Great place to feel the sun go down, good local feel to it. Plenty of tables. Service is quick for drinks and food. Food servings are massive, very generous. Highly recommend.
We had my Dads 85th birthday here today. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The ambience is lovely with its old school hall vibe, and the food was absolutely delicious. Amazing experience.
Great local / regional pub. Beer garden perfect for an outdoor drink or meal. Good selections of local and other beers on tap. Would come back :-)
Good food, good beer, good music, good crowd.
After a great day of mtb bike riding...This was the best finish for the day..Food so satisfying and the beer cold...Great service... welcoming staff...Well remembered....
We came for dinner after a wedding. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Great drinks selection. Food was delicious. The place was very busy but we had a good spot out the back for our big group. Sand pit for the kids is a nice touch!
A great pub with friendly staff and good beer on tap😃
The house gnocchi is the absolute bomb. Best meal I have had in a long time.
Best steak Ive had in a very long time! Great combination of Brussels sprouts, cauliflour mash, onion and perfect med-rare steak, so good.
Great food, good service, reasonable prices. Looking forward to going back there next time I am in Castlemaine. Four of us went for dinner and we all enjoyed our meals.
Had a lovely entree serving sized meal which was delicious and a glass of sparkling. It was a lovely end to the day
Great food, great service, awesome atmosphere! 10/10. Will be back!
Deluxe parma was amazing. Cute vibes too
We got take away Chicken Parmigianas tonight from the ISO menu and holy cow, talk about bang for your buck! $24 for a huge parma, massive serving of chips and a more than generous sized salad. Neither of us could get all the way through our meals. We were also pleased to see that the salad was served in its own separate container, not put underneath the hot food like weve gotten from other places. Well definitely be ordering from the Bridge again!
Nice and cosy friendly staff good meal not so sure about the music wasnt my favourite
Went for Wednesday evening. Staff were attentive and informative. Full table service is provided. Good choice of meals and I can recommend delux parma. The chicken was thick, juicy and tender, the topping delish and the salad was leafy but also enough tomato, cucumber and carrot to actually be a salad. The dressing was yum as well. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Highly recommended.
Great meal, friendly staff and very attentive. Well done
A lovely local pub with friendly staff and a great beer garden. Good selection of drinks on tap including some from local breweries like Love Shack and nice food options too. Reminiscent of The Napier in Fitzroy.
Had dinner here whilst staying at Big 4 Castlemaine just across the road. I had a Parma Deluxe which was very nice. My wife had a Scotch Fillet which was ordered as a medium but was cooked rare. To their credit they replaced it with a new Scotch Fillet cooked medium. So with that in mind Ive rated 4 stars, otherwise it would of been 5 stars.
Great pub with a wonderful vibe and very good food
Unfortunately another terrible experience, quiet easily the worst steaks I’ve ever been served, no steak knives, told twice but two staff members that they would find some for us, 20 minutes later an apology that they forgot us and that they had no steak knives and walked off. The fire and beer garden were lovely but the food and service was a real let down again
Great live music, tasty food, friendly staff, good selection of beer, and really lovely beer garden. Sunny Sunday arvos with music on the outdoor stage are a particular favourite.
Friendly staff, great service. Fantastic meals.
Went for the afternoon. Staff were slightly uninterested at times, if you werent a local it seemed. However Harcourt cider on tap, very tasty snacks.Dinner a bit expensive so didnt stay for that.Overall a lovely pub ☺️ Would go again to see if it was just an off day
Had a great time at the Bridge. A terrific tap range with locals and other Victorian independent beers on offer. My only qualm was that we didn’t order food here. Also, the toilets could do with a reno!
The meal was delicious & quiet large I couldnt finish it
Two of us for midweek dinner, one ordered the sous vide kangaroo and the other the beef burger. The beef burger was ok, but the beef patty was very crumbly and could have done with a binder of some kind, the kangaroo was inedible, presented raw in the middle with a very untoward taste and smell - we took it home to give to the dog. Wont be ordering the kangaroo sous vide again.
Great vibe and good food. They have a great indoor and outdoor area. Live gig and great atmosphere. Must visit
Great place to grab a drink and pub food. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Great selection on the menu. Beer garden out the back with live music soothes the soul. Great vibe. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff is just the beginning. The food is sensational and a single main is big enough to feed a family.Well done. Keep doing what youre doing.
The food and service was second to none. The staff were very accommodating as we arrived without a booking on a Saturday night. I would recommend it.
The food here was really amazing. Certainly correct when you say tricked up pub food! I ordered the Kangaroo and it was cooked to perfection cut like butter the salad and warm root vegetables paired with goats cheese cheese made the match complete, well done.
