Conveniently I was able to shorten the length of my chinos in less then 30 minutes on a Sunday just before close of business. They did a great job and provided excellent customer service 👌

The team did an incredible job repairing a hole in a north face jacket. It was a complicated process where she had to cut out an inner zipper panel and patch it on the sleeve, and you can barely tell that any repair has been made. It is as good as new. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you!!

I visited Alter It South Yarra in a bit of a pickle with a formal wear gown needing to be taken in around the waist and replace some missing buttons for an event less than half a week away. I was greeted and looked after by the staff with such care and professionalism upon arrival and was reassured that they could bring the waist in and fix the buttons etc. with no issue in the time frame. I just picked up my garment today, Im so impressed and have to say thank you to the incredibly talented and caring staff. Fantastic turn around time. Really great pricing for such professional and impeccable work. Im also still so impressed at how you magically matched the buttons perfectly! 😍👌 I will be coming back!

I took a jacket of mine in that was gifted to me but never fit right - a shame because I really liked the colour and material. With some help from this wonderful business, my jacket was transformed from boxy and ill-fitting to tapered and absolutely perfect for my shape. Its clear someone put lots of time, care and skill into the job. I cant wait to keep wearing it for years to come and whole heartedly recommend that if you need alterations done right and at a great price, you take it here. Thanks!

Attended this store to make alteration to two shirts (just shorten the length- I tried on the shirts and it was pinned by tailor. It was relatively more expensive than all other alterations I had used before, but I was happy to pay more as shirts were a bit pricey and didnt want to risk it.I tried the shirts 7 days later and looked to be not as short as I wanted it to be and had to take shirts back to them to cut the length about 15mm more while making sure the style of the shirt doesnt change. I specifically asked them to not cut more than 15mm and keep the curve style of the shirt while shortening. As usual, they impatiently confirmed that they understood the change. Once I tried the shirts after alteration, they were cut extremely shorter than agreed. No curves and front and back of the shirt looked totally different and unbalanced. It was a $266 loss experience and they were not even sorry for that. I took the shirts to a different alteration, and was told: "cant fix it - whoever has done this, has no experience and should close the business". They dont accept responsibility of their work and turn the blame back on you! Dont use them.

Absolutely exceptional service, I have used this Alters Three times now, I had a set of Louis Vuitton Tracksuit bottoms that i had taken in and they did the most impeccable job, I then need to get a suit purchased and needed measurements prior to tailoring and they spent a good 20 minutes with myself measuring and refused to charge me..I just took a jacket in .. They fixed it within 20 seconds of my arrival and once again ... the most amazing service.. The Ladies and Gentlemen of this establishment are such fantastic people.

Terrific service had a last minute pair of jeans needed to be hemmed 1 hour before they closed. So helpful and good job. Will go there again for sure!!

I had 2 pairs of pants alerted here a couple of weeks back. I had the thigh area made bigger and the legs lengthened which cost a total of $70. Pretty happy with the result. Friendly staff who are happy to provide recommendations on what looks best. Weekend trading hours are the biggest plus! Would recommend and would return again

Part of my work as a group fitness instructor I have to wear different types of active wear and been an Ambassador for certain brands the clothing isn’t always the right sizes when majority arrives from overseas. Alterations South Yarra has been my saver. Not only is the stitchen to perfection but the ladies are very punctual and at times are very creative andre-design the look so my clothing fits better to my body shape but also looks good to make me look taller, slimmer and leaner.I highly recommend them for all your clothing alterations as I believe their the best in the business.

They were very polite and professional but I was shocked by the price to alter and hem a dress. I was quoted $220 to alter a dress at alterit. I then went down the road and found a place that will do the same alterations for only $85. I did not have a bad experience but would recommend searching around before agreeing to their prices.

Applied a patch to my old khaki everyday pants that isnt noticeable at all. Was just in Melbourne a week but adhered to my schedule and fixed me up quick, making the whole process as easy as possible, very thankful I came here to get my pants patched!

She did a fabulous job, especially since the material is leather. Really impressed with the quality of work!! Dont know what I would do without these lovely ladies!

Botched a pair of brand new, expensive leather trousers that Id asked to be taken in at the waist one size. When I took them in I was assured that the alteration would not be at all noticeable - if Id been told otherwise at that stage, I would have simply returned the trousers. No apology or admission of fault, was told that they could try to fix the issues at extra charge but I thought better of letting them have another go at ruining my clothes for a fee

I have been using their services for years and not only are the finishes on my alterations exceptional, the customer service is what makes me keep going back. Prepaid for services rendered.Called Wednesday asked to change to Thursday advised would be ready Friday, seemed annoyed that Id asked for it a day earlier. Advised that they would call Friday when ready, either the owner or receptionist said this. no phone call given to advise ready.Visit store today Monday following week no SMS call given as advises was told on Wednesday that it would be ready Friday, that they were waiting for me since Friday morning and did I not remember her saying it would be ready Friday morning so an SMS wasnt required however claimed its something they usually do. Poor service experience. No apologies no nothing. Wont be returning.

Had two pairs of pants to adjust waist and hem leg. Expensive, took 5 days and they said they would call when ready but they didnt. I called them 7 days later and they said "oh yes theyre ready". When picked up they were thrown over a hanger and scrunched up with a whole heap of others. Careless and overrated.
