It was a lovely place . Food perfect.
Put warning signs about the hill because I almost pooed myself
Beautiful cafe, with gorgeous views of the Irish Sea. We tried some Welsh pastries and they were delicious.
Stunning location, we only had drinks. Served quickly and the staff were helpful and friendly. Although you order at the bar the drinks are brought to your table.
Lovely staff and cafe all very helpful and kind! Got great views overlooking beach
Beautiful place. Thoroughly recommend. Its a gem that I didnt know existed
The cafe is near the National Welsh Language Centre. To reach the cafe you need to drive down a long steep windy road to the bottom. There is a free car park. From the car park you walk down the path towards the beach to reach the cafe. The cafe has a number of seats inside and outside. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cafe serves a range of food and drinks at reasonable prices. There are a number of walks from the cafe. There is a path that leads down onto the beach.
Wow what a hidden gem this is. Went today for lunch and it was amazing. Food & drink was gorgeous, staff were great and the views are just breathtaking. Cant believe weve never been before but we will definitely be going back 😍
Nice little cafe, interesting location with stunning views. Well filled sandwiches.
Ordered takeaway sandwiches for our walk to the beach and they were excellent. Stopped for tea and scones on the way back equally as good . I would certainly recommend.
Lovely spot for some lunch. Can recommend the Welsh rarebit
Huge slices of cake and fantastic views with a spot of history thrown in. Lovely.
Had the Welsh burger and chips which were delicious. We had been sat at the table an hour and a half and the tables hadnt been cleared. The cafe was quiet! A waitress brought our food and left my husband holding a tray full of glasses that he had moved for her to put the food down. She started walking off and I had to ask her to get the tray off him 🙈.
Beautiful place to visit. Lovely views.Fantastic pot of tea.
Beautiful tucked away gem! The views are breathtaking and some may think the drive down to it is as well but for different reasons, the road is a zig zag of a steep rollercoaster ride...I personally loved it Haha! The cafe staff are friendly and helpful, all up to date with gov guidelines.Family benches and tables spread around, theres a walk down to the beach...very steep! There are other walks dotted about as well.Dogs welcome on leads but not inside the cafe itself.parking is free but there is a donation box for those that wish to pop in a few pounds.
If you like long walks and own dogs this isnt the place for you, there is a no dog policy, and no covered place to sit outside.
What a view, and to see the mountain goats aPerfect ending to the dayAlong with the homemade burgersWill worth visiting if you havent been.
Nice cafe, only had coffee, but the staff were friendly and there is a fantastic view, the cafe is nice and spacious
Great food, amazing location and views. Very helpful and friendly staff, well be going back very soon! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful views and the road up and down is amazing.. food was very nice although abit of a wait.. but enjoyable all the same..
Nice situation and cafe with great views of the coastline but café stops serving food when they have had enough after a busy lunchtime an hour earlier than advertised.
Great location but incredibly understaffed. Waited 30 mins for a black coffee. May be just an off day.
Beautiful views. Peaceful setting. Pleasant walks. Good food.
Nice cafe with good food. Only downside is no dogs and no outside covered area. As dog owners who got soaked on the walk down we had to sit outside in the rain with our food. It would be easy to.put a covered area up on their decking area for dog owners.
A very nice cafe, seeing good food at reasonable price.Interesting access road is not for the nervous driver.
Heck of a drive down but worth it. Lots of history around the beach and excellent food available at the café
Cafe fine but heritage centre closed so a wasted trip down steep hill. Gorgeous scenery surrounding old granite mine village
Great place, great food, great views
Excellent place for a walk and saw a seal in the sea. Food was excellent but had a bit of long wait with not many customers (that was my experiencegreat outdoor seating well worth a visit!
Aug 2020: Nice location on a sunny day.Long way down some hair pin bends, so just as well there was parking available..!!Serve hot food during the afternoon, though cakes looked good as well.
Ivonica Rose, the front of house (?), was a small miracle to be welcomed to at the Caffi! My girlfriend was hungry and tired and she single handedly saved our relationship. She deserves a public award! She managed to find a space for us, make us feel right at home, and her personality exudes brilliance and kindness. A promotion should be in order for her - even the gale outside thinks so.Oh, and the food was really good too. But Ivonica was the highlight!See you again!
Lovely staff, amazing food! Great view.
Great location, great food and service. Steep walk or drive down but worth it. Loads of industrial history in a beautiful setting.
Well cooked homemade food, good daily menu available. Hot and cold drinks available. We stopped for lunch. Lovely visitors centre and you can take a lovely walk on the beach.
Beautiful place with amazing views, just be careful when driving down the hill! Its very steep and only enough room for 1 car on the road (there is a few laybys downwell worth the trip.
Great place with great view and very friendly staff. They have gluten free and vegan cakes as well as soya milk. Very pleased.
Beautiful spot to spend an hour or two. Lovely terrace and building. Wonderful view. Part of a nicely restored and extended Quarry village on the coast. Also there is some sculpture and also goats.
Found this place by following the picnic sign posts. Decided to try the cafe because it looked so good and was not disappointed!Food was top notch, and the cakes were some of the best I have ever had.The views are amazing and the decor is very nice
Lovely atmosphere with a good selection of drinks, tea and coffee. Also some bits and bobs you can buy. Lovely x
Just had a fabulous Sunday lunch with 11 friends . Tender roast beef, Yorkshires and 3 veg. Delicious Sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.£15With views of the sea and hills.
Nice sandwich with side salad and coleslaw. Childrens tosties were also nice. Would be five star, particularly as views from Caffi are outstanding, but order was slow to arrive and we had finished our drinks. To be fair, the staff were all really friendly and helpful, and we did arrive at a busy time.
Just lovely! Very steep drive down to the village car park, then a small walk to the cafe. Beautiful views along the coast and out to sea. We paid £14 for a luxury hot chocolate, childrens luxury hot chocolate, cream tea for 1, slice of flapjack and slice of tea bread, all of which was hastily consumed! Reasonably priced given the location.
Wonderful place, complemented by lovely food. Looking forward to going back. Its a steep hill to walk down, and quite a challenge to get back up, so the car may be the best way to do it. :)
Excellent cafe beautiful view.
Fantastic place, beautiful location, wonderful views, lovely people.....and gorgeous coffee and food.Just sitting enjoying the views.... the peace and quiet makes for a great way to relax and escape from the pressures of today.Absolutely loved my visit.
Beautiful view, excellent drink, offering different milks for different diets, excellent food.We went with friends for a drink and a piece of cake. The piece of cake was massive, and tasty! From inside, we had a view on the sea and cliffs. The staff were very lovely and friendly.Well try to practice our Welsh next time.
Hearty lunch good value . Nice cake advice lunch first walk to the beach return for coffee and cake. Can get busy in summer and weekends much quieter out of season midweek .
Modern cafe / restaurant with fabulous sea views for many tables. Lovely food and good service. Outside seating which is dog friendly - but no cover in inclement weather.
I havent been back to this place for some years, but it was great. Its a really nice place to sit in the sun with a cup of tea and something to eat. The view is unbeatable. It sits right above the coast surrounded by bracken, and coniferous woodland, beneath old slate quarries in the mountain sides. I will return again sometime soon!
Really lovely food and great service from all the staff, great place to recharge after a long walk
