It’s so much fun kayaking here.So many sailboats/motorboats passed by, the big waves made peddling much exciting. Don’t forget to bring some snacks and drinks. It’s so nice to have drinks while or after kayaking.Single Kayak: $23/hrDouble Kayak: $30/hrPaddle Board: $25/hrPremium Single $35/hrPremium Double $40/hr

Dont order any aguas frescas. They fill the cup up with 3/4 of ice and the cup is small. Not worth it.

We were there in April 2022 and loved it. The service was good - the person doing paperwork used humor, the person giving us kayaks explained everything and showed how to use them. Some reviews say about rude service, I guess some employees are not educated well enough. The concerning thing is the review about toppled kayak and no help provided citing a waver. I think even with wavers in place, there should be some kind of response, otherwise, who would risk being left out in the water? But our own experience was good.

Smooth operation! A bit of a line on a decent day, during a holiday weekend but thats to be expected. They were able to give us a double kayak that had a middle seat for our toddler. Great experience! We will be back!

Big area of opportunity to improve operations on busy summer days… the wait to rent a kayak or paddle board was over an hour and they only had 1 person running the front desk. Every party had to sign a paper copy of a waiver. If they had 2 employees running the front desk and it was mandatory to sign the waiver electronically ahead of time, the painful wait would have been nonexistent. I understand summer weekends are peak hours, but there are clear, easy ways they could have improved customer service and speed of service. On the other hand, this place has ample kayaks and paddle boards and is centrally located. 2 great route options - east to Lake Washington and beautiful Foster Island with great bird watching, or west to loop around Lake Union. On a slow day (weekdays, overcast or cooler days), I would definitely recommend.

What an unforgettable experience. Being on the water was just the beginning. Honestly the best customer service from the father/son owners I’ve experienced in a long time. Our wires crossed for a special anniversary surprise I planned for my husband and Ray could not have been more accommodating. We left feeling like friends and would recommend this to anyone looking to get on the water and have a unique experience. Thank you!

Thank you Ray!!! What an amazing experience we just had. Spent our 6 year wedding anniversary out on the water and Ray and his son couldn’t have been better to us. They made sure we were completely taken care with service that was ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure we had a special night. I can’t wait to come back!!

Over priced Americanized Mexican food. However, the view is gorgeous on a summer day. Service was slow but the college area keeps them super busy. I would compare the food to a Chipotle. Nothing authentic, nothing fancy. Chips and salsa alone cost 12 dollars. But, for me, I came with the understanding i was paying for the vibe and view.

The food and drinks was pretty good. We had a table outside with music playing in the background. But the paddle board place is the ABSOLUTE WORST! Extremely rude staff.... especially the older guy. I know seattle is know for this... but this place went above and beyond not to treat you like a human.

Wow, that was a lightening fast descent for this place. For years I’ve loved this restaurant and this evening’s meals via Uber Eats were both small and gross. I hate leaving such a negative review of a local place, but every part of this meal was that bad.I’ve been hearing the food went downhill & passionate about defending this place because I ate here about two months ago & it was fine. I stand corrected, it’s gross now.The tiny carne asada steak dinner entree was a cold mostly raw rubbery mess of 4 past raw slivers of tasteless rawhide chew —nothing like the perfectly grilled flat steak it used to be. This is the first time I’ve ever spit out a bite steak in my entire life. The rice was devoid of texture and tasted like dirty water soggy mush bits .Even the containers were all different and sloppy, which also rendered the nachos soggy (unlike the brown containers used before). These are also kid sized now... and instead of perfectly seasoned bits of yore, more of the water rubber bits were sprinkled on sparingly —not sure what’s worse there given I was glad for the plain chips that were not infected since even soggy they were the only item with a decently salted taste. I’m confident these bits were subtracted from the aforementioned 4 bits of water rubber steak to avoid having to use the actual portion of meat the nachos were owed. The tortillas were even disgusting-albeit the only warm item. I can forgive cold, but not when it is combined with willful disregard for what a place sends out with their name on it. No one could’ve mistaken this meal for something that should’ve been sent out. This was a total waste of money and I’m legitimately insulted that any restaurant would attempt to pass this off as a meal fit to serve anyone.I guess I regret sending so many people to order from this place the past few months to the point of writing this review to ensure folks know I only did so because this did used to be more than a decent place for a meal.

