They were so good to my baby. I am a mother hen, so believe when I tell you they were very good and professional. Price was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I took my Yorkie in as an emergency. We all know how expensive it can be. But I was surprised at the cost.

Poor care & poor communication. My cat left in worse shape than when I took him.

Decent enough health care for a regular check up, but would take my pet to a more qualified vet for those "uh-ho" moments. Took my baby boy there, had x-rays and blood work done and spent &500+ and about 20 minutes for them to say "ehh we dont know, take him to a vet ER". I fully understand running a business and the charges that come along with that, but when your college degree recipient answer is a "shrug" you might not want to charge an arm and a leg. Needless to say, my pets will never step foot in that "clinic" again.

My dog got an x-ray there and you could tell by the way she carried her hips that something was wrong but they said everything was fine. 5 months later she hurt her leg and got an x-ray at a different vet and she has severe arthritis. The kind they see typically in 8 year old dogs. She was less than 2 at the time. So for months I could have treated her, gotten her medicine and physical therapy but no, Banfield said it was all a ok. Do not take your pets there if you actually love them.

I was until recently going to PetAngels on Collins because they was a little cheaper. But I was not satisfied with the level of service I was receiving as my time also has a price. So I thought I would try out Banfield on Wells Road. Im beyond grateful that I have. Ive been twice now and both times the level of service and speed is beyond amazing. Amazing staff!!!!!!!

Banfield makes it very difficult to cancel plans, even for members of over a decade. I recently found out that I have been paying since July of 2021 her last appointment, it’s June 1, 2022. I tried to cancel and I was bounced around. All they did was mark my girl as deceased (as of February 2022when I tried to cancel and still kept me paying for the plan. Absolutely ridiculous.

My experience with Banfield was terrible. On my way to my pets appointment , they call and asked for medical information for my pet. I didnt have the information available and reached out to my Vetenarian office for help. Unfortunately the Vet was not open. I had to drive 45 minutes back home after arriving for his appointment. I was very disappointed in how 🤔 they asked for his records the day of his visit. I let the assistant who called me know unprofessional; their request should have been updated the day before my pets appointment. I now have all his medical information stored in my cellphone. This was a valuable lesson for me. Although the situation could have went bad. I kept my cool and went home to vape. Gas ⛽️ is not cheap and neither is My time. I will never deal with Banfield Hospital again!!!!!

Love this vet! They got my baby in the same day. They were all extremely friendly and attentive, and made sure that I was informed and agreed with the entire process, and that I knew what to do once I brought her home. They did all necessary testing and even called a couple of days later to check on her! It was a scary day made easier by their compassion and love for a dog they had never met and I cant thank them enough for going the extra mile.

Save your money and go to a vet that can see you in a reasonable amount of time and doesnt cancel your appointments while your animal suffers.I added a wellness plan for my cat and have had several appointments canceled when made online or through the App because they say the scheduling feature doesnt work right and they dont know if it will ever be fixed. It apparently allows double-bookings on their end and they wait until right before your appointment cancel even if you made it weeks in advance. My cat has allergies and will over-groom to the point of raw skin if he cant get a steroid shot quickly every few months. The last two times it got much worse due to the last minute cancellations and days/weeks to be seen. I had to take him to another vet at least twice now even though Im already paying Banfield for something I can never use when I need it. I just called to cancel his useless plan and they said the hold time is at least 25 minutes or I can discontinue it through the automated system. This option only allows you to NOT auto-renew and apparently they think Im going to keep paying until September when they arent rendering any services... Please for the sake of your pet, find a vet that cares. To be fair, if you simply want routine maintenance and dont mind calling to make appointments and can do it on their schedule - they do this okay.

