Applebee's Grill + Bar in Otsego County

My family and I went to this Applebees for my wife’s birthday and had an amazing time. The food was alright and came out of the kitchen as fast as it could but besides the food there was one person that made our night amazing. Matthew C. was our waiter and let me tell you something about this man. He was so helpful with his recommendation to the menu and funny to boot. He made us laugh with his professional comedy that it made our night out to celebrate that more enjoyable. I don’t know if management will see this but in hope that others will I want to say we will be back because of Matthew! He is an amazing employee and we can’t thank him enough. Thank you for making our night Matthew I hope to anyone reading this that you ask for him as your next server trust me you’ll love it. 10/10 best night ever!!!

Good food, good staff, good place to eat

I got my food to go because I was driving through the area but what I received was great food and great service!

Ive worked at this restaurant, have dined in at this restaurant since working there. Figured instead of the local Chinese food spots we usually order from, or some other random place we order from, Id do Applebees, because I always enjoyed the food... Unfortunately, the take out order seemed to be a little lacking vs. the dine in food, portions didnt seem the same. Meal cost me $63 and change, left a $10 tip, drove home and opened the bag, disappointment... Called and spoke to manager, kind of got the cold shoulder...my grievances were responded to with denial...while staring at portions of food that I personally know are not the same, as a previous employee... And a person that has dined in since.... Wouldnt recommend take out from this place... Youll be left dissatisfied and disappointed.

Its always been my favorite place to eat.

Not as good as they used to be but its still good for a quick dinner. I hope and wish that they would bring back those piles of garlic mashed potatoes with beef tips and the chicken ! They need to make the mixed drinks better and stronger also !

Chicken was burnt, and beer was flat. Everything was corrected for us though

Terrible terrible service, didn’t see the waitress after she brought out drinks, ate our food (brought by someone else), and still didn’t see the waitress. Had to ask the hostess for the check and boxes for food (she was very nice), when the waitress came over I said we get a free drink bc she only recommended Pepsi products (normally wouldn’t do this but I was annoyed to pay for anything with the service received). The manager came over acting condescending saying that Pepsi products counted as recommending their signature drinks trying to say his employees recommended but he was doing me a favor. Honestly he just seemed like the waitress and him have rendezvous and that’s why she’s doing such a horrible job compared to every other waitress. All in all we were at Applebees for over an hour saw the waitress two or three time when ordering, would of had more drinks but she was no where to be found (literally in the whole placefor like 45 minutes. Most of dinner was spent wondering where she was

Ordered 2 of the two for 22 dinners for takeout. Should have questioned the bill and checked the food. Bill was $65. Not sure if they came with a drink but got 2 small sodas. Got it home and discovered that some of the meals we ordered were missing food. So not only was I charged to much but only got pat of what we ordered. Not impressed with the Oneonta NY applebees

Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, service by our server, Nicole. *****All three of our lunches were prepared exactly right, and very good.Steak, mashed potatoes, side of $1.00 shrimp, fiesta chicken, spinach with and hamburger with fries.Our compliments to Nicole, other server, Mgr, hostess, and KITCHEN TEAM.

Horrible! We were in the area for a baseball tournament, stopped by at 9 after our last game. There were 2 people at the bar and 4 tables occupied and a bunch of staff just standing around. We waited almost 10 minutes just for someone to approach us. When a hostess finally came she said it would be a 30 minute wait. We thought she was kidding because the whole restaurant was pretty much empty and staff just standing around but she was very serious and not friendly. We felt like they were just trying to get rid of us so we decided to order takeout. The food was cold and stale tasting. We love Applebees but not this location. Do not come here.

Forgot my purse, it HAD $200 in it when I forgot it, it had $0 when I got it back...they dont have any idea who gave it to them, and never offered to question whoever it was handed to. On top of that, my husbands burger was dripping blood when he aked for NO PINK. Avoid this place.

Me and my boyfriend always request Matt , he makes the whole experience more enjoyable everytime we eat there, the food is great as always, will definitely be returning!

Waiter was professional and personable. Food was good and came timely considering how packed the place was.

Our server, Matt, was absolutely amazing! Great personality, not at all intrusive. Food was good. An all around pleasant and enjoyable meal!

Food *Yummy as always *Clean *Waitress, she was on top of it. Ask for the girl with the flower tattoos.

Service was slow, but food was great! It was also a nice perk to get free movie tickets with dinner. Hopefully the company partners with Fandango again.

My absolute favorite place to eat, except for tonight May 12 2022, the place did not seem that busy, there was 4 of us, we waited for our appetizer, had 1 beer gone before we got our meal, ordered another, never came until my meal was about gone, so I canceled it, ordered a water, was charged for a second beer, the waitress had to have the manager take it off my bill, not once did the manager show his or her face to see what the problem was, we were there over an hour waiting on food.....wont be going to that Applebees at night again!

