I just moved to Modesto and wanted Chinese food, I decided to try Bamboo Garden since it’s close to my house and had 4 star review. I would not recommend this place at all! The food had no flavor, no sauce on orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The only edible food they had was the pork fried rice and beef and broccoli. I feel bad leaving a bad review since they were so friendly but the food was just that bad.

Even though there are different cooks from when i first started this place is still really good. I get the orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp i believe with fried rice. Mmm mmm good. Plates arent skimpy.

Normally its great here but this time my honey found hair in his chicken teriyaki 😔

Stopped in after Bible study on a Wednesday night. Great service and could change rating later to a higher number as the Garlic Chicken had good flavor but just too much of breaded coating. My wife had the Seafood delight and it much better. They offer huge portions so plenty left over to take home. With my Gastric surgery I only ate a quarter of the portion.

My Aunt and Uncle brought me here for dinner the other night and their food was delicious. I loved their orange chicken!

My favorite Chinese food in Ceres. Try the Spicy Braised Chicken.

Good food but expensive, I got dinner for me and my husband and it was $50. Just two conversations plates to go and a soup.

Don’t normally post bad reviews, but had too. Ordered family meal and the food tasted rubbery. Got the potstickers and you could tell they were frozen and then cooked and the edges were super hard. They had no cutlery for large meal and gave the bare 2 soy sauces packets for a meal serving 5.

Great big portions at a low price but very greasy, heavy food. Flavor was ok but not exactly what we were looking for, (something full of fresh veggies and low on extra fat).

The egg foo yung,sweet and sour soup, and lunch specials are some of the many reasons why I order to go or dine in.The restrooms, booths, and overall atmosphere are impeccable,immaculate even. The food available is prepared by hand. Propane flame powered woks,deep fryers,and fountain soda beverages such as Mr.Pibb,coca cola,and sprite are served ice cold along with the finest beers plus wines

Id say its a run of the mill restaurants the main complaint that both my wife and I had was the chow mein was kind of skinny and mushy and thats not what was on the pictures of what they showed that they served so I really didnt not care for the chow mein at all. The Kung Pao chicken was not spicy at least in the way that most of the restaurants have come Pao chicken Powell really had no kick to it. My wife ordered these shrimp that were sweet glaze that actually I liked and she did like them but they werent what she thought they were based on other restaurants that shes ordered them from and sorry I dont know the name of them. I couldnt give five stars due to the chow mein being the main requesting whether between giving three stars or four stars actually but I gave him the benefit of the doubt at 4 stars.

Great fresh food.

Food was very good but I didn’t expect to see the lid from the hot oil look like this. Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. We’ll, like I first mentioned, the food was good and I would come back just how they see this and clean a little.

every time I come into the Modesto area I stop for.my favorite soup that is their specialty and I have never find it anywhere else. hot and sour tomato soup.

I went to order a dinner plate and the man at the register taking my order had a really heavy accent and was not understanding what I wanted to order. Then when he charged me I noticed he charged me twice and put 2 orders. I told him I only wanted one plate and asked to have a side of vegetables and he said he gave me a second plate because they do not do sides. I told him this was a lot of food for me and he said I can save it for tomorrow and was very rude and upset. After I saw how rude he was getting I asked for my money back and he refused to give me my money back and said he would only change my order to one plate. He began to speak to a young man who also works here in his language still very upset. He gave me my one plate and returned gave me back about $8. I have been coming to this place for 5 years now since we moved here and not once have I seen him at the register. Unfortunately, I will no longer be going to this place. All my family here in town goes here also but I will be sure to share my experience. If you’re running a business, great customer service should always be key and not be rude or angry for not being able to communicate properly.

Affordable place to eat, food is good, and they specialized a meal because I can not eat solid food right now. I like this place

The food was pretty good. Not too oily. Not too salty. The price was good and we were given a lot of food. Large serving.

Ordered online for delivery and received my food in under 30 minutes. Food was hot and really good. Also the guy who delivered was extremely nice. Would recommend for local Chinese food. I recommend the pork fried rice and garlic chicken.

Wish I could do zero stars. Order my food at 1700 and still haven’t received my food. 1950. They told me driver was 20 mins away. I live 1.5 miles away. Use to be my favorite Chinese place. Looks like I’ll need to find a new one.

I order delivery from here about once every 2-3 weeks. Food is always fantastic, ordering is easy, and delivery is fast and courteous, and they NEVER mess up my order! I couldnt be happier! Love Bamboo Garden!

I got food here yesterday morning. There’s 2 reasons why I have to give me zero stars.#1 reason is because I was asked to stand outside and wait for my food while two other woman were able to sit inside and wait for their food. I’m 8 months pregnant who has a hard time walking and was asked for stand outside for 15 minutes. These woman came AFTER me and we’re not told to wait outside, they got to sit comfortably in the restaurant. I had no problem waiting due to regulations but it’s absurd I’d be asked to wait outside while others could sit comfortably in the restaurant and wait for their food.#2 for me paying $10 for a plate I didn’t receive that much chicken what so ever. I’d get more out of my money by going to Panda honestly. Cheaper and bigger portions.

Im not much into leafy greens, but I cant stop wolfing down these spring rolls! Of all the Chinese food restaurants Ive tried, this one is by far the best. They dont skimp on ingredients and the prices are fair. The place is kind of small, so you might want to think ahead for a large group, but the food is worth it. Im highly impressed, and suggest others give this place a shot.

Proportions were very large, wontons were great too! Only thing is everything smells very dish watery. Chownein tasted like it had been soak in dish water. Egg rolls tasted frozen and slimy, you could tell the fried shrimp was not fresh by the chewiness of shrimp and crumble of the bread surrounding. The hot and sour soup was not good. Taste like ketchup hot sauce and water. Very gross. But the egg flower was very good!!Overall I probably would return for nothing more than meat and soup.

