We really love this place. Big Fish has excellent fish and seafood. Lunch is a great bargain. The loyalty program is great. If you frequent the other restaurants in the group, its pretty easy to get nice rewards. Theyll also try to accommodate requests.
The food was fresh & delicious. The pumpkin crab bisque was amazing! This is my 2nd time here & plan to come back again my next visit to Rehobeth.
Popular place on the main drag to Rehoboth. Huge menu with lots of great options. Come here expecting seafood that is very fresh and done well in a family friendly atmosphere. Good option after a busy day at the beach. Loved the crab cakes, crab dip and the grilled salmon ! The seafood penne pasta was awesome too.
There were some good points and bad to our visit.Cons: Too noisy to talk and the restaurant truly needs sound-dampening tech installed; my husbands portion of fish was expensive and yet markedly small even for him and he is not a huge eater; my mixed seafood dish included three out of four empty clam shells (no, meat had not fallen into the sauce).Pros: They are very supportive of gluten free and other allergen concerns, with a large and varied menu; I did not get sick following our meal, which means they showed care in preparing it gluten free; the gluten free pasta and seafood dish I ate was very tasty, the lobster sauce was exceptional. The restaurant was attractive, clean, and family friendly. So, a decidedly mixed review. Overall, the noise headache and husbands quiet disappointment are the deciding factors--we will most likely not return.
Great food. Friendly folks. Recommend the lobster bisque, lox & avocado sandwich, and the tilapia. Next time? Flash-fried oysters
The waitress was sweet and the ambiance was great. We ordered the crab in linguini but it came out with no crab. We sent it back and a splash of crab was on top. Paid full price (over pricedwithout further complaints. All the way from Jersey with high expectations just to be let down. Never again. They need to change the sign that says best in the east coast. Jersey is much better.
Extremely helpful. Best customer service around! Very fresh seafood.
The seafood was fresh, the drinks were very good, and the staff was nice. Bang bang shrimp appetizer was great!
Big Fish Grill is an awesome seafood place to go to. Our waiter Meech was so kind and friendly! He always checked on us and even helped me find my ring that fell under the booth. He was awesome to talk to. Great service and great food, definitely recommend!
First time customer after a beautiful day at Dewey Beach. The bang bang shrimp were tasty but very spicy but still finished them! Enjoyed my pecan crusted halibut fish, nice size and the sweet mashed potato were delicious. Nice big cozy booths and plenty of seating and no wait time but came Wed. Our server Luke was very attentive checking in on us several times, provided food recommendations and friendly. Definitely would recommend and return.
Great place. Our waitress Emma was conscientious and attentive which is a rare thing this summer in my experience. My wife and I had the seafood broil which was perfectly executed. The meal was sized exactly as I expected for the money. Fortunately we loaded up on appetizers.
The food was great. The wood fired mushrooms side dish was unique and went great with my grilled seafood combo. Everything came out fast and hot. Friendly service too! We didnt get the cocktail menu wich also has dessert until the end of our meal so I give 4 stars.
Mass place by the ocean. Good. Not the Best in De. But good! Pretty friendly waiters here. 20 min wait at peak time.
Loved the food. We really wanted seafood while on vacation and this place hit the spot. We got fish tacos, shrimp tacos, the fish special of the day, bruschetta. Everything was great and portions were big. Waiters were very friendly and attentive. The aesthetics only enhanced the experience.
Charles our server was great. We waited probably 15 minutes for our food, if that. I love that we had crayons to draw on the table cover. The food was so good that I forgot to take a picture until after I had already eaten some haha. Wouls definitely come back!
25 minutes of waiting which we were expecting, on a Saturday afternoon. Food was good, a little pricey though. Shrimp and scallops could have been cooked more. Crab quesadilla was nice. Dog fish 90 minute (localbeer is worth trying. Service was better than average.
We went at happy hour and tried a bunch of appetizers and drinks. The seafood cakes with lobster sauce were a standout. The hand rolled shrimp roll was quite tasty, and the shrimp were large and came with an excellent coctail sauce. Everything else was great. Fun atmosphere sitting at the high top tables in the bar area. Everyone was friendly.
Hmm… don’t know what to say, I ordered the grilled swordfish, the taste was ok, nothing special to it… but the portions, the picture is the comparison with the little sauce cup, and it was really not that much food…. It’s just really a sad looking dish….
We went for our 38th anniversary luncheon/ dinner. Lori our waitress was super nice. The tuna appetizer was very good. I had the shrimp fajitas. Excellent. My hubby had a grilled chicken wrap. It wasnt crowded at that time. This was by far the best food we had so far in the Dewey area.