I have been a loyal Banfield wellness customer for 9 years but no more. After todays happening I will never be part of the Wellness program again. My dog came down unfortunately with a right lobe pneumonia. He was prescribed pills for 14 days.Today we noticed that our dog was not breathing well and was not eating. My husband rushed him back to Banfield to get him checked out. When he arrived there he told the staff he needs to see the doctor that he was diagnosed with a pneumonia and felt he was getting worse. As a client for 9 years this is what he was told. Doctors are busy you can bring him to another Banfield if we liked but we think they are busy too so you might want to find somewhere else to bring him.No doctor came out to give advice or to even listen to his lungs. We just spent over $609.00 a few days before and they knew he was sick. Not even let me get you a phone number to call this emergency vet etc.Not that it makes a difference but our dog is my husbands service dog and I listened to my husband crying because he didnt know what to do.I found another vet who took good care of him and we are just hoping he will be ok.So just be aware that Banfield is not a place to go to if you have an emergency. As of today they lost our business.

Hope you can clear your whole day for this place…the Banfield at the Orange Park Petsmart is a disaster. They consistently conveniently neglect to provide pertinent information regarding appointments. For example, we scheduled our dog for a simple allergy shot, they looked at our younger dogs file, and said sure bring him in this won’t be a problem and it will be in and out. Fast forward to me leaving work, and bringing the dog in to find out they aren’t going to accept him because he’s never had the shot and now all of a sudden he needs a full appointment to get an allergy shot.Their scheduling is even worse if that’s believable. We have an appointment scheduled for today 12/11/21 for routine shots that has been made OVER a week ago. We just receive a call an hour before our scheduled appointment time stating they won’t accept our dog until an hour after the scheduled time because they and I quote “have consistently had issues around lunch, and that time slot isn’t available because they’re testing the drop offs then”. If the time slot isn’t available it’s a simple solution…don’t advertise it as available on the website and allow people to plan their days around bringing their pets in and having to STAY with them the whole time because drop offs aren’t a possibility. Yes this actually happened. We can’t accept the appointment you’ve already been confirmed for because we’re testing dropped off pets, but we don’t accept dropped off pets.10/10 should avoid this cluster of an operation. We’ll be finding a new Vet that understands customer service and has the integrity to stick to their confirmed appointments.Typically add a star for good customer service, but the people over the phone were rude while explaining this and that’s unacceptable.

Always backed up. The receptionist acts like she barely knows what’s going on and can barely inform customers anything. I schedule here when Oak leaf doesn’t have any openings. I always regret it!!! I do it for my dog though but I would not recommend this location. They need to STOP scheduling appts if you guys are backed up and short staffed.

Asked me 4 separate times if I had medical records. Took about 3 tries to get my pets name correct.Called me and left a voicemail around 3pm for a 5pm appointment to tell me it was cancelled. I called back to confirm and they said they had no record of anyone calling me.The visit wasn’t bad, vaccine got administered and records received which was all I needed.

The staff here are so caring and informative. The tech for my cat (I wish I remembered her name), you could tell she loved her job of working with animals. Thanks Banfield for taking care of my kitty quickly and caringly! In Jan 2021, if your pet is sensitive to loud noises, the PetSmart (Banfield is inside the storeis doing renovations at the moment. So keep that in mind.

When I came to pick up my dog an employee had a leash around her throat and was pulling her back to keep her from running to me, which wouldnt have been an issue if she didnt have a partially collapsed trachea and wasnt a dog breed with a breathing problem. They are helpful over the phone but that experience was so unpleasant that I will not be returning for care.

Went in today to have my puppy receive her Lyme vaccine. I already had an issue at another vet that did not even carry it despite them having told me they did. When I made the appointment I explained what happened at the other vet and stressed that I ONLY needed the Lyme vaccine for my puppy(she isn’t due for any others till next week). I am from out of town and have my puppy on a schedule to ensure that she isn’t overloaded with too many vaccines at one time and has time to adjust between vaccines. The schedule was set by my vet per their recommendations. Upon setting the appointment I gave general information as well as the age of my puppy(even gave the birth date). The girl on the phone was nice and got me in for a drop off appointment the day after I had an issue with the other vet... she assured me they did do the Lyme vaccine and did have it. I had my vet send over her records and they verified they received them upon arrival on the day of her appointment, I once again said she ONLY needed the Lyme vaccine. Her weight was taken and I waited for a couple of minutes before a tech came out and told me she wasn’t due for any vaccines for another week... To which I responded that I know she isn’t due for her CORE vaccines for another week, but needs her Lymes vaccine. The tech looked confused and then went back to speak to the vet before coming out to tell me they can’t do that till 12 weeks... I once again told them that was the only vaccine she needed. They tried to tell me that they could just do it in a week with her other vaccines and I had to explain yet again what I needed and WHY. I’m not in town next week and at that point could just go to her vet back home. Mind you, I will have to reschedule her scheduled appointments.Don’t get me wrong, the techs and receptionist were very kind... but they clearly did not make note of the information I gave multiple times. I repeated myself so much and controlled my frustration with the situation due to it not being worth arguing about. I understand vets having different protocols, but would like to be told this before I waste my time and theirs. I also did not enjoy repeating myself as many times as I did. Heck, this could have been avoided with the person scheduling the appointment being aware of their practices/procedures. If you are going here as a new patient or are from out of town, be advised that this could potentially happen to you as well if these issues are not resolved. Thank you Banfield for being the SECOND vet to let me down this week and not make proper notes on appointments to ensure you aren’t wasting people’s time.

