Visited Andinos after hearing great reviews from friends. Being that I was by myself, I sat at the bar. The table servers seemed very friendly and jovial. The atmosphere is light and casual. The bartender during lunch, Terry, was attentitive and friendly. I ordered the veal picatta and added prosciutto and sun dried tomatoes to add to the dish. The presentation was beautiful and the dish was excellent. The lemon butter sauce was delicious and flavorful. I would recommend Andinos for a lunch or dinner experience.
Walked in for a late dinner. The fried Ravioli was a tasty appetizer followed by the Chicken Parmigiana which was very flavorful. The chicken was tender, sauce was on point with the Angel hair pasta was a good choice.
Somewhat unimpressed by this Federal Hill restaurant. It is a favorite with some family members so I was excited to try it. Drinks were good, but trying to be carb conscious i tried to order a steak and salad. The order of Sirloin Alla Mama came with a requested standard side salad with house dressing. I was pretty disappointed in the steak. I understood it was an Italian restaurant but Ive had better, more tender and flavorful steaks off my grill. I ordered it medium and there was barely any pink, it was somewhat tough and just overall unimpressive.
Andino’s is the best in traditional Italian cuisine! The antipasti, pastas, entrees, and yes, the desserts are outstanding. You’ll never want to leave the table. The wine list and drink offerings are ample and excellent. Hospitality reigns supreme! The staff are warm and welcoming, and service flows smoothly and graciously.
Although there are many GREAT places on the Hill, Andinos has always been a favorite of mine. Consistently good food, service and atmosphere. I cant wait to see the new patio area in the spring!
I haven’t been to this restaurant since 2008, and everything was still spot on, 5 stars across the board. Clams casino, magic just the same as I remember. Chicken saltimboca and linguini with clams were OUTSTANDING
We ate at the bar. The host was amazingly accommodating and Terri the bartender was terrific. We had linguini with clam sauce, lobster ravioli, Tiramisu and cocktails.
The food was excellent to the service by was the best weve experienced in a long time. Probably the most enjoyable dining experience weve ever had. Keep up the great work.
My wife and I came here for the first time today for her Birthday dinner and we were not let down one bit! Our server was very nice and attentive , the food was amazing. Cant wait to go back and try some other things on the menu !
Very delicious food and great choices on the menu. Authentic Italian dishes . The service is always excellent. I like going in warm weather to sit on the patio because the inside dining room is cramped and a little loud. Homey atmosphere .
The wait staff were so wonderful and the food was fabulous. The prices were fair and not overpriced. 4 of us were there last night for the very first time and we each enjoyed our meals, including espresso and desert, and all agreed that we would definitely come back again for another visit. I would highly recommend Andinos!
Slightly small, but comfortable dining environment. The bread was excellent and the saltimbocca was among the best Ive ever had anywhere. And all this taste bud tantalization came in at well under $20.
We really wanted to love this place. We were so ready to enjoy Italian food in federal hill. The service was great, but the dishes really disappointed. We ordered the shrimp fra diavolo and the clam linguine. For both dishes, the linguine was overcooked and clearly cooked in water that had not been salted. The fra diavolo was overwhelmingly spicy and imbalanced, and tasted like a heap of red pepper had been added to the standard red sauce at the end of the dish rather than being cooked through
The atmosphere is very friendly and casual. The filet special I ordered was phenomenal, portions were very good size. We ordered the old school fried Mozzarella delicious!Price was very fair for the nice dinner we had. Our waitress was very friendly. I would recommend to anyone traveling to Providence. It was busy make a reservation before hand.
