I waited 3 months for a regular dental hygiene appointment, last second they cancelled my appointment. They offered a new appointment 4 months out. Go with your local Dentist rather than this company, saving you a headache.
I had my teeth pulled in June theyve given me two soft liners since then do not fit well drool cannot lick my lips or eat I keep asking when am I going to get some teeth but they keep sending me the wrong liners and they charged me for it and I paid up front and theyre not doing anything about it so here it is October and still have no teeth never will go there again they just keep on giving me excuses to benefit them and not me so now Im out $1,800 and I have to find a new dentist
Easy to get a convenient appointment, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly personnel
Aspen Dental was good. I just keep getting email asking me to review them constantly.
Finding a dentist in central Maine can be tricky given the wait times for an appointment. I felt stuck with Aspen Dental in Waterville and do not recommend them for your dental care. The dentists, while friendly, are not the best. One of their dentists accidentally cut my spouses tongue. Later, I had a crown put in only to discover a year later from another dentist at a different practice that it was put in incorrectly (Ive been having sensitivity). Now I have to do all over again. I strongly recommend you go anywhere else if you have the option.
Aspen Dental staff were very polite and answered all of my questions. Unfortunately they dont accept Medicaid (MaineCarebut didnt let me know that before my appointment. My initial exam was free, but it is going to be very expensive getting my dental work done.
This was, without a doubt, the WORST experience. My wife woke up with serious pain in her lower front teeth. Being a Friday finding anyone to look at her was hard. We wound up driving over an hour to get to the one place that might be able to fit her in. After paying a "walk in" fee. We sat around for a while. Finally they DID fit her in.My wife brushes her teeth for five minutes twice a day and flosses, literally, every time she eats anything. The dentist went out into the hall (where my wife could clearly hear herand told the hygienist that it wasnt a teeth problem, it was a hygiene problem. He wouldnt make any recommendations as to what she should do. He wrote a prescription for penicillin (and his front desk sent it to the wrong pharmacy and didnt send any of her information with it. We asked for Walgreens, they sent it to a local place that didnt take out insurance).I definitely would NOT go to this or any other Aspen Dental.
Dr. Barker, Kristen, Patty Jo and Kati were awesome. Very relaxing experience.
Great experience in The Waterville office. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful The entire Team made Me feel comfortable. Reann was fabulous explaining everything to Me and coming up with a complete treatment plan. I would recommend them to everyone ex specially if your apprehensive about going to the Dentist.
I hate going to the Dentist! At Aspen Dental everyone was pleasant, helpful and Informative. Everything was straightforward, you were given the overall picture from beginning to end. I appreciated the experience that each and every Caregiver gave, they are all unique People to help and explain. Thank You to All the Staff at Aspen Dental. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I found Aspen Dentals personal all were extremally well qualified, personable, polite and helpful. I have a hearing problem and often dont hear what people are Saying.to me. All their personal were extremally considerate and patient with having to repeat themselves to me.It was a very pleasant experience working together with all of them.I will highly recommend Aspen Dental to anyone who needs dental care.
Staff was very helpful and pleasant. They answered all my questions and calmed my fears. I have set up more appointments with them to get fillings. I have hope for the future. :)Raeann and Alyssa were wonderful! They took the x-rays very quickly and provided patient care quite well.
Very professional, to the point, up front with everything they recommend. I knew what it was going to cost before the work was done. I am very pleased with the service.
My first visit was very thorough. They inspected every tooth and gave me a (verbalplan for future care. The staff is very professional, but they do talk fast and I should have requested a printed copy of the plan; it was not offered. I will go back to continue treatment.
The doctor and nurse at Aspen dental were very prompt very gentle and I am definitely going to get the rest of my teeth done at Aspen dental in Waterville Maine I rate them five stars
Everyone always has a positive attitude always willing to make Make you happy and satisfied while there. You can every time Ive gone in Ive never had to wait theyve got me right in and when I have an an issue I went back and they Then you squeeze me right in to see the dentist to take care of the issues that I had. I would refer people to Go to Aspen dental and I will continue giving them my services
I was very happy with aspen dental, from the first time I called to make my appointment to first visit, they were all knowledgeable and professional
I’m not a big reviewer but the best dental decision I made was canceling my appointments with Aspen. I came to aspen for bad tooth pain. I went to multiple appointments that were scheduled months apart and they never addressed my biggest issues. It seemed their biggest concern was my money. I moved on to another dentist and was out of pain within the first visit, something aspen could have and should have fixed months before. I do not recommend Aspen to anyone especially if you are in immediate need of care. This place seems to be a joke to other dental professionals I’ve seen in the area!