We went here on a Tuesday evening. I dont think they take reservations. Its walk in only. Although the place was at full capacity, the crowd is fast moving so we were able to get a table in 10 mins.Servers are polite, quick and efficient. The food was amazing. Enjoyed the seafood here. Will definitely recommend this place.
I went to Big fish for dinner on a family vacation with a party of 24 people! The server did an excellent job at keeping everyone’s orders straight and getting our food out on time. I ordered the salmon sashimi which was as fresh as it comes! Great flavor, quality, and quantity. We were also celebrating a birthday in which they brought out birthday cake for the guest. Overall it was a great experience and I would return in the future!!
Nice large restaurant with fish decor everywhere. We had a large group of 8 and came a little after 5 on a Friday night and were seated right away. Quite loud inside and hard to hear each other. As we were looking over the menus, a small platter of packaged crackers and smoked tuna fish dip was served for the table. It was just okay and most of our group didnt go for it. The menu has a very large variety of fish and seafood, which was awesome. They have everything from raw bar, fried/grilled/broiled/baked seafood, to salads, burgers, pasta, chicken, and steak. The specials menu also has so many options, its another main menu in itself. I love having options and variety, but this was quite overwhelming. What was really nice was that they had a dairy free menu, which was perfect for one in our group with a dairy allergy. After much deliberation, I chose a cashew crusted Icelandic cod served with a coconut sauce and rice. That was all delicious. For my side, I chose creamed spinach, which was was served in a small condiment cup that was mostly runny cream with sparse bits of spinach. It was basically a spinach sauce presented as a side dish, so I was very disappointed with that. To get my veggie fix I bummed a few bites of lettuce from someones salad side which was a much better serving size. Though, his sauteed spinach side was also served in a little condiment cup. I also saw others with sides of fries and a cheesy baked potato dish which looked much better. Wishing I got that cheesy potato dish instead for my side, but I really wanted some veggies to go with my meal, which I didnt really get anyway. The worst thing though was after ordering off the dairy free menu, my dairy free companion was served a salad with cheese in it. They brought it back out again without cheese but then added tomatoes when it was ordered without tomatoes. At that point, he just figured hell pick the tomatoes out instead of sending back again. They also forgot the fruit salsa for his fish.Others in our group seemed to enjoy their meals, so its hit or miss depending on what you order. I would give this place another try but would figure out the best things to order ahead of time.
Absolutely DELICIOUS and MUST try!!! We dined in TWICE during our stay in Rehoboth. Meech and Lori were our waiters when we ate at the Big Fish Grill. The first night, there was a short wait as we were a party of 7 and they do not take reservations. Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS! Lobster bisque is a MUST (you wont be disappointed!!!A must try appetizer is the Broiled Baby Seafood Cakes. The lobster sauce is divine (was tempted to lick the plate clean! We also tried the Flash-Fried" Virginia Oysters. For main courses we also had: Special Lobster Pasta and some sushi rolls. They also had the seasonal menu which had a blackened coconut crusted fish which was delicious as well.
First time at Big Fish Grill. The drinks were exceptional and food was very good. Luke, our server was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. So why 4 out of 5 stars? Two words. Garlic bread. I was very disappointed that the $10 garlic bread was nothing more than two slices of Texas toast. Beyond pricey for what you didnt get. I was at least expecting a small loaf similar to what Difebos offers. Theres definitely room for improvement Not worth it, but was my fault for not asking.
New favorite spot!!!!! 100% cant wait to come back. Food was amazing, every single bite. Got seated fast, waited on fast, and food came out fast. Super fresh and delicious. Staff was amazing as well.
The mini crab and shrimp cakes on the seasonal menu were absolutely delicious. I had the seared scallops and shrimp. Very good also!! Our server (570(I think Adriana?)was fantastic. She was helpful and attentive. I really enjoyed the teamwork of the servers. The blackened catfish was yummy also! My daughter loved the house salad. The crab cakes on the regular menu were very lack luster. Old Bay didnt even help. The dessert. OMG!! The bread pudding is some of the best I have had. The apple cobbler with cinnamon ice cream 😋 I
We came in with 8 kids, and we were definitely made to feel welcome.(Not common with a huge familythe food was awesome. A great selection and everything was perfectly prepared. Not a single kid had a complaint (and I have a few teenagersand we left happy. Spent less than $250 for a family of 10.Flash fried oysters are PHENOMENALThanks BIG FISH GRILL
My familys favorite seafood place in the area! My parents have explored practically every seafood place they can find, and this one is easily their top. Its affordable and has yet to miss. Good quality seafood and service, and the portions are plenty. We always enjoy going here!
