Mark Hidden has been a God-Send since our daughter died recently.Sadly, we also lost our son.Liberty Mutual paid out, without issue, after we got his final death certificate.Dont wait to get insurance on your kids. You just dont know what the future will bring.
Honestly so far my experience has been amazing. I got in a car accident and they covered my car plus equity I built. After which there was no point for me to keep my insurance since I didnt have a car. I got a new car about a month or so later and they raised the price by $100. The lady told me it was because I cancelled my insurance and was considered a brand new customer. Ive been with then for over a year. Everything was great till I came back a second round. I am sorry I assumed it was going to be just as amazing as the first time:(
The Sale representative lie, the manager does not have good manera. Dont trust in this branch
Ive been a customer with them for like two years, called today to file a claim because my key got locked in the car and I needed to call locksmith, was told that my insurance policy was chosen not to be renewed as of this month due to my driving record. I dont have so much as a speeding ticket. thanks so much for the heads up that Ive been driving half this month without any insurance. 0 stars if I could.
WORST insurance, WORST customer service, WORST experience I have ever gone through. They just pulled out A TON of money our of my account that is not owed! I have opened up a BBB claim. Save yourself the headache and having your money stolen- go with ANYONE else.
After reading the reviews on liberty mutual before posting my own experience, it sounds very similar to others. After being in a collision caused by a liberty mutual driver, liberty mutual failed to respond to any correspondence, emails, phone calls etc. over a time span of six months! It really sounds like all of us should get together for a class action lawsuit. Liberty Mutual should not be able to continue conducting business. Beware. If I could give no stars or even negative stars, I would.
Liberty 🗽 Mutual InsuranceMy insurance went up 150.00. For some reason the company has taken their name off the review. This was Liberty 🗽 Mutual! I was told insurance changes monthly. I cancelled the policy and then get a notice staying my insurance has been canceled and I owe 289.00. I have gotten different stories months ECT saying I didnt pay. I guarantee I would not have had insurance if I did pay. I refuse to pay the 289.00 when I .had different insurance even. Stop trying to rip your customers off! I have
liberty mutual are crooks I was hit in my vehicle so hard in November my car was a total loss Im still in pain and all they offer for pain and suffering barely covers a month of bills... I sadly am still in loads of pain because of this accident and have to continue to ask my personal doctor for help with the horrible pain and what they offer doesnt cover the debt I got into so my daughter and I wouldnt be homeless. Dont do business with them and hope u dont get hit by one of their customers.
Liberty mutual has provided good rates but it takes for ever to get them. They will bounce you between 5 different representatives just to get a quote and every time they need all your personal information to start whatever meaning less process this specific representative does.
I tried paying my car insurance the day before it was supposed to cancel, but they wouldnt accept a 2 card payment and they took $105 from one of the cards and cancelled my insurance after, because I couldnt get ahold of customer service after trying for hours. I have a 3 month old that I need to take to and from doctors visits and now I cant even get to work when needed to pay a different car insurance. They said they would transfer me over to an escalation team, but then said its a 20 minute wait, I told them Im fine waiting the 20 minutes, but they refused to send me over still because they think its too long of a wait time. They do not care about family needs at all and are not willing to work with you with ANYTHING. They also refused to transfer me over to a supervisor. DO NOT go through them, I dont care how cheap your quote is...
Thee worst business to resolve conflict of errors on their behalf. I was two years in on auto employment deduction (loyal customerI switched careers with another place of employment that can continue the same service. My special representative MICHAEL BRADY was notified and confirmed that he will get the changes in necessary to continue. I have email proof and all that customer service and rewrites could say is that "YOU" MISSED THE PAYMENTS. Because MICHAEL BRADY failed to commit to his loyal clients. I went from 2300 premium to 3800 due to his team not taking from the auto deduction. MICHAEL BRADY this 1500 increase was all planned because youre in sales. I dont wish bad things on people but I hope COVID reaches you and your family this year.
Our vehicle was hit by a person covered by Liberty Mutual. Its been over a month since the accident which they determined a total loss but we still havent received the check. We are down a vehicle and they are not in a hurry to pay out. Really makes me glad we switched from Liberty Mutual years ago, Id hate for this to happen to someone I might hit.
Not happy at all with Liberty Mutual. After 12 years with these guys, rates kept slowly creeping up, after zero accidents and zero tickets, 500 a month for two cars, 1 car is 10 years old, the other 6 years old. They WOULD NOT work with me to lower rates until I called two days ago to drop them. Best thing I ever did. I give them negative 5 stars
Insurance sucks here. 100 dollar raise in a 6 month rate! No new tickets or accidents? You have to really pay for what you need! Look for a new company.
