TDY or leave locations for military personnel. Floor plan and how the building layout feels like a maze or land navigation course. But I am satisfied with my suit and service. Pretty neat and clean. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. They have breakfast for free. Also check out their gym as well. The location wise dining facility and gym are very close by walking distance.
Very nice accommodations, and very convenient location. The rooms have kitchenettes, there is a grocery store across the street, and most of the things you would be here for are within walking distance. It is so close to the CGSC that you are better off walking from the hotel, because it is closer than the schools parking lot. My only complaint was some mold in the bathroom, which was completely resolved minutes after I brought it to the hotels attention. Basically, everything is perfect.
The one redeeming quality about this hotel is its location. The breakfast is also decent. However, the extremely confusing layout of the hotel has guests wandering in circles. Its like a labyrinth. Also, the very limited laundry facilities make it cumbersome for those staying long-term here.
Runs out of breakfast items 40 minutes before end of timeframe. Called number to speak with staff and was received by an admin who had no clue what was going on or could provide any contact to a manager. Typical poorly run facility on base.
Best Army lodging Ive stayed at. Good breakfast and happy hour on Wednesdays.
Long wait for coffee to be delivered to room. Only clean once a week. Electric range had errors almost every day. Breakfast eggs and sausage was awful. Need better products. Frequently ran out of orange juice. Coffee served at breakfast was weak. Huge sized one bedroom. Need desk and a chair in bedroom. Free laundry machines. Confusing layout, most confusing hotel design ever. Nice staff but hardly ever saw them. Tiny towels at pool. Pool was great and clean and had great hours. Free iced water at gazebo in cooler was a great surprise. Gas grill and charcoal grill for free by reservation!
I stayed at Hotel Holiday Inn Express for eight days from 19th May to 27th May 2022. The hotel construction is very confusing, and one requires several days to get used to it. The hotel staff is also not very cooperative as they give you a map during check-in, which isnt very helpful. My overall experience was terrible because of the poor service. The hotel only offers weekly cleaning. Despite several requests to provide minor services, at least such as towels, cleaning trash cans, etc., the hotel staff never provided such assistance. I requested the manager as well, and though she promised full-service every day, I checked out without receiving any service. I stayed there with my wife and two kids, and we survived on three large towels only. We also ran out of shower gel on our fifth day of the stay. In addition, the lamp in master bedroom was out of order. I have also attached the picture of overflowing trash can.
The room size is amazing. Full size refrigerator is a definite plus. Beds are comfortable. Having 2 tvs, another plus. The breakfast is good.
This is my HOME AWAY FROM HOME!VERY affordable with clean rooms and baths, and the BED!!! Definitely worth wayyy more than the inexpensive rates I paid!!!GUARANTEED, Hodge Hall is where I stayeverytime I go to Ft. Leavenworth!
Nice rooms, good space and amenities. Could use a refresh and modernization. The architecture is odd with lots of half flights of stairs to stay on the same level across buildings. Breakfast is typical IHG, with quite a bit to be desired.
Top notch customer service and room comfort. We brought our Labrador retriever and it was a perfect stay for her as well. I’ll choose on base over off base any day. Their prices were very good compared to off base.
This is a good hotel. Stayed here for 6 weeks. The staff is very nice and accommodating. I appreciated the front desk very much. I had numerous packages delivered and they took extra care of them for me. It is on Fort Leavenworth. So enjoy the history of the base while here as well.
Brad and I really enjoyed our stay. The hospitality of the staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful. We loved the room and continental breakfast. The Rewards was an awesome incentive.
First time to visit Fort Leavenworth in Leavenworth KS. We had a lovely suite w/living room and dinning table. Everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were so comfortable and heavenly after a long day of travelling. Friendly staff. Due to Covid they are still doing the On the Go breakfast, but do have a few warm items . First time to see the Federal Prison, Leavenworth. It is a huge stately building more like something you would see in D.C.
Great value for the price. Comfortable and spacious room. The staff is very friendly and courteous. I didnt realize how much I missed the cinnamon rolls. The complimentary breakfast was good. The hotel was very clean and quiet.
Excellent value in a very clean facility. Good breakfast with great service. It could use an elevator. However, I will be back.
Excellent service from the front desk, to the breakfast staff. A little confusing to get around but once you get the flow you are all good.
