It is such a paradise the lodge with great view of the Crater from every room, Great staff and Excellent service this is the place to be.

Our travel agent, Tracey Campbell of Travel Butlers Ltd (who was phenomenal at planning our complex tripinsisted we stay here to end our Kenya/Tanzania trip. We stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed the breathtaking Safari Suite and view of Ngorongoro Crater. The staff was wonderful and always asking what they could do for us. Msisi, our butler, made us feel like family. He was so warm, gracious and anticipated anything that could make us happy. The Safari Suite is stunning in its wood paneling and decorations. The view of the Ngorongoro Crater is unbeatable and we enjoyed it from our comfortable private deck that included a large lounge seat for two. The food was outstanding. The staff surprised us with singing, playing African instruments and a cake for our wedding anniversary. We can’t say enough about this place. It was the perfect way to end a perfect vacation.

Exceptional service in a unique property unlike anywhere we have stayed. Truly a “from Maasai to Versailles” experience. Impressed with the attention to detail from the staff. Amazing views of Ngorogoro Crater. The rooms were comfortable with incredible views of crater and zebras from the bathroom to our own patio. A must stay in Northern Tanzania.

Beautiful and authentic

This was right outside the crater so it was very quick to enter and leave compared to some other lodges around the area. The rooms were amazingly large for just me and the service and food was amazing. Wouldnt mind going back one day.

Just spent ten days at four of the &Beyond facilities from Kenya to Ngorongoro (Feb. 2022). Am a very critical person. Did not find a single thing about which to complain. The people and the services provided were all excellent in every way and while there were other minor disappointments with our visit to these wonderful places, the dedication of our hosts and the services and facilities provided were not one of them. Highly recommend &Beyond in Kenya and Tanzania.

Amazing Lodge!&beyond really knows how to take care of you from every detail. The rooms and common areas are so decadent, so many details that go into making this property trust fantastic.Our game drive with Erick was eventful and fun.We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Tanzania!

We were at the lodge August 27-29 as part of our Safari with Micato. The lodge is fabulous and the staff are top notch. The food is also wonderful.

This camp was the last lodge before we ended our holidays. It was a great end to the trip because it was the most luxurious of all our camps. The placement of the lodge itself was magnificent. I would highly recommend this lodge. It is pure eye candy! The decor was a dream and takes you to another time. We had excellent service and a personal experience. Our guide, Kitoi, had worked at other reserves and lodged for andBeyond and had exceptional knowledge to share! My husband had arranged a private rose petal dinner in our room for our honeymoon finally. Our Butler, Safari, was incredible and personable. He arranged the whole dinner. I was blown away by how beautiful the flowers were displayed and how they set up our room.

Great lodge at the crater rim, most expensive one

If not the best, one of the best hotels I’ve ever been in my life. This place was absolutely gorgeous in so many ways that I think I could write a book.From the moment you put a foot on their property they all make sure you will have the best time of your live. The place is so gorgeous that sometimes you think you are dreaming. They take really good care of the property. The rooms, the restaurant, the bathrooms, the lounge are, everything is absolutely stunning and theAfrican style can be more present. It is just unbelievable. The rooms has the perfect view of the crater and you wake up looking at it from your bed.I was celebrating my honeymoon with my husband and they organized so many surprises for us, romantic bath with rose petals, privet dinner with a Tanzanian choir...you name it they did it. They showed so much love for us. You can absolutely consider this place a LGBTQI+ friendly.I strongly recommend this hotel and we will be back here to spend a week.

This is by far the best lodge that I have every stayed at. The staff was more than welcoming to us. This was one stop of a safari we did for our honeymoon. Upon arrival, the lodge staff was there to greet us and to take care of our luggage.They had arranged a well done dinner for us with all of their staff singing and dancing. What a wonderful dinner. They even had rose leaves around the table for celebrating our honeymoon. Our room had one of the most amazing views of the crater. The room was really romantic and the staff had rose leaves all around the bathtub in form of a heart for us prepared with warm water already prepared in the bathtub.Everything was perfect and we will come back one day to stay at this amazing lodge again.

