From start to finish, AES Hearth & Patio provided a positive experience. Mike, the salesman at the Mechanicsburg store, was very professional and courteous. He answered all my questions and provided prompt updates to my new Waitsfield gas stove purchase. Andrew, AES Inspector who was very knowledgeable, came out to assess the job, to include converting stovepipe sizes and roof considerations. Bryce and Todd, the installers were top notch. They removed my old gas stove & reconfigured the stove piping to give me more living space, which made the room look bigger. They paid special attention to making the stove pipe ring flush with the slanted ceiling, not an easy task. In addition they cleaned the carpet area around where the old stove base made marks. All these extra details were over and above my expectations, and made them worthy of this 5 star review.

We were very pleased with the installation of our pellet stove! We had a pellet stove at our other house, and this one is just as bit as fabulous. The AES guys were very helpful and answered our questions. We stayed with Harmon Pellet Stoves from our other house. I think Harmon is over and above other competiors. Harmon is more expensive, but you get what you pay for. All told, we are very happy!

AES technician Ian was at my home this morning to investigate an unusual problem we were having with our gas fireplace. I was very impressed with the way he took his time to explain everything he was doing, answering questions along with being thorough. He is also going to consult with other AES technicians to further look into our problem. I would highly recommend him and AES. On another note… There was a bit of a mixup in his arrival time and he very quickly apologized for any inconvenience that might’ve been caused which showed respect for my time as well as his. I’m extremely happy with his service!!

Stopped just to leave donated blankets and coats they are collecting for community in need. This is the second year I am aware of this campaign. Went to one up close Newville with friend for items he needed. The staff was polite and efficient with getting supplies from stock room.

Not thrilled with this company. We bought a fireplace back in late August and was told it would be done by end of September. Now we are in the 2nd week of November and it is not finished. They forgot to schedule the mason after framing and fireplace install. We had to stare at a plywood bump out for 3 weeks. Then the mason schedules on last minute to come in and start this week. Yup, he started but guess what, an incorrect quantity of stone was ordered. I am not happy with this unorganized business practice. I was going to spend more money at AES but that is not happening after this treatment. I will update once AES figures out a way to rectify this matter.

Just had our Vermont castings Defiant stove installed with a new liner. Everything was done beautifully. The work they put in we couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait for the first burn once the weather changes. Thank you AES for putting this beautiful stove in our dream home.

They have a whole bunch of neat outdoor stuff like smokers, fireplaces, outdoor bars, and grills. They also have a wide selection of fireplaces and customization. I cant tell you about the price because I just looked around, but I would say its probably worth it.

I recently purchased a HeatnGlo 35" fireplace insert from AES Hearth & Patio. They inspected my existing firebox/chimney, provided a very thorough inspection report and installed the fireplace insert. I want to thank the AES team for their professionalism and attention to detail. They provided a first class fireplace insert and a quality installation. All of their personnel were knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.

We bought a Harman pellet stove/fireplace insert two years ago and we love it. Its a gorgeous maroon color; almost looks like a piece of furniture. Our salesman, Steve, did a great job explaining how these stoves work, as wed never had a pellet stove. Since our purchase, weve had two end of season routine service calls. Both times the techs were courteous and answered all my questions.We are seriously looking into adding a second pellet stove insert this fall. If we do, it will only be with AES.

They installed a natural gas stove fireplace for us a few weeks ago. The appearance and functionality is fantastic. Their customer service was even better. The two installers were on time, very efficient, personable, and top rate installers. They spent time after the fireplace insert install providing details on the maintenance and use of the device, and I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone needing this service.

They were to come today to install a gas fireplace between 12 and 2. They had a job prior to ours that took longer than expected and didnt have cell service so they couldnt notify us. They came out about 4 then and did the job, even though it was late. It was fine with us and they did a terrific job! Highly recommend!

so far so good! purchased a quadra-fire propane fireplace insert - the install guys were here today and did a great job. They even noticed that the fans sounded funny to them and they scheduled a service to replace them. Steve Zink was easy to work with for the sales process. They were professional in all ways, scheduling, inspection, electrician.

We were told to give them a phone call to see how busy they were we arrived when they said to arrive. we did have to wait for a little while but that was expected. they kept us informed the whole time of how long it was going to take.Service was quick explanations were easy to understand overall service absolutely awesome.AES will be installing this and our next stove.

The staff were helpful and knew exactly what products we already had, how to replace them ,and what would best suit our needs moving forward. Our technicians Chris and Andrew were phenomenal! They worked tirelessly to install our new wood burning stove, and took the time to educate us on the paperwork, parts, and maintenance.

Their customer service is horrible. It all started immediately after purchasing a fire table. We were told delivery would occur the following week, and theyd be in touch with when. WE had to reach out to them to arrange delivery. Then, once it was delivered, they didnt have the proper equipment to test it (i.e. a tank and battery). When we went to test it, it wouldnt stay properly lit. We called to see if someone could come out as perhaps we werent doing something right. Multiple phone calls were made to have someone come out. We were told on a Thursday night someone could probably come out Friday. That never happened. The following Monday, I emailed. On Tuesday, I received a response wed get another call from the Service scheduling. We didnt receive that call for another several days and then were told it was a two week wait. Upon arrival of the service visit, they tried to bill us for a service charge. Mind you, it has NEVER worked. It was then determined that it is a part under warranty, but it would be an additional 2-3 weeks. At this point, we want to return the damaged product and get a refund. But SURPRISE! No one has called us back yet. Covid is not an excuse for poor customer service. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.

Showed up at 5:50 pm when the sign on their door and website said they close at 7:00. Door locked. Open sign off. Man at counter texting or messing around on his phone and not acknowledging us. Waste of time.

