Had a great time a Angies. Food was delicious and staff was happy to accommodate my mates and I at the last minute on a Sunday evening despite the short staff. I appreciate the hospitality keep up the hard work. I recommend the cheesecake.
The pasta we ordered was very delicious with lots of flavour and generous portion sizes however we did have to wait a long time which I can understand is due to staff shortages. We were impressed with the food but unfortunately the staff were very rude to us including the waitresses and owner.
Kindly stay away from this restaurant if you dont want to deal with a rude owner/staff. The restaurant is at a convenient spot & that is the only reason we chose to dine here though it had pretty bad reviews. The old lady is extremely rude and she can ruin the whole holiday mood.
OMG…. The pasta is out of this world.Service was very good, and staff were very friendly.Ski season…so the restaurant was packed with people lined up outside. The staff just kept going and going. Always moving fast, but still having enough time to check all was well at our table. Can’t wait to go back to have different dish of pasta.
Ordinary Italian food and very overpriced and that’s coming from an Italian. Even seen a couple of locals throw there pizza back at em on the floor in disgust.
Very busy. Very very busy. Fully booked with some free open table that may / may not be reserved for walk in customer (or we just lucky and the people who booked the table came a bit later and they can sneak us in).We got lucky for a table of 8 without booking.Food is very good and cooked very quickly makes for very happy hungry family (2 families group). Will definitely come again when the next time we come to Jindabyne again.
My friend and I were starving after a long day on the slopes at Thredbo. We were about to leave for our 7 hour drive back home. Decided to make a quick stop and we chose to come to Angie’s after seeing it pop up in google.I want to say that I don’t usually write reviews and I mean this as encouragement in desperate times of being understaffed.Upon entering this beautiful, Italian restaurant we were handed a menu and discussed that we were seeking takeaway options. Staff told us wait time was around 10 mins (which was accurateas we were one of the first customers. While waiting, we overheard the owner telling her staff she felt unwell and needed to be left alone for the night. Angie, it was beautiful to see your staff supporting you after expressing yourself.Later I spotted Angie seemingly very upset as she stood over the coffee machine. She quickly put herself back together. I smiled at her and she smiled back. As someone who has experienced hospitality work my heart was heavy for this woman. When our food was ready she was very Polite, gave us cutlery for the road and told us we might not finish because it’s such a big meal. We left excited and not disappointed!I ordered a red vodka pasta and my friend got the gnocchi. We ate on the drive home and the pasta was honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life! It had the perfect ingredient ratio and although the meal was indeed big I certainly didn’t have a problem finishing it because it was just so good.I completely understand being understaffed! But please, for your own well-being, take the night off! We as customers can see you are overworked!
Went out for dinner on Monday with a family and the restaurant was absolutely packed, which was great to see given the last few snow seasons. The staff (who were obviously running around like crazywere still kind, helpful and happy to help translate some of the menu for my uncultured vocabulary. There was a short wait for the meals because of how busy it was, however that was easily made up for by the quality of the food we were eating. I read several reviews both good and bad prior to dining here but the food and service spoke for itself. Would definitely recommend going here and experiencing the atmosphere and food for yourself
Delicious Italian food and amazing sticky date pudding!! Definitely will be back. Special thanks to Ben for being a great waiter 😎
Old school Italian restaurant. Excellent food. Great service. Eros Ramazzotti was playing in the background (if you’re Italian you’ll know). A good option from the deep-fried stuff you get at the local pub.
Last minute Monday dinner and we needed to be on the road within an hour. Some initial scramble despite many empty tables and our party of 6 was then finally seated. Orders were taken promptly, drinks delivered and the food was okay (mountain prices, as expected). It was also the first restaurant Ive seen in a while that was was not digitised... the calculator came out when we went to pay the bill that they refused to split.
Had a great experience at Angie’s! Despite it being extremely busy and understaffed Angie fit our table of 8 in with no booking. The food is pricey yes, however definitely worth it. Delicious hand made pasta that provides a more than generous serving. I have not eaten in an Italian restaurant this tasty in a long time.Compared to all the other places I have eaten whilst in Jindabyne this has been a stand out. All the staff were welcoming and accomodating of all our dietary requirements. I would recommend everyone who visits Jindabyne to come and enjoy an authentic, delicious meal at Angie’s Italian Kitchen.
