I recommend you get there early Saturday or Sunday morning because its very popular and for good reason as the coffee is great, the food is fresh with menu options to suit all tastes. The table service is attentive and friendly, your pets very welcome.
I got the worst service in my life here; the old waitress argued with me rudely instead of being helpful!
Great vibes, beautiful food and coffee, lovely service...no need more :)
Fairly ordinary ambiance but good service and great food well worth a visit
Fantastic local coffee spot! Every morning, half the neighbourhood turns up for a coffee and a catch up. Its got a great community vibe, even at 6am on a Tuesday. The coffee is excellent and the standard of banter between the staff and the regulars is top tier. Come for the coffee, stay for the banter.
Advised of a 10min wait, but waited almost 40min for a takeaway toast and breakie roll. The spread for the toast was on the side, but no utensils were provided to actually put it together. Should have stuck to the cafe down the bottom.
One of my favourites in the Pymble/Turramurra area. Great coffee and a great menu to go along with it. The food never disappoints.
Busy so took a while, but happy service and excellent food.
Really lovely little place. Very busy! The staff are about as attentive as they can be considering how busy it gets. The food that we ordered were all very delicious.Dog friendly cafe.Lots of parking available.
One of the best hot chocolates in town with professional, friendly staff.
A very busy, nice little cafe hidden behind a small lane. I’d highly recommend you to book a table before going there because they were really busy! We did book a table and got seated immediately. Customer service was good and the food was nice too! The banana smoothie was very thick and yummy but I’d recommend the cafe to add a spoon because it was so thick that the straw broke when I was using it to stir the smoothie haha… both the roasted mushroom and the sweet corn fritters were nice.
Love the service and the food - and the coffee isn’t bad either!!
Nice spot for coffee and probably other food (I just had coffee). Seats in a shaded spot outdoors and more inside.
Went for lunch here the other day. Beyond impressed with the food, drinks and community vibe. Smashed an Oreo smoothie and had the green papaya salad with calamari. It was packed with flavour and one of the best lunches ever. I’m so excited that I found this hidden gem and will be my new regular. The best service experience as well as was greeted with a delightful young man who bought a smile to my face and engaged in a really interesting conversation. So shoutout to Dan for being a legend!!!
Wow, this cafe really exceeded my expectations. I currently reside in Brisbane and this cafe was a hidden Gem. The waiter Dan was friendly and kind. He was also very friendly to my young son. Dan went out of his way to make my son laugh and made sure we were comfortable in an unfamiliar environment.
Great food and amazing service. I enjoyed a nice large hot chocolate with a ham & cheese toastie, but what topped it was the amazing workers. I left with a smile on my face ready to tackle the work day, special thanks to Dan! Can’t wait to come back !
Was looking forward to lunching at the cafe. Unfortunately the waiter was outright rude & aggressive when we were looking to be given a menu. Many other patrons who arrived after us, were being served by him. We had zero issues about waiting & indicated the same by giving a thumbs up when we were eventually acknowledged. The waiter was verbally aggressive when he stood over us telling us that he ‘doesn’t appreciate being waved at’ & returned with water & 2 glasses which he slammed onto the table. Was a regular, won’t be returning while Dan is an employee. A warning for any future employer, if you want a viable business suggest you don’t employ Dan!
No complaints about the food and coffee taste wise.Im disappointed that on a few occasions, when the staff ask us if wed like to start with coffee and order food as well, the food comes out well before the coffee - whats the point in asking us if wed like to start with coffee if our experience ends up being back-to-front? Im sure many would agree this is a valid criticism.
Tasty Food, well priced.Friendly Staff and a queue up the mall for coffee. We got the last table!
Fantastic service and the food is spectacular! Great outdoor seating. A wonderful perfect place to meet up for a coffee and lunch.
Awesome Cafe, great location with a great atmosphere, the corn fritters were super tasty n calamari n salad was very really tasty
Lovely staff and nice place to go for brunch before starting the rest of the day. Dog friendly too
Beautiful cafe with all the cafe classics and more, and good coffee. Plenty of outdoor seating, love coming here with my dog.