We had a pellet stove installation. The guys were on time, very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They took the time to explain everything they were doing from cutting the stone on our fireplace to every part of how the stove worked including how to clean it. More than satisfied with everything about AES. Weve been dealing with AES for more than a decade. They even serviced the previous pellet stove we had even though we didnt buy it from them. Highly recommend AES!!!

Whole experience with AES was great! The crew that came in to inspect our chimney were professional and personable. Sarah in scheduling went above and beyond to get our insert in before our soldiers came home for the holidays. The installers were hard working and explained in detail how to work the stove. We were very appreciative to AES for a warm holiday. We highly recommend AES!

Matthew Frost came to our home to take measurements for a fireplace enclosure. He was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He thoroughly inspected the chimney and cleaned the area when he was finished. We are looking forward to having the enclosure installed.

The new showroom looks great. They have a great selection of quality brands and high-end accessories. Service when I went in to find a replacement part was friendly. Id go here before a box store to check out the higher range of products choices. Some items carry a little sticker shock though.

Great Company, great employees! We recently purchased a new Wood Stove from AES. Levi not only helped us pick out a new stove, but he explained every part of the billing and even discussed different payment options available. The company came out, explained the need for an inspection of our current stove and chimney as well as issues they found. AES made sure we understood what was happening throughout the entire process. I strongly recommend AES Hearth & Patio if you are looking to upgrade your heating source, or even just looking for a chimney inspection.

My experience was with the service department only. The rating would have been one star if it were not for Sarah providing outstanding customer service. My experience started out on a positive note: I stopped in the store and talked with the sales manager about my fire pit; Steve was very helpful and referred me to the service department to determine if it could be repaied instead of purchasing a new one. I scheduled a service call and the technician, Joe arrived on time and was very professional. He quickly figured out the problem with our fire pit and told me that the part should be in stock and someone would call me to schedule installing the new part. An easy fix. No response for over a week. When I called the person who anwered the phone was very rude and cut me off and said she would look into it and would get back to me. Another week; no response and when I called I got the same rude response. Two more weeks and no communication. This time when I called I was told that the part had to be ordered and it could take a while. A month later no communication. This time when I called the person answering said she was transfering me to the service manager who could answer my questions...instead I was sent straight to voicemail. I left a message and the service manager did not return my call. I waited 2 days and called again and was fortunate to speak with Sarah who listened to the problem, showed concern and followed up with me. Sarah called back when she said she would...she did not overpromise; but she overdelievered. The part arrived earlier than expected and Sarah followed through on scheduling the service call at a convienient time and the service technician, Andrew arrived on time and replaced the part in ten minutes.Kudos to Sarah...she should be the service manager.

AES is a great place to buy a stove or any type of fireplace or outside cooking appliances.

We bought a Harman P35i Insert (we owned a Harman PF100 furnace at another residence and loved it). AESs sales and installation service was nothing but top notch. The sales staff (Steve Zinkcommunicated site inspection and installation dates very clearly. On site staff were very professional and friendly, explaining all required details about the install. Their work was timely and very competent. Were very satisfied with AES and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to purchase and install one of the stoves they sell.

Matthew and Bryce installed our new Harman P68. They were on schedule and did an awesome installation. They prepped the work area nicely and took extra care to protect our carpeting. They walked us through the installation and gave an excellent tutorial on the operation and care of the unit. They both are true assets to AES and I look forward to having them maintain our unit in the future.

I had a fireplace insert installed last fall. I had some problems with the draft and called them back. They explained the whole problem, fixed it, and they gave me a great deal on the repair. In addition, they were very, very nice and answered a lot of fireplace, chimney, and heating questions I had.

The term hearth and patio covers a potentially wide-ranging inventory of heating stoves, barbecue gear and other accessories for ones back yard, deck and patio, for both warm and cold weather. However, a focus of AES is the stove ~ coal, wood, gas and pellet. What is most striking is the helpful, knowledgeable, no-sales-pressure atmosphere. The range of stoves and fire pits is impressive. Very knowledgeable and courteous salespeople and manager. They took the time to show me the different available fire pits at their store. Great selection even offered some that had some blemishes at a reduced price. They must be doing things right because they are in the midst of an expansion.

If you are looking for a TRAEGER Pellet Grill Just Buy It Very awesome & Easy to use, I would recommend getting the front folding shelf. The set it & Let it is just the way it is. We make anything from pulled pork to burgers & it works very well, Thanks guys

Dont Trust the Chimney Cleaning ServiceWe have used AES on and off for a few years to clean our chimney from our wood burning stove not only at our home but also at a rental unit we own. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this service after what we experienced this past year. AES cleaned the chimney at our rental unit In June of 2017 and when the tenants went to use the wood stove in November 2017 the house filled up with smoke. Upon further investigation it became apparent that the chimney was never cleaned properly and a large amount of creosote that was pushed down the liner with the "cleaning" was clogging the stove. AES cashed the check but did not provide the service (see photos below that were taken after the cleaning was performed). Upon a call from both our tenants and us they were able to come out a few days later to rectify the problem.While I recognize that they did rectify the issue "at no charge to us" this represents a huge trust issue for us and whether previous cleanings have been performed in a satisfactory manner. Cleaning the chimney on at least an annual basis is paramount to safe operation of a wood burning stove and we will simply not compromise our familys safety with shoddy workmanship or failed delivery of services hence the one star rating. We will be looking elsewhere for chimney cleaning services in the future.

Thank you for having pellets for us when our local Home Depot and Lowes were out. You were a little far away for us, but always had a few bags for everyone. You helped keep us from freezing in our hard-to-heat house (which is why we owned a stove on the first place!and probably kept us healthy too! ❤
