Baan Thai Restaurant in Leavenworth County

Great food. Pad Thai has a different ketchup type flavor to it which is very different to what I’m used to over the last 10 years eating Thai food in different states. Overall, good restaurant

New to Thai food but went there with a co worker and loved it. Pad Thai was greatTaking my wife back there for a date night soon. Inside is majestic and the servers are very knowledgeable and friendly.

No layers of flavor. We have eaten at over 100 Thai restaurants. This is definitely at the bottom of our list. They are nice and the place is clean, but I wish they could get new staff in the kitchen. I so wanted a good local Thai restaurant.

If you like Asian cuisine, then you should give this Thai restaurant a try. Just a fair warning medium hot is still spicy. So mild is your best shot. Also service is a little slow due to the lack of waiters so be patient. Otherwise they are up to mark. One thing I noticed is if you call to go order a couple of times you may try before someone picks up. Another thing despite being in a military town they dont offer military discounts, just a heads up.

My girlfriend and I love all ethnicities of Asian Food.. We always try to continue to venture out and try new places.. But once we tried Baan Thai it’s hard to go anywhere else! This place is a hidden gem of Thai food! I order something different on the menu every time and have never been disappointed. The food feels very authentic as well. Not the traditional “Asian American” food.. The flavor of their entrees is spectacular and the friendliness, quickness and vibe of the place is nice as well! Only concern is they will shut down the dining area from time to time for events. But would still do take out…. Coming from a hard critic, I have no problem giving this place a 4.8/5 star!

2 words: Crab Rangoon 🦀 🥴🤤What more is there to say? As a chef, the real crab meat surrounded by a perfect delicate crunch and lightly sweet dipping sauce....makes me drool.

Seriously, if you have Celiac Disease, go here. Theyre so knowledgeable about their food and what can and cant be prepared gluten free. Best dine in experience weve had probably all of 2022. You wont be disappointed

Excellent Thai cuisine and worth the trip over from Kansas City. Authentic and delicious, the Larb is exquisite. Careful with the spice level - medium to Baan Thai is hot for most Western palettes. The service was excellent and the atmosphere just perfect. The Tom Kha Gai soup is the best I have had in the U.S., which is kinda odd. Who would have thought the best Thai restaurant i have found - and I lived in California, Virginia, Memphis and outside of St. Louis would be in Leavenworth, Kansas? Give it a try - you will love it!

Ive been wanting to try this place for a while now and Im glad I did. The atmosphere is really nice and the service was great, very friendly and fast. I got a seafood dish that was fantastic. The medium heat was perfect. I will be coming back.

Best restaurant in Leavenworth!

I keep going back for their noodle soup. All of their food is delicious and the portions are big. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Still the same fantastic food. The restaurant was not very busy at 2 PM. I was able to get seated and served very quickly. I have not been able to find a Thai restaurant in Tampa, Florida that can provide the same level of deliciousness. Staff is still very friendly, courteous, and attentive. I try to stop every time I am in the Fort Leavenworth area. Grateful they are still open.

Great atmosphere, great food, and great gathering space upstairs for larger events, great place to check out if you are ever looking for something outside the KC Metro area 😀

My stir fried noodles were as delicious as I remember when I ate the same dish in Thailand many years ago.

RACIST. We had lunch or dinner there several times and we were treated poorly. They served the white people first even though we arrived first. We were placed in the middle table and not in booth unlike the white people. They did not apologize. They always greet white people with big smiles but not when they see us. We are asians and it is very sad and disheartening to be treated like this by fellow asians. WE WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN.

The customer service has gotten way better since some people left, the food is good as always, I get the basil fried rice which is my personal favorite but their curries are great too. Word of advice the spice levels are one up from average due to Thai food being naturally spicy so ask for a little less if you dont like the hotness

This is some of the best Thai food I have had, the Tea is excellent. The atmosphere is vey vintage. Service is pleasant but slower then average. As long as you are not in a rush this is worth it.

Oh my goodness! Thai peanut curry with sticky rice is amazing here. Havent had such tasty Thai food in a long time. My friends and I have eaten here several times this week and plan to go back again soon!

Food was pretty good but the waitress (Asiankept coming and picking up dishes while we were trying to eat which is very rude. Doubt Ill go back!!

Got referred to this place by a friend and after getting the tofu pad thai, I visited again this time for the tofu fried rice and again it didnt disappoint. Clean, great environment and the food is very good.