I thought this was the best place to take my pup for treatment and it turns out it’s the absolute worse. They staff have no consideration for people’s feelings as well as their pets. I’ve been taking my pet there for everything all his exams and shots. And I also pick up his flee treatment on a monthly basis. My pet has had a issue with his skin itching. And two weeks ago I took him in for an exam amongst other things. My total was $183.00 and the Dr. Erica Haley Arms prescribed some medication that cost me $73.00 for 14 days. She said based on the exam she did on my pet that she didn’t see a need for allergy testing because everything seems to be okay. I paid my funds and I left. Two weeks later. I did as I was told which was to call back and let them know if the medicine she prescribed was working and I told them that it did not work effectively. The lady at the front fest said let me leave a message for the vet and they will call me back by the end of the day. And that did not happen. I never got a call so I called the next day asking for answer. And they lady who answered the phone did not know what i was talking about. So she said she will talk to the vet and called me back. She also didn’t. So I called once more and . Now they are telling me that I need to bring him back in for another exam. I asked them why another exam. I just paid for one two weeks ago. Why not utilize the results from that exam and make another informed decision. But nooo they want me to pay for another exam so they can give him a shot to see if it will help with his problem. How is that fair to me. Also now she is recommending the allergy testing which is another $200.00. I love my pet and I don’t mind spending money to get him some relief and get to feeling all better. But I would have preferred to have been told and or listened to when I asked about the allergy testing two weeks ago. And paid for it at that time rather then charge me for an exam and some pills. That they wasn’t sure was going to work. But again they made it clear. Nooooo that was not needed. But now it is. People just don’t have money like that. It’s unfair to charge someone for something then charge them again for the same thing two weeks later. Just do try something else’s. And her tech Vanessa is so rude. So rude. So rude. And has the worse attitude as well at the lady at the front desk. Unfortunately I did not get her name. I will be going by tomorrow and picking up my dogs records and taking him elsewhere. They have no idea what they are doing. And all they want to do is charge people so much money and provide no results. I hope no one else has to go through this. They need to give me my money back for such poor service. And or take care of my pet in an appropriate manner like they should have done two weeks ago with none or very little charge. I will make sure everyone that I know knows about this experience. And I will leave as many reviews as needed to get this word out. Absolutely ridiculous. Worse veterinarian experience my dog and I have endured. They just don’t care. Like Vanessa said at the end of the fall. You can either bring him in and pay or don’t. Well I won’t. You can take your nasty attitude elsewhere. Because I won’t condone it. I won’t even take him back to the groomer in the building. Nor make another purchase that this store. If I could give no stars. I would.

In today’s society when media presence is more important than ever; and a review less than perfect can send that new client out the door -- next door, here are my two cents.I have to say our relationship with Banfield has been a hate – love relationship. Some background info, we only have my two pets, correction, two of our family members, in their insurance plan for over 10 years. Today for the first time I feel that the doctor we saw, Dr. Martin not only took the time to listen to my complaints, but to educate and show us that even that no-one knows our pets better than we do, he still is the vet. and treated us with care and respect. However, this review is not about the doctor but the tech, Ms. Brandi Tuttle. As a former dental assistant, and then administrator I know first-hand how important an assistant can be. Often, they go unnoticed and unappreciated, However, today Ms. Tuttle not only took GREAT care of our little 10 years old Princess from the beginning to the end of long 8 hrs. she was there. SHE kept us informed and putted us at ease while waiting, even when I was not the easiest or patient. Thought it was her job, we could tell she took pleasure in it to end, when she sent Princess home with this medicine bag… Thank you Ms. Tuttle.

