Boca Chica Bay Eco Lodge in Distrito de San Lorenzo

We stayed here back at the end of August for 1 night and had a great time! The property was beautiful, the rooms clean, the A/C cold, delicious food for breakfast, and I loved having the beer fridge near to grab a cold one. Herbie & Erika were great host, and Id definitely come back!

We stayed two nights, have to admit the drive there was challenging, however once there, the location over looking the area around Boca Chica and the water was spectacular. The owners, well,, very passionate about seeing after us. 2 outstanding breakfast. They informed us about areas of interest around the area, whale watching (8 - 10 sightings, may have been same whale, doubtful with the area the captain covered), told us the best restaurants to go to, and conversation during breakfast was entertaining and informative. They explained all the animals to hear, pointed out a sloth, various birds,, and heard the monkeys. They explained the particulars about staying up front and took guess work out of the expectations. Bed was excellent, view from pool, the room and the balcony were awesome. Would recommend highly.

Las mejores vistas de Boca Chica! Un hotel super agradable donde alojarse y con una piscina en la que quedarse todo el dia. Herbie y Erika son unos excelentes anfitriones que te ayudaran en lo que necesites, ademas de preparar unos excelentes desayunos!

We really enjoyed staying here. The hosts Hebie and Erika are extremely friendly and helpfull with everything. The view is absolutelly stunning, and it is possible to see many exotic birds and animals like tucan and iguanas.We highly recommend to stay in this place!

My wife and I loved every moment of our stay at Boca Chica Bay Eco Lodge. The building is stunningly set on the top of a hill overlooking the bay and the architecture and layout of the lodge is carefully and beautifully integrated with its surroundings. It felt like we were home, but with expansive views of magnificent grounds, the invinity pool, the surrounding hills, islands and sea. Whether sitting quietly on our balcony enjoying the antics of the monkeys in the surrounding trees and wide variety of colourful birds, lounging poolside, or enjoying the most perfect view of the Milky Way at night, it soothed our souls just to be there. Our wonderful hosts Herbie and Erika were most gracious and helpful throughout our stay, from welcoming us on arrival and showing us around, to preparing delicious breakfasts every day, helping us plan our days (visiting the local islands and beaches, dining at the excellent local restaurantsand entertaining us with their stories, their charm and wit. When, sadly, it was time for us to leave, they were there to see us off and wave goodby. We felt like family, and very much look forward to our next visit.

Willkommen im Paradies! Auf unserem Weg von Bocas del Toro nach Panama verbrachten wir zu dritt 2 Nächte bei Erika & Herbie im Bungalow neben dem Haupthaus. Noch nie so einen tollen Ausblick von der Dusche gehabt (siehe Foto). Es war einfach großartig. Leider kann man nur 5 Sterne vergeben☹️Die Beiden hätten mehr verdient! Es ist alles perfekt organisiert, sehr sauber und geschmackvoll. Man merkt, die Beiden sind ein eingespieltes Team und haben sehr viel Erfahrung. Wir fühlten uns sofort sehr wohl und konnten die traumhafte Lage mit Blick auf die Bucht und ihren kleinen Inseln genießen. Man kann sich nicht satt sehen! Das Grundstück ist von Urwald umgeben. Es gibt viele Tiere zu sehen und zu hören. Das Highlight unseres Aufenthaltes war das zweimalige direkte und ganz nahe Treffen von Toucanen am Pool. Da ging mein größter Wunsch dieser Panama-Reise gleich doppelt in Erfüllung 🙏Das BnB ist ein echtes hideaway. Hier findet man Ruhe und Entspannung in einer traumhaften Umgebung mit perfekten Gastgebern. Das Frühstück ist Klasse - es bleiben keine Wünsche offen! Dinner haben wir im fußläufig erreichbaren Seagull Cove Resort und im La Costa Fischrestaurant in Boca Chica eingenommen. Beide Restaurants sind sehr gut. Wir können die Boca Chica Eco Lodge wärmstens empfehlen, es lohnt sich👍👍👍

