Burket United Methodist Church in Kosciusko County

I have visited Burkett on many occasions alone, with family and with friends it has always been a blessed time in the Lord. The Pastor is a great visionary leader & the congregation has shown themselves to be very warm and welcoming.

It is a wonderful small church. God is working through this church!

This Church is a JOKE! My father became a part of this church months before he passed away in April and let me tell you, the lack of respect from the pastor is quite sickening! During my fathers viewing, there we a few family issues, which everyone was expecting to happen! My brother, who just lost his father, was obviously upset and having a very hard time with our loss, was told, BY THE PASTOR, that the pastor knew our father better than any of us three kids! Do I need to remind you that I am the youngest and I am 22? my brother is 27 years old! He might have known my father on a spiritual level, but there is no chance in Hell that he would have known our father better than us children did! Then, at one point in time, the pastor kicked every one out of the church except immediate family because he didnt like that there were a few hickups! He tried locking me out of the church when I went out to figure out what was going on and threatened to not let me back in for my own fathers funeral! He also threatened to only allow my step-mother and step-sister be present for the funeral, which is very disrespectful to his biological children and his family that deserve that closure!Two weeks after my fathers passing, my step-mother who is on disability, was having a rough day and didnt make it to church. Upon seeing this pastor again, he told her, and I quote, "God is going to strike you for not being at church and he is going to strike you hard! I might even strike you!" Im sorry, but if you think that is appropriate, then this church might really be for you!So, in closing, the pastor is very disrespectful, self-righteous, judgmental, rude and inappropriate! And no, I am NOT the only one who had a problem with this man!