What a fantastic safari experience! The staff at Crater Lodge has great attention to detail and made us feel well looked after the entire time. We spent four nights here on our honeymoon, and it was definitely a romantic spot! The wildlife viewing is amazing, and our guide Aziza was very knowledgeable about every. single. thing. She had answers for every question that my inquisitive husband could think of! She was flexible to our needs and made sure we saw everything we wanted to see. She set up breakfast and lunch in the crater during our game drives, and helped coordinate our vacation outside of the crater with other staff. She also drove us into town for our covid test to leave Tanzania, and helped make sure it went smoothly! We would highly recommend her as a guide. Our butler George made sure we were very comfortable - always made sure we had drinks and a bath ready when we arrived back from our game drives, and went above and beyond to pay attention to anything we enjoyed! He had great wine and food suggestions, and made sure we were safe on our walks to/from meals in the dark with all of the wildlife nearby. Our housekeeper Julitha made our room feel very clean and sanitized every day, took care of our laundry, and creatively decorated with rose petals every day! There were plenty of covid precautions in place - the staff was diligent about mask wearing, hand sanitizing, and social distancing. We felt safe the whole time. Our only complaint with AndBeyond was related to logistics with our travel coordinator - due to the covid restrictions, we had several hiccups come up that turned into last minute firedrills. However, this was no reflection on Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, and the staff there were immensely helpful with getting everything figured out. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking to go on safari.

Lets start with the view: amazing! The entire crater can be seen from the deck of the restaurant and from every lodge. Even the toilet has 3 windows so you dont have to stop enjoying the view. On the deck at the restaurant theres binoculars so we saw zebras, elephants, hippos and wildebeasts even before we ever got to the crater. Truly amazing.The lodges themselves are something else; so much luxury. Theres free chocolates, coffee, tea, wine, cookies, bottled water everywhere and so on. When we got back from the safari our bath tub was filled and on the floor rosepetals in the shape of a heart. The next day when we got back we found the fireplace on and some lovely champagne.The food was very good as well, after diner we would be escorted back to our lodge because of the buffalos wandering around. Added to the experience.The people working at AndBeyond were so nice and fun, especially JJ and Ladislau. Leaving this place felt like saying goodbye to friends we had so much fun, thank you!

The view from the "office" is awesome. Also JJ and Ladislau were amazing hosts. They made sure you never want to leave again.

Fantastic lodges in Ngorongoro crater of five star classes

WOW! So impressed by this lodge. Joseph our guide was fantastic. He was so knowledgable about the crater and wildlife. He planned the most perfect safari and I was so impressed by his passion and professionalism. The team at the lodge was fantastic. They were incredibly polite and attentive. It truly felt like a special tailored experience just for my husband and I. Highly recommend staying here while visiting the crater.

Very nice accommodation, good service even though it took a while to get help to get our fireplace started on a cool evening. Top of the line African arrangements with matching pricing. Wonderful and knowledgeable guide (Azazia), Incredible location with unique view even with low clouds and drizzle on a middle October afternoon.

Rooms were a little dark but we opened the curtains and walked out onto our patio and there were three zebras within a few yards of us. Restaurant is great and the people very accommodating. The Crater is very special so include this on your safari.

This was an excellent experience for the whole family! We stayed at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for two nights mid August. We were warmly greeted at Lake Manyara Airport by our Guide Joseph. From the first second we got on very very well! The manager Irene welcomed us warmly, which was much appreciated as the outside temperature was barely 15°C!I deffinetly recommend to bring a few warm clothes for this time of year, but the warm people, especially our personal butler Peter, our manager Irene, and our lovrly guiee Joseph made this stay very worthwhile! Really good for safaris but you could work on the food and the heating. Since the Lodge is over 2000 meters on the Mountain you Fan be sûre that the night will be cold and à heated blanket just isnt enough

The legendary Ngorongoro Crater lodge is a once in a lifetime bucket list must do that few people will ever experience! Situated on the rim of the crater, the lodge offers sweeping views of the surrounds and the crater. The wildlife viewing is spectacular with many of the animals easily spotted and within the crater. The lodge is a sensory overload! Masai Versailles comes to mind! Opulent and decadent. Everything that you would not expect at an African lodge! Crystal, chandeliers, velvet, rich warm colours, plenty of it! Each room is spectacular and over the top! The views are breathtaking and you are spoilt daily by an incredible compliment of staff! From rose adorned, drawn baths upon arrival back from a game-drive to an in-room fireplace that is lit every night to stave off the cold. One cannot grasp or fully explain what an incredible place this is, one can simply experience it!