I brought my kitty Raja in to be spayed. I pay for her kitty plan that includes spaying. Never was I told that I would have to pay out of pocket for anything extra at the time I was sold this plan not when I dropped her off for her scheduled appointment to be spayed. All I was told was that I would need to buy a $15 safety neck barrier. I receive a call while at work that they were not able to perform Rajas surgery do to low blood cell counts and that now I have to pay $68. I went to pick Raja up after work to ask questions regarding this payment that is due. I spoke to Martin at the Wells dr location in Orange Park. I stressed to Martin that I can’t afford this payment that I was not expecting, which is why I pay for the monthly plan. He didn’t seem to understand my situation at all nor did he care. I asked him what if I can’t pay it now, can we arrange a payment plan and he said I can leave without Paying and they’ll send it into collections. I felt like I was being bullied and had no option but to spend the only money I had on me to buy groceries for the house, in order to not ruin my credit. I was not expecting this type of treatment at all and was extremely disappointed. Never have I been tricked into such a ridiculous payment plan.

Took my dog in for a spay and never even got to see or speak to the veterinarian. Also, the entire day’s appointment schedule was up on the screen in the room I was placed in for discharge even though there are clear state laws regarding the privacy of pet medical health records. Obvious lack of empathy, attention to detail, and care.

Overall, I really like this Banfield. I miss my Southside location (we moved), but this one is nice too! The staff are understanding, flexible, and knowledgeable. I have 3 cats and one dog who are all on the Banfield pet wellness plans.I love the one nurse, but I didn’t catch her name. She is super sweet and loves cats. She did a wonderful job of giving my animals love as if they were her own. Comforting animals seemed to come naturally to her! Both of the doctors that I met are very nice too, Dr. Rossy and Dr. Martin. The secretaries are friendly too.I’d say that the staff here are friendly, but to the point. They will gladly answer your questions with a smile, but most of them haven’t casually started conversations or used humor with me like at my old Banfield. Then again, everyone knew my dog at the old location! As this store gets to know me and my animals, I’m sure more casual conversations will come too. :)I love them regardless though!**I definitely prefer this location over Oakleaf. Oakleaf looked back into my pets’ files and tried to sell us prescriptions for illnesses/injuries (that my pets previously recovered fromthat happened over a year prior to our first visit.**

We brought our puppy Kelso here to get his shots and ended up on a wellness plan. I don’t know why all vets don’t offer services like this. I can take him whenever I need to knowing he will be seen and is covered for almost everything. I have been to other Banfields and besides this being a post about how they took amazing care of my puppy during his shots and visits and just recently his neuter surgery, this location has the best people working there. I don’t remember the name of the woman who saw us (wish I did so I could give her a shout outbut each time she answered every question and was so patient with us. Our puppy had never been alone before and he was so nervous but he did fabulous under their watch. After this experience with these people I will be signing my two other dogs up for their wellness plans and actually look forward to vet visits now that it is so easy. Also nice I can buy them a few toys on the way out since it’s in a PetSmart lol

Took my dog in for a comprehensive exam, walked out spending $90 on unnecessary stuff. Charged for wormer when my dogs Tri-Heart covers intestinal parasites, $45 for A WEEKS WORTH of acepromazine. Not sure why my dog was prescribed ace for every day anxiety! Upon doing research, I’ve learned it’s for dogs about to go into anesthesia, or aggressive dogs, which my dog is not, just super anxious. Super mad and upset they constantly try to scam people for money. I was charged for a heartworm test and never got the results for, as well a wormer with no results either. Super mad they scammed me with a wellness plan i can’t get out of unless i spend an outrageous amount of money, which they never mentioned upon signing up, just that i can get out at any time. Super nice front desk workers! Went in one time and one vet didn’t even come in and the techs excuse was “he was busy”. Super unprofessional. Would even tell them about problems my dog was having and they would blow it off! Can’t wait until my contract is over.