I think the glory days of Providence Italian restaurants have come and gone. Our visit to Andinos, which many call the "best Italian restaurant in Providence", is proof.Andinos gets good reviews, but to a foodie who made a special trip, it was...meh.We started with the polenta app and the squash blossom special app. The polenta was a slab of cornmeal smothered in red sauce. Not recommended. The squash blossoms were tasty, but presented poorly, especially for a special. They looked like limp little rags swimming in a pool of butter lemon and wine. The squash blossoms actually contributed nothing to the taste of the dish. Our server was friendly but occasionally in a huge hurry. We had a nice chat during one of her visits to our table, but the next time she tossed things on the table as she ran by. She pitched our entrees onto the table like a paperboy doing a drive-by delivery. We had the lasagna and that was not a hit. Were talking a slab of lasagna about 4 and 1/2 in high and 5 in wide and 5 in deep. A brick. A block. Again totally smothered in red sauce. The center was cold. I would imagine they bake this up by metric ton, cut it into 5 inch slabs, and refrigerate. When you order it, and they slide out a brick, heat it, and throw some red sauce on it. Lasagna is difficult to make to order, obviously, but some are made in a lasagna dish and they are baked to order. Thats the kind of lasagna I would prefer. This "famous Italian restaurant" lasagna was no better than your friends moms lasagna. Your basic bulk Italian cooking. Definitely not "famous Italian restaurant" lasagna. We had a cup of the pasta fagioli soup that was straight out of a Campbells can. It was definitely not worth having. Skip it.If this is all the "best Italian restaurant in Providence" can toss on the table, then the glory days of Italian food in Providence are definitely over. Yes?? No??
The restaurant was very clean and inviting, with cozy seating that allowed for an intimate meal (which I thankfully made reservations for, even though it was Monday night, it was very busy). My guy didnt care much for that appetizer, but I thought it was delicious. We both enjoyed our entree, my shrimp was cooked beautifully, and the lasagna across the table was a winner along with its scrumptious meatball. Id go there again!
Went here for dinner, and it was an all around great experience. Friendly servers, delicious Italian food, solid drinks, and a nice atmosphere. Perfect for a date night. Enjoyed the Bolognese with burrata and we got the little dessert tray which was perfect.
Stay away from the snail salad, I asked for a loaded one, although it was my first time trying theirs, I bought it on a late Monday afternoon, opened it today out of the refrigerator (Wednesdayand they smelt like low tide and was just snails and romaine. Owner wasnt very pleasant when I called. He stated they only last a day and a half (which would bring it to todayand they are no good.
I had the Lobster ravioli and it was amazing, also the Sangria was very, very good 😁
Visting from out of town I trusted the many favorable reviews of Andinos. Our party of 8 was fairly large for Andinos but we were absolutely thrilled with our dining experience. Portions here are large and the appetizers plentiful so bring a hearty appetite. We also found the menu to be fairly priced and the dishes were expertly prepared. When I find a dish on the menu that is named after the owner I usually order it and such was no exception here where the Chicken Andino was delicious, (it can also be prepared with pork or veal). Our waiter, Eric, was very good and also took care to address our food allergy concerns. Btw, each of our entrees came with a full serving of pasta. Did I mention to bring an appetite.
Andino’s was always a favorite until last Wednesday evening. My husband and I ordered lasagna which is always delicious. It was served ice cold and had to be sent back. My husband’s wine had a living insect swimming in it. Both issues were brought to the attention of our waiter, Bo. He brushed it off and said it’s summer, there’s a lot of fruit flies!!!I called the manager, Carlos, a couple of days later to relay what had happened. He apologized and said he would call me back after looking into it. There days later…no call back!!!!!
Ive always wanted to visit this restaurant, due to my family name. The food is delicious, friendly and timely service and the ambiance is comfy and memorable! For apps we had stuffed mushrooms and calamari, very delish! My hubby had the special veal & calimari with enough for a second meal, if you could see his face as he took a bite, very satisfied! I had the lobster ravioli, savored every bite. Lets not forget a wide variety of specialty drinks, also yummy. We are definitely coming back for more. Love it!
Absolutely perfect! The chicken parm & lobster ravioli were to die for! For dessert we had the strawberries & cream, tiramisu & a cannolo. Exceptional! Our waiter was great! Thank you for the effort you put into such wonderful food!
One of our favorites for Italian. Got so lucky to be there during the few weeks they have squash flowers. They had a little different spin on them, egg washed and stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella. Amazing! Black fig martini is my go to there. Both the lasagna and chicken Zingarella were perfect.
Loud and busy. Waitress was friendly and efficient but restaurant/kitchen staff seemed disorganized. Food (pastas and braciolewere delicious except for husbands veal steak, veal was very tough(or he had a very dull knife). He was disappointed.
I just finished reading your response to customers who gave you a bad review. I have dined here many times plus take out. My experiences have been excellent. Great food, nice staff, pleasant decor and wonderful cocktails. I just don’t think you should lower yourself commenting on these reviews. It only makes you look unprofessional and rude. Just let it go.
