Excellent BBQ baby back ribs!
The whiskey glazed burger is so good!!
Great place, great food except the fish is overcooked and comes out dark brown!
The food was great, short staffed, but as speedy as possible, helpful and friendly!! Forgot 1 of our 6 meals, mine, but well worth the wait, which wasnt long!!
We showed up for dinner tonight. The server was nice and our appetizer arrived. While our food was being cooked the manager came out and told us that there were some electric issues in the kitchen, they have to close, but our food was done. He and his staff handled the dilemma with precision and honesty. They gave us 20% off and we took our food back to our hotel. The salmon with the passion fruit glaze was to die for. Oh so good! Good place, good atmosphere, honest workers, good food, definitely recommend.
Wait staff is so unfriendly. They seems as though they dont want to be there. They didnt even ask if I wanted to add hot sauce to my wings, I wanted them plain, I was going to send them back but it took a while for them to come out when I first ordered. Never again !
Really good food and good service. I love their kids sippy cups
For just getting take out I was blown away by the terrible customer service, if there was an option to not give a star I wouldnt I was directed to the bar to pick up my order as I sit there for about 10 min and there two other ppl at the bar that already have there food, another person walks up and the cashier/waitress/hotess/dishwasher ?bluntly ignores me, I walk to the end of the bar she yells to another server " she doesnt care if Im standing there, shes to busy" all of this is going on while I can see my food just sitting on a shelf. After about 30 min someone else asks if they can help me and the disrespectful waitress turns around rolls her eyes, needless to say I left my food at the counter after waiting 30 min and disrespected by an awful little girl that needs extensive training in the customer service department. Personally as a manager I understand how hard it is to get good help, and these bad eggs can be totally detchermental to your business in return also as much as it pains me to even write this review, I never as much recieved a call from managment either to say the least. Hopefully this rude waitress gets tons of training in being more professional and working on time management, best of luck to this buisness!
Food was very good . Waitress was overbearing. Had multiple tvs but could not find remote to change channels.
Chicken strips were good but the spicy coleslaw was great!
I really liked the fish and chips. Hubby had the Monte Christo sandwich which he enjoyed. I also tried the Irish car bomb which is a whiskey shot poured into a Ginuess. Very reasonably priced as well.
Staying at the Best Western Holiday Lodge, we came here for dinner. It says American-Irish fare.We were lucky it wasnt too busy, though the waitresses and bartender were very busy.Service was quick enough, food selections were ok and prices were ok.Ordered a turkey sandwich on a pretzel bun with fries (it said no where on the menu that the fries were seasoned and Im allergic to pepper so that was a failure for me)and fish and chips....we were warned by the waitress that these came with jalapeno tartar sauce...I said we cant have anything spicy (health reasonsand she brought us a plain tartar sauce, BUT the coleslaw that came with the meal was super hot and spicy....which again, it did not say on the menu and the waitress (newdid not know. We dont blame her, but my partner was in gastronomical distress for hours after one bite. All in all it was fine, just a little more disclosure on the menu would have been appreciated. Who expects "Irish" food to be jalapeno-laced?
Ribs were very good and fries, couldve been better. Change of food combinations.
Our visit to Bennigans was a bit of a mess. We entered the restaurant and noticed there were signs about pizza delivery. I actually thought pizza sounded great, but since the signs all talked about delivery I thought Id ask if that was something you could get while dining in. There were also signs all over stating "wait to be seated," so we stood in the entry way (alone, not another person in sightfor a good five minutes before someone came to seat us.Eventually we got our table and I asked the hostess about pizza, and she said she wasnt sure (like shed never heard they even served pizzaand shed ask the kitchen. We met our waitress, who was very nice, and received our single-piece-of-paper menus. Now, Im aware that COVID has affected many businesses, and that was definitely the case here. I really try to cut businesses (especially restaurantssome slack because these people are just trying their best, but we should have trusted our instincts and decided to try for another place to eat.The hostess returned to tell us that a party was coming in and they were going to get all the pizzas, so our table couldnt have any (which by the way, I never saw a party of more than 3 arrive). I thought this sounded strange, but decided from the very limited menu to try the chicken tenders and fries, along with both of my kids. My husband chose not to order. We didnt wait a crazy amount of time for our food, but when it arrived I wasnt impressed. The chicken was really dried out and overcooked and the fries were overcooked and looked (and feltand felt like theyd been sitting under a warmer for who knows how long. I nibbled on a few bites of chicken and ate the fries reluctantly. My daughters version seemed somewhat better cooked but my sons looked about like mine.Overall poor experience. We would definitely pass on this place in the future.