Been here for my quarantine, and man I love this place and the room. The big bed and being able to connect my Xbox to the wifi made my stay amazing.
Convenient because it is on post, but thats about it. They assigned our family of five to two different rooms across the hall from each other, one of which was not even cleaned (the toilet had urine all over the seat). After complaining, we were allowed to consolidate into one room. Our room also had several cockroaches throughout the stay. And the grounds crew was always smoking on the sidewalks and in the parking lots.
Being a truck driver I have stayed at my share of Hotels, visiting my niece she just had her first baby. My mothers first great grandbaby, stayed one night! Super friendly staff, nice room (clean, spacious, and no bad smellsyou would be surprised at the last one at some hotels and great breakfast selection! Wished all hotels was like this one, making stays sweet. They have courtyard closed off from outside, nice to walk on a windy day!
Pretty good location and a good price. Free breakfast is always nice and I found it to be better than at most Holiday Inns. The layout of the hotel is very strange, but that may be due to the age of the buildings. Close proximity to the PX, commissary, and one of the post gyms. I’d say that plates and silverware should be added to the rooms, given that the rooms have a kitchen area. Complimentary toiletries were great!
Very big place. Most buildings do not have elevators. Seems to have old Red Roof Inn design with concrete ceilings which many know is not fire friendly. No sprinklers in my building so if fire, act quickly to get the hell out!!
The building is a maze and difficult to navigate the first few days. The cleaning of rooms is awful. They clean one a week. Even then they do not do a good job.The breakfast staff are amazingly sweet people.
The staff was very nice. The rooms are large. Simple things like changing towels and cleaning rooms did not happen. Many complaints from other guests expressing the same concerns.
This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, I’m glad the Army is paying for it and not me.Here are so things you don’t have to worry about during your stay here:1. Kitchenette... you will get a microwave and a minifridge2. Weekly room cleanings... they will skip your room and act like it’s an inconvenience to them when you request it be done like it’s suppose to3. Clean sheets... you will get them replaced with blood stained ones so you know they changed them4. Clean towels... you’ll have one towel replaced every 2-3 days of you like going green or not5. Fresh soaps, lotions, and face cleaning wipes... you don’t get those here unless you request them, again, an inconvenience6. Heat, you better call at least twice for them to fix it7. Laundry... hope you like waiting hours for people to get their laundry done, there are maybe two laundry rooms for every three buildings, good luckLast but certainly not least, if you are an IHG Gold, Platinum, Saphire... it doesn’t matter here, we are all equally worthless and they let us know it 🤣
I love staying in this hotel. Irma and Miya in the dinning hall made you feel right at home. Room was clean and comfortable. Only recommendation is that they get new bed sheets. First night we had to ask the sheets be changed because they were so old with little bumps on them.
Rooms were spacious and clean. The sheets were gritty and needed to be replaced. I didnt like the note from the cleaning staff requesting a tip. It lent to the appearance of an extra tax.
Visited Fort Leavenworth for Christmas break to visit our Soldier we had just a wonderful visit. We stood at IHG Holiday Inn Express on base for almost a week the rooms were very clean, the whole building was clean. I want to brag about their Shampoo, conditioner and body shop awesome great quality. Staff was amazing and helpful especially The front Desk Clerk Murphy she was very kind and pleasant to do business with. Would like to also make a complement to Irma in the breakfast kitchen very hard worker, friendly and welcoming. Thank you IGH staff you really left a good impression on my family and I. I can say we are full filled with joy Thank you againSincerelyJacqueline Moya
Have you seen the movie Labyrinth? Want to experience it in real life? Then this is the hotel for you. You’ll go through no less than 30 door just to get to the parking lot, only to find out you’re now on the other side of the building. One of the most confusing hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Breakfast was good though.
It was a nice place for an extended stay. There were cleaning and wireless coverage issues. The desk staff was very attentive to my needs. The shuttle to Walmart was an added plus. Everything I really needed was within walking distance, with the bowling alley, golf course, and Buffalo Soldiers Monument essentially across the streets.
no housekeeping! i understand that deep cleaning would only take place every 7 days during an extended stay, but by the 4th day, we had run out of towels, coffee & coffee cups. no one had restocked the room or taken the trash out. when i called the front desk, i was told i could come get whatever i needed. no apology, no offer to bring anything up. and it was only 4:15pm....the cleaning staff was still there. they came the next day, but then not for the next 3 days.by 8th day of the stay and i was still sleeping on the same sheets. gross.housekeeping did manage to leave a note in the room on the 1st day about leaving tips...not sure why...since they are not doing their job!
