Angler's Paradise in Barton County
Weve been fishing and staying here for many years. We love the seclusion, the facilities, and the owners. We visit here a couple of weeks a year. Some of my best fishing stories come from here!
MoreAwesome place. Would recommend to anybody needing a relaxing environment and wanting to fish!
MoreIf you want a quiet, peaceful place with no internet or phone access this is where you go! We spent 48 stress-free hours away from everyone & everything.Of course the big one got away, but it was fun to experience and provided a great story for the fisherman.I would suggest that you bring bottled water & everything you need for your stay as the closest grocery is 25 minutes away.
MoreThis is a well kept secret for anyone that loves to fish but enjoys privacy. Check out their website. Book in advance because this is a popular place for those that know about it.
MoreNice location and cabins. Fishing is decent. Water supply to the cabins is highly sulphuric and you end up smelling worse after a shower than before.
MoreVery peaceful! Friendly owners!
Great place to fish
Ive been to Anglers Paradise twice now and will definitely be going there again soon -- and Im from St. Louis so you know that must count for something that Id spend 4+ hours driving to a private fishing lake on the Missouri / Kansas borderline.Ive been fishing all my life and know a decent lake when I fish one. My personal best bass caught from this fishing lake is 5 pounds and Ive caught numerous 2 and 3 pound bass. I have no doubt this lake holds 10+ pound fish.Once an old coal strip mine, this lake offers all of the right elements: 40+ foot deep water, lots of shoreline, tons of cover throughout, (rock, hardwood, brush, etc.and an excellent population of forage fish to keep the bass fat and happy. Did I mention its in a beautiful setting too?Don Kentner, owner and creator of Anglers Paradise, did an excellent job of packaging all the right elements for a good fishing trip. He has some very nice fishing cabins with ALL of the necessary elements, including sat TV, AC, kitchen, etc., to make a stay quite comfortable. Need a fishing guide to show you around the lake? Don does that too.Im not a hunter, but Id be remiss if I didnt mention there are some excellent deer and turkey hunting opportunities; I see deer out there all the time! And lastly, there are several "down home" and most excellent restaurants close by in Kansas, my favorite being Chicken Annies. I could live on their fried chicken! My thanks to Don for providing us this jewel of a fishing lake resort here in Missouri.