Een heerlijke plek om uittesten

L’hôtel est bien agréable avec une jolie piscine à débordement avec vue magnifique et des chambres spacieuses. A 20 min à pied de la ville (en plein soleil donc soyez préparés. Il n’y a pas de taxi pour faire le chemin jusqu’au village de boca chica).Mais …. Le service est déplorable…Le couple vous accueille avec une fausse amabilité. Ils sont tous les deux affreusement stressés (elle répète sans cesse, les règles sont les règles). Cela relève presque du toc. Chaque client de l’hôtel s’est au moins fait engueulé une fois, il ne faut pas aller dans la salle de petit dej avant 8h30, il ne fait pas toucher les parasols etc…La cerise sur le gâteau fut le jour du Check out. J’ai demandé si nous pouvions le faire à 12h au lieu De 11h. La propriétaire me dit que ce n’est pas possible car l’hôtel est petit et plein à craquer. Je comprends parfaitement la situation. Or à 10h30 l’hôtel s’était entièrement vidé (les clients étaient en excursion), j’ai réitéré ma demande et quelle surprise on me dit c’est possible mais c’est 10usd l’heure supplémentaire !Il faut avoir une seule ligne de conduite lorsque l’on fait de l’hôtellerie.De plus les propriétaires n’ont jamais voulu nous aider ni pour réserver un tour en bateau, ni le transfert pour l’aéroport de David.J’ai exprimé mon mécontentement en partant et la propriétaire a joué la fausse sympathie. Elle répondra sans doute à cet avis en se dédouanant néanmoins on ne peut pas avoir 2 discours avec des clients.Un service d’une rare nullité.

Herb y Erika (dueñosson amables, atentos y simpáticos. Debido al COVID tuvimos replanificar nuestra estadía y ellos fueron comprensivos, y pudimos cambiar los días sin costo adicional. El hotel es bellísimo, bien ubicado, las vistas son increíbles, los desayunos muy ricos y completos. La habitación limpia, cómoda, linda, con vista extraordinaria, y aire acondicionado, agua caliente, TV.

Boca Chica Eco Lodge er fantastiske. Utsikten mot havet og de omkringliggende øyer er vakker. Fra svømmebassenget kan man nyte utsikten og til og med en eller annen kolibri som flyr forbi. Det er lett å dra videre til de øyene rundt for en hyggelig dagstur. Og vertene er utrolige fine mennesker. Erika og Herbie er rett og slett unike og gjorde vår opphold fantastisk. Vi ser frem til å komme tilbake!

Hervorragend gelegenes und geführtes B&B. Leider kann man nicht mehr als fünf Sterne vergeben. Die Unterkunft mit Pool liegt auf einer Anhöhe und bietet eine phantastische Aussicht auf die Bucht von Boca Chica. Die Zimmer sind alle sehr stilvoll und äusserst komfortabel eingerichtet (u.a. mit Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Wasserkocher und Kaffeemaschine). Das frisch zubereitete Frühstück ist wirklich reichhaltig, die Auswahl fällt schwer. Herbie und Erika sind die perfekten Gastgeber, sie geben auch gerne Tipps und organisieren Ausflüge auf die nahe gelegenen Inseln.

Incredible view, beautiful infinity swimming pool, untouched surrounding nature, and perfect cleanliness of the lodge.Breakfast is varied and the owners do their utmost to make your stay a pleasant one.Our casita was very cozy and super cleaned; as Herbie told us, it is difficult to set the hot water, but considering such an outstanding place in a rural location, the little daily presents (love the sweeties&cookies in the room every day!), and the facilities (refrigerator, microwave, etcwe can only be satisfied.The lodge is located in a bay and the small village is 5 minutes away by car. Dont expect perfect roads and many services. It is a little community made up of welcoming and friendly people who will be happy to let you visit their beautiful islands

Hotel con unas vistas espectaculares.Está regentado por un matrimonio encantador que hace que tu estancia sea de lo más agradable y te lleves de ellos un buen recuerdo.Hay pocas habitaciones así que si lo que buscas es tranquilidad y desconectar de la rutina este es tu sitio.

