Thanks to the cold, callous veterinarian for not listening. My 10 year old cat was born with feline herpes from his mother as I told you. Stress (such as a car ride which is quite normalcauses increased inflammation but you, in your infinite wisdom and complete ignorance of listening to the owner/friend of the cat whom has actually dealt with this circumstance, refused to give vaccinations due to possible viral loads, and insisted upon expensive anti-viral formula that the cat refuses to eat and eye cream that is difficult to deliver. It’s a very good thing I keep my cat indoors at all time. This veterinarians advice might kill him. It certainly made him angry when she was trying to shove a thermometer up his rear while asking me to hold him despite the actual signs in the room that states owners should not do so. ( He actually bit me for the first time ever.)Do NOT bring your pet/companion here. Terrible service.

I would give 0 if i could. My cat needed emergency surgery because she got pregnant from my other cat whom this very vet said was a girl. Later found out “she” was a he. By the time I found out, my female cat was giving birth two days later. The first kitten birth I had to take my cat to the ER because it was on a Sunday was the kitten was breeched and did not make it, the second kitten which was taken out by this vet was also breeched and deceased inside my cat which led to emergency surgery. They took 0 responsibility for falsely recognizing the gender of my male cat and a month later my female cat passed away. I called the vet and asked them if they knew how this could happen and once again did not take any responsibility. I am still catching up on vet bills to this day and this was about a year ago. I will never bring my animals here again, something went wrong during surgery and these people swept it under the rug. She was only 1 years old and in perfectly good health before this surgery.

Similar to what Nick recently said, the costs are getting absurd. They are now charging for services they never performed. We will be switching vets and contacting the BBB. Bottom line is they seem to be getting very greedy and hostile.

One star is being nice. It USED to be a great place. It has gone downhill the last few years. They keep making up new charges. They tried to charge me an office visit, and a “difficult dog charge” among other charges totaling $120 for a NAIL TRIM. I would suggest any other local veterinarians.Fairmount animal hospital is goodThere are places in Liverpool as well.You’ll pay an arm and a leg for the simplest thing. Absolutely absurd.

Dr.Otto was kind enough to see our rabbit on very short notice. We had made an appointment the following month for an annual visit, unfortunately our rabbit got sick this week with possible gastric stasis. This is the first time she has been sick in seven years 🤧 Most places request that you see an emergency care provider if the animal is not yet established for care. We couldnt be happier with the prompt, curteous service, and caring staff.

If I could give this a 0 I totally would. The person running this animal clinic is terrible she had an attitude, rude, disrespectful and cares more about the money lining her pocket then the animal coming in. Today I was told that they couldnt send out my sick dog lab work because I couldnt pay until tomorrow when my money cleared and she was rude. The nurse did not want to do that but had to go by what the vet said and on top of it she knows were good for money because we have always paid in the past with no issue. When the last vet left and was replaced by this one the service got terrible. I will be finding a new vet ASAP!!!! I will NEVER go back to vet clinic that cares more about lining their pockets then they care about ensuring that an animal gets healthy.

We stopped for Dakotas annual checkup and rabies vaccine. As always the staff was friendly and courteous. Dr. Otto is an awesome vet. We have been coming here for 20+ years and have no reason to go anywhere else.

Today I was not happy with a veterinarian office at all! I about my bloodhound in to get her nails cut. When I went to pay she quoted me DOUBLE of what Ive paid in the recent past. When I questioned I was told it depends on who does her nails and whether or not its a weekday or a weekend. Supposedly I had an experienced tech do it today and it was during the week which supposedly costs more than somebody that would do them on the weekends! WHAT??? I mentioned I should have been made aware of that when I called for the appointment, cuz naturally I would have done it on the weekends or like I will be doing from now on out go somewhere else. Really not happy

Would give a 0 if possible. The woman who runs this place is a absolute joke and could care less about animals in my opinion. Look around anywhere for better services, it doesn’t matter how long you have been going to them. This clinic will try and rob you of every penny they can. Not a animal lover in sight here.

Our cat feels very comfortable with the vet. Staff are warm and friendly.

The visit was good, but the wait and waiting room can definitely use some work and better layout.