This is a regular stop for our family while vacationing. Its one of the best seafood destinations in rehoboth. The servers are always friendly and the food is typically very good. This past time I ordered the broiled seafood with garlic green beans and roasted Brussel sprouts with squash. The food was good. The portion sizes were a bit small and the scallops were a bit watery, but other then that it was good. I also ordered the seafood chowder which was amazing.
I had never been to BFG before. I was passing by, was hungry, and wanted to eat fish. I came in and was pleasantly surprised and the bartender came out right away to ask if I needed help. I needed a moment to gather my thoughts and look at the menus but ordered a dogfish IPA. After looking more at the menu I was set on the jambalaya! So glad because it was delicious! The sausages were spectacular!
Went here for the first time with my family today. The roasted tomato garlic lobster bisque was sooo good and their unsweetened iced tea was the best I ever had. For my meal I had the mixed seafood grill. Def recommend the shrimp skewers! Our waiter Luke was great too!
This was our second time here and the food was just as good as the first time. The only reason Im giving four and not five stars is the service was not as good as last time. It wasnt bad just not as good. I will say that if you want a gluten free crab cake and a good gluten free menu this is a great spot.
We stopped at the restaurant to get carryout. They sent us to a separate area for carry out thats attached to the building. I asked if the food was the same as they serve in the restaurant. The person behind the counter insured me that it was. As far as Im concerned he lied because none of the food that we got in the carryout was any better than something you would get from a fast food grease shop. The restaurant is wonderful if youre going to eat here sit down in the restaurant and enjoy your dinner or lunch if you want something to carry out find someplace else. The carryout here is overpriced and the food sucks. We had fried oysters fried cod and fried shrimp. I also had an order of the seared IE tuna. It was the only decent thing we got. But then again it looks as though the IE tuna was prepared by the main kitchen in the restaurant and hand delivered to the carryout because more than likely the people in the carryout dont know how to do anything except fry prepackaged Frozen food. The Big fish grill carryout in my opinion has melted down to tourist trap. 😠
Server was very friendly and attentive. Martini and dinner was excellent. My husband enjoyed the crackers and tuna while waiting.
The Big Fish Grill is one of my favorite Rehoboth Beach dining destinations. The food is always excellent and the menu is filled with an extensive variety of choices from seafood to chicken and beef. In my opinion they have the best seafood pasta dishes at the beach. The portions are large and every pasta dish is loaded with seafood. My only complaint is that it is at times very difficult to get seated with long wait times especially in the summer months. Your best bet is to go early or late for faster seating. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience. ENJOY !!!!
First time here ever. Nice ambiance and decorations. But the dining room can get really loud as the room fills later in the evening. It was hard to hold a conversation. The seafood chowder and lobster bisque soups on special were very tasty and served in huge bowls. Nice and hot too! We ordered the flounder entree and the pan seared mahi entree. I think I had 3 servings of green beans and was able to take home leftovers and have two more meals! Great service. Only complaint was the meals were not brought to the table at the same time so my friend felt obligated to wait 5 minutes until mine came and then her fish was cold.
The very freshest and most delicious seafood. They do sushi too. We loved the fish tacos and the crab. They also support many charities throughout our area. A class act.
I had a late lunch going into happy hour with take out for dinner later on. I had a happy hour house margarita, the price was right $6 and so was the taste great. The happy hour oysters were delicious, a little slow coming out compared to the rest of the food. Excellent restaurant and bar for happy hour and seafood cravings.
Our first time here and what a wonderful experience. We had a 10 minute wait but not a problem. The host staff was off a bit but good help is still hard to get. Once seated we were greeted by our server who wrote her name on our table with crayon. We loved it. We used to go to macaroni grill and they did the same. All of our food was very good. Served hot. Great server. Responsive and friendly. This is a good place for family or friends get together. We will be back!
This place is huge and very busy, but even with all of the people waiting, we got seated in 30 minutes - the exact time they estimated. Very impressive. I thought the food and service were only okay though. Our server was nice but not very attentive. The food was good but not great. My broiled combo was extremely salty. The portion sizes were appropriate though. (I wasnt feeling sickly stuffed or hungry at the end of the meal.Bottom line ... Id go back again because clearly this is a popular place doing something great, and I just didnt figure out what it is yet.
Amazing restaurant. It is my favorite place to get seafood in Delaware. The menu is huge, so I can always try something new. 10/10!!!