Liberty Mutual does not treat customers like people. They of coarse are all over getting your money, but when you total your vehicle due to manufacturing malfunction. Youll get left on the side of the road for 8 hours waiting for roadside assistance that they claim to have dispatched. (Never showed up, we had to pay for a tow ourselves. They have no consideration that you are out of a vehicle. I have been calling and leaving messages, emails for the last 5 days.. and still nothing. This company doesn’t want to give you what you pay for every month. I have never been treated this way by and insurance company. Save yourself the headache and stress that comes with getting what is literally owed to you.
If I could honestly give this company negative stars I would. The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had and I would not recommend them to anyone. On July 19th I called and canceled my policy because it had jumped up from $244 to $305 in less than a month. They state it’s because I do not use their right track app to track my driving. They assured me that no other payments would be taken out and everything was canceled. I checked my account this morning and Liberty Mutual had taken 500+ dollars out of my account. I immediately called and the first person kept talking over me and telling me my policy wasn’t canceled on the 19th and the person I spoke with scheduled it to be canceled on the 5th which is not what I wanted. I immediately requested a manager which I was then told there wasn’t one but we don’t play that game. So I kept repeating “I need a manager now” until he finally transferred me over. The next guy was even more disrespectful and basically told me “ sorry. There’s nothing we can do for you” I ended up calling corporate and corporate basically told me that they scheduled the cancellation on the 5th because they couldn’t knowingly let me not have insurance. That’s none of their business if I have insurance or not and I already had another policy set up with a different company. In the end I’m basically left with my bank account 500+ in the negative with a charge that I was unaware of and I did not authorize all because they simply do not know how to do their jobs correctly. This is a pathetic excuse for a car insurance company and even more pathetic excuse for customer service. They are thieves and they are greedy. They aren’t here to help you. They are simply here to take your money and charge you even more when you want to leave so you have no other option but to stay and pay their ridiculous rates that skyrocket every month for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Then they claim they sent an email confirming when they never did. It a sad and Pathetic excuse for a company and I don’t understand how they are still in business.
I wish I could give this company zero stars.I purchased an auto insurance policy for myself and my two sons in February 2021. A few weeks later, I learned that my sons were covered on their dads policy, so I called Liberty to have them removed from my policy. They said I needed to sign something saying they would not drive my car. I attempted to sign this document electronically multiple times, but due to their system errors, I was unable to.In April, this company, without my knowledge or authorization, added my sons back onto the policy and said that I need to pay their premiums in full from February to May 1. I told them that I removed them from the policy in February because they already had full coverage on their dads policy.Liberty has now sent me to collections for my sons premiums that should have never been charged in the first place. Theyre threatening to ruin my near-perfect credit score.I will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau.
They will scam you out every dime they can. I knew I was paid up to the date I switched insurance and there trying to say I didnt pay for the month up to the cancel date. So where the hell did my money go. I would avoid this company at all cost.
Avoid this insurance I had a truck catch fire in my shop which sucked so I figured my Liberty Mutual insurance would take care of it . Well not only did it take them along time to start the claim but I had to call several times before they even start it. Then when they finally totaled the customers truck they offered 10 k less than it was worth so I gave the customer a check for 10 thousand out of my own pocket to pay the difference. Please avoid these guys at all cost. If you want to check this case Malyna Tran was the adjuster and the claim number was 23925162.
I am a liberty mutual customer who may indeed have to change due to not only increase in policy but the incentive nature of commercials . The commercials as of late are in bad taste and tacky - as asking abused if they wish to eat meat of choice like chicken at a bbq/which is disgracing to meat eaters and animals . If my policy does not go down and formal apology is not made to patrons who do not eat animals - I will be moving g .
