Below average hotel

Really wasnt that bad. The sheets were really nice. The breakfast got the job done. Included toast, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt and juice. It was too chilly to swim but the pool looked okay. Was a little bit run down and noisy but the only hotel available during the state fair.

The owner is very nice and helpful.

August 15th, 2022, First of all I’m probably the least pickiest person ever but tonight pretty much crossed the line and I was only in the room maybe an hour before I spotted 7 large bugs crawling around on the bed in room 114. I left immediately afterwards and reported it to the lady in the office and she informed me they were water Beatles because a pipe broke and she doesn’t know how to do a refund either. Plus the bathroom light didn’t work as well.I’ll be working with the better business bureau for a refund of what I paid for the room ASAP if the owner doesn’t already do it because now I have to drive to the next town and find a new place to stay. Other than the bugs and light not working, this hotel has a lot of potential and with some work it could really become a cute and cozy place to stay, I enjoyed seeing the layout of the complex and I’ll be praying for good things to happen with Sky Palace Inn & Suits Hutchinson, Kansas!!

I personally HIGHLY RECOMMEND someone staying at the Sky Palace or the SUNFLOWER hotels...The owner , Mr. Chris , is really great at treating his guests with RESPECT, and BOTH HOTELS have EXCEPTIONALLY great rooms ... I have stayed in both of these hotels , and have been treated like family , , NOT A GUEST.... BOTH HOTELS HAVE GREAT ROOMS , GREAT PRICIES , AND THE SKY PALACE HAS A SWIMMING POOL , which is VERY WELL MAINTAINED...The properties are exceptional in cleanliness, and the owner and manager , MR.CHRIS & MS. SHERI , , ALWAYS ARE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND TO THE NEEDS OF THE GUESTS .....I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SUNFLOWER AND SKY PALACE HOTELS TO EVERYONE .....U WILL BE VERY PLEASED WITH UR STAY. AS I HAVE BEEN .....

If I could give them a negative rating I would but I put my I’d as a deposit and he’s not letting me get it back from him I’ve tried to give him money and the cops were even called

The place is miserable. Only reason I was here was because neither the Sunflower or Astro give refunds... And then when you try to clean your own room of all the mold and grime, they charge you $25 for a tiny scratchy foottowel because you stained it. The owner and manager for both places are the same, so I shouldnt have expected better. The manager Sherry Hearn said it best when she screamed at us, "Well, if you wanted a CLEAN room, you should have gone to the Days Inn"

Very nice spot for a great price. Owner is welcoming and friendly. Clean and comfortable beds are a plus. I will definitely stay here again.

Worst case of bedbug infestation EVER!!! After notifying staff about the issue I was told no when demanding a redund!! I HAD TO LITERALLY THROW AWAY MY CLOTHES AND BUY NEW ONES! When I lifted the mattress there was THOUSANDS crawling around!! Also, there was blood all over the SHEETS! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, BECAUSE U WILL NOT GET IT BACK!!

Cheap and easy for a room and nice people and clean rooms

Nice simple and quiet. The guy who owns it is a very nice and thoughtful person,Ive known Chris since I was 16 when he hired me to work at Fazolis. Dont know many people running 2 hotels,a limousine business plus the many other numerous things he does for people throughout his day while also trying to spend time with his family take the time to give a gift/invite his hotel guests over for Christmas dinner.

WARNING if you are a METH HEAD or drug addict this motel is ideal for you its completely disgusting and un clean (coming from a unpicky personI wouldn’t give this place not 1 star I seen the reviews on here they must have done them themselves (they go in your room even with do not disturb signno real maids just a female meth head

I needed a place to stay and had no advance notice...the people here at the Astro Motel have treated me VERY good. Even helped me get things moved in.Glad I ended up here.🤗Thank you Chris and Staff.

Really improved everything about this hotel, the owner has clearly worked very hard at improvements in every aspect. Weekly rates are very affordable.

The rooms are very clean, the staff are super nice, why only 4 stars? They need a new pop machine. Oh and when your in the rooms it is very quite. They are close to fast food and close to Smedleys,a very nice bar that serves food and drinks.🍺🍔 and a tat shop right around the corner. Thanks guys for your outstanding service.

This motel is the worst expierience ever. The managers are crooked. There is alot of illegal activity going on here and all the doors on the upper levels do not have dead bolts! No locks whatsoever! You can use one key for multiple rooms. Definitely not a safe place!

Comfy beds..no breakfast or pool a advertised.

I ended up stopping in this town on the way to and from Kansas City because my grandmother is buried here. Stayed here both times. Rooms are cozy, dated but clean. Ice cold air conditioner, microwave, fridge, bed, cable TV, wifi... What more can you ask for? It has all the amenities. If youre not picky, snooty or high class, this is a great motel and especially for the price!! I came there to sleep, anything else was a Bonus!

I stayed here last year for the state fair and it is a great place! Friendly even though we got in super late. Good rooms, and the beds are very comfortable. Thanks for the great experience.

This is the worst motel I have ever seen. I travel for work and had to stop somewhere. me and another guy got a room and there was blood on the mattress. Dirt all over the bed. moldy bathroom and when we asked for money back she tried to say we wouldnt get a full refund cause we used the restroom. Still havent received our money back. This motel should be shut down and demolished. If your smart you will pass this one up.

This may be the cleanest hotel in Hutchinson. Very nice couple own the place and they are conscientious about upkeep. Went out if their way to fix me a chai tea in the morning.

This place was originally a good deal. That was until I discovered that they charged me thrice for one evening. I spoke with them immediately and they admitted that there machine was malfunctioning and was assured I would be compensated. They told me to wait for the transaction. It never came. Called again, same conversation, same promise of returned fee. Upon the third time calling I spoke to the owner and still no money has been credited to me. Its been over 60 days since the transaction which is past the time allotted for a CC report with my bank. Im convinced they wasted my time deliberately so as to force me to take them to claims court. Only problem is that Im traveling and that prevents me from being there physically. I do not recommend this place as they seemed to have this problem admittedly often. So unless you want to risk losing money, go to one of the many other motels in town. They will face retribution for my $100 in the future.

Our group reserved 3 rooms on the ground floor. We were all pleased with how neat, clean and spacious all the rooms were. They did not have all the amenities that some chain motels have, but each room had a microwave, refrigerator, TV and free wi-fi. Each also had a small table with 2 chairs. One room was lacking an extension cord to make the refrigerator usable, but it was not an essential for our short stay. Little details like this were the only things that can be improved. The rooms seemed to have been recently renovated, with fresh paint and new carpeting. They have yet to do a good cleaning of the chair upholstery to match the freshness of the rest of the room. They seem to be short on parking spaces for the number of rooms, and Im not sure if they have an overflow parking plan. Overall, the current owners have done much to give a fresh face lift to an older facility, and they treated us well. We were not disappointed for the modest price we paid.
