Bruff's in Lyon County

I see the reviews on here saying good steak. These people don’t know what a steak is. This was the absolute worst steak we have ever had. One was over cooked so my son sent it back and got a second one which wasn’t much better. Mine was very dry and tough. We are big meat eaters and neither one of us finish they were so bad. We have never ordered a medium rare steak so dry and tasteless, and tough. We spent over $100.00 there and had to stop at McDonald’s on the way home to get a hamburger.

Food is good. Service is excellent...Ask for John, he took great care of us!

First time ever in Bruffs for our 40 yr class reunion 2yrs late.due to covid. Had an amazing time with many people I havent seen in 42 yrs. We were treated and cared for by an amazing staff that went above and beyond. Thanks Bruffs

First time for me to come here, second for my husband. Service was good, food was not. Ordered the 10 oz ribeye and it came out paper thin with so much salt on it I could barely eat it. Had to stop about halfway through. Salad was a bowl of chopped lettuce with a few tomato pieces on top. Overall meal was NOT worth the price I paid. Very disappointed and we won’t be going back.

Food was wonderful. Waitresses were great.

We were told that all appetizers were half price. When we got on our bill we were charged full price. We brought this to our waitresss attention and she said that "management said that those appetizers were cheap enough already". We had ordered dinner as well.

Menu is so bland and small got seated and we sat there for about 10 minutes waiting for a server which never came so we left didn’t even get drinks can’t use the excuse they were busy because they were 100% not at all busy can’t say I will ever go back how sad

Food was good. Good place to watch a football game. Prices were reasonable.

We have been driving past this place for 3 yrs saying we need to go, chicken was dry no seasoning.I would of liked a steak but prices were ridiculousPretty disappointed 😞My husband did like his burger they made it the way he liked it and cooked his sweet potatoe fries extra fried he loved both.

Got there was told to seat myself,which I was fine with. Then we just sat there waiting on a server. I’m a big guy so doubt they didn’t see me. So we just left. They did tell me thanks and to have a great day on my way out.

Frozen food and burned burger. Nothing homemade that I could find except for the dinner roll. That was good. Loud loud loud too.

Been to Bruffs three times. Staff is friendly, fast, and accommodating. Food is decent for a sports bar. The usual sandwiches, tater-tots, burgers..... I definitely consider it a sports bar rather than a steak house. Having said that, I have not had a steak there as of yet. You shouldnt expect a fine dining experience, but they seem to be customer service oriented. They Have NFL network and Amazon TN-Football. Lots of screens so you can watch the game. Pool tables. I like it enough to go back.

Very nice people and delicious food.

The waitress didnt write anything down, maybe if she did she wouldnt have had to ask us our drink order again and still got it wrong. Didnt get our dinner salads and our food came out literally 2 minutes after the appetizers. The marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks tasted nasty and the chips and salsa were bland. At least the dinner was hot. Definitely not worth the $48. Not coming back.

Great place to catch a football or sports game with several large TVs and projectors. Decent food, good drink selection. But the service is where it’s at. We had Kaylee (hope the spelling is correctwho definitely took good care of us. If I’m ever back in Emporia this will be my Monday night spot.

Only rating it a 2 because of their host. A host ignored me when i walked in and then helped the people behind me. She asked if i had a togo and i said no i just wasn’t happy she ignored me and helped others when i was there first made me feel like she did it on purpose. I had 3 other people meeting me here and her ignoring me when i first walked in and watching her help people behind me i just am not going to give a good review. service was excellent from our server i would be giving a 5/5 for the server part she was perfect.

Worst food I ever had steak not cooked right so much salt on it couldnt eat it bill was 75.00 they run card for 87.00 after me giving waitress a 10.00 cash tip long story short one of the nastiest meals Ive ever had cost me $100.00 peoe b ware

Nice food but very salty. Friendly staff and good beer.

The 10 ounce Ribeye was thin, but it was very good. And the loaded baked potato was good. The strawberry shortcake was a disappointment, it was not handmade, it was one of those premade things.

Our food was very good everything was put on the plates nicely.....had a wonderful waitress.....better than when we went like a month ago......

Get rid of those big obnoxious chairs already.step your food game up.reminds me of cafeteria food.

From waaay out of town dropped in on road trip. EXCELLENT service and food. Warning the burgers are big!

Went for lunch and had the bourbon boneless wings (delightfuland the french fries. I did not like that during lunch they served the food in a basket vs a plate. The waitress was great! Affordable!

Sweetpoato fries were raw in middle and outside overcooked in color, also cold. Chicken fingers dry and warm, not hot. My husband ordered 30 minutes later and his chicken fingers was hot and moist. Why?

Great food, good prices and a good selection of beer. Great sports atmosphere with plenty of TVs to watch. The burgers and steaks in particular are very good here! One of the best locales in Emporia to go eat.

Great steakhouse. Everything was great they were packed with graduation crowd but the service and food were top notch

Went in on 3/30/22 and took awhile to be seated. My alcohol drink took a long time to arrive and overall atmosphere was too country for my taste. Server was nice enough but I probably won’t be back.

Larger portions of food that we didnt quite expect and it was good. Left feeling full and with leftovers. The house fries were envied at the table. Definitely try the appetizers, but expect that it gets busy. We showed up at 16:15 on a Monday and by the time we left about 80 minutes later the place was pretty full. Lots of good decor and if they want that gold car of Clints to complete their die-cast collection, my boyfriend knows who owns one, lol.