From the moment my family entered Andinos we were warmly welcomed, setting the tone for a perfect family evening of dining. Some of us arrived a bit early, allowing a little time to enjoy a glass of wine with the personable bartender. The atmosphere, service , menus choices, delicious meal were extraordinary. Our server was engaging, humorous, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We never had to request "more water" as the gentleman politely filled our glasses when needed. When our food arrived, it surpassed all expectations of deliciousness!
Pink Sauce is too Die For!!!! Staff is amazing I’ve been coming here for years and shame on me for never leaving a review. They truly make you feel like family!!!! Pink Vodka sauce on everything that’s all you have to say lol so so good. Chicken Parm is hands down one of the best!!!!!!!
Best Italian food in Providence! 5 stars to all the lovely staff and waiters. They are all so wonderful and delightful. The food is always fresh and the staff is always so friendly. Thank you for the great service and food, highly recommend this restaurant. =)
Ive been here only 2 times, but there food so far has never been a let down. After the first time, my girlfriend couldnt get me to stop mentioning their ravioli for months. Definitely reccomend to anyone out there
Andino’s is the best in traditional Italian cuisine! The antipasti, pastas, entrees, and yes, the desserts are outstanding. You’ll never want to leave the table. Eric was our server. He was excellent and knew the entire menu. Great energy and overall made the experience dining here even better. The food was all amazing. We loved the bread, appetizer which was the sampler hot antipasto. I had chicken Parm and my wife enjoyed a custom meal prepared by the kitchen. Overall I highly recommend visiting here for a great meal and experience.
Stellar food and service! We had a mix of pastas and chicken dishes and egg plant and shrimp, and everything was prepared to perfection and served at just the right time. Our server Kate was very attentive and kept all the glasses filled and dishes cleared. The ambience was amazing and a very traditional Italian family dining experience. Thank you for hosting our family tonight Andinos!
I have never eaten a bad meal here and Ive eaten here a few hundred times today I have a half of a Caesar salad with anchovies. A Titos dirty martini with some blue cheese olives oh, and chicken saltimbocca that was so crazy fantastic. The restaurant is always clean friendly and knowledgeable staff. Theyre in the middle of finishing the renovation of the outdoor area. Stay tuned and keep up to speed. When that opens up holy mackerel its fantastic
ABSOLUTELY the best Italian food in all of Providence. A+ rating for hospitality and food. I would highly recommend Andinos to anyone looking for amazing food and a great environment.
This was the BEST dining experience we have ever had! Our server, Eric, was outstanding… Super friendly, knowledgeable about every item and drink on the menu, witty, smiling and making conversation through our whole visit. The cuisine was exquisite… we had calamari that was perfectly breaded and fried tossed with cherry peppers with their marinara sauce, the artichoke appetizer which came lightly fried and sitting on top of a delicate garlic butter sauce. For our entrees we had veal Parmesan, which was breaded and fried and super moist, veal Marsala, which was sautéed with mushrooms and wine and melted in your mouth, and garlic bread. The portions were very large, the ambiance was on point, and even though we live an hour away, we definitely will be making this spot our new fav. Worth the trip!
Great spot if your looking for real Italian food!! service was exceptional. !!!! I had a raspberry white chocolate martini... wasnt to my liking But others might enjoy! The fried ravioli were a Lil spicy but delicious 😋 and the past!!! Mm mm good!!
Fresh bread served with garlic olive oil dipping plate was great. Fried calamari served with mild hot sliced cherry peppers and side marinara sauce was tender on the inside and nicely crispy on the outside. Service was professional friendly and attentive.
The food here was very good. There wasnt anything I ate that I didnt like. Delicious food, nice candle on the dinner table. They were very busy so service was a little off but all in all very good food. For 2 people total came to 140 with 2 appetizers and a few drinks and 2 entrees. Their seating could be a little more comfortable and service could have been a tiny bit better. Lobster ravioli, chicken picatta, fried mozzarella, mozzarella antipasto, cappuccino and canolli for dessert. Would come again for sure.
Friendly staff, great service. Huge sangria selection - it was hard to choose. Everything was so delicious & the portions are huge! We’ll definitely be back again soon!
Have been quite a few times and all the food we have tried is always so good. This last time for lunch was no exception. My wife loved the Snowball Martini. The sangrias they have are very good as well. Will be back again.