We didnt rent any water crafts so I cant rate this service. We came for lunch. The foods mediocre. Theres a very long line to order and the food took a long time to come out. My taquitos were tasteless, like they forgot to season the meat, and the ends overdone so hard i was afraid theyd break my teeth! My daughter said shed had better tacos at other places for less. On the lake location is OK but you really cant see too much past the marina. We ate at a table outside. There were indoors dining also but seemed pretty warm on that hot day. Pretty disappointing. We wont be back:(

I had a great time on the lake. That said, as someone who’s newer to lake kayaking, it would’ve been nice if the “kids” running this place spent a bit more time giving you the rundown. I felt lost and almost like I was an inconvenience from checking in to getting fit w a life jacket. The guy who put me in my kayak was very cool though and even held my jacket for me until I returned.

Always love my lunch (and occasional dinnervisits to Agua Verde. The new bar seating seating layout and the paddle club outdoor cantina have been great additions. All of the tacos are delicious, although I miss the Bagre option (catfish). Salsa bar is great, margaritas are tasty, and the staff is warm and efficient. Did I mention theres a walk up window for to-go orders, coffee, and breakfast burritos?

Great restaurant! You start by ordering at the front first & youre handed a fruit as your table marker. Then you pick your seat, theres seating inside, as well as plenty of outside seating. It was hard for me to pick, most of the dishes have interesting ingredients & all of them sounded delicious! I had the camarones (shrimp tacos), they were delicious! They came with cabbage & avocado creama - I scarfed them down quickly. You also have the option to sub a side of rice & beans for chips! They have a small salsa bar & they all tasted amazing (my favorite was the Chipotle salsa).Auga Verde offers bottled & canned sodas, as well as a few other drinks. They also have a bar, so plenty of alcoholic beverages!

Such a great time at Agua Verde! We had a friend visiting from Toronto and wanted to do a little November Kayak (why not!), so we gave the club a call even though they are listed as closed. The owner answered and said that since he needed to do some work, we could swing by. Such a friendly host. Highly recommend and will be back in the summer!

Ive been here twice now, and both times Ive got the carnitas tacos. I gotta say, not that impressed. I wouldnt say the carnitas itself was bad, the meat had some flavor to it, just the tacos as a whole were ok at best and were definitely a little small. I also asked for their "Diablito" salsa, which only gave my tongue a tingle at best. Not to mention the rice and beans were bland, and when I order I side of rice and beans at a Mexican restaurant, I expect the beans to be refried beans -- they gave me pinto beans. I get that they are healthier and all but they hugely lack in taste. This is all on top of the fact that a somewhat small meal cost me $16, which is definitely on the pricey side. Im not from the area and havent lived in Seattle that long but its definitely lacking in the Mexican food department; the only reason Im not giving them a 2-star rating is because I wanna see more Mexican restaurants make it in the U-district.

the food was ok. I asked for flour tortillas instead of corn for my entree, and the waitress asked my wife if she wants flour for hers too. i was disappointed that they charged both entrees $4 as if it was an upgrade. it shouldnt have cost extra and they should have been upfront about it. Poor!

Great outdoor seating for a nice day. Its always fun to look at the water. Nothing can compete in the area so they charge a bit or a premium on their food which is good but not the best ever or anything. Great place to meet someone for a quick lunch.

This is where you go for a stellar Seattle day ! A day on the water exploring Seattle from a herons view, houseboats, industry, UW, Montlake, arboretum, fellow boaters, bridges, waterfowl and lily pads, snowcapped mountains in the background, followed by Margaritas on the fresh air deck overlooking Portage Bay to further exhale. Owner, service & equipment all top notch. Another right in our backyard pleasure :)

Deliciously interesting Mexican food, with fresh, house made salsas. Great spot to sit outside (in nice weatherand watch the paddlers and boaters pass by. Oh, and yummy margaritas and other liquid refreshments in the charming bar. Best to go early or late for lunch. Big crowds from the University at regular lunch hour.

We arrived with 4 adults and two pre-teens. None of us could believe how incredibly rude the young man at the front desk was. He wasn’t nice at all to four adults who were between the ages of 40 and 60. No respect! Our kayak trip was pleasant and the dock people nice. We ate at the restaurant and to be honest, it’s not the restaurant that I remember. I can’t say that I will return anytime soon. The kids ordered from the children’s menu and the food was so spicy that they did not eat it. Our food was not to par and I was embarrassed that I had told my guests that this restaurant was really good. We all ordered beers as none of us thought the small margaritas were worth the $10-12 price. All in all an overpriced experience with rude staff and sub par food.

Always a festive place to grab a bite and fun drink. If it’s too busy inside you can pick up to go from the easy access window out front and grab a picnic table down the stairs close to the water. Yam tacos are tasty!