Ive had LM for 12 yrs now. My prior experiences with their auto claims have been reasonable... there was an issue, I went to a place they recommended, and it all went fine. Small claims related to the home (such as a stolen E-bikewere also relatively quick and painless to manage. Then I had some major home damage that required a large repair.... this is where LM tries to cut corners and it becomes very apparent that adjustors exist to serve the insurance company, not the client. To be clear for those not already aware, your insurance AGENT can be great, but if you have a claim its the ADJUSTOR that youre actually working with. So it doesnt matter how "awesome" your agent is.... their job is to sell you a policy, so being "awesome" is irrelevant to how your insurance actually serves your needs. The adjustor is motivated to undervalue your claim and save the company money. Dont be fooled.Ryan Lemone at LM severely underestimated the cost of repairs for my home, then pushed me to use a company that has been an absolute nightmare to work with - Bull Matrix Restoration. I have never received an estimate for repairs from BMR, and right after I hired BMR Ryan Lemone increased the estimate by 50% to accommodate the cost concern raised by BMR. Ryan Lemone never worked with the company that I had original intended to hire to do my repairs to determine why their estimates were so grossly discordant.... turns out its because he didnt really understand the prior state of the kitchen (despite a 90-page document with photos of before and after the mitigation for the water damage).I tried going above Ryan Lemone to his supervisor, Travis Orr. Ive never had more patronizing conversations than the one with Travis, it was the equivalent of being told "there, there darling.. itll all work out." He said he would have Ryan follow-up on the question of lost rent. I wasnt honestly hopeful about that... it was easy to see LM denying this as it was a home I was moving out of and had never previously rented... but there was no follow-up. Not a word from Travis or Ryan. I called customer service and complained. They put me through to a Presidential service line. The guy there somehow got my phone number wrong... which is impressive considering its saved in my account and the automatic system at LM seems to be able to recognize my number when I call into LM. So he called someone else and left a message, then sent me an email about not being able to reach me. I emailed back and called him immediately and had no response. In short, no return phone call until I called customer service again to complain that two weeks in I had still not had any meaningful conversation with someone from the Presidential service. The theme that kept emerging was that the customer service people are very nice and validating, but have no power to really help with anything. And anyone else that seemingly has power (maybe?is pretty disinterested in helping. In truth, Im only here posting this review on Google because a woman recently contacted me after seeing the Yelp review of BMR. She told me that Ryan Lemone was trying to apply the same pressure to have her use BMR. He was throwing up road blocks preventing her from selecting a contractor of her choosing. Its a vague though threatening conversation - he insinuates that LM wont cover the full cost of repairs if you use a different company, though he wont ever give concrete reasons for why the estimated costs are so discordant. He then says that BMR will "work off his estimate," an incredibly manipulative statement considering you then cannot get BMR to give you a formal estimate of their own. It leaves me wondering whether Ryan Lemone is getting a kick-back from BMR for his forced referral pattern. A complaint has been filed against this guy and LM with the Utah Insurance Department.
Customer service seems great on the phone, but boy, they dont follow through and do anything they say they will, and they have a total lack of important communication.I called to add my wife to my policy and used those exact words. They added her, but it wasnt until I was calling for something much later when someone said "oh, you got married? You get a discount!" One I should have had for a year.Later, we added roadside assistance to each of our cars. What they didnt tell us at the time was only one car can get the towing if needed... Well, a car needed a tow, but it wasnt the one they randomly selected, so we had to pay in full for the tow.I tried to remove a driver from my policy, and they happily obliged (website said I needed to call for some reason). A couple weeks later, we got a form in the mail for the removed driver to sign because they were classified as a restricted driver (I learned later that a restricted driver, according to Liberty Mutual, is someone on a learners permin; no idea how they decided that one). So, I got the former driver to sign and sent the form back.My policy went down in price accordingly for one month. Then the driver was back at a higher rate?! We called back, and they told us they never got the signed form, so the driver was automatically re-added. That support rep took them off again.Called back a few days later to talk about it and request a refund for something that we knew nothing about to begin with (restricted driver formbut tried to resolve anyway (sending form in), and the support rep said they told us about the form, what a restricted driver was, and that the driver would be re-added if we didnt send in the form. We were NOT told any of that. Eventually, the support rep said theyd send me to their escalation team (in my job of phone training and support, its not good to tell a customer they are working with an escalation team to calm them down). After being on hold for about 15 min., the hold message said I was now waiting for roadside assistance? What? And another 15-20 min goes by, and it hangs up on me! So much hold time...Yeah, terrible company. Every interaction was basically an expensive lie.
We recently switched to Liberty Mutual from Nationwide as the price was a significant saving. I am unable to locate my Auto Insurance on the internet, I have been calling Liberty mutual for 3 days. Each time I call I wait on hold for 35 minutes and it hangs up at 35 minutes. I attempted to contact someone on the website chat, after 20 minutes with no response it auto logged me out of the system for "no activity". This is something I think they should work on to make a great company.
BEWARE!!! Liberty Mutual outsources ALL of their claims to third parties! This is a giant hassle when trying to file a claim. Also, they refuse to pay even after approval. I have filed the same claim 3 times and it has been approved for payment twice. However, I have still not been reimbursed and dont expect to be. ANOTHER ISSUE is that the deductible on my claim changed without my authorization and Liberty Mutual refuses to adjust it to what it originally was despite me having the original policy as proof! ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE QUESTIONABLE PRACTICES, BUT LIBERTY MUTUAL IS AMONG THE WORST!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! IF AND WHEN YOU DO HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM YOU WILL BE ABANDONED AND LEFT RESPONSIBLE. I have canceled my policy and actually got a lower premium with greater coverage elsewhere and would suggest the same to any existing customer.