I was prepped for a crown on a lower side tooth today. It involved re-imaging the affected tooth area, drilling, and the prep of two crown measurements-- the temp crown, which is now installed, and the peranent crown which will be installed in mid-April. I was given novicane by injection (after skin prepand treated with skill and professionalism by both a tech assistant, who did all measurements, and the DDS, who was great. They were pleasant, the drilling did not hurt, and the task was accomplished within its given time. I recommend Aspen Dental.
I have never felt more safe than I did with my appointment at Aspen Dental. The doctor that removed my wisdom teeth made me so comfortable, and educated me through the entire experience. And the dental assistant continuously made me laugh. I would recommend this place to anyone! :)
The hygienist was very nice and knowledgeable and the finance people were also very helpful in explaining the payment plan for a procedure I was interested in.
Great Dental choice. I was a walk-in. I was greeted and was seen very fast. I will recommend Aspen. Thank you
I was very happy about everything with them. I came on a Friday and they got me an appointment the following Monday at a time that was good for me.When I got there they had me fill out the regular paperwork and before I could even get that done they called me in. Before I knew it I was having an X-ray, then into a room to see the dentist.I had what I needed done right off. I was in and out just under an hour. The people were very nice. Professional. Make you feel comfortable.
I’m not one to give poor reviews lightly. I’ve worked in customer service my entire life and been a provider of healthcare for the last decade. This is the worst example of care I have ever experienced. It started on Jan 3, 22 I had an appointment to examine a loose permanent crown. All went fine. I had a full exam, updated X-rays, etc. and was informed I would need a consult with Dr. Oakes for a dental implant which was scheduled for 4 weeks later. This is where things took a turn. I was called from an employee named Katie 4 hours prior to the day of my consult and told they had to cancel due to an emergency. I was also told that the dentist who performs their implants no longer is seeing patients in Waterville on Thursdays but I was more than welcome to set up an appointment in South Portland(2 hours, one way). I asked Katie if the consult could be performed virtually via zoom or telephone in which case I would drive to south Portland for the procedure. She said she would check with Dr. Oakes and let me know. A week goes by and I haven’t heard back so I called to check in and left a message with the receptionist for Katie to call me back. I called again the following day and left another message with the receptionist for Katie to call me back. Later that day I received a call from an employee named Cassandra and she informed me that she spoke with Dr Oakes and he said he can not take on my case at this time….I said okay, can you tell me why? She said, “ I am not allowed to question the Dr. That is his rational.” I asked for a referral for another consult and she said they could not provide me with one. I then asked to speak with the manager and was told she was with patients and would call me back. Well, here we are 2 weeks later and I never received a call from the manager. I know this is a long story but I this is my rational when it came to this giving this poor review.
The hygienist earned one star and the woman who took my money earned the second star. Everyone was professional but they were cold and lacked compassion. I was not asked what I wanted to do, I was given two options. Neither of which I wanted or could afford. I also have chronic PTSD and warned the hygienist (she was compassionateand the dentist (he brushed me off). Then they tried to sell me a $120 dollar electric toothbrush without even asking if I wanted it. I will not be going back.
Very caring and patient staff. It was a nice change having the hygienist and dentist both explain what they were doing . Very nice visit , nice change from the usual hurried rough visits!!!!
I have had a great experience with my dentist and his assistants during my whole dental plan from start to finish at the Waterville Maine office.Very professional but with a great sense of humor which is very important to me.I will recommend Aspen dental to anyone I know that needs dental work.