Worst so called vegan burger ever tasted, very disappointing. The online menu shows a few vegan options that sounded good, but the staff had never heard of them if you are vegan this is not the place for you
Excellent customer service & great food. Music was great too. Friendly place with a few interesting brews on tap. Certainly worth checking out next time youre in Castlemaine. Easy parking. Close to the Botanical Gardens.
Extremely relaxing and well loved hotel. Quality band playing today "Fulton Street" from Melbourne who soothed my soul with soul and jazz. The courtyard is so cosy and aesthetically pleasing. 🌿 Exceptional for kids with sandpit, and dogs are allowed, very lovely to observe. An amazing variety of food and very good servings. Caters to vegans and vegetarians. Wine variety of good quality and locally sourced. A venue I will definitely return to for friendly atmosphere, music and delicious food.
Let down by the food, everything else was great.Enjoyed the wine, the service, the decor and the friendly vibe. The food, not so much. Maybe next time well stick to pub classics. The slow cooked brisket special did not resemble anything slow cooked, it was a dry slab of unappealing meat and the so called "confit" ie also slow cooked duck was flash fried like KFC. The veggies and plates were cold. Greens nicely cooked, but the "smashed kiflers" tasted like yesterdays potato salad, complete with seed mustard. Well try again, maybe the chef was having a bad night.
Quanity over Quality sums it up - My deluxe chicken parma was good - but overly sized and served on a bed of terrible soggy potato chips - her porterhouse was cooked correctly but chewy and served with burnt (not sauteedbrussell sprouts tasted like charcoal and there was enough sweet potato to feed an army. Table service was poor - but the 2012 Barfold Cab Sav was great!
Ordered the deluxe parmigiana and ended up with a chicken schnitzel, no gravy no sauce... My wife asked the special rice which tasted a bit weird. Food was pretty bad overall. We sat at the back around the outdoor area and was feasted upon by quite a big number of mossies.. Not their fault but just as a cautionary tale. Wont be back and dont recommend.
$27 for a chicken parmigiana without ham, poor excuse for a ‘salad’ and dumped on the chips.Kitchen also needs to understand the difference between a burger and a rissole, because that’s what we got in the burger. So dry and overcooked. $27 as wellBeer was nice and cold, bar staff were friendly, but the food was a major letdown.
This pub was a place for my cousin Ben wedding, I loved the history & the staff are amazing. With an out door fire pit on cool days what more can one ask for. So pop in, have a cold one & say hello.
This really is the best pub around. If you can prove me wrong I will buy you a drink, at this pub because youre wrong.Great food, two pool tables, live music, top notch chairs, friendly locals and legendary staff.Worth the trip to town but dont tell everyone because I still want to get a table every now and then.
Lovely place. Band on the weekend is great.Excellent work finding everyone a seat. Great atmosphere. Easy mix of local and visors.Food also looks excellent.
A great place to sit out the front under the vines, watching the world go bye.Great beers with White Rabbit Dark on tap and you must try the various salads, to die for.Just a wonderful experience on a beautiful sun-filled day
Quirky old workers bar that has been reinvigorated into a thriving live music venue.Great for a midweek dinner with friends, or Friday night drinks in an otherwise quiet country town.Has a cosy kid friendly beer garden for lazy afternoon sessions as well, and if youre lucky, there might be a paddling pool popping up in the summer heat to cool you down.
Great food. No baby change table though so the sofa cushions sufficed. Some meals on our table got a bit delayed but when it came it was great. We got two small plates and one main to share between two adults. The cob lettuce salad was particularly amazing.
Rustic hidden gemThe food was full flavoured and with an authentic home cooked flavour. A great outdoor seating area to sit and enjoy the sun. Good selection of beers on tap. Will certainly be back!Would love to see some specials on the menu.
Our meals were great, offered tasty vegan options, not at all overpriced and staff were friendly. Greeted everyone pleasantly and dealt very well and professionally with some patrons who were disgruntled about the unavailability of certain beers due to a broken fridge at the end of the night. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing! Went there last night for dinner and I cannot rate it high enough. Had the steak with hassleback potatoes and bone marrow and it was seriously one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. And I have tried a LOT of steaks in a wide range of top restaurants around the world! It was cooked to perfection! The beer garden had the best atmosphere and it just made my night when they started the fire pit. Thanks so much! My fiance and I will definitely be back. We loved it!
I’d give this 0 stars if I could. Absolutely shocking food and service. Had to wait 90 minutes for food to arrive and there was no warning of the horrendous wait time when we ordered at the bar. When it finally arrived the chicken burger had the consistency of tuna and the bun disintegrated into pieces. The main room was also freezing. Really inadequate heating for a 12 degree day.
Great potion delicious food. mussels broth was excellent and chicken Parma with great flavours of Napoli sauce thin hand cut chips! Great outdoor sitting area. Good Selection of drinks and price .