UNBELIEVABLE. I have been staying at this hotel for 7 weeks. During that time, the fire alarm has gone off no less than 7 times, early in the morning, late at night, while I have been bathing. I was told its because it is faulty and needs replaced! WHAT?! God help this place from the lawsuits if you really do have a fire and people quit responding for all the false alarms. To top all that off ALL of the room windows are screwed shut. It has been a horrible experience and nothing is done because they are a government contractor and know we are all at their disposal. Otherwise, its a great place!
We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Home Hall during a PCS move and had family stay while visiting and it has been enjoyable each time. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are a nice size, my only complaint was the kitchenette only had a microwave and mini fridge (ok for short stays but inconvenient while hotel living while waiting for a house). But overall a great value for the price and very convenient.
At around 0100 on the morning on 25 June, after traveling all day, my wife (who is pregnant), and our two children attempted to check in to the Holiday Inn Express on Ft. Leavenworth. I am in the Army, and my family was moving as part of my permanent change of station to Ft. Leavenworth. The problem was that the attendant at the front desk would not allow us to check in to the hotel without a vaccination record for our dog. We had a picture of the records on our phone, so we asked if we could email them. He said that we could not, and that we must have a printed copy. I asked to print them out at the hotel’s computer lab, but it was locked. After that he said that we could just email the records to him – it already seemed as if he were just making up rules. When he saw the records, he said that they were not acceptable because they were a picture of the document, and not the document itself. We did not have access to the original printed document as it was in the back of our trailer and we could not completely unload the trailer in the middle of the night to get to it. We explained all this to him, but he would not allow us to check in to the hotel. Instead, we elected to spend that night at a different hotel, even though it involved an additional 30 minute drive with my exhausted family at 0130 in the morning. We reviewed the documentation on the hotel’s pet policy, and could not locate any instance that specifies that vaccination records are required at all, let alone that it had to be in pristine form and that a picture would not suffice. We attempted to speak to the manager directly about this issue today (28 June), but he was not available.
The hotel is convieniently located near the commissary and exchange. The rooms are large, clean, and modern. There is a fitness center and laundry rooms (free of charge). The breakfast isnt overwhelming, but the staff is exceptional and the food selection is sufficient. Wednesday evenings they host a complimentary social with various barbequed foods. Contrary to other reviews, we had no problems with water drainage, insects, or rodents. Overall I recommend the hotel.
Room and bathroom was clean. Had a small "kitchen" area, but no plates or silverware :-(. Had a small living room area, which was nice to have a little space to spread out in. But the bed was small - a double. Tried to go to the pool, but they didnt stock the pool towels, so we gave up. Breakfast was good. Some Quaker oatmeal packets with some walnuts and raisins to mix in. Also had bananas, apples, and oranges.
The Holiday Inn Express at Fort Leavenworth Kansas was an enjoyable and comfortable stay. I was able to get a good nights sleep. The room had a bed a couch that folded out to a bed, and a microwave and coffee maker.
Spacious rooms, with a fridge, microwave, and TV in living room and one in bedroom. Layout of building is a little strange. Staff are friendly and everything seems well kept.
INFESTED. Unfortunately, while Ive seen mice run across the floor, my colleague counted as many as 5 sightings in just 15 minutes.Other than that, the housekeeping was generally terrible. The bed was turned down spastically at best, towels not replaced, and other amenities like coffee not restocked regularly.I think they need full sized fridges and cook tops. The rooms are large, there is a sitting room and a bedroom, a mini fridge and kitchen sink. There are no benefits for elite members. If you have the option to stay off post, you should.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and nice. We had a lovely and comfortable stay! Even the staff cooking breakfast were so nice!