It’s been about 4 years since I’ve been here, and I still think about it often and hunt for Thai food that is as good as the Thai food in this restaurant. Amazing, I’m not from anywhere near Kansas but I will fly back one day to eat there once again!

Our carry out was delicious! We enjoyed chicken pad Thai, drunken chicken, steamed potstickers, and crab Rangoon. The portions were generous and the flavor was great! Thank you!

I was in government with for 4 days and I came here to this wonderful Thai restaurant 3 times. I have a good analogy and absolutely loved the yellow curry chicken.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who really enjoys Thai food. In the Service is good too.

Nice atmosphere and amazing Thai food. We were in when it was pretty slow, about 3:00 on a Saturday. But the food came very quickly and was delicious. Highly recommended for anybody who enjoys Thai. A gem in a small Kansas town.

Wish I could give it -5 stars. Worst experience I have ever had. Took 25 minutes for us to even get a server to notice our presence. It was not busy. It was 8pm on a Saturday with only 5 other customers. As for the food, it wasn’t that bad… that’s not a compliment. It wasn’t on the good spectrum. I think the dumpster out back probably would have had more care given. And finally, the pricing? Why do you think you’re worth $60 for 2 people? We ordered 2 entrees total. Absolutely no one should come here if you want to keep your sanity.

I ordered carry out but when I went in to pick up my food I could see that the restaurant is beautiful! Lots of ornate carvings and a warm friendly atmosphere. My wife had basil fried rice and I had noodles. Warning that medium hot is still pretty hot! Great food. Highly recommend.

Definitely recommend this place! The best chicken pad Thai in the area! Spice and taste was great. Portion was perfect. The staff was really nice and got my food out quickly and it was nice and hot and delicious!

First visit and I thought the flavor of their entree were very satisfying, it’s a combination of high flame cooking with years of experience. Be patient with them as they are short staff but it’s worth the wait.

I am a big fan of Thai food. (I think Ive been to Thailand more than ten timesI ordered my favorite Thai menu green curry and really enjoyed it.

Didnt get his name but the guy who took my order ....SUPER FRIENDLY, very detailed and considerate, he offered me water and apologized for my wait which wasnt even a wait I was in and out in about 10 minutes and that was just walking in and placing a order!

The food was tasty and the staff friendly. The atmosphere was unpretentious with minimal, though tasteful, and relevant, decoration. The restaurant was very clean and was boy not particularly busy. The tables were spacious and food was delivered very quickly. I would absolutely return. My only word of caution to any ordering the green curry; the base level of spice was pretty spicy.

Vegetarian and vegan options, easy as can be.... When i called i just asked for tofu as my "meat" and no egg in my noodles, shes like so vegan? I was like yessss omg thank you!!! Fabulousness. I think i have a new favorite asian restaurant in Leavenworth!!! I cant wait to go back and try more things. Every restaurant should be this simple for vegans. 🙏🏻❤️🌱

I was craving for a curry noodle soup and they have it! We just waited a little, even though we were the only one dinning in, they have a lot of takeout orders. Serving was huge too.

The Ton Kha Gai soup was very different from any soup Ive ever had before, but SO good!! Ill definitely have to try it again!It had coconut juice, with lemon juice as a broth - like a sweet and sour blend, which is normally a flavor i avoid, but it was just so unique and filling. And the main ingredients were chicken, mushrooms, chopped green onions, cilantro, etc.Such a wonderful soup for a cold day like today!

Ive been here more than any other restaurant in Leavenworth because its so good. Im only in town for a couple weeks but Ive already been here 4 times. My favorite dish was the Khao Soi, but the ginger and cashew chicken stir frys are also just as good.

What a pleasant surprise! I grew up in LA near Thai Town and have spent an appreciable amount of time in Thailand both in rural and urban areas. I ordered a few basic dishes to test the water for my first meal and everything was very satisfying. I look forward to diving into the menu a little deeper and revisiting my review in a couple months.

We were stationed at Leavenworth for the past year and ate at Baan Thai numerous times. Great food, clean atmosphere, and friendly service. My staff group also had a farewell dinner and the experience was the same.

Lunch portion was very well priced for the amount I received. They had some nice spice to add to my pad thai to add some heat to it. I also really enjoyed the pot stickers. Would definitely go back.
