Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in New Castle County

Ordered two pizzas for the eagles game on Sunday. I order or eat in pretty often and have always loved the food. The last few times we have had the pizza it’s been pretty bad. The pizza is cold when we get take out. The crust was rock hard. Very disappointed and not sure if it’s this location or what.

This food is well worth the price.

First time here and we had Leah as a server! She offered us sample wings which were delicious! Leah reviewed the menu and was so personable! The food delicious and the service EXCELLENT!! Thank you Leah❤️

Im from NY and this is the greatest tasting pizza Ive had in Delaware New Jersey or Pennsylvania prices are low quality of toppings are prime and good looking and friendly staff highly recommend this place also has a full bar I want to go their and hangout and eat and watch sports.

I stopped in after work to grab a pizza after my son suggested it. I definitely recommend going there, it was awesome. I had a drink at the bar while waiting for my order and the ladies at the bar great. I will stop in again soon.

Poor staffing walked in at 11:15. Website says they open at 11AM. Hostess refused to serve us she said we “don’t open until 11:30” a 15 minute difference in over a $100 lunch we would have spent

Food was very good and the service was excellent.

Their wings are great, and the pizza is usually pretty good. I would echo some of the similar complaints of others regarding having some overly burned crust… it doesn’t happen often when we’ve gone but we’ve had some crust that obviously burned all over at times. Service was attentive and takeout/pick-up is always a breeze.

This went from being my fav everyday place (in Wilmingtonto just one big disappointment. I think the short handed staff has hurt them. Take out orders are a mess. Last time I waited for a salad 1+ hours! They said they had to chop the lettuce?!This past weekend, I had to go back because the were messed something up and still got home to find no dressing.- so frustrating.I hope They pull themselves back to where I was at Anthony’s weekly…

I wish there were. Slightly larger selection of appetizers and salads. Pizza was so good.

Im giving this restaurant 5 stars because after several carry out orders during these trying times, from various restaurants, this by far is the best. The pizza was delicious and the salad was out of this world. Good for you guys for making carry out fantastic! You didnt even forget the extra salad dressing. TO ALL...STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT BURNT PIZZA EDGES!!! THIS IS WHAT MAKES ANTHONYS SO GOOD....CHARCOAL IS HEALTHY.....Excellent AnthonysBut ....Garlic Knots...They are seasoned perfectly with lots of fresh garlic and evoo but since fresh bread gets stale so quick you should store fresh baked rolls in freezer then take out per order and heat/ season per order

The garlic knots, eggplant and the Traditional Pizza were amazing. The cocktails not as much. This is now the worst mojito that I have had. Would go for a beer next time.

I understand charred but its a difference between charred and burnt . The wings were just plain awful and burnt . No char taste . The pizza wasnt great at all neither . The lemonade was watered down . The food overall had no flavor. I would never again return. Nor would I recommend anyone going to eat here. They need new chefs. Also waitresses pick and choose who they wanna give good service too . The one waitress I had has no personality or welcoming customer service. Never again

I called on Anthonys this past Thursday looking for a place for 50 people to eat on Saturday. The manager spoke to GM and called me back in 15 minutes to say they would take us. To say I was a little nervous to see how this evening would go was an understatement. However, the management and staff were nothing short of fantastic. We ended up with 60+ people. We needed extra chairs to which they found and found quickly. The wait staff were extremely kind, efficient and friendly. They took our orders in a very timely manner, the food was delivered quickly and efficiently. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection and delivered to all 60 of us as if we were a table of 4. The checkout process was equally as efficient. I just want to say thank you to everyone at Anthonys for making my 15th anniversary celebration a huge success. I highly recommend for a family of 4 or a large group. You wont be disappointed!!! 🌟🤩

I believed the hype and spent money on “dry rub” wings that are just the original wings cooked to rubbery death with a pile of spice just dumped on them in the takeout container. Dry Rub means you season them before they’re cooked, right? Not at Anthony’s apparently! Same with the Buffalo wings. I will never order wings from here again.