Would not recommend! Terrible service. Took forever to get drinks. Food was mediocre and over priced. Will not be back
I felt bad as there was only one server, one bartender, and one cook. But we still enjoyed our meal. The baked potato soup is great, favored lemonade, ceaser salad, and they have A LOT of specialty drinks to choose from.
Service was great as we had a larger group. Everyone was happy with their food. The Monte Cristo never disappoints! The steakhouse salad is fantastic!
If I could give zeros stars or even negative stars I would. Waited to be seated as the sign indicated and then proceeded to be stared at by the wait staff with no assistance. No one checked with us for a seat or even offered an apology for being busy. They were not busy, over half the tables were empty and 4 employees were standing around.
Good food, and great service. For being short staffed because people dont want to work they did very well and were very nice.
4 if us went there to eat supper. We came in and the woman said just one moment and she never came back. Then a waiter came up to us and said just one moment. We wanted to eat. He came back and said it will be a few more minutes. They did not have a lot of people working and there was people sitting in the bar area and in another room. We waited over 20 minutes to get someone to set us. The waiter came back and said they had no room to set us. We said fine. Will never come back to this place.
$42.72 for chicken tenders and fish and chips, a root beer and local brewed beer. Local beer was $4.67. Menu choices were only a third of what it used to be. Waitress was nice, food was ok but not worth the price! Disappointed!!
We ordered online and for delivery. Food was great, delivery time was great. Only issue is that you advertise items you dont make anymore. Update your website please
My husband and I ate at Bennigans on the recommendation of our hotel staff, and we’re so glad we did! It was a quiet night at the restaurant, and we were able to be seated at a booth at the windows. There were clear plastic guards up between each of the booths for [hygiene], although none of the patrons nor staff were wearing masks. We noticed the waiters thoroughly wiping down the tables in-between guests.Rhonda was the hostess and our waitress, and she was superb! She was friendly and welcoming, and was able to give us great recommendations for menu items, including possible substitutions. I had the grilled salmon and rice pilaf, and substituted Brussels sprouts for the broccoli. The sprouts were sautéed with bacon, onion, and dried cranberries and were REALLY tasty! The salmon was grilled nicely and ended up pairing well with their house tartar sauce. The rice pilaf had a good amount of corn and red bell pepper mixed in. My husband’s fish and chips were also delicious—crispy and light and not greasy. They have a full bar, and the bartender was able to make a Colorado bulldog that was perfectly blended. It was a great meal with great service. The next time we’re in Clear Lake, we’ll be back to Bennigans!
The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff was pleasant and courteous.Like all restaurants now, they were short staffed but our waitress brought us chips and salsa, on the house, while we waited.
Food was good, the taste was excellent. Understaffed and slow service. I think when they get up to staff they will do very well
My wife and I attempted to dine here on August 19th, 2021. Waitress brought menus over, took our orders 10 minutes later. We waited and waited for our food. After 40 minutes we walked out. Found out that our order was never turned in. Total incompetence. Will never return.
As most restaurants post covid they are very short staffed. But they did the best they could with what they had. Food was delicious and the server kept .the drinks flowing and a good attitude.
I used to work here many years ago and the chicken tenders and homemade honey mustard are amazing but the quality has gone downhill. 15 years ago I wouldve rated as a 5 star
Great service. Slow to get the food out but heard they had a new cooking staff. But when it arrived it was amazing and nearly more than I could eat.Looking forward ⏩ to coming again.
When we walked in, a young man named Nick put his mop down & got 2 menues as he cheerfully assisted us. I couldnt believe how Nick went out of his way to make us so welcomed,, when he had his own work to get done (we came in close to closing). Then our waitress Rhonda was very helpful with our order & so pleasant. The food was top rate as well. We had been on the road for 13 hours & what an enjoyable way to end our long day! We will be back!