All their food is dry and overcooked. Especially their burgers. Felt like they baked it and then nuked it in a microwave. 30min to get salad dressing for a salad we ordered and mayonnaise for a burger we ordered after the meals were already brought to us so by the time the condiments came the food was cold. Id rather go to mcdonalds. Atleast theyre consistent.

We had a great dinner. The service was fantastic. Matt was our server and he was top notch. We have kids and it was great for the family! The food was great too!

The appetizers were hardly Luke warm, and they tasted terrible, forgot to put onions and mushrooms on steak , no broccoli either! I will never eat there again, waitress was nice but too quick I was trying to tell her something about the food and each time she ran off! If you want a good dinner I suggest one of the local diners, or other restaurants! $75 waste!!

Our server was wonderful, attentive personable smiley just a wonderful person. Our food was hot fresh and absolutely delicious! We were there today on Super bowl Sunday they were packed but did a absolutely perfect job with everything....kudos to our wonderful server Matthew in Oneonta Applebees that made our night.

5 Stars for the great food!! Our waitress was a nightmare though. She couldnt find the menu or the coffee cups for our coffee?? This Applebees clearly needs more competent servers for there business. Our waitress was lost and a total joke!

Kids menu had great choices and combinations. The meal was timely and tasty. Service by Matt was fantastic. Well priced but it was pretty busy. No one minded we were loud and having fun.

My chicken sandwich was divine, but the service from our waitress Nicole was phenomenal. She was attentive to all her tables and was just amazing.

We had a great night with family and friends on October 1 and Matt was our go to amazing waiter for the night. Matt and the entire staff made my birthday night awesome !!! We are from Yonkers and were spending a weekend at the New York Safety Track and Matt was spot on from the very beginning to end. The food was amazing and fresh, the drinks were awesome and the team was very professional, courteous and not to mention the Restaurant was very Clean !!!Thanks again Matt and the entire Staff/Team.

Potatoes ordered was mashed, but the potatoes we got was chunks with a little mashed potatoes around the chunks,a d they were brownI ordered rare steak, however what I got was so tough and well done that I could not chew it. Manager did replace the steak meal

We were in the oneonta location for dinner tonight. My son has a severe dairy allergy and the manager and staff were very understanding and helpful. Waitress Snowi was eager to please. She and Cait took great care of us, checking on us and bringing what we asked for right away. No one ran out of anything to drink and when we had a spill they were quick to help us clean it up. Excellent friendly staff and very pleasant service.

We ordered several dishes approximately $75 dollars and normally the takeout is better than dine in when they usually send out overcooked,burned food covered in sauce (to hide that they have burned iton nuclear plates (meaning they have microwaved itand yet the food is always cold? Servers are never to be found (you should hope your never choking waiting on your drink to be refilledand yet when it comes to paying the check almost immediately your server is super attentive. Definitely this place needs new management or retraining for better service throughout this establishment from the back of the house to the front.

My boneless chicken wings were raw in the middle. Absolutely not acceptable.

I was excited about the Strawberry chicken salad and if I was lucky there was three strawberries and no chicken. I had to ask for the chicken which came out dry and hard.

My boyfriend took me to Applebees in Oneonta, Ny tonight for an early dinner, The food was great but our waiter Tim made a comment to me that he thought was funny but I took it as being rude. We would of left him a better tip if it werent for the wise crack. It made me feel extremely embarrassed. I hope he thinks before he speaks in the future.

Its okay. Food is standard chain restaurant fair - generally tasty enough but nothing amazing. The restaurant itself is designed so that it feels weirdly crowded no matter where you sit, and sound carries terribly- we spent half of our lunch listening to the woman across the wall from us loudly ask numerous questions about dog adoption on her phone. Service was alright - a little slow but she was working a very full restaurant.

5 stars is for our waiter Jake. He was phenomenal. He was very attentive and funny and we enjoyed our interaction with him. The food on the other hand left a lot to be desired. My sister and I both ordered the chicken fajita roll up. It was basically a lettuce roll up. I had 2 tiny (not even bite sizepieces of chicken in the entire roll up. If you advertise it as a chicken fajita roll up, in my mind, there should be strips of chicken, peppers and onions with condiments on the side. Very disappointed in the food, but very much enjoyed talking with Jake. Great job Jake!

Slow to be seated with a barely full dining room. Food was quick to come out but was really terrible quality. The beef nachos had maybe 2 tablespoons of beef sprinkled on top.

The food was good! The waiter was not on his game ,took him 35 min to take our order.never brought plates so we could share our appetizers. It took forever to get the appetizers cause he admitted he gave them to another table. Had to ask for salt/ pepper 3x. Never asked about refills . When we asked for refills we never got them . Took another 15 min to get our check an take home boxes.