I recently visited and had the full x-ray and exam experience. After seeing all of the kind and gentle dental assistants, the dentist was rather brunt with me. He crossed his arms and was not impressed that I have experienced a LOT of dental trauma, and I am requesting all teeth be taken out and get dentures. He was disappointed that I refused fillings and root canals, again arms crossed and not understanding the past dental trauma Ive experienced. After re-examining my own teeth in the mirror, there are obvious signs of dental decay in the front top on at least 2-3 teeth. I am requesting all of my records be sent to me. I also am upset that my dental insurance was canceled by the government when the marketplace switched over from federal to state. So without my knowing, or choosing my dental insurance was canceled. I am tired of jumping through so many hoops only to be met by an arrogant dentist who does not understand dental trauma.
My visit to Aspen dental was great. It was my first appointment and from start to finish, everyone was professional and kind. Booking my appointment was easy! Upon entering the office I was greeted by Chrissy. She was very helpful, explained what I needed to sign and fill out. I was nervous to go into see the dentist, but Alyssa the dental assistant put me right at ease. She was caring, took the time to answer all my questions. Then Dr. Barker came in did an exam, was very nice, explained to me what needed to be done and it was over. Lastly I was greeted by Amanda, the office manager, who kindly brought me into her office. She explained the cost of all procedures plus different options available to me to pay for ALL the work I need to have done. Thanks Aspen dental for your kind, judgement free care!!!**Special thanks to Chrissy D. who was even kind enough to come out and give my truck a jump because my battery died. I am so grateful for the help!!! 🙏🏼
I love Aspen Dental. They are so professional but also just so nice! They explain everything and are always attentive to questions and concerns. I also like that they dont keep you waiting and waiting... All in all a great experience!
People were nice but expected a cleaning and never got one. They give you a check up then schedule you a year out for a cleaning. If I had known this was their methods I would have gone elsewhere and had my cleaning already done. What other dentist office does that? None I know. They dont mention this in their introductory phone calls. Dought that I will be back for that one year out cleaning.
The will grind and chip your teeth that werent even supposed to be worked on. Also will charge you for an evaluation appointment and make you come back MONTHS later to get the actual work done, even if youre in pain and feel its an emergency. Dont go here! The receptionists are awful and mean and the doctors will try to get you to do more work than you need done for the money. Find a local doctor! A good local one got me right in the next day and did the work during the first appointment rather than Aspen trying to clean out my pocket and make me wait forever.
This practice is excellent. Very streamlined, and is equipped to manage routine dental care, and complicated care.I went to Aspen due to a cracked porcelain veneer, and was very satisfied with the entire team. The visit was comprehensive to include pricing and review of next steps. It was great to finally find a dental home that can manage routine and other dental needs.I was very happy with the staff, they were professional, competent and efficient.I was seen at my appointment time, and their equipment is all state of the art.Aspen is my new dental home, a one-stop practice that offers multiple services.
Had appt. for impressions. The female assistant was great. Using care to take the impressions. Answered all questions fully and politely. The male assistant was gruff using some force and hurting my mouth.
Very friendly staff. So glad I decided to give them a try. The only thing I did not like is that it was my first visit but I didn’t know I wasn’t going to get a cleaning that day as well they were just taking pictures & gettin information. Your cleaning is scheduled for another day. I was lucky & they had an opening the same day as my initial appointment of I didn’t take that one I would have had to wait until November to get them cleaned. Maybe a little heads up to future people about this.
Aspen Dental in waterville maine is where I go. Im not impressed at all. Lots of students there with loud music playing, workers on their phones, unorganized and not on the same page with each other and patients.. scheduling is redicoulous.. I paid 60 percent of my work in cash months ago and here it is 4 months later and Im just now getting impressions ? Which they told me last meeting would be extractions so I planned to not drive and need a ride when I didnt even need one.. They emailed me that I had an appointment, but I show up and it was for my father and they messed that up.. This is my 1st and last time ever going here. Better supervision, training and management is desperately needed..
The front office staff are very unprofessional. The woman that sits at the front especially. She is rude, has inappropriate conversations with patients, has inappropriate conversations on the phone, Speaks badly about other staff, speaks badly about patients, and just has an over-all poor attitude toward others. Nobody wants to hear about her "old age problems", as she calls them. We all have enough of our own. She really should not be putting down co-workers. It is so uncalled for. You also have a dentist there that doesnt have a lot of experience, or if she does she doesnt prove it by her work. I had bridge work done there. Its been in for a couple of months now and they still tell me in the phone that the pain in my jaw is normal. I assure you it is not. I am going to have to go somewhere else to find out what is wrong I guess. I hope you can resolve the front office staffs issue. You have had a couple amazing people there that have left, from what I understand from one of them, because of the lady at the front.