For being a hole in the wall spot, this place is pretty good. By comparison, the food quality is better, and the serving sizes are larger than what you get at Panda for essentially the same price. So, thats win for me!

With all the great reviews I thought this place would be excellent. I stopped for lunch and ordered the garlic chicken and chow mein to go. The food was extremely bland and left a strange taste in my mouth. Im not normally picky but it was so bad I couldnt even eat it and had to go find something else for lunch.

Amazing food. Potstickers were the best i have ever had. The beef broccoli sauce was richer and deeper than usual. Great garlic flavor. Chow mein was delicious and had a perfect texture. The portions were huge and not over filled with vegetables. Overall best Chinese food ive had.

I really love theyre food, they are very friendly and I always enjoy my time while Im there. Lately, Ive been dropping in for a to-go meal. They make sure you have everything you need before leaving.The first time I ate there I ordered the, Vegetable Egg Foo Young with gravy. My Mom was a great cook and she made a variety of international dishes, one happen to be Egg Foo Young..When I took my first warm, delicious bite... well... Mom has been gone now for 7 years and it felt like, I was in her kitchen eating the exact same dish that she had prepared. I had to hold back the tears but, I felt warm all over. I order this once a week now, along with Prawns, Cream cheese Wonton, etc.I recommend Bamboo Garden to anyone that likes this type of cuisine.Also, the portions are large and I can have the other half for lunch the next day! Yummy 😁

So much better than chain Chinese food...this place has a great staff and good food. I love the braised spicy chicken and the pork fried rice is fantastic. Great value too.

Food had no taste and my wife had only 4 shrimp in her sea food soup. And they wanted to charge us when we asked for more. The menu said there would be 12 shrimp in it. Not recommend.

We come here often for the great food and have enjoyed being able to share a plate and take home enough for another meal. Highly recommend the Bamboo Garden Restaurant to my family and friends. The best weve had in a long time.

VERY polite staff! The food was delicious and the serving sizes for the dinner options are great! They even helped us pack up the leftovers! My husband recommends the Hot and Sour Soup! For sure coming here again!

I really like this restaurant! They give you a lot of food for only about 10 or 11 dollars. Theyre very friendly and fast too! The pork fried rice is amazing!

Food was okay except they always over cook my chicken making it so hard on the ends that alot of it is inedible. But they do give you enough to feed a small army on their combo plates. Service is good. And fast.

Food was good. Service was bad i had to wait for an hr. Then i had to ask how much longer and they forgot about my order and i had to tell them what they were missing i wait for an hr till i had to ask about it cause my kids were crying they were hungry. Peoole who came after me already got there foods. I also had to ask for napkins and refills. I would not bring my family back again...

Yum! I love the Mongolian Beef and Teriyaki Chicken here. If you dine in, the dinner combo comes with soup, veggie eggroll and fried shrimp. Its a lot of food! And its only 10 bucks! I always end up taking a box togo for later :)I cant wait for my next visit, Bamboo Garden has the best Chinese food in town!

Food is always fresh as you order it. We are coming to this place for almost 8 years, most places dont give you complimentary soup, they do, and on top of that, you will get veggie egg roll and panko shrimp with your dinner order, PLUS FREE hot tea. Cheap and tasty.

This place has delicious food. I dont eat out much but decided to splurge one night because I miss Chinese food so much. Went here, ordered 2 meals so that I would have enough food for 4 days, and before tip, the cost was about $20. Not bad at all.I ordered to go so did not sit inside the restaurant while I ate, but I was at the front and had a good look around while my food was being cooked. They have an aquarium in the front which keeps the kiddies busy, and me, as well. Restaurant seemed clean enough, and some days they have a good crowd, other days dont see a lot of diners.Food was finished rather quickly...a little quicker than I expected so I have no idea if the meals are made in bulk beforehand or if the chef is that good. Doesnt matter, my mouth watered the entire way home smelling the aroma from the to go bag, and I was not disappointed when I took my first bite.I hope that this place stays around and continues to offer Chinese food to this community. Its really needed as this area doesnt seem to have much variety otherwise. With Teriyaki King in Modesto gone, and the one on the other side of the parking lot from this restaurant having its health issues...which is a HUGE disappointment...this is all I have left. Its really good...so as long as they continue to stay in business and use food safety measures, Ill be happy.

Never ever go there again. I walk in and place my order. Garlic chicken w/ chow main and fried rice. sweet and sour shrimp w/ chow main and fried rice. As I was waiting notice my receipt said broccoli and garlic sauce. NOT what I ordered. So, told the girl she ran back to kitchen and told them Garlic chicken This is in Ceres I live in Modesto. I got home had broccoli and garlic sauce. Grrrrrrrrrrr I call up. said come get Garlic chicken or put my name on paper fore next time. (ya sure I get itI hate Broccoli so went back got it. They ONLY gave me Garlic chicken in small to go box no fried rice or chow main. Guess go with out I threw the broccoli out. Never going back. Garlic chicken wasnt the same. 3 pieces size golf balls. Chinese are so rude !!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent food, large servings. My husband and I share a plate and have food to take home. The staff are very accommodating. Even when we share a plate we each get the soup with our lunch. They do not have to do this. We have recommended the restaurant to many of our friends and they all like it.

Extremely friendly and helpful waitresses. The amount of food you get when ordering a combination dinner plate is HUGE. Its enough to feed two people quite well. You can add a second entree to a dinner plate for only a few extra dollars if you are choosing to share. The food itself was tasty too.
