Absolutely the worst credit union Ive ever dealt with! RV loan and was not informed about insurance requirements. Sent declaration page 4 times since December 2020. Never heard acceptance confirmation via email. Just letters sent to my permanent address over and over that they will charge my account. Declaration page satisfied all their requirements. Then I cancelled collision insurance because my RV is in a permanent location.Apparently a bad decision. After many phone calls and hours on the phone, they informed me they require collision! Proceeded to add back to my policy. Then I was charged $438 to my account for a one month lapse in collision coverage. This is criminal and just plan stealing!! They will not credit my account for this instance.My RV and their investment is safe!My full coverage policy is $520 for a full year. And they charge me $438 for a month lapse in coverage!! Criminal!!!!Photo is example of their fraudulent activity. Why are banking institutions legally allowed to do such things? Also, their banking app did not allow screenshots. I assume, this is why. Yeah, you see it. $3942 was attempted for uncategorized collateral insurance. All has been resolved, with 3 months of my life wasted!Horrible Credit Union!

Their VISA card processing is shady, deceptive, and dishonest. If you buy something from an international merchant, even though it is a dollar transaction and processed through PayPal, they will charge you a 1% international fee. I thought the up-charge was someone committing fraud on my card, but when I contacted AFCU about it, they said that the fee was "VISA Regulations" and nothing they could do about it and that I should contact the merchant. Huh??!! Its just them trying to blame VISA for their greed and deceptive fees. My Citibank VISA didnt charge me a 1% fee when I bought from the same merchant, and my brothers VISA (from Mountain America credit uniondidnt charge a 1% fee from the same merchant either. PayPal didnt charge the 1% fee and the merchant didnt charge the fee either. Their customer support told me to contact the merchant about it, as if it was the merchants up-charge. Complete greed and dishonesty by AFCU. I cant trust them anymore.

☆ Hold time.☆☆☆☆☆ Great customer service for your banking needs (minus long hold time when you call in)☆☆☆☆☆ Mobile app and bill pay is easy, great, and convenient.☆ Mortgage Dept. NOT a good experience with their mortgage dept. Their communication is horrible during the whole process. Had to request a supervisor and felt she was annoyed with us. The title company said they loved working with AFCU.☆ You CANNOT pay your loan bi-weekly to pay your loan off sooner. They just put your partial payment aside until you pay the full amount. Once that payment is paid in full then any extra you pay will go towards your choice of interest, escrow, or principle. We were very disappointed the bi-weekly payments wouldnt go towards knocking some payments off in the end. Im sure theyre earning interest when they put that partial payment into a "savings account". It would be nice to have the option to save some interest and get it paid off a few months early.

Customer service and response time are terrible. In no world is it okay to not respond to loan applications for over 14 days. Especially with several attempts to reach you from the applicant.A bank would’ve been the smarter choice over this credit union.

This is NOT a branch. They have an ATM in the back but if youre looking for further help with your account, theres an America First branch inside the Roy Harmons just south of here.