I dont usually do reviews but I do this one with the intention that they pay attention and improve their quality of service since they charge for absolutely everything. I took my dog for an ear infection which she suffers from all her life, and they gave me a treatment, 2 months later as usual I came back for the same thing (as I said before it has always happenedthat time I had to buy a flush because the one I had finished, I did the treatment as they told me and after 2 weeks a super rotten odor begins to emanate for the ear, for a few days I try to clean it externally to remove the smell and I do not succeed. I take my dog back to consultation and I find that the first vet who saw her had not even written down her information in the file, I left her at 9.30am and it was 1.30pm and they were just beginning to take care of her, they tell me she has an infection and that I must repeat the treatment exactly the same, and they were not able to clean her ear, I had to pay so they do it. Well I understand that it is material and they must charge for everything, what I do not share and I am sorry, is that they tell me that they have to come back in 10 days just to see if they better and have to pay again. and 3 days ago i finish this treatment and begins to smell her ear again, my dog is 8 years old and has always suffered from that ear but never emanated that smell. In my opinion they only worry about charging and not about the pet. Obviously, it is my experience, I would only like that, even though I will not go back any further, so improve for your clients and future clients.

Banfield needs to get their customer service under control. Ive been going here for years, and even just to pick up meds I will be in there atleast 30 minutes. They are stretching the front desk employees too thin/far and it affects efficient customer service. Ive never complained in this regard, but today took the cake. I called to get a fill of meds for my dog and was on the phone for over 40 minutes. This is where I draw the line! Then the lead person asked me "what do I want for the inconvenience ", "it seems I have something in mind". I found this very offensive, as if I want a discount or money or something. No, actually I want to see action put in place to fix this customer service issue. In short I filed a complaint with corporate. Hopefully they fix this HUGE problem.

They do well, but dont buy into what they say others are charging. For a new pup, their plan interest for the first year, but even with the plan, you still pay. By the time you pay the plan, and extra costs, its about twice the cost you would pay. They charge for things some places do for free.Once you sign up for a plan, you are stuck for a year. It is a payment plan not a subscription. The doctors are not as seasoned and experienced as other private vets. That shouldnt be a surprise.

I normally dont like to give bad reviews, but this is merrited. We had to send our Shih Tzu to Heaven May 11th and were told her cremated remains would be returned within two weeks. I called the second one, and she still wasnt back. I was told that I would be called when she returned and that it could be up to 3-4 weeks before she came back. Fast forward to yesterday (5/28), still no call. I ended up calling the crematorium they use to learn my baby had been returned 5/24! When I went to get her today, I was informed that I had been called one time and my voicemail wasnt set up. I didnt see any missed calls in my log. The reason Im livid: I was told several times I would be called, so I stopped calling. The fact my baby has been back for 4 days and they were open every day since but no one tried calling me again infuriates me. They were so adamant on, "we will call you". Did they really think I would keep calling them if they nicely told me to stop? I trusted them! The empathetic thing to do would have been trying to call me again! Also, having been told it could take up to a month, would she have just hung out there until I called? There needs to be more effective communication with this company and their customers. Consistent answers need to be given instead of varying ones. In this time of grief, the last thing needed is anger and the lack of empathy and effort. Go somewhere local that you can physically pick your baby up from without them being sent away. Dont go here for this service.

When the tech came in the room she asked if there was a treatment available, would we like to take that option, we said no. Our baby has been deaf blind and failing in her health for almost a year now, she is showing signs of being in pain, and we just wanted it to be over for her. Well then the vet came in and said all she needed was dental treatment and she would be fine. We didnt even take her in for that! He stated if we didnt do the dental treatment then it would be best to put her down! So we are thinking this is a ploy to get money which we dont have a problem with the money, it is the fact that our baby is suffering from other ailments. Fast forward to the actual part where we think they are going to euthanize her, they will not let us be with her when it happens. I am sorry but this baby girl has been with us since day one and we want to be with her when she takes her last breath. Shame on you Banfield you are a disgrace.