The food was amazing, some of the best Italian food I ever had. A must go if you are staying in Jindabyne! Some reviews are too harsh and I think it people are upset the staff won’t cop their abuse/rudeness, but if your aren’t rude, the staff will treat you like royalty and will take care of you.10/10. Will be back for sure
Terrible service. Was told fifteen to twenty minutes for a pizza and waited over an hour. No update from the staff or the owner throughout. The restraunt was not even full. Pizza average at best. Do not recommend, or order with plenty of time in advance if desperate.
Authentic Italian experience !! Mouthwatering Sicilian handmade pasta, pizza dough, cheesecake, Tiramisu, sticky date, and lemonchino !! Fantastic customer service so accommodating amidst a very busy service, to seat a large table with no booking. Family friendly great atmosphere, felt like we were in village province of country Italy 🇮🇹 Thank you for a great night and we will be back for more!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We came around 5:30pm, ordered by 5:45pm. 50 minutes since we ordered and we are still waiting. Now is 6:40pm, still waiting. We ordered a pasta and garlic prawn, The table came after us has finished their pasta and pizza and left.So they can serve the table after us with pasta, they cant cook our pasta? Please don’t come to this restaurant.
Great Italian food - went on Friday night with 2 other mates, phoned earlier that day and Angie managed to get a table. Ordered Entrees, Pasta, Pizza and Coffee, all very good. Staff were doing a great job considering how busy it was. Perplexed at some of the reviews on here - what do you expect in a country town, in peak season, in the middle of a worker shortage! Have a bit of empathy!
Disappointed with our experience. My husband booked for a table of 8. We sat down, waited quite some time then realized no one was coming to give us menus so we went up to get the menus. waiting be served but realised no one was coming so we went up. The owner said we’ll be next so we sat back down. Almost 30 minutes went by, no drinks were served, neither was anyone taking our order. We tried to get the staffs attention multiple times but no one came so we ended up leaving. The owner stopped us and said she was coming but My husband told her we’ve been sitting there for half an hour already. Instead of just apologizing she said no you’ve only been waiting for about 25 minutes. If she apologized and sounded sincere about it we would have stayed and waited
Understand it understaffed, Angie herself came to take our orders and told us to hurry up. Witnessed her throw a bottle opener across the counter at another member of staff, I’ve had better out the servo. Wouldn’t feed the ravioli to my dog let alone the bolognaise, talk about garlic bread? I’ll get annoyed again. Feel sorry for the staff. DEAD
Pretty Good food, so good that we booked to go back 2 nights later. Angie can be a little abrupt but with a little understanding of what hungry skiers and holiday makers can demand from a small businesses in small towns, you’ll be right. We were just happy we found a place serving good food that the kids loved, and we would go back again as it’s better than paying for poor quality food that your kids won’t eat which unfortunately happens a lot in tourist towns. After a day of skiing all we wanted was good food and quick service. If you book you get the service.
I usually only leave a review if I had a good experience because I believe some days are bad days in hospitalityTonight the lady with blue hair, the owner? Well, you have mastered the rudeness and arrogance at our arrival but then the staff, very apologetic and nice, made us forget about our first impression… you mastered again in rudeness when we were leaving and paying! Just remember your clientele is there because of your staff not you! Plenty of other Italian restaurants around…hopefully not owned by you!! We will never put a foot again there!
I just had a really shocking experience tonight at the place. My wife asked for a table for 4 adults and 4 kids, and the old lady at the front, whom I believe was the shop owner, handed us a menu and asked us to check the prices and wanted us to make sure we could order enough, otherwise, she would rather leaving the tables for the others in the queue. I think she just doesnt like too many young kids, as they take the same number of seats, but eat much less than an adult. She then gave a table to a couple behind us. We walked out of the shop straightaway. Read some reviews out of curiosity, started to feel lucky that we didnt sit down, and then decided to leave, otherwise, might ruin my whole familys snow trip.
My family was trying to find a place to eat and stumbled across this restaurant which the door was opened assuming that we could eat there, my father asked one of the worker if he could serve us and he responded in a rude tone and told my father to have respect because he mopped the floor and my poor father had to apologise, in conclusion dont confuse customers !!!Responding to the ownerif ur door was clearly opened we would assume that you guys were opened and were serving breakfast, my dad apologised and didnt start conflict with you when he stepped on ur mopped floordont tell us to respect ur cleaning when you cant even use clear communication and shoo off customers like that regardless if u were opened on not.terrible customer service
The food was alright. They got our order wrong and made us pay for the dish (which was really pricy). When we inquired about the dish, they never got back to us or swapped it, so we ate it anyway. At the checkout we let them know about the mistake and the reply was, "we didnt have to take you in", which was quite rude.Expect to pay a lot. The food was alright.