The food was delicious. I had the Salmon dish it was amazing. Well cooked and well made. The fish was fresh and we all enjoyed our meals. The service was wonderful and our waitress was very helpful and kind. We enjoyed the atmosphere and there was plenty of space in the restaraunt, it did not feel crowded even though it was full. We only had to wait a few minutes.
Started out really strong but ended up having a bad overall experience. Restaurant space is large and has nice beach/fishing decor. Appetizers were very tasty (Alaskan Sushi Roll and Baked Oysters). At that point would have rated 5 stars. However, service was poor. Server did not check on us for water refills or ask if we wanted another beverage (would have gladly ordered another oneat any point. Service was slow overall and when we did finally get our meals, one of the two entrees was incorrect. Understandably, mistakes happen, but the server did not seem to care at all, in fact seemed to have an attitude. The server did not ask if we needed anything else either when the mistake happened or when the correct entree was cooked and finally brought out. Entrees were mediocre.
This was a fantastic way to spend a rainy afternoon in Rehoboth Beach. Fresh fish, great staff, nice atmosphere. Erica was an incredibly patient and informative server to this out-of-towner and helped guide our table through the the extensive menu.
Wonderful restaurant! Seafood was the best I had in a long time. Fresh and delicious! Went at 5pm no wait. Our server Amanda was busy but still made our experience wonderful..
Went here twice and sat in the bar area. The first time we sat at a high top, had excellent service, and the food was great. Tried the Salmon napoleon, cod tacos, edamame, sushi, and a margarita. My friends got oysters, Buffalo tenders, artichoke dip, and shrimp. The second time I came here we sat at the bar, the service was awful, the sushi was mediocre and extremely small pieces, and overall was very disappointing. Im glad the first experience was so good, if not I would have said dont come here. Overall, come for happy hour and wish for the best on consistency and quality.
Big Fish Grill was the restaurant for my Aunts memorial luncheon. We had our own dining room, our own waitress and a delicious variety selection of food. This included an appetizer tray of cheese, crackers plus more, crab cakes, scallops with bacon, Greek salad, chicken salad sliders & deviled eggs. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the food was delicious and the staff very courteous and friendly. It was a wonderful time to remember to Aunt Doris.
TLDR: Overpriced and overrated, disappointing.Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Long wait outside the door, but we had a reservation with our larger party. It took a while to get our orders placed. It’s a busy restaurant, so the staff is usually pretty busy. Our food took a pretty long time to come out. I measure service by how long it takes for them to fill up my water once empty and it took a long time here.Bruschetta (10/10): Great appetizer. The bread was crispy and the tomatoes tasted great. The combination was great.Shrimp Penne (6/10): Not really that good, imo. I found the sauce to have an odd taste (my GF compared it to burnt toast). It was very creamy. The description said it was a “light homemade lobster sauce” but I really don’t think it tasted anything along the lines of that.Special lobster pasta (7/10): Decent but felt like the sauce was missing something. I think the seasoning was lacking. The seafood in this dish tasted fresh, but again the sauce had more to be desired.Chicken tenders (kids menu, 1/10): One of the kids at our table complained about the tenders being bad and so he offered for me to taste one. I was really shocked as to how bad they really were. At a higher end restaurant like this, you’d really expect more. The crust was burnt. The chicken was EXTREMELY dry, like it tasted like they put the chicken in a dehydrator and then cooked it. The fries were pretty good though, but they were standard, tasted identical to buffalo wild wings.Filet (3/10): Depressing meal. The steak was dry and looked sad on the plate. I could tell it wasn’t going to taste good from the looks since it looked dried out. Steak that I cook at my house is 10x better and that’s sad to say since when I go out I want to taste food that’s better than what I can cook. Mashed potatoes were great and the gravy was unique and delicious. Crab cake that came with the meal was a disgrace… Added like $15 for a crab cake with a diameter of 2 inches… Definitely not worth it at all.In conclusion, I will not be returning. This place wasn’t worth the money at all. The food was just disappointing. Food took way too long to come out. And service was slow. Wouldn’t recommend. Over hyped. And I thought the presentation of the food was not good at all.
Stopped here for dinner. Glad we did! Great crab cakes, fried oysters, all side dishes were delicious. Was too stuffed for dessert, so got it togo. (Key lime pie & chocolate cake. Our server Josie was extremely pleasant and helped us thru the menu. Highly recommend.
The meals were good serving sizes and plenty to share! The food and service were top notch! My son said "Definitely Delawares best seafood! Lol. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Very kid friendly as well! Syd was our server and she was 100% on the ball, she came often to check up and made sure to personalize our orders to fit our needs!