Great large rooms with separate bedroom from the living room and kitchen. Kitchen has a microwave and fridge and a sink. Cabinets and drawers for dishes, glasses, pots, pans, silverware and utensils. However there are none in them. They must have removed all blunt and sharp objects prior to my arrival so I could not hurt myself or others. How thoughtful... Otherwise they do have free laundry machines in the hotel, you just have to pay for soap. Sorry folks no Tide pods to eat, only old fashioned powdered detergent and liquid detergent. Guess you will have to do it old school. However no one old school ate their laundry soap. And perhaps since they did not, it may be the reason why you are able to be here today. There are other features I have not seen before in a hotel. These include the unescapable maze of hallways where you think you are going one direction but in reality you are going the opposite way. Fear not there will be one guy (Paulin the hallway who will be looking at the map scratching his head with a perplexed look on his face. Whatever you do, do not ask him for directions. He was there three months ago and still hasnt found his room. They do have a little store upfront with has just about everything you will need. Minus utensils, dishes, pots and pans, and glasses. Perhaps it was meant for you to bring them from home. While Coco the gorilla beats someone mercilessly with your luggage at the airline. But thats a separate review... They also have a pizza machine. That cooks full size red Baron pizzas. Picture a giant toaster on its side. They gave me a pizza tray, pizza cutter, and a pizza slider on a stick. The drawer slides out and has a rack to place the pizza on. The filament hangs down to scortch the pizza on one side so the direction came from the front desk clerk to rotate the pizza in order to ensure even distribution of said scortching.and leave the door cracked so that it doesnt spontaneously combust destroying life as you know it. All said and done I am enjoying my time more than Paul. The adventure awaits!
Nice room, clean and updated. Layout of the building can be confusing. Breakfast is good except the scrabbled eggs. They tasted like powdered eggs.
Nice large suites, every room is a suite. Nice hotel. Great staff. The rooms are well maintained and well furnished. My room e even had nice hardwood floors in the kitchenette area.My only complaint would be that it is broken into nine it so buildings on a hill so getting around can be tricky. Its pretty much a maze. Other than that you really cant beat it.
The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. Rooms are more like apartments with a kitchenette, lounge area, eating area, and workspace. Hotel provided shuttle twice a week to Wal-Mart is great to stock up on snacks, drinks, or other needs for longer stays, and there are most necessities and some food available for purchase at the convinience area.
Hotel was nice for a military hotel, right next to the campus, bowling alley, commissary and golf course. Rooms were clean and spacious, and the breakfast was good too. Also, the hotel has a pool, which is rather uncommon for an on-base hotel. Great if you are staying on base!
Located on post, so convenient for military and families. Rooms are comfortably furnished, but air conditioning units are wall units, not central. Air remains damp. The layout is absolutely mind boggling, and difficult to navigate.
5 huge stars for the staff!!! I have stayed in way too many IHG properties over the years and have always found the staff helpful, but the people at Hoge are over the top. Amazing friendly, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to make your stay better. Hopefully IHG is recognizing these folks for their excellence. As for the building. It is a converted Army barracks (the 1+1 room modules turned into 1 bedroom suites with kitchenette). IHG did the best they could with soft goods, paint, and carpet. But the original building was clearly designed by an orangutan drunk on sour goats milk. You will spend the first day lost in the building trying to navigate the unspeakably complex floorplan. It is a 10+ minute hilly (what walk isnt hilly on Ft Leavenworth?to Eisenhower Hall so bring comfortable shoes. One thing the hotel could improve: there are no pots, pans, dishes, glasses, or utensils in the room. One of the staff let me borrow a big sharp knife (he volunteered it...just another example of how proactive the staff isto cut my pizza (another cool thing...they have a pizza oven in their little food store in the lobbybut would be nice to have those amenities like you find in a Candlewood. Actually would probably make more sense for IHG to rebrand this place as a Candlewood, just with the HIE breakfast. Especially since Ft Leavenworth basically closes down at 1800 and there are almost no options for eating dinner after that.
Great location for business in and around Leavenworth. On Ft Leavenworth, some called the biggest gated community in Kansas. Very safe and secure environment. Rooms are two room suites with living area and sofa sleeper, kitchenette, bath, lots of closet space. Great for extended stay. Have to ask for plates and utensils from front desk.
The room was very spacious, clean, and modern. The breakfasts were good, as was the Wednesday dinner. The only difficulty is navigating between the buildings, as the hotel is very spread out and has somewhat odd connecting hallways.
The rooms are great, the staff is awesome the hotel is a labyrinth to walk through. Breakfast choices are on point. One of the best on post army hotels of stayed at. I absolutely hate the layout though.