If I can give zero stars I would because that’s exactly what I’ve received zero service.another guy and I walked in at the same time but separate, we both were passed by the waitresses continuously for about 15 to 20 minutes before we both decided to get up and leave . At some point the waitress was so unbusy that she was standing behind the counter looking for anything to do other than service us.(Not a race issue one customer was white and the other was blackIt was just poor service
Food was good, but the dining experience was the worst Ive ever encountered. I called in first to check the wait. I got on the list and was told 20 minutes. We get there and no one is around to greet us. There was at one point 13 of us standing around not knowing what was going on. We finally went to the bar and explained what was going on. Still, no host ever came. We all started seating ourselves. Our waitress took our drink order but did not bring menus. We had to find some ourselves. The wrong sandwich was bright out to me, but that was quickly resolved. To drop $68 for two people for a birthday dinner, I guess I expected a lot more.
REPLY TO OWNER.... WE DID NOT GET 50% OFF THE BILL I GOT 50% OFF THE JANKY SALADS THAT WERE NOT MADE RIGHT..... IM HAPPY TO UPLOAD MY BANK STATEMENT THAT I WAS CHARGED $80.00.....Today was our first time to bennigans. We were unimpressed. Our food wasnt what we ordered. I do NOT recommend their chicken salads. The chicken isnt more then an ounce and they dont add the bacon. They come in on huge bowls but theyre so shallow you get more of a salad going to Walmart and spending $3.00 for an already prepared salad. For $13.00 they should add more then 1 egg too. Very disappointed we will not be back and would not recommend coming here unless you get fish and chips.
GOOD APPETIZERS.We went to Bennigan’s in Clear Lake, Iowa around 6:30p.m. on Saturday, March 27th, 2021. It took a few minutes to be seated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was good and hot.The star of the show was the sauce that went with the Hogan’s Egg Rolls! It was a sweet cream sauce with pineapple and peppers and was phenomenal.I forgot to take pictures of the restroom, but there is nothing to report about it. It was clean and modern. The grounds outside were kept and the restaurant itself was clean. The decor on the walls was interesting and there were several televisions to look at.We ordered two appetizers: mozzarella sticks and the Hogan’s Egg Rolls which were a type of southwest egg roll with chicken, corn, beans, and cheese inside. My wife and I each ordered a burger and fries and my two year old had macaroni and cheese. My wife’s Diet Coke was fountain, but my Coke Zero came in a can. Both sodas had free refills.Note: you tell your wait staff how you want your burger cooked! Here’s the breakdown: food flavor got a 9/10. Cleanliness received a 10/10. The value of the food received a 5/10. We ordered burgers, fries, mac-n-cheese, and a buy one get one appetizers and our bill was $50.00! Kinda pricey for burgers, fries, and cheese sticks. That equals a 24/30 = 4/5 = .8 = 80% or a B-.It’s been a long time since the last time I was there and now I remember why: they are over priced for what you get.
Food was good but Service Sucked. Waitress had a Big Attitude. She also Blamed me for changes that didnt happen. Dont send out coupons that your waitstaff will have a problem with. Will Not Go Back.
Stayed at the Best Western, so we did a room service order. We were told it would be about 30 minutes, we didnt get our order for at least an hour. They charge 20% to bring it to your room. Food was ok, and luke warm at best.
worst service ever. Waited for 40 minutes after being told 15 minutes. And it is my little guy birthday. Finally they told me our table was ready. Started walking over and everyone else was seated. Erin was fantastic.
Monte Cristo was good as always at Bennigans! Server was Makenzie and had great service!! Highly recommended. I am from Michigan, and can say Mount pleasant Mi could benefit from servers like Mackenzie.
Limited Menu due to covid-19, servers wearing masks. Good Club Sandwich and the Monte Cristo is awesome. Only issue we had were the Fries on one of our plates were half good, glad tough and hard to eat. Brought it to the attention of our Server.