Ngorogoro Crater Lodge offers 3 camps within the location. They are part of the &Beyond Collection. Virtually everywhere you go in the room you have a great view of the crater (including from the bathroom and shower). There are two separate sink areas, a walk-in shower and soaking tub with a separate water closet. Our room had a fireplace, sitting area and large, comfortable bed. Wi-Fi in the room as well as several universal outlets. Nice touches included robes and slippers, and 2 glasses at each sink so you had a drinking glass and a place for toothbrushes. An added feature is the butler’s entry (an enclosed foyer area outside the door to your quartersso laundry and morning beverages can be delivered without disturbing you.Our butler, Missi, was excellent. He served us at breakfast and dinner as well as bringing us our preferred beverages in the room. He arranged thoughtful extras when we returned from our long game drive. Our guide, Zahkia was excellent and a pleasure to talk with. Daniel, the camp manager engaged with the guests and ran an efficient camp. The food was excellent with choices of starters and main course. The kitchen even packed a delicious bag lunch for us on the day we left -- as due to flight schedules, it would have been difficult to get a lunch any other way. Some of the animals we saw included lions, jackals, hyenas, elephants, wildebeests, zebra, cape buffalo and (of coursethe black rhino.

You won’t find a lodge with a more magnificent view of the caldera. We were greeted by baboons, buffalos and zebras on our porch after the game drive each day. The service is impeccable and hospitality exceptionally warm.

Location, location, location. This lodge has that in spades. Butler service, baths and toilets (and every other placewith Ngorongoro crater views. The teams are well trained and very attentive, they normally have some great wines in stock (and the house wines are normally good solid south african varietals). Easy to spend a day here doing as little as possible (well maybe a massagebut remember that active options can be incorporated too - walking at Mt Makarot for instance or a full day down to Olduvai gorge (also accessible on route to Serengeti). For some people this is over the top (Maasai Versailles), for others it represents a triumph of creative design incorporating a fusion of African (and westernflavours, but for me the fact that so many local Tanzanians are being trained to the highest standards in hospitality is a massive plus.

Words cannot describe our experience here. Everything is amazing. The view is actually breath taking. You are staying in a beautiful hotel on the edge of an old volcano that erupted thousands of years ago. You can look down into the crater and see all the amazing animals bellow you. Sometimes the animals come pretty close but they have Maori guards stationed around the grounds to protect you. I love this place. Every second was perfect. Good food and the best staff. Once in a life time experience!

Arguably the best lodge in whole Ngorongoro conservation area. The greatest of views to the magnificent NGORONGORO CRATER.

Absolutely perfect! Food was amazing.... fireplace and fire pits.... Rooms are spectacular with heating blankets, roses at our bathtub and chocolates.... Other guests were a blast! The kids and my sister and I had a blast playing card and board games with Ladis Lous!!! And then of course there is the crater! Kitoi Majenja and Mike Karantonis showed us EVERYTHING! I wish I could put it into words.... but it is impossible to do so. I cant wait to go back!!!!! Hopefully again, and again!Mary Kyle Holle

Luxury Lodge, food ok but staff not friendly.

Awesome lodge. Spent New Years Eve there. Great staff and facilities.

A hotel on the rim of a 12 mi diameter caldera in Africa the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge obviously sports a fantastic view. What is not obvious is the size of that hotel when you arrive and move about the common areas. Only the trip to your room at the end of a wing will reveal the true scale of the place and yet you would never know it. Also the service and the staff make you feel like you are the only ones there. Small well kept and well equipped rooms with a view of the Ngorongoro (no, there is no TVreally add to the experience. Dining is in buffet style and offered ample choice.
