history of gunsan when the japanese imperial era
I enjoyed a lot while spending time in this museum. The history is really well depicted in the museum and you learn a lot while moving from one area to another inside the museum. It is also very fun to take pictures here!
Here doesnt let people be misunderstood for korean history.
Great little museum with lots of interactive things to try
Good to spend few hours in morning, most of the things are written in Korean language.
Haven’t been here yet. Will go soon.
Gunsan is good city to travel. For foreigners and also Locals. This museum and its area is quite small but we can meet many cute and modern buildings.
Very good.. Historical places
the historical building from Japans ruling to Korea
Good
Industrious people, booming economic progress
A regional history site.
So attractive places kept a great modern history.
Absolutely a must visit
Historic museum
Rich contents & large free parking space.
There was lots to see and discover. Easly lost track of time.
Good
"The people who forgot the history has no future" seems to be the motto of this museum.Nice five-story museum(but only 3 stories are for museumthat covers from the stone age to modern days of Gunsan. Most items(not allwere explained in English so foreigners also can read and learn about the history of the city.On the third floor, there was an exhibition about Donghak movement where the peasants gathered and fought against corrupted government and the Japanese.
Outstanding representation of the history of the Gunsan region, from the bronze age to post World War II
It was fun
small, and simple but good as itself
Plenty of parking nearby. 3000 won per person for 4 places.5000 won coupon back pepgram for purchases over 6000 won or more.
Great newly built museum in the heart of Gunsan. There is a lot of history about the area. Most exhibit descriptions are in Korean only.
The Gunsan citys definitive history preserved in pristine condition.
Small but great value, especially for kids
Amazing if you like history of course
It shows life in 1950s to 1980s. Bringing middle schooler children will be good for field trip.
Beside the sea, its an amazing place to visit about freedom war.
An audacious, ambitiously curated museum which failed to make a big impression. Blemished by a biased nationalism.
Good
Good place for local people.
It is a place to go if you go to Gunsan.
Really cool to see the history of Gunsan like this! I enjoyed getting an idea what life was like at the time under the Japanese. Tragic but very interesting to see like this.
We were surprised to enjoy a live museum with volunteer actors taking us back in time on the third floor streets of Gunsan 1930.
Great view into the past.
Exellent
Fairly interesting.
highly recommended. nicely curated with lots of interactive programs. definitely worth to spend 2 hours. love to visit again. Love Gunsan!
So so
maybe good to visit here if you have lot of time
If you cant read Korean, then this place is not very enjoyable.