Used to be a regular stop for lunch, but while the space has been make nicer under new ownership, the prices have gone up and the quality of the food is less consistent. They now have a food truck behind the restaurant for all to-go orders which they failed to let me know before I was asked to wait so that they could take orders for the group of 30 (no exaggerationthat was behind me in line. Not sure Ill go back.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PADDLE CLUB! From the start they were rude and barking orders. Then, while kayaking, a big wave hit my friend and his kayak tipped over. After struggling to get back in it filled up with water. My friend was exhausted so I went back to the place to get help. I was told “He signed a waver” and they would help when they had time. 20 minutes passed and I finally had it and made a scene. Customers started to get concerned that they weren’t helping us so finally the owner (the OWNER was there the whole timeagreed to help us. Terrible customer service, terrible workers, terrible owner, and they don’t care about safety. Want to go to a great paddle/kayak rental place that treats you with respect and cares about safety? NW Outdoor center is great and I have had amazing experiences with them. Do not go to this place, they do not deserve your money. I’ve never rated a place before but this experience was so bad that I had to.

I have been to this place many times and I always am left with the feeling that I should have gone somewhere else. They have recently changed their menu and it is much better than it was a year ago, but the service has gotten even worse. I ordered to go and when I got to the window, the gentlemen asked me "What do you want?" Go somewhere else. Plenty of better options in the U-District.

Good vibe but service is really slow and we needed to ask bill as well multiple times. Most of the food was really tasty, but the rockfish that was in one of the tacos was burned (in our opinion, although kitchen said that oil makes it dark). I would come back for the view and for drinks.

Great location, but the food was absolutely underwhelming, under sized, and aggressively proceed. Beer was cold, and margaritas were wet.Probably a packed house on every nice day over the summer, and Im guessing not much activity in the winter months because the experience is the reason to stop by and not the food.

This was my first time here but the friends I went with tell me it was much better under the old ownership. The service was unbelievably slow -- it took about an hour just to get our appetizer, then the main dishes came out before we had finished the appetizer. We barely saw our server -- I suspect she was embarrassed by how long everything was taking and therefore avoiding us. As a result, when we wanted drink refills we were out of luck. The food was good when it finally arrived, but not worth the wait. Great views, decent food, poor service.

Ive been going here regularly for years and years, and I love it! They have great food, and I love that all the lunch entrees come with chips and salsa. I dropped down a star since they changed their menu recently and my favorite beef tacos got painfully spicy! Back off on the spice a little bit and theyd be perfect.

The food was good. But it did take almost an hour to get. Now, they were hopping and the place was full. After about 30 minutes in (after telling me 15 minutes before that my food was almost upI was given a free full of chips and guacamole. This is normally about $7.50 so it was nice offer. The tutorials about 15 minutes after that.My recommendation is verify whether theyre busy and if they are maybe choose a different time unless you got a lot of time to kill .

My heart is broken as the new owners of this place have completely changed the menu. The bacalao tacos were one of my all-time favorite dishes and I got them regularly since I work nearby. They dont exist anymore, and the baja tacos that have replaced them are just mediocre fish tacos that you can get anywhere, and are overwhelmed by the pickled cabbage they contain. It is half the amount of fish that I previously got as well. Im sad and disappointed that this gem of a restaurant has changed hands.

I have never kayaked before in my life so I was a bit nervous and doing this as a solo excursion. The staff service was wonderful and explained in laymens terms of kayaking, pointing out how to get to Lake Union. I asked about their happy hour which is get 2 hours and get the third for free (more info onlineby before 4PM, but it took me a while to get back since I had no idea what I was doing and arrived about 30 minutes late. Despite this, they honored the deal and were so incredibly nice. Ill be moving here later this year and cant wait to come back to kayak with them again!P.S. The restaurant upstairs is super good!

The chicken enchiladas tasted odd, like the meat had bbq sauce added, and the rice and beans were bland. Not worth $13. The service was pretty quick but not friendly, so the only positive was the outdoor tables and view. I dont recommend.

I like Aqua Verde fine, but everyone I know seems to love it. The food is decent, but doesnt blow me away. I like the decor, especially since there are multiple rooms and patio seating. The service is poor, but I didnt have the heart to rate it a zero. The staff is slow and not particularly friendly. Besides preparing the food (not trying to rate that down), they only bring you the food. You have to get everything else yourself and bus your own table. Honestly, Id be fine with that kind of service if their prices were lower.