Courteous,professional and reasonably priced. Dr. OTTO shows great kindness and is gentle with her patients. Would not go anyhere else. A 1 the whole staff.

Awesome place that truly cares about your pet

I was extremely dissatisfied with our first, and only, appointment with this office yesterday. When I made the appointment, I explained that my dog was very reactive to other dogs. They made her appointment to be the first after lunch hour. I arrived a few minutes early, only to watch two dogs walk in, which immediately set my dog off, after being told this appointment time would avoid this very issue. When I called the office from outside in the parking lot to let them know that I could not bring her in, knowing there were dogs in the waiting area, the reaction from the staff person was as if I had done something wrong, and was inconveniencing them. Accommodations were made to bring us into the back door, and we were quickly escorted into an exam room. I was then asked if I brought her records, which I had previously had sent over from our previous office. I would think they would have pulled those records prior to the exam? We were then left alone in the room for FORTY FIVE minutes! My dog heard other dogs, which set her off. I could hear other animals being worked on in the back. I would not expect to wait that long being the first appointment after lunch. Nobody apologized for the wait. Nobody even popped their head in to let us know they were running behind. What was a simple check-up took an hour and 25 minutes.Also, this visit cost me more than any visit to our previous veterinarian, with the exception of her spay surgery.I will be returning to my previous vet, despite the fact that it is 30 minutes drive. They are much more accommodating to reactive dogs, much friendlier staff, and a much nicer office in general.Editing to add:Camillus Animal Clinic has ignored my emails, but did reply to my Facebook review, making the excuse that "emergencies happen".They sent only a vaccine reminder sheet to my previous vet, and nothing else. That vet then called for the other information, and they had the courtesy to contact me to let me know that her bloodwork came back negative for heartworm and 3 other diseases.I have changed my review from 2 stars to 1, as they have proven even more incompetent than I previously thought.

Very good, thorough, and professional veterinary services.

My first experience was as a frantic parent of my ferret George. I was not a patient at the clinic and I was new to Camillus. The woman on the phone was kind and calm and immediately got me an appointment. Every person there, in whatever role they play, is kind, considerate and genuinely interested in your furry. My pets like everyone - even though it is a doctors appointment. I would recommend this veterinarian office to anyone looking for a permanent home in family pet care.

I have been going to Camillus Animal Clinic for decades. Everyone there is so compassionate and answers all your questions no matter how long it takes. We usually see Dr. Otto with Kovu & Casper( Kovu is a handful - but everyone is so helpful with him). Dr Otto is awesome. We have also seen Dr. Cox on a few occasions-she is wonderful too. So glad to have great doc’s for our pets.

I love Dr. Otto and staff. They are always kind and respectful. Im on my second dog here and really enjoy the service, professionalism, and care. It seems a little expensive, but as an electrician I have heard people say that about my trade even when there is little profit margin... maybe I just wish it was cheaper ;)

I’ve been bringing my dogs to Camillus Animal Clinic for almost a decade now. The staff are always compassionate and patient, even though my dogs can be a challenge (and that’s putting it nicely!). Thank you for taking such good care of Gatsby, Olivia and Benjamin (who has since crossed the rainbow bridge).

I love taking my dog to Camillus Animal Clinic. The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Otto has always taken excellent care of our dogs.

This review in no way is to criticize the veterinarians at Camillus vet clinic. We have been taking our German Shepherd to this clinic for the past year the veterinarian care was great. There unfortunately is one staff member that caused us to change providers. Every time we would see this woman she was extremely rude and abrupt the final straw was when our dog was sick we had brought in a fecal sample the night before her appointment to get a Smear test for parasites. The next day we brought in another sample to possibly be sent out to test for another illness. The vet said it was not needed but the staff took the sample and ran the same smear test that they had run the evening before. When I questioned why this test had been run twice once admittedly by accident. She refused to take the charge off and replied in an angry tone saying it could’ve changed within a couple hours that it had been done. The problem is they did the test without our authorization. I hope that $35 charge was Worth losing a life long customer. Then to top it all off when we asked for our records to be sent to a different provider she told me she could not do that until we paid for the paper that they would fax the records on! What????

