Alpine Inn, Khancoban in Towong

Food is standard pub fare, but generous servings. I would love to see these places do good and interesting food like the rest of the world. It would make me and others actually want to come to this treary town. Also, the property is in serious need of some love. Much potential.

Called in for a meal, lamb shanks were good, but friend ravioli was below standard. Staff very friendly

Dropped in for 2 meals and a few drinks.Awesome food at the right price.The staff are friendly and chatty if you are up for conversation.The locals are friendly too, happy to leave you alone or engage in a chat if you need to ask a few questions.

We only stayed for 2 nights it was perfect for our needs, warm beds and hot showers. The meal we had was above and beyond whats expected of Pub food.

Excellent quality, generous portions, amazing variety of sides to choose from. Complimentary coffee and tea. Great atmosphere and will definitely go back, Kosciuszko beer is a great addition to the experience.

I stayed in the standard room and the room was large and really clean. Awesome hot shower and great heating.Sat next the fire at the pub and had a big affordable feed. Tops.

Tried several times to call to make a booking. No answer. No one in the office. Tried calling several more times after 2 pm, as suggested, still no answer. Gave up.

A great little town with well priced accommodation in a very picturesque area of this alpine area.The photo i just found amusing

The food was very good but the place needs a complete make over. So just drop in for a feed.

Food is variable and the building is a dump. Staff are freindly and in the end it is the only place open at night in Khancoban.

Motel rooms need only burning. I have stayed over 50 motels within the past four years in different states. This place was the worst. Booked room 18 for three nights but stayed only for 1 night. No microwave, very dirty, spider nets everywhere killed 3 spiders and one cockroach in 1 night. mattress, pillows and sheets aged minimum years. Carpet 20+ years, dirty and damaged.

Great venue. Great menu, quick service.Just enjoyed Christmas Carols combined with a visiting Bag Pipe Band. With the Khancoban Dam in the distance and the surrounding hills I could just imagine being in Scotland.

Had the barramundi with garlic prawns was very nice. Would have been 5 stars but fish slightly overcooked.

If youre out that way, do stop there for a meal! Stopped in with friends a few weeks ago now for the second time and absolutely loved it. Meals are superb. Amongst us we order roast pork belly, lamb shank and T-Bone steak. We were all totally delighted. The T-Bone steak was almost the size of the plate and cooked to perfection. there is a vegetable and salad bar which is excellent.Very friendly people, loved enjoying a drink outside. If you are looking at enjoying a tasty satisfying meal in a comfortable atmosphere, its worth a visit. We will certainly be re-visiting!

Hard to give a review for this establishment as all the staff had been evacuated owing to the bushfires at the time. But.... they accomodated my fire crew and gave us free reign of the establishment for several nights while fires burned through the area. Yeah, we did our own room service but hey, they trusted us and when the staff were allowed back into the township, they were wonderful. Thanks Steve and Wendy!

Good meals, cold beer, friendly staff!

Excellent motel in Khancoban. The pool is a real treat and the rooms are super clean. Really good vegan food from a buffet for $15 and cheap drinks. Only thing to fault is the lack of milk alternatives At breakfast. Otherwise I would recommend this super cheap hotel to anyone!

Terrible atmosphere felt unwelcome by all staff and patrons. Just to top it off was given a note with a large chunk missing now have to visit a bank to try and get something back.... Thanks. Not worth your time.

Stayed here overnight after dropping by for a beer and the lav. The food is great and buffet veg will fill you up. Paid $95 on Jan 2 for a two queen bed room. The pool is refreshing and clean, the function area large and has two wood fires and a piano. Continental breakfast included, juice, toast and cereal.The beds are old and soft and have seen a lot of kids jumping on them so ours sagged in the middle.The shower needed work and sprayed all over the place.I would stay here again. Gladly.

We had our extended family with us and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed their meal. Great food, reasonable prices and friendly service.

Stayed here for two nights food is good and bar staff is very friendly I was with 20 motorcycle riders and they were happy to have us I will stay here again

What a nice and quiet place among the bushes. we were there on our road trip to Snowy Mountains to experience the region at a time when it was not snowing contrary to the time its famous for. Must say we had a ball of a time with delicious country food and looking forward to do it again. We stayed for a night at this Inn en route to Yarangobilly Caves. Though we didnt spend much time there, the limited experience we had was nice and love to visit again.

Good food and staff at hotel but motel room smelled of mould , air con was broken and filter filthy , tv was tiny , bed was old and very soft , pillows were very old , no shower screen etc etc

Not a bad place, old and tired but clean enough with fridge and microwave in the room I stayed in. The shower head is about nipple high and the shower taps are knee high but at least the water pressure is high and plenty of hot water.

Hotel needs burning. Needs new walls, windows, floors and roof. Staff do a fabulous job while dealing with such an old and Unmaintained building.

Pleasant surroundings in the alpine area. Food was good and reasonably priced. The accommodation was reasonable for the price, but did include a continental breakfast. All over a good experience.

Small room with 2 single beds and a tiny TV. Attached pub with decent food and beer.

Steak just perfectly cooked, fresh salad bar, the best of the best I had around country pub . Accomodation was ok, great hot shower just crazy as spa pressure!! Simple continental breakfast provided, must check out beautiful lighting in the front on the trees at night time. Also, beautiful bush at the back.

Nice cold beer! Chicken parmigiana was good.. buffet little bit cold but then we were late for dinner. Nice staff

These guys bend over backwards for you. This is definitely worth stopping in for a meal. The food is great, and you are in such a cool part of Australia!