Enjoyed very much our dinner tonight as we are here for the snow. The lady serving us was very friendly and attentive. Every dish is delicious. A bit pricy but worth it as everything is expensive these days. Relaxing atmosphere and good view. Congratulations to 40th anniversary to Angie and her hubby. 😊
I have a few points to consider about my experience at this place. The waitress (dreadlocks ladywas very polite and the food tasted good. However, my partner ordered a capricciosa pizza that was filled with tomato paste and cheese, a tiny bit of mushroom and a tiny bit of ham on each slice. I ordered ravioli of the day which tasted great but only 4 pieces.Unfortunately I have to say that in the end it was not a good experience as the restaurant overprice the food. I dont mind paying for a good food, but that wasnt the case. The bill was $83 for a pizza with a lack of ingredients, ravioli with only 4 pieces, a water and a beer.I believe the place has incredible potential, but clearly there is a management problem.
Service was prompt and very good, we ordered the Beef ragu spaghetti and the Veal Fungi which was nothing short of excellent and the best weve had. Big thanks and compliments to Sam the chef and all the restaurant crew. If ever in Jindabyne, Angies Italian is a must.
The best restaurant in snowy mountains area.Service is kind and quick, even if they have staff shortages.Kitchen is very organised, food was cooked in time and provided to us when it was still hot.The food itself was delicious! This place is worth going to, we will definitely come back there in the future. We have left 15% tip for the amazing service and for the delicious italian food made by italians.
Fantastic service and amazing food. The food was prepared within about 15 mins after we (me and my partnerhave ordered, despite reporting they were understaffed on the day. We ordered a trout main dish, pizza, salad and a garlic bread. The food was delicious, very well prepared. When we requested fish knife to be provided the waiter immediately provided it.We have been very happy with the restaurant and highly recommend it.
The food was absolutely delicious! The smoked trout penne was absolutely sensational! It was a tough night as it was heavily booked and understaffed, but the food was worth the wait. Wish I could’ve jumped in to help! Will definitely eat here next time we travel! ‘The Lady in Red’ ☺️
Extremely poor treatment of customers by the owner, numerous occasions where the waitress was rude and condecending, plastic was found in the food and we were accused of planting it there for a free meal with no sort of apology. Max was extremely polite and helpful and deserves a promotion. I would not recommend this resturant to my dogs dog.
Atrocious, DO NOT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT EVER.Staff do not know what they are doing, lady could not take order and had to wait for the owner to take our order, upon waiting 10 whole minutes I have decided I had enough and would like to order at the counter, and I was abused as I ordered my food. Not only did the food take a long time to come out, the food was also terrible and unbearable, My dog wouldn’t even eat this food and he eats cockroaches off the floor. If you are reading this review and are looking to eat at Jindabyne I suggest heading elsewhere within the complex, if nothing fancies you within the complex I would suggest driving to Canberra to eat as that’s honestly a better option!PS: The food is overpriced for what it is, I paid $80 for 3 items that I could get from the Woolworths frozen section at an affordable price and it would taste a lot better!
This is the first time I write a bad review about a restaurant on Google. I was verbally abused by the owner of Angie’s Italian restaurant today (lady with Blue hair). This is the first time that something like that happened in my life. I went to the restaurant, checked the menu, and decided to go to a different restaurant (the menu looked good, but it was a bit heavy for me). Angie stopped me at the door, and started yelling at me, screaming what was wrong and blocking me to leave the restaurant. She was extremely rude and aggressive. Shame!
Just had the most bizarre experience at this restaurant. Sat down to eat with my partner, however after reading the menu decided it was too heavy for our appetite. We were leaving when we were physically blocked and verbally abused by a woman (perhaps the infamous Angie?). She started the dialogue by asking ‘What’s your problem?!’. My partner was trying to be polite and advised that he was vegetarian and the menu did not suit us on this particular night. This obviously was the wrong thing to say as she started to yell at us for not reading the menu at the front door and generally berating us for what was just two people quietly leaving a restaurant. She created a massive scene in the almost empty restaurant, making everyone feel extremely uncomfortable. Sorry Angie, we will not be seeing you again soon. #rude #poor service #strange behaviour by a restaurant owner.
