Breakaway Bikes Dewey in Sussex County

Rented bikes for my wife and I for the Dewey Beach Triathlon and it was such a great experience. The reservation, pickup and drop off process were all very easy and straight forward.

Easy reservations online, friendly, helpful. We had a lovely day tackling Rehoboth without the car, which made that zoo a lot more fun.

Great shop, friendly staff and everything you need for biking at the beach. Highly recommend!

Dan is awesome. After happening upon the place by chance last summer, my wife and I recently went there with the intention of finding a replacement bike for her 15 year old hybrid. We threw him a soft pitch up the middle to sell us a new bike. However he was able to tell that she loved her old bike and we werent finding quite the right one to replace it with. He asked us about bringing the old bike to see if he could service it instead of forcing a replacement. In the few weeks that followed weve both had service on our bikes and they are functioning wonderfully. That was great advice and great service. Well be seeing him again for sure.

What can I say very friendly and knowledgeable took his time to talk and got me set up with a very nice bike at very competitive price. And big bounces he is a Buffalo Bills fan👍

Dan and his staff are very knowledgeable. Dan replaced a broken spoke and trued my wheel. He did a great job at a fair price.

Great help when my wife’s front tire quick release bolt/nut/spring came off while biking. Never thought we’d get it fixed or the part but the items were there.Really appreciated the help and assistance. Highly recommend visiting and such when in Dewey Beach.Thanks!!

Small shop, but with a good selection of high quality bikes. Dan was very helpful, offering answers to our questions, good advice, and encouraging test rides to compare bikes and understand the differences. This is what a local bike shop should be - highly recommended.

Had a great experience with Breakaway Bikes! Took my Trek hybrid in for a tune-up and they fixed it the same day. While it was being fixed, I rented an awesome hybrid road bike which was in perfect condition and was a blast to ride. Transparent & all around positive experience with them👍

I am a senior cyclist and wanted a new road bike, but the number of brands and models was overwhelming. The COVID-19 pandemic was also complicating my search. I called Breakaway Bikes and discussed my riding habits, age, etc. with Dan Malley. Because of the virus, I did not want to visit the shop. Dan met me outside of Dewey with 4 bikes: two standard road bikes and two adventure gravel road bikes (Felt Broam 30 and 40which he said would give me a smoother and more comfortable ride on multiple surfaces. After testing all 4, I chose the Broam 30.I very much appreciate Dan’s efforts to help me find the right bike and would never have had this success on my own. Throughout the process, Dan listened, was very patient, and followed up on every detail. I appreciate his knowledge and professionalism, and highly recommend Breakaway Bikes.