HErbie and Erika are gracious hosts that make every attempt to make your stay everything you could want. Its a lovely setting and the view is breathtaking from the rooms and from the pool. We were on a property shopping trip in the area so the hit and miss internet was trying for us at times. We had a few cool showers and the end of the driveway is a bit rough to navigate. Otherwise the place is wonderful and the breakfasts were terrific. We saw wonderful wildlife including monkeys out back and overall enjoyed our time there. Note (likely due to Covid that restaurants in the area are limited for lunch and dinner so if you are staying a handful of days you may be eating at the same establishments a few times.

Hosts were fantastic, really made us feel at home. Good conversation, plenty of humor, and they made sure we were comfortable in their resort. Great views, huge tasty breakfasts made-to-order. (we skipped lunch each dayRoom was nice and had all the comforts you would want: AC, Hot Water, WiFi, fridge. Bottled water provided (and you could drink free filtered water and fill up your bottles!They make up your room each day and remove the trash. They provide nice towels, washcloths, even extra towels for pool or beach. The views are incredible and you feel like youre with nature with hummingbirds buzzing around, parrots overhead and monkeys in the trees. Plenty of safe parking right out front. They were able to reserve us a table for a nice dinner in-town and booked us an island-hopping adventure with very short notice. Superb! When I left, I realized I was driving slower than usual because I really didnt want to leave.

Wir haben zwei wunderbare Nächte in der sehr schönen Unterkunft mit Sicht auf den den Pazifik verbracht. Das Bungalow ist modern, super ausgestattet und sehr sauber.Die beiden Gastgeber Erika & Herbie sind wundervoll. Wir haben den Aufenthalt, das leckere ausgewogene Frühstück und die Gespräche sehr genossen.Über die beiden können sehr einfach Touren gebucht werden. Sehr empfelenswert ist die ca. 6 stündige 3-Inselntour.Hätten wir mehr Zeit für unsere Reise durch Panama wären wir gerne länger geblieben.Merci BeaucoupKenneth & Jessicaaaaaaa

On short notice hosts Herbie and Erika were able to accommodate us with a beautiful room. Our two nights there were met with beautiful sunrises and sunsets, an infinity pool that overlooks the bay, and incredible breakfast each morning. Located in an easy to get area of Boca Chica we would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. Clean, close to restaurants, and tucked away just enough that you felt you were in your own private heaven. Thank you Herbie and Erika for everything! We will be back!Catherine and Jeremy. Wyoming

Traumhafter Blick von den gut ausgestatteten Zimmern und vom Pool über die Bucht. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und sind sehr bemüht, die Gäste zu unterstützen. Familiäres sehr leckeres Frühstück. Wer keinen Leihwagen hat, geht ca 20 Minuten zu Fuss zum Dorf Boca Chica, wo morgends die Boote zu den Inseln fahren und man abends günstig frische Fischgerichte essen kann. Werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Could only stay one night which is not nearly enough time at this beautiful resort. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious and the views are incredible. It’s close to lots of great places to eat and explore the nearby islands. Herbie and Erika are outstanding hosts. You will love Herbie’s sense of humour. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Don’t miss staying here if your in the area.

Herbie and Erica are wonderful hosts who pay attention to the needs of their guests. It began with the hearty, homecooked Panamanian breakfasts, catering to vegan and vegetarian diets. They were instrumental in helping us plan our island hopping adventures at Boca Chica. When we were home, we were grateful for the infinity pool that overlooked the spectacular view of the islands in the bay! Top notch place and would definitely return.

The hosts are exceptional: kind, attentive, available to assist with outings. The breakfast delicious. The rooms airy and comfortable. The view breathtaking. We will return and stay longer.

This was by far our best stays during our trip in Costa Rica and Panama. The hosts are so nice and friendly and they really make you feel like you are at home. We stayed for two night which if we could would have prolonged. And then there is the amazing view. Words do not describe it so see the photos. If you have the possibility to stay here then 100% dot it.

The owner is uncompromising, does not seek to solve the problem of guests, amateurism at all, does not leave the guest at ease. There are other better hotels in Boca Chica.