Nice staff. Great pizza hot out of the oven when you are dining inside. Crushed tomato sauce on traditional gives a wonderful flavor. Cauliflower pizza from their speciality pizza selection is delicious. Lemonade is okay. I would have preferred it to be a bit tarter. Coal oven pizza has a great crust.

Nice place. Generally liked the place and pizza but it was extremely salty.The salt killed the best part of the flavor.

I ordered a small pizza through door dash. When the pizza arrived it was burnt on the bottom. I make pizza at work and thats from not cleaning the oven . Please issue me a refund

I ordered online for a friend who is having a birthday the next day.I called to confirm and trying to put her (birthday nameon whos picking it up and it’s seems the girl don’t know what she doing.she hang up the phone 3 times and the forth time I called I talk to the manager and explain it.Alex I guess his name, he then fix and ready for tomorrow 12/28/21 for a pick. The day of picking up the stuff my friend told me it’s was a mess they couldn’t find the order and told her her “food is not there.” While the guy running a round trying to find the order.all the time the food is just sitting there in front of them omg a simple order that went disaster.they need to train the people who works upfront and knowledgeable bout the work they doin. Hope next time won’t happened this again. Store in Wilmington along 202 in concord highway.

Third time trying this place and this is the second time of the three we received a charred, burnt pizza. We were giving them a second chance but will never order here again. I understand this is coal-fire baked pizza and that there will be some variation in the crust. The first one we had from here was excellent. However, these last two are beyond coal-fired and are inedible due to the overwhelming burnt taste. Luckily we ordered through Door Dash and received a refund. Just a heads up for those who may be dissatisfied by this as we have been, especially for a $29 pizza.

After waiting an hour for our delivery, it arrived burnt and cold, this was my first time ordering from this establishment and it will be my last. I called them immediately and after speaking with 3 different people and having to explain my complaint I was offered a restaurant credit to which I flatly refused. Lets see how quickIy I get my full refund.

Can not say enough good things first time here food was amazing drinks were amazing service was great and the food was not over priced like many places definitely got our moneys worth and will be back soon

Pizza is thin and delicious. Wine menu is good. And beer selections good along with specialty drinks. Other items on the menu beside pizza. Great service.

Was shopping at Trader Joes next door and needed a quick dinner. Ordered two 16" pizzas for take out - $40 + tax/tip. Crust was burnt, although maybe burnt pizza is a thing now? Sauce was really salty. Dough was not chewy. Pizza was cold after a 10 minute drive home. There are plenty of other local mom/pop places in the area where you will get a cheaper, better, non-burnt pizza. Pats Pizza, Giordanos, heck even Grotto is better and cheaper. Look at the other reviews - there are months and months of similar comments, and they respond with some cut/paste corporate nonsense about how they will do better. Save your time and money, go elsewhere.

They were busy when we went, so I suppose they could be better during slower times. However, the pizzas were thin, overdone (as advertised), and not particularly good.The food is not worth nearly what they charge.

Just ate here last night. We had salad, wings (original and the romano), a margarita and a pepperoni pizza. Everything was great. The coal oven gives the pizza a unique taste which I like. The romano wings were fantastic. Our waitress Hanna G was very good, the best waitress weve had in a while. Timely with the food, new plates, napkins, drink refills, we were never waiting for anything or wondering where anything was. Overall a great experience, even though it is a little pricy for pizza it was worth it and we will be back.

We ordered the 37.99 family bundle today. Which consisted of a large pepperoni pizza and 10 wings. Already a rip off, but whatever. After a total of 52.69 (through door dashwe received one of the worst pizzas ever. There was hardly any cheese, the food was cold, the dough was stale and chewy. Felt like the pizza had been sitting out and was reheated. You should be ashamed that your product doesn’t reflect its cost. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Never ordering from Anthony’s again.

Very good pizza with a awesome family style dishes too! I went for a salad and dry rubbed wings to stay good on my diet based on my server Leah K. I had to grab a slice of my friends pizza which was awesome! Try it out, you wont be disappointed.