Honest coffees and food from an honest bloke. Great set up always quick. Go in and check them out!! Dont mess up its the only good cafe In the complex.
Waited 45 minutes for food and drinks. The server was rude to my Grandmother who is a local of 50 years! The coffee is good but Id much rather wander down the other end of the precinct for coffee for better service. Seems like this is a place that caters to its regulars much more than trying to welcome new customers.
Service is good. It’s clean and spacious. But how hard is it to make good chips/fries these days. Sorry to say the chips were pretty bad. The cheese burger was a bit lame too. But my wife ordered the salmon sandwich and said it was so so. Compared to Kin By Us in Macquarie it’s a disappointment.
Food and drinks were good and the place is quite clean. Staff a bit stand offish - maybe it had been a long day of work already.
Cool little hole in the wall type come shop. The guys behind the counter have a great sense of humour and really brightened up my day. Definitely coming back next time Im in the area!
Food here is fresh, innovative and delicious and the coffee is made well. It’s a friendly place where you can bring the whole family including the dog.
Top place, the very best in everything- coffee, breakfast, lunch, alcoholic beverages, staff, community in general, hospitality, music, also for me personally, a great location since i live so close. The only negative would be that i tried replicating one of the recipes because it was so good, but the recipe was difficult to replicate because not all the ingredients were listed.
Loved the setting and the vibe of the area. Staff was great! The food was awesome! Tried the French toast, watermelon juice and eggs on toast. Will definitely visit again.
Great food! The lamb shoulder was delicious
Best cafe!! Love the quick and friendly service and amazing food/coffee. Will always come here when Im on the north shore :love it.
Great food nice staff and good coffee!
Had a bad experience. One of the girls there was rude! She didnt even realise i was collecting my coffees from the counter and thought I was just wait for the other takeaways and asked me to wait outside not in a nice way. I understand the limited people allowed indoors and appreciate they follow the COVID safe guidance. However the way she treated me was not nice. I didnt expect to have such a disappointed experience.
Its was OK. Portion sizes were good but everything lacked something (but nothing was bad). Had the cheeseburger and fritters and both were fine. Fritters were thick and too doughy for my preference. Coffee was good though!Half the staff were good and the other were abit standoffish. Food came out quick but hard to get waitress attention to order/pay etc
Lovely upstairs inside area and so wonderful sitting outside.Staff are attentive, a very nice menu (I usually cant go past an Acai bowl though ;)Kinda weird that I worked for 1998-2006 in the kitchen there for 8 years back when it was Piccolinos Italian restaurant and remember the next door shop had a variety of business. While Im proud of what I was part of back then - it is just better as a cafe - so lovely to sit up either inside or outside of that part of West Pymble shops. And with young kids you can always duck off to go down the big slide at the park 10m away until your meal comes.Owners and baristas alway have something nice to say or are super enjoyable to chat to when you pay your bill as well - 10/10 experience and it is always wonderful coming back.
I usually have the granola for breakfast here, as it is vegan, and delicious. Today I had the Strawberry Chia Pudding (also vegan), with blood orange granita. Wow, it was an absolute taste sensation! So happy to have two vegan breakfasts to choose from that are both healthy and so, so good! Well done Brick Lane!
Update: Most of the feedback given in my previous review (belowhas since been addressed. Good to see! They have a newly printed and revised menu, cleaner dining areas, covid-safe practices, improved meals, and reduced noise from barista staff. Staff are working hard and standards have lifted. Well done Brick Lane 👍-----Previous review-----Its an alright cafe, nothing outstanding. It is sometimes quite busy, but predominantly due to a lack of competition and consumer choice at this location. Been a few times so heres my honest opinion...Some waitstaff dont seem to have had any training or experience in customer service - not their fault but certainly room for improvement. Indoor tables are sometimes sticky and unclean - and the flies love it that way. Barista staff are sometimes noisy and you hear everything they say if eating indoor. They also sometimes play music too loud (likely a strategy to get rid of customers near closing times, but not a great look when walking past). Outdoor area is prefered by most for these reasons.Specials menus are printed on the same old paper as when the place first opened, so you get a sense that they not special (perhaps antiquesand that the menu doesnt change. Specials should really be built around seasonal and discounted produce rather than just some add-ons thought up after the menu was printed several years ago.Food is sometimes hit and miss which suggests inconsistencies with kitchen staff, but they do some things well.New covid recommendations and requirements are inconsistently met.I think a lot of work went into setting this cafe up, but they really seem to be resting on the fact that there is little consumer choice at the location (driving false costumer loyaltyand the standards are slowly sliding.