Was built with the Best Western back in the 90s. Family used to go here when we originally lived in the area back in the late 80s into late 90s. Was crazy busy & lively back in those days. Went back after 20 years and half the restaurant looked rarely used/closed off guessing due to declining patrons. Less offerings on the menu nowadays. Lunch hour had approx. dozen patrons in the restaurant with only 1 wait staff/server.
Hadnt been here in several years but nothing has changed. Food very good and overall wait staff that care and listen.Down side is the chlorine from the motel pool permeates the place and drinks are very weak. My water with lemon had more lemon taste than the adult lemonade I ordered let alone any taste of the alcohol in it.
My kids drove me 1 hour to have my birthday supper. First the pop was flat. Took forever for our appetizer had to ask two times before It was brought to the table. It was cold, greasy and disgusting. Our food came it was coldWasnt able to eat anything.I got my soup five minutes before our food came. Had to ask for refills. Terrible Terrible never again. Worst Birthday Ever......They dont even deserve one star.
Hogan"s eggrolls, Ruben fritters & Otool Cajun chicken sandwich were yummy. Our waitress Jessica was wonderful. Ask her for any recommendations if you cant decide.
Service was incredibly slow. The couple at the next table paid left after 15 mins without the waitress even visiting their table after being seated. We got up to find a manager to get the attention of a waitress. A new waitress was assigned to our section, so things improved, but still not wonderful. Food was Americana comfort food.
The good news is that the cobb salad was very good. The not so good news: we sat at the only"clean" table; we waited 20 minutes for our salads and an additional 7 minutes for the salad dressing. While we were waiting, our waitress delivered food to the only other table waiting for their meal. *There were two other families eating and one single person eating. As she was walking to their table (holding on to the railing as she went), several French fries fell on the floor...When we left, tables were all still dirty and fries were still on the floor. My husband believed the waitress was drunk.
Eat here and get sick! We visited Friday evening, and it was awful. The hostess was unenthusiastic to say the least. Our onion tower appetizer was not cooked, raw dough even though it took forever. The staff were running all over the place while other staff stood around chatting. The gentleman in Black shirt, I assumed was the manager, walks around super slow, never smiles, and he looks like he hates his life. We couldnt finish our food and overall we were there for almost two hours, not by our own choosing. This place needs to close or change ownership. The owner should be ashamed.
When I lived in Wichita Falls TX I would go to Bennigans and always get a Monte Cristo everytime until they shut it down then I moved on to the location in Minneapolis when I came back to Minnesota. They shut that location down also BUT I found another one in Clear Lake Iowa. Just as expected great food and great service.
We couldnt get seated. The host said there was a 5 min wait with many tables open, he then wiped off 2 tables and set them and didnt come back. A waitress came and asked if we were waiting. The kid came back out acted like hed never seen us before and said sure, let me go wipe off a table. We left and the party of 5 behind us left. Sad we wanted to reminisce about Bennigans. Just to clarify based on their response, we actually stood there waiting for 15 minutes before we gave up and left. We felt like we were some prank tv show...how long will you stand there. They obviously didnt care about our business. We went to "The other side" across the street. Service their was great and they were much more crowded. Maybe because they actually seat people, what a concept!
Just moved in the area, saw this Irish pub and had to go try it, took the family there. The establishment looked very clean. Was very excited to try it out. But something took to a turn to the bad, orders apps and they were actually cold and over cooked but we brushed it off, than the pit main course came. I had the ribs which said they were smoked, but they were boiled and also cold. I guess the microwave didn’t work that day. Disappointed, my wife had a hot sandwich and that also was cold. Very disappointed in this place. We also mentioned this to the waitress which had plain clothes not professional at all, at least t-shirts with there logo would be nice. She said that was there serval complaints that day.
Awesome! Had the Monte Crisco with fries and a bowl of loaded baked potato soup. Everything was excellent! The soup was thick and creamy and had very good flavor, and the fries were perfect. Everything came out steaming hot too! I would highly recommend the Monte Crisco. It reminded me of deep fried French toast with a club sandwich in between. It was sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with a side of jelly. Oh, and the portions are huge! The service was just as excellent as the food. Would recommend to others and definitely come back when in the area!