Staff was very friendly and helpful with my dumbo rats. The nurse cusomized our brown paper bag that our medication came in because as she said "everyone forgets about the little ones". It was very cute. They even went out of their way to fill up all the syringes that we would need to administer to them (24 of them to be exactjust to make it easier for me. We will definitely be back if we have anymore illnesses in the future!

The staff here is great and very sweet. I only had a brief conversation with the vet but seamed knowledgeable and professional. Only downside was my pup wasnt very excited to see me pick him up from there (normal he is pretty stoked when he sees me; I guess he was having too much fun). I have no problem using this location in the future.

I WILL NEVER USE THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN. I DID OWE THEM MONEY FROM ME HAVING TO KEEP TAKING HER BACK BECAUSE WHATEVER THE HELL THEY DID TO FIX MY DOGS TAIL NEVER WORKED. I TOOK HER IN THIS MORNING TO SHOW THEM HOW MUCH PAIN SHE WAS IN AND THE SNOTTY GIRL BROOKE BEHIND THE COUNTER WAS SO NASTY AND TOLD ME BECAUSE OF AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE THEY REFUSE TO SEE MY DOG. WELL TOOK HER TO NO MORE HOMELESS PETS AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GIVE HER SOMETHING FOR PAIN BUT HER TAIL HAS TO BE AMPUTATED. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE. THEY SHOULD BE LABELED ANIMAL CRUELTY CLINIC THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR DOG THEY CARE ABOUT MONEY. WE USED DR CALDWELL...........

I agree that Doctor Caldwell needs to take some course in dealing with customers. I myself will be finding another location. For all my babies. Unfortunately I have the plan for one of them. So Im stuck taking her to Banfield for next year. But not at the OP location. Hopefully I can use plan at any location. If not Ill just loose the money. Cant use a doctor that isnt willing to look at customer position. I left there today in tears. Although I was there for my cat. Perhaps I shouldnt have brought up my other pet. But it wasnt resolved for me. It was the first time seeing her since. She is very smug and full of herself. That attitude will catch up with her. My dog may have survived the surgery. Original quote should have included, the fact that there would be a per day bandage charge, I should have been told that the quote could go up based of many thing like meds etc. What was originally told to me just under $400.00 ended up being close to $600.00 then follow up stuff put us at more money than we could afford. You were smug stating she is okay. You dont live with her, how do you know?Love Doc Martin, hopefully his colleague can learn from him. Rating is based off Dr. Caldwells attitude. I do understand a person shouldnt take in pets they cant fix if seriously ill comes up. But Dr. Caldwell what should I have done. Left her on the streets with no claws? Ive given her love, food and a safe place to live. Your not the only one that has to live with decisions made. If her life is shortened due to the fact I cant afford to go to a Neurologist at least she is in a safe loving environment.

On 10-5-15 dr Caldwell called me to check up on my 10 year old chihuahua in replace of dr Rodriguez. I expressed my concerns about a few things my dog was going through, and had gone through, in a very professional yet concerned manner as any dog owner that cared for their baby would. It almost seemed as if Dr Caldwell was very aggravated that her wellness checkup call turned into actual "work" on her end and didnt seem to want to even try to give me her professional opinion about what was going on with my dog. At one point I had to ask her if she was a doctor because I thought I had made an honest mistake and was talking to the receptionist. At no point in this conversation did I raise my voice or curse or anything at all remotely close to such, I was just voicing concern over the wellness of my dog. She in turn found it necessary to tell me she didnt appreciate my attitude (in which I COMPLETELY did not haveand full blown hung up on me. I have never, ever, EVER, been treated with such disrespect from a banfield employee. I am very disappointed that dr Rodriguez is leaving the Jacksonville location, and I really hope Dr Caldwell is not going to be his replacement. I already have the number ready to cancel my wellness plan if so. You just do not flat out hang up on a customer. I have been a very loyal customer and have a wonderful rapport with everyone that works at the Jacksonville location. I am very disappointed that they have a dr in their midst like this one, that has made me want to cancel my wellness plan. At very least, I will DEFINITELY change the location of the banfield that I take my dogs to. Shame on you Dr. Caldwell.