Had a wonderful relaxing experience this afternoon with friendly staff and great tasting pizza with cold refreshing beer. Kind of on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

We Love ACFP!! We sit at the bar, order bottle of red wine, large traditional pizza and large salad with tuna. Perfect Friday night date. Our bartender, Jennelle is the BEST!. Attentive, smart, funny, engaging and has a great memory. The new, younger waite staff can learn from her people skills, instead of being corporate shills with zero personality. Meat balls are like grandmas, fried onion or califlower are great dide for pizza. Wing are great too.

In town & Anthonys was recommended. Glad we stopped in. The garlic knots are crispy on the outside while soft on this inside with fresh garlic & parmesan. Wings were finger licking good, & wood fired pizza was on point!!!

My 1st & last experience with this place. I ordered takeout from this place this past Saturday. The pizza was not made with love at all. When I received my pizza & opened the box, upon looking at it, I already knew I would not enjoy it. It was an eyesore. The presentation was awful, the crust burnt to a very black hard & chard crisp & I was told by the staff that it’s supposed to look like that & I felt very disrespected by his disregard. Also, It’s not burnt on the menu picture. The items on the pizza was not evenly arranged in the proper manner, just looked thrown about. The marinara sauce under the cheese was not evenly distributed throughout the entire pizza & was only under the cheese on a few random parts of the pie, so 90 percent of the pizza just tasted like cheese & dough without the sauce & the pizza was not properly or evenly tossed. It was so thick and doughy in random parts of the pie. My $20 went down the tubes. I would’ve been more satisfied with a store bought pizza. Just like other reviewers mentioned, this place has gone downhill since the management changed. I’m assuming that’s the way of the world now. Because it seems like every time management changes somewhere, the place always goes downhill. So long to the good ole days.

Disappointed - I guess size does matter....I ordered online to be picked up curbside, had to wait 15 mins over my pickup time to get my food. Got home, opened pizza, and realized the pizza looked a bit small. . For fun i measured it (see photo -Imagine what the 10inch pizza must look like). Lessons learned - dont order curbside from here (i have been here a bunch of times and their food is goodand i guess you need to measure the pizza when you pick it up to make sure its the right size.

First time going here, wish I lived closer to go back for more. Please open a location in Dover. Server was great, friendly and helped make the experience very enjoyable. Pizza was super fast coming out, and was LOADED with real bacon and Italian sausage. No skimping on toppings here. Drinks cups were slightly larger than you would get most other places which was great. My mouth is watering again already just thinking about it.

It was our first visit after few of the friends recommended. We ordered cauliflower pizza and chicken wings and both were a hit with us. We will definitely plan to go again and check out other options on the menu.

Yummy yummy. The pizza is burnt just the right amount. And the topping are amazing. Also the chicken wings with the caramelized onions is a must try.

This is our absolute favorite pizza place. We usually do carry-out, but our dine-in experiences have been excellent as well. Clean restaurant, friendly staff fast service.Our favorite pizza is the fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella pie with or without sauce (both excellent). We usually top with EVO, cracked pepper and fresh Romano. Also reheats in the oven perfectly.Props to takeout for keeping the basil on the side so it doesnt wilt on the way home.

I was so thrilled to have an opportunity to dine here at this clean, contemporary, and vibrant restaurant which is known for its superb, tasty chicken wings with the caramelized onions, unforgettable seasoning and arugula. My best friend Jason and I savored the wings and were impressed with the fresh salad with the bulbous tomatoes, onions, crisp lettuce, and delicious salad dressing made the salad simply top-notch. Our amicable and beautiful waitress Taylor was undeniably efficient. She answered all our questions and processed our orders well. Jason remarked, "I will never forget my experience here. Awesome." I agree! The sizable restaurant has ample seating with wooden tables and an open concept floor plan surrounded by flat panel TV monitors to watch sports. I loved the incredibly rich and sweet New York style cheesecake. It was blissfully good. My beverage was refreshing as well. I enjoyed my raspberry iced tea. After yearning to see and explore the interior of Anthonys, I am pleased. I recommend this establishment to anyone interested in quality pizza, great dessert, phenomenal chicken wings, and a marvelous dining experience.