Nice place to eat and relax. Lots of TVs and tons of seating. Great service and a surprisingly diverse menu.

Our waitress was Awesome have absolutely no problems or complaints about her . The food was horrible !! My wifes grilled chicken was dry and so loaded with salt she couldnt even eat it and her salad tasted like mold . I ordered the Orange roughy with a small bowl of chilli and mashed potatoes and gravy . What I got was a 3 1/2 to 4 inch piece of fish that had seasoned salt on it , barley warm and tasted like the freezer , my bowl of chili was loaded with salt , couldnt even eat it , the mashed potatoes were not even real and they were very dry. My daughter got the chicken fingers and they werent to bad . So this will be the last time we ever eat there again.

Service was a little ridiculous. Waitress did NOT ask for help with a party of 30 when she definitely should have!The mozzarella sticks were absolutely disgusting. No seasoning, cheese was not stringy.... The cheese fries are just fries with shredded cheese that I could make at home for cheaper than 7.99.All in all a visit to Kansas for a death, resulted in a very horrible lunch.

My 1st time visiting this establishment.KC strip too expensive for what we got. Steak was barely half an inch thick. $21.99 for the small one.

I was with a railraod reunion group, had one waitresses, she did a fine job. Everyone liked the food and meat, however all high carb vegetables & deep fry.. Only had salad. No fruits, no green beans, nothing for low calories.

Large post funeral crowd descended upon Bruffs like a hoard of ravenous locusts. Our waitstaff handled herself very well. Courteous apologetic and informative as she was in the weeds from the 1st order. The food came out hot and timely and hats off to the chefs.

I had the KC Strip 16 oz it was really really good. Melt in your mouth good. I also had green beans they were pretty good a little greasy, may be what they seasoned with that made it that way. We had there potato skins were really good. They had crisp skin with some potato on them and on top of that was cheese and bacon with side of ranch if you want it. My mom had piece of cut up steak with onion and mushroom. She enjoy the mushrooms so she forgot to eat the steak. You can add mushrooms to any meal.

Eaten here many times, usually service is good and food is ok. Last time though two of us asked for onion rings to be subbed in for the fries as the side... "no problem" was the answer. We each got 4-5 onion rings (no friesas expected on each plate. Then... they rang up $6.99 PER plate saying they had to charge for a "side" order??? We didnt order (or gettwo "side orders" (which would have been much more than we wanted); nor did we get fries (we asked to be substituted), but we got a bill for TWO plates-- $14 up-charge for about 8-10 onion rings. I went to talk with the manager, who immediately said the owner wouldnt "budge" (so we know this happens a lot when the manager has a "canned" response like that!). The poor waitress was new and apologized for this completely dishonest practice. I hope she gets a better job and Ill not be eating here again.

Loved it. Traveling and just happened upon. Food was very good. I had fish which was cooked just right. Best thing was dessert! The strawberry shortcake was sooo good! I ate the whole thing and its big enough to share. The staff friendly and efficient, area clean and nice decor. Highly recommend.

Fun family owned, college town sports bar.The menu includes: wings, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, salads & a variety of appetizers.The bar is small, but put together well. I have terrific service every time I dine here.The location leaves something to be desired. It’s tucked back in a corner between the interstate and a budget hotel.

I was really disappointed when I took my family there. It used to be a great place to hangout and eat. The beers are almost $6 a piece and the food we had was either came frozen or from a can yet its priced like its made fresh. I made the comment that my meal reminded me of a school lunch. I know what we ordered was definitely not worth the $100+ we spent especially since we didnt even eat it. So sad to see that place has really gone down hill.

Great service and we were helped real quick! Much better than the brewery place across town that had empty tables but a wait! Pretty yummy good food.

Got the 20oz Ribeye medium rare...OMG!!! Best steak I have had in a long time. Glad they left the fat which gives a steak its flavor, waitress was incredible and nice atmosphere fair priced for excellent food.

Chicken Fried Steak wasnt very manly. Put a quality piece of meat on the plate, and people that love chicken fried steak will pay more than $8.99.Just a suggestion.Other than that everything else was great. I will be back to try some of the other tasty looking items on the menu.

We went to Bruffs on a Friday evening. The waitress was very nice and helpful. We placed our order. The salad was very good. We both ordered the Chicken fried steak dinner. One of ordered regular fries with it, they were fine. I ordered home fries... when they came they were very dark and looked as if they had been heated many times. I could not eat many of them because they did not taste right. And for the chicken fried steaks... I honestly question whether or not they actually were meat or a fake concoction. The taste was very bland and doughy tasting. We will not return.

Bruffs is a Sports Bar in Emporia. The staff is friendly and pretty quick to take care of drinks and your order.Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired. It tastes like they pulled it from the freezer and heated it up. Nothing tasted fresh. Work on the food and well come back.

Went there on a Sunday evening. Service is great, food is mediocre nothing great but not bad. I would probably go again. Bacon chicken wrap didnt have real bacon, they used bacon bits which was a little disappointing. Prices are decent as well. More of a sports bar.

Bruffs has been around for a long time now (about 20 yearsand the food is always good... This is a bar and grill with a very large party room you can rent anyway Bruffs has burgers, sandwiches, steak, seafood & yes beer :-)They also offer carry-out & catering.I do recommend them.