Always excellent care from Dr. Otto and her staff. She takes time to call you back to listen and advise you on whatever the situation is. She explains things at length and thoroughly and even says if you have any more questions to call her. Thank you Dr. Otto for taking care of my baby today!

Theyve always been able to quickly diagnose any problems weve had with our cats for a very affordable price. Excellent staff and experience

If I could make the selections of 0 stars I would. I feel robbed everytime I walk out of here. The prices for animal care are outrageous compared to other neighboring veterinary. I was quoted $1200 for a minor cyst removal that another vet did for $175. It also took them SIX DAYS to get me the offical quote. It was double what the tech estimated at the initial visit. My dog had been biting at her leg and bleeding all week and at the appointment we expressed that we wanted the cyst on her leg removed ASAP. All of the tech and doctors have always given us good care but are not worth the price. Dont accept quotes on medical care without getting a second opinion.

1st visit here. Staff welcoming and friendly. Dr Otto helped with the difficult prognosis and treatment of lymphoma in our much loved dog.

I had an emergency with my dog and they were outstanding! Im a new resident so I had not been there before. Loved the staff and how quickly my dog was treated!

I brought an abandoned kitten I found to camillus animal clinic and every staff were the best! From the moment I walked in the professionalism was over the top. I asked a lot of questions and everyone was answered. You have a pet, go here. Im so glad I did!!

I would not recommend Camillus animal clinic to any one.The receptionist is very nice , the doctor was very nice.....unfortunately I was not told that the blood work for my cat would cost over $200 at the time it was drawn . I also had to ask to be educated about thyroid and kidney before they took my cat to draw the blood because nothing was explained.then they would not give me his medication for his ears, for his infection, because I couldnt pay it in full for 4 days. (Paid half). Because they did not tell me it was such a large charge for the blood work...they also charged me a percentage on top of that payment even though I was going to pay it within 4 days...set by the very strict owner..... Now to day theyre telling me that because the blood work is only good for 48 hours I need to bring him back in.... within a week!! Which I cant promise I can do.... Which means I would have to pay for another office visit and put pay for the blood work all over again ($260! and have them draw blood out of my cats and neck again!!They never even sent the blood work out even though the vet said she was very concerned about my cats weight loss! Obviously she wasnt that concerned!!Also my cat did not have fleas until he left there and started scratching constantly ..I believe he caught fleas from there.😢.. not good practices, camillus animal clinic. ☹

The staff is very friendly. Dr Otto is very knowledgeable and I am so thankful to have her treat my pets. It is well above other veterinary clinics in our entire state.

Ive brought both my cat and rabbit here for checkups as well as serious issues and the doctors and nurses are phenomenal. My cat had a UTI, which can be lethal for females, and she was treated wonderfully and quickly by the doctors here and the staff all know her by name and remember us when we come in. I send everyone I know here for their pets and everyone is always very satisfied.

Nothing but wonderful things. My cat had to stay overnight for a neutering, and I was extremely nervous about it but they called me 3x to give me updates and took amazing care of him.

Excellent experience. Had to put my beloved St Bernard down. The staff was so compassionate. Made the experience as comfortable as it could be. Sent sympathy cards with my big babys paw print.

If you just need annual shots this place will do. If you have any serious concerns about your pets health go somewhere else. Incompetent, waited an hour and a half to see a vet to get told on two separate occasions they didn’t know what was wrong but they couldn’t “rule out cancer”. As a pet parent I never want to hear my pet may have cancer just because they don’t know what’s going on!! We went to another vet and turns out my dog has a bone disease, which is thankfully treatable. Don’t waste your time or money at this place.

Took rabbit here, they dont see too many small animals but they are familiar with them and are knowledgeable of them. Gave us great advice, will come again.

I had gone here years ago when I had my cat Blackie. I recently got a guinea pig names Mohawk and took him in for a check up. Long story short it was tough going back but they have always been so nice not only to the people but the animals. They love what they do and when I was there I really didn’t know what to expect but Dr Otto remembered not only me but my cat also! I was lost for words but I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Oh I lost Blackie 7 years ago and for them to remember her after that time I don’t know why you wouldn’t go here!! Thanks so much for being short