We ordered online for a door dash delivery to our motel. We were very satisfied...at first. The restaurant manager called to let us know the driver had picked up our order and but that they had forgotten to put something in the bag, he asked if I could see if the driver could come back for it and that if not he would send an employee it over with it. When the driver came I asked and he was willing to go. After he came back the second time though, we were still missing items. I called and spoke to the same manager who this time asked if I could come to the restaurant to pick the missing items up. I could not. He no longer offered to have someone bring it over but instead said he would leave a note for the day time manager for the next day for me to come get want I was missing as well as 2 appetizers for the trouble.awesome, right? When I went the next day the staff was rude and accused the door dash driver who went out of his way to make an extra trip for me of "having a good dinner" I have eaten here numerous times and even ordered online for delivery before and never had such an experience.

I have to say the food was good and the waitress and hostess were really nice. The only thing I didnt like was that Applebees is forcing people to scan a bar code to view a menu. My phone would not scan it. When I asked for a traditional menu I was given 1 menu to share with the whole table... really Applebees? Is it that hard to wipe down plastic menus? I should not have to use my phone to look at a menu in a restaurant. 2 thumbs down for that. It will impact where I decide to go in the future and Im sure I am not alone.

Walked in, not terribly busy, was seated. Then remained seated and ignored for 25 minutes. Got up and walked out. Have a high tolerance and understanding if a place is busy or seems short handed. No problem with waiting or being patient as they catch up. But to not even be acknowledged by any staff, no "Hey Ill be right with you" as they walk by or "We had a little problem but your server should be available soon"... ANY kind of check in and we would have been just fine with waiting. Have eaten here many times before Covid and always had a good experience. This was the first after opening visit and wasnt impressed. Hopefully it was just an aberration due to outside circumstances and not the new normal.

Dined in for dinner. The staff all were friendly and used safety and health protocols enforcing social distancing and masks. There was a short wait but the texting system made it helpful when our table was ready. The service staff were friendly and fast and attentive to the tables. The food was great we were all very happy with our dishes. Definitely worth a stop!

The Oneonta Applebee’s is Terrible. I went there on 9/26/2020 for my brothers birthday Dinner with multiple family members and we were waiting almost an hour for a table to fit everyone even though they said it would only be a 25 minute wait. After they finally got the table they promised us clean, they tried to give it to another group of people that showed up after us and tried to tell us we had to split up at separate tables. In the end they gave us the table they originally agreed to give us but we had to debate with them to get it.After we all got seated together, we had to wait another 45 minutes to an hour before our food actually came out. There was 2 other tables being eaten at in the whole place!!! 4 of us got food that was not cooked the way we asked and barely eatable!!This was not the first time I had a bad experience there! The last time I was there, I got moldy potatoes and rotten steak. Stopped going there for years for that reason and I knew I’d regret going back, but it was my brothers birthday and that’s where he wanted to go so I figured I’d give it another shot. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! WORST $60 I ever spent!!!HOWEVER, our waitress this most recent time was AWESOME!!! And the birthday song and dessert the waitress set up for my brother was incredible!!! Again, AWESOME JOB from the waitress!!!

Waiter was truly attentive, I wasnt a 3/4 of the way done with my drink he was asking if I wanted another. He recommended a beer to pair with my dessert, so that I tip my hat off to you good sir. Many thanks. A great atmosphere and wasnt too rushed to order.

We went to Applebee’s for there special, all the Shrimp, ribs and Boneless chicken . The waitress was awesome. We love to eat out once in awhile and we had a great time. The waitress kept the food coming and she was friendly. She did above and beyond ,most of the waitresses at restaurants.

The steaks we ordered were all under cooked. My entire meal was cool like it had been sitting for a while. This was supposed to be a celebratory dinner for a promotion I got. We all regretted our decision to go here. Will not be coming back.

My experience at this Applebees location has been amazing. What makes my experience here personally great, is the service. Our waiter Zac whom weve had multiple times has always been nice, efficient, and overall awesome. The food here is tasty and they usually always have some sort of deal in regards to food and drinks. I always enjoy my time here and the staff are very kind.

Came in and was told a 10minuets wait, no problem. Get seated and wait for a 30 minuets for food. I ordered the Battered shrimp. It comes to the table, with limp batter no crispness, cold and grey in color?! At least the shrimp wasnt over cooked. The waiter was wonderful and was trying his best, you can only get food out as fast as the kitchen cooks it and alot of people were waiting around us. I cant understand the long wait for food when the wait for a table is only 10minuets at the door.

Friendly festive atmosphere, with servers and environment decked out in Halloween attire. The menu contained a variety of tasty dishes and the cold beer was perfect as always. The wait time for the food was very acceptable and the brisket tacos were delicious! We were greeted by Denise, the hostess ... a very friendly and knowledgeable employee who made our visit a memorable one. I would definitely visit again.