Angel goes through the same evening and will not be deterred from feeding you the best. She has hair the texture of a mermaid and eyes like dark mossy opals. Happiness here. And she loves the bright orange frock the Calabrese sent here. Love Katerina Guiliani
Authentic ItalianWe didn’t have a booking and it was Easter and busy and Angela got us in. This is authentic Italian and it was awesome. Fast and fresh and yum. The real deal here. Yes it was so busy and loud but we loved it, laughed a lot. We will remember this place for a long time. Thanks Angela, Sue and co
14 motorcyclists on a weekend ride : were left far from impressed despite a local recommendation . Reception and service were ok if a little forced and food came quickly . Unfortunately that’s the good points . The pizza was ok but get much better in LYGON St for half the cost .The pasta was bland according to all reports .. yet the prices are exorbitant ! Who charges $42 for sphaghetti ( even marinara ! and $26 to $32 for a medium size pizza ? Alcohol cost the earth . Garlic bread $9!? And at the end of the night with so many customers couldn’t be bothered keeping a record of who ate what leaving our organiser to try and work out each cost according to menu and delaying our departure ( & new customers being seated by 10 mins or more ! Many complaints about the cost the average being about $49 .. sorry guys ya gotta try harder ya get a two today
First time in Jindabyne and so glad we found this gem!!!! Angie is a fun filled character and this place has the most fabulous food! Prices fair food fabulous staff fun and friendly who could ask for more! We’ll be back!! Thanks
We had dinner here on a recent trip to Jindabyne. Service was homely and personal. Angie made you feel very welcome and was very accommodating with the menu. Loved the home made pastas and ravioli. Thanks for looking after us.
Excellent food with great customer service. We will certainly be dining here on a regular basis
3 blokes looking for a Friday night dinner after a few days of motorcycling. We had a wonderful meal at Angies. The service was excellent, we could really tell Charlie "wanted" us to have a great meal. The food was excellent, fresh, home made. We really had a top night. Thanks!
Delicious food and awesome customer service! The pasta was very creamy and flavourful! The dessert was even better leaving my stomach bulging! The staff were very kind and introduced the area to us as we had only arrived a few hours prior. I loved the food here and I highly recommend eating here!
My family and I have just had the best Italian restaurant meal we have ever had (and my husband is a former chef and second generation Australian/Italian).Angie, the host is down to earth and has a great big smile for all her guests and her staff are attentive and knowledgeable. We had pizza and seafood and chicken and pasta so we covered all the bases and it was all Fantastic.Prices are what you would expect for good quality large portions and our only regret was that we didnt leave room for Angies famous Tiramisu. There is no question, we will be back.
Had an absolute incredible McCain dinner at Angies Italian Restaurant! Owners were so friendly and eager to make our night the most fantastic! We were all fuelled up with the goodness and nutrients of McCain and ready for our snowboarding in the morning. With a waiting time of only 5-6 minutes to be seated, and the food microwaved within minutes at a markup of only 800% Angies is sure to deliver (microwave not included). An absolute authentic Italian experience that could not be beaten anywhere (not even in Italythank you Angie for your friendly service and for you and your husband leaning over our table multiple times and making us feel extremely comfortable and part of the family- absolutely would go back 10/10 can’t be beaten. Don’t waste time and effort microwaving food yourself, leave it to Angie.Ah McCain you’ve done it again.
This Italian restaurant is the worst one that I have ever visited. I booked a table but still wait 25 mins to be seated and the food came a hour and 20 mins after order. Btw another weird thing is there is only two persons can take customers order in this restaurant. The food is not acceptable at all and expensive. Waitress always say that they are busy but the restaurant is not even full seated. They are really really low efficiency as they fails in management. No services. No good food. DONT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT.
The owner is arrogant, the waiting time is too long. The service was totally massive, and we even waited 40mins to order after seated. The food doesn’t worth the time or attitude, not to mention the money. There is no truffle in pumpkin truffle risottos, only few pine nuts, and the spaghetti is like $3 Coles freeze food.
Lovely food, friendly service! Loved the pumpkin and truffle risotto in particular. Yummy!
Amazing! Such incredible food! We had the carbonara and the puttanesca, followed by white chocolate cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was to die for! Service was good. Will definitely be back!
Goodness on a plate. I am sure you can come over for this lunch from Canberra. Try the rossito especially the mushroom rossito and the smoke trout salad ♥ we will definitely come here again 🤗
My family was so happy with all the dishes we had. The pizza was packed full of ingredients and the spaghetti was perfect. We also had the fresh trout which was absolutely delicious. The prices are dear, however, you will get what you paid for.