A male staff member was friendly. A tall female staff member was passive aggressive after ignoring us and making us wait.Staff were taking orders at tables so we tried to wave them over a few times for 15min. They didnt look over our way so we waited. They then served a table that arrived after us.We got ready to leave when the female staff member came to our table independently and asked whether we wanted food. We told her weve changed our mind and were waiting a long time. She didnt make eye contact and said "you could have waved us over" in a passive aggressive tone.
Top shelf... everything! The service from every single individual working here is exceptional. It’s clear the passion they each have for their place of work and what they produce for their customers. Every dish we’ve eaten has been delicious. The coffee is always superb and the barista’s extraction capabilities are well known in the area. Really highly recommended.
Delicious food, flawless coffee, welcoming staff and cool decor. What more could you want?
This cafe is just great. Good food, friendly staff with shaded outdoor seating.Coffee is delicious; not a bitter dark roast but full of flavour.Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.We had a tuna salad and a crispy chicken burger. Both were excellent. They also have delicious smoothies. The mango, coconut and passionfruit was excellent .
Large outdoor seating area with Capri style umbrellas.Waitresses were lovely and provided my dog with a metal water bowl.Food was delivered quickly, eggs were perfectly cooked and butter is provided on the side. Blend of coffee is quite bitter.
Delicious coffee and coffee, friendly customer service. A little pricey but still reasonable. Its so relaxing to have brekky there.
We’ve been coming to Brick Lane for the exceptional food and coffee since they opened. There is another review saying that they didn’t feel welcome because they’re Asian, but our family and many other customers are Asian too, and we love coming here. We’ve come here almost everyday for years and have always felt the warmest welcome from the business owners and the staff.
These fellas that run this palace have poured their souls into it, the food they create is amazing, they have a wide range of food that caters to all tastes at competitive prices. The menu is quite diverse making for a new meal everytime you visit. My favourite is personally the burger and chips, great value on the plate. Definitely would recommend brick lane for a coffee & catchup session.
Great coffee as you can see. Had a little scone aslo. Super friendly staff. I have seen it very very busy here. So be patient. You wouldnt blow up at your doctor if you had to wait 10 minutes. Hospitality staff work themselves extremely hard to get you your morning delights so sit the F down and wait your turn. Cheers
After waiting 10 minutes in line for a takeaway coffee, someone pushed I front of several people who were all waiting. A man then pushed to the front of the queue, I informed the gentlemen that there was a long queue, and he obviously ignored me - the CSR, assured me that I would receive my coffee before as the man had evidently pushed in.We made a comment to the man, after paying for our coffee that it was proper etiquette to wait in line to be served. The owner of the cafe and barista at the time, rudely interjected, berating me and my family. He informed us that the man whom had pushed in was he’s uncle, and that he didn’t matter that he had pushed in. It was ok for both the owner of the cafe and his uncle to treat us inappropriately, berating us in front of other customers - but not ok for us voice our opinion. We asked for our money back and the owner laughed at us as he told us to get a coffee down the road. We did, and the service at the other cafe was exceptional.Overall, regardless of how coffee tastes, customer service is always a deciding factor in my dining choices and this is the rudest cafe that I have been to in a very long time, I would not recommend it and I will be sharing my experience with my local community networks.Image: showing us getting our money back after being treated disgustingly by the owner of the cafe.
Exquisite breakfast! Got the special a few days ago and was not disappointment. Trying to work my way through the menu and so far haven’t found anything I don’t like!