Definitely not happy with how things started out. My mother had a stroke and is in a nursing home and cannot walk and the nursing home is in charge of her transportation so in order to make appointments I have to go through the nursing home for transportation reasons so it’s not like she just gets in the car and goes to her appointment. First appointment they canceled and did not tell us. They said that they called did not get a confirmation so canceled it and never let anybody know. So I met her at the nursing home and we went to her appointment and they kindly told us that the appointment was canceled and had to be rescheduled. Well of course not happy but OK we learned a lesson. Made the next appointment and that got canceled and had to be rescheduled due to unknown reasons on their part. Next appointment after that got canceled due on their part and unknown reasons as well. Next appointment they tried to cancel and reschedule. I called them back and told them this is not acceptable that either we get to keep this appointment or we go elsewhere because it’s not easy for my mother or the nursing home and this is not right. My mother needs her dentures because she’s having a hard time swallowing her food because she cannot chew so it is now considered a medical issue. They said OK we could keep the appointment. We went to the appointment her appointment was at 10 we did not get out of there until 1145 and was only in with the dentist for 15 minutes max. But while out in the waiting room earlier there was a gentleman that came in for his 11 o’clock appointment and he was told the same thing we were told that there was no confirmation so they had to cancel his appointment. So I see this is a pattern with them. As far as the dentist she was great. As far as they run a business I will never recommend them or go back once my mothers dentures are done. They get two stars only because I liked the dentist she was very kind and very good with my mother.
I am so very happy. The entire team...from the front desk on has been incredible. I could not smile for years. Because of this Aspen Dental I cannot stop smiling. I could never say enough about the dental assistants. The dentists are so very kind. I adore everyone I have come in contact with. To all of them...Thank You!!!! -April
Went to have upper and lower dentures made, pleasant enough never returned my insurance or medicare cards lost them somehow. First set the lowers where crooked and the dentist told me/i bit down wrong,I had to wait another month to get the bottom wax redone. I returned and I had to force the plates in wore them home figuring my gums would adjust unfortunately I had a bunch of sores from an hours wear. Called them up to get them adjusted and the appointment is 6 weeks away. Needless to say I have a dremel tool and have spent 5 or 6 times to get them to fit for 1800$ it should of went way better... Over 4 months total to get impression to plates made and remade do yourself a favor go elsewhere there a shitshow to be honest...
Myself, like a lot of people dislike going to the dentist. I always get nervous. I had a appiontment yesterday, and from the moment I walked in the door I was instantly calmed by the staffs kind personalities. Everyone from the lady at the front desk, to the hygienists, the dentist and the gentleman that helped with the paper work at the end, were all very kind and helpful. The lady who took my xrays name was Tammy. She instantly made me feel very calm. She explained everything that she was doing and was very gentle. I can not remember the hygienists name...but she was very upbeat and personable. The doctor explained everything they needed to do for work going forward, and gave me choices on what to do. He was very straight forward, which I appreciate. The gentleman that helped with the paper work and scheduling future appointments name was Jerimaiah. He also was very personable and joked around making me feel even more at ease about going back.I have worked in customer service for twenty one years, and one thing I notoced on the way out was a older gentleman giving the front desk staff a hard time. Everyone has their bad days, and this was apparently one for him, but the staff handled him in a absolutely professional way. Talking to him in a calm manner and trying to appease him the best they could. I was very impressed by this.Because of this positive experience I will not be nervous when I go to my appiontment for a procedure next week.Thank you Aspen Dental.
Cindy just called me less than 2 hours before to cancel my appointment for the 2nd time due to no staffing. Again wanting to reschedule me over a month out again so I have now been waiting 3+months. She was extremely rude saying “well what do you want me to do, would you like me to just not schedule you”. Did she really just threaten to not schedule me because I asked why it’s happening to me again? Of course I’m upset. This customer service had absolutely no remorse. They say they are accepting new patients but clearly don’t have the staff to accommodate.