I came here with my mother while on vacation. The food and service were both amazing, our waiter managed to be both personal and professional with us, leaving an impression of a true homey style Italian place. We were seated outdoors, and if you choose to come, I suggest you do too. The ambiance, environment and lighting made for a truly beautiful place (perfect for a date or romantic outing). Where the outdoor area was beautiful and quite, the inside was an energetic and loud environment, making this perfect for all types of diners. We are only in the area for a few days, but already have plans to come back.
We were visiting Boston from NYC and decided to stay in Providence for a night. We found this restaurant by searching for Italian food online. I’m usually so picky but this was of the best Italian foods that I’ve ever had. Taste wise, the food is the closest to Italy that I’ve found in the US. The portions were HUGE but didn’t compromise in the quality or the taste at all. The alfredo pasta was SOOOO yummy. Not bland at all- the sauce actually had flavor. The ceaser salad dressing was SOOOO creamy and yummy 🤤 Our waiter was a young man named Karan and he was so friendly, attentive, funny, and made us feel comfortable. The whole staff was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. Everything was amazing. Next time I’m anywhere near the Rhode Island area I’m 100% coming back here! 💜
Cute place with amazing staff. Sat at the bar and Kristen was amazing. Knew the menu and the specials well. Very attentive to my needs. Large portions! Ordered Cheese tortellini with pink Alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. Wild blueberry martini was great. Canoli was my favorite.
Top shelf! Fresh seafood special s , Italian classics done right. Knowledgeable staff that is friendly, sharp and smiling. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Andinos has got to be one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to, if not THE best. Its a cute little restaurant tucked away in Federal Hill. There is a dedicated parking lot across the street with 8 or so spots which is plenty. The restaurant itself is small interior wise. The tables are a little cramped if you fill them but that is tolerable. Fun designs adorn the walls and pleasant music drifts thru the place. It can be a little loud if there are a fair amount of people but not overly so.The staff was super friendly. They start you off with fresh bread and oil and water before you even have a chance to look at the menu. The menu has a fair amount of options that any Italian lover would be be happy to see.Arguably the food being the most important part of this review. By far I think this may be the best Italian food Ive ever had. The portions are healthy and the food was hot and delicious. The pasta tasted hand made and everything was seasoned perfectly. The only downside to this restaurant is the price. 2 meals and 3 drinks set me back 70 dollars and a healthy tip put me close to 100. However, it is 100% worth it if youre looking for a good place to sit down and eat.On a side note, they do offer (you have to aska limited kids menu and plenty of kid friendly drinks. Overall I highly recommend this place and would definitely return.
Amazing amazing amazing! The food here was delicious! But I think what made the experience top notch was our server Eric, he was by far one of the best waiters I’ve ever had at a restaurant! He was fun knowledgeable and knew our appetizer order before coming to the table (we had a loud excited party so he heard us while taking another orderI ordered a seafood dish and my husband got the chicken parmigiana both cooked to perfection. The calamari was out of this world I don’t know what they breaded it with but it was addicting and so were their ol blue eyes ( frank sinatramartini! Overall I give this place a 10 star and will definitely be a reoccurring customer!
Probably the worst Italian meal Ive had in my life. Service was ridiculously terrible as I think she visited my table twice and I had to wait for probably 15 minutes just to get her attention which failed miserably so I had to get somebody elses attention in order to pay the bill when I had my food just sitting there. I love chicken piccata but this take with scrod was absolutely horrendous and covered with capers in order to mask flavors. That being said, the Aldi prepackaged pasta and bland sauce left much to be desired after a $50 bill
This restaurant was definitely a mixed bag. For an appetizer, we started with the fried mozzarella, which was amazing. The drink I got (pineapple mango sangriawas also super yummy. Sadly, the chicken alfredo was incredibly heavy, the sauce was greasy and it was definitely a lot. My girlfriend got the chicken saltimboca, which was mounds upon mounds of cheese. It was good, however the cheese was excessive and it made the whole dish hard to eat. I think the atmosphere here is wonderful, but the staff was a bit awkward throughout the whole experience; in not only serving but also the host. For the price, we were definitely hoping for a better greeting as well as overall service. I hate to give this such a low review, because it has good bones, but we left disappointed and will most likely not be dining here again.
This place was amazing! The atmosphere, the food, and the service was a 10 all the way!! We had a great waiter named Phil who really made the experience a great and memorable one. The food was much better than I ever imagined starting with the stuffed mushroom caps!! Great lighting and relaxing aura, Custom drinks too!! A++