I can’t say anything bad about the doctors they were great but the office is highly unorganized, they will tell you , you don’t have an appointment and try to turn you away when you have been waiting for your appointment 1 month and up and have an email confirmation in hand. Nowhere in the email does it prompt you to call and confirm again, the email reads as the confirmation. During my wait I overheard them doing this to several customers,Plus, they just want to make a quick buck and do not have the patient’s best interest in mind. They used up my benefits on cleaning etc without discussing with me that it would leave me with zero fund to addressing the issue I went in for.And I had to spend time with my insurance to get payment for the services they provided, since they tried to bill me for it, after telling me my insurance would cover it. It turns out they didn’t submit correctly.
I called with an emergency and they Took me in an hour later.Wonderfull painless experience. Every single person was so welcoming. I was so fearful when I arrived and by the time my x-rays were over I went from fearful to nervous. Huge, huge improvement!!
Had a great first experience with the Waterville office. They were all kind and friendly. They didnt rush through my appointment and thoroughly explained what my best course of treatment should be. They spoke so that a non-dental professional could understand what could/should happen in different situations. I appreciate their opinion and will be back!!
The best place ever!!!!!!!!! Im severely nervous in a dental setting and wanted to get my visit over with. First person I talked with, a gentleman at the desk, very nice and made me feel comfortable. Every person I came in contact with during my visit was exceptional. I wish I always came here. Cindy is my angel! I told her that. Excellent, past Excellent!
OUTSTANDING CARE!!!I had a true emergency! They was able to get me right in and made me very comfortable!I was in extreme pain and the Dentist and supportive staff kept reassuring me.They was kind and showed compassion. The Dentist I seen was very confident, positive, determined, persistent, patient, & professional! He was constantly reassuring me the whole time.He told me he would be able to get the job done and he did just what he said he would do!I can’t express how great full my daughter and I are for this Dental office in Waterville, Maine! This Dentist is a keeper NO DOUBT he is my Dentist ❣️❣️THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART ❤️MAY GOD BLESS THEM ❤️
Had a tooth that needed to be removed/dealt with on short notice, and was able to get an appointment rather quickly to get it taken care of.Staff was kind and helpful which made the whole process easier. They were very upfront and clear about what would be done and the cost involved, as well as their payment options for those like me with little to no insurance. The only real downside was the somewhat long wait time, but thats often the case with dental services these days so it honestly didnt bother me much.4/5, would recommend to others.
One day my tooth started to bother me out of nowhere so I made an appointment with aspen dental for the very next day. I don’t have insurance but my exam was free since it was my first time. Dr. Bhatt did a temporary fix which helped a lot so I scheduled the appointment that would fully correct the problem 1 week later. However, as 2 days went by my pain started to become unbearable. I called Aspen Dental and explained my appointment is in a week but I simply cannot wait that long. They we’re able to squeeze me in that same day I called and take care of the issue. Dr. Bhatt is great! He explained my options clearly and executed the procedure flawlessly! His assistant Tammy was also wonderful. She could tell I was very stressed out about the situation, as I have a huge fear of the dentist, and tried to comfort me and distract me. Overall, I would recommend Aspen Dental especially if you don’t have insurance. I believe the rates are fair and they also provide a financing credit you can apply for to help pay up front which really helped me out with the unforeseen costs.
This review is specific to the Waterville, Maine Aspen dental office. I have no experience at any other Aspen franchise:Great hygienist. Clean and friendly atmosphere.Reasons for 3 star:- They require a 60% deposit to even make an appointment that requires a payment (essentially anything other than a routine exam/cleaning). They will settle for your deductible though if you push the issue. In my case 50$. Reason given is that they have a high volume of no-shows. I get it but treating all patients (I have been a responsible Aspen Dental patient for many yearsthis way is disappointing.-I have always had the feeling that Aspen Dental is more of a reactive versus proactive practice where they don’t put as much emphasis on the preventative side than they do off making money from people who don’t practice good oral hygiene and require a lot of expensive care.- Only one hygienist on staff makes it very difficult to schedule regular (every six monthsexams/cleanings. This last appointment was rescheduled twice by the office due to lack of staffing and was already past the six-month mark when scheduled. This goes along with the point directly above. Four out of five chairs/stations at this location are for procedures other than exams/cleanings.