Glad to see that I am not the only one to realize and see how terrible this company is. It has literally been 3 months with little to no word from them, my claim adjuster will not return my calls, email or any other form of communication. Ted Xavier literally the worst claims adjuster I could ever possibly imagine. This company really needs to get their act together. After all this is said and done, I am definitely planning on Switching do it different Insurance Company.
Horrible. My mom was recommended safeco( part of liberty mutualand they have been nothing but difficult. They give you a price and then they up it every month with no explanation! They just recently said they havent received any payments at all saying I need to reinstate it but it will be 708$! My bank account clearly shows I have made payments every single month. Straight trash. Do not waste your time or money please.
Someone gave liberty mutual my number instead of their own. On day one I received seven calls telling each agent to take me off the list, this is not Franks number. With an additional call today, I called the national line who informed me it is 7 to 10 days for the do not call to update completely.Thats a joke.
My home renters insurance is a great price. I had auto insurance but dropped it because for being over the age of 60 my rates were extremely high I thought. Went to another insurance company and pay $30.00 less. They need to consider lowering there rates to Seniors❗
Great Experience. I was in a situation where I had a lot of damage to my vehicle, and I didnt think that it would be covered in my specific situation. Long story short Liberty Mutual really stepped up (and I dont think they had to), and took care of everything. Teneesha, was super understanding and helpful, I felt that she was on my side. Thank You Liberty Mutual!
Absolute zero care for members. Care only about the payments coming in and then do everything possible to avoid coverage no matter how loyal their customers have been. I was hit by a car while riding my motor scooter, the police report stated that the driver of the car was at fault and all I got from liberty mutual was excuse after excuse of why they weren’t required to help. On top of all this, I have since looked into other auto insurance companies and have found that I was paying nearly double for the same coverage offered elsewhere. I have 0 respect for liberty mutual and anyone affiliated with them.
tried to cancel my account, they didnt let me, and charged me extra for trying. plus the 10 additional dollars theyve charged me every month since i signed up 6 months ago. its bs. and you cant escape, free yourself from the burden that is this place.. be smart and dont fall into the trap
got business insurance and not long after getting the insurance they did a audit that cost over $2000.00 that they add to your bill when they are done doing it and the rates will also go up after that. Bad company to do business with they will charge you more after you sign up stay away if you want to keep your money. bad business practice.
Their ability to communicate with their customers is nonexistent. My car that was damaged is part of a large fleet of company vehicles and we are paying liberty mutual to cover all of them. I dont feel like the company values their large customers. I cant imagine what it must feel like to work with them for privately owned vehicles.
Been a customer for years. Rear ended, not our fault. Liberty was hardly willing to help. The adjuster Steven was awesome. Was supposed to get a call back from Desiree Brown who is the total loss person to go over the numbers that value my car extremely low. I’ve been calling for a week straight. She finally calls and disconnects on me twice without giving me a call back. Now I’m sitting here waiting again. Whenever I call customer support all they offer is her name and number. We’ll see what happens. Supposed to renew january. Going to look elsewhere. Now I have a baby due in May, was rear ended and not my fault with them saying my car is worth $2200 less than what I’d actually being sold.DO NOT GET LIBERTY MUTUAL.After waiting an additional week, the claims rep has not answered any of my questions. This has caused so much stress in my life. They know my wife is pregnant and has been to the E R. On Christmas because of the accident, I end up spending my whole break dealing with this when they re MY INSURANCE. I’ll spare more paragraphs..DO NOT PURCHASE LIBERTY MUTUAL FOR AUTO INSURANCE.
Atrocious company. Deceptive. Unhelpful. Just switched to another insurance company today. The switch will save me nearly $10,000 a year. New company couldn’t believe what Liberty was charging us for less coverage. Plus, they have dropped the ball on several issues for us over the years. Be careful with this dishonest shyster company. They are evil.
LIBERTY MUTUAL (2 stars). I was told that 1 "agent" would be "my agent," it’s actually a call center where you get whatever "agent" is available.Emails take at least a day for one back & forth, & you will get a different "agent" each time. Theres no personalization (ex., called "Ms Last Name" instead of by first name as requested, because I hate the term Ms).I truly hope Ill never have to use my car insurance as I fear what that experience will be like.To update your address, you need your vehicles mileage. I changed my address on the terribly designed My Account website within 10 days of moving. Looking now, it only changed the address on 1 of my vehicles. Trying to change the policy address on my house after moving in? The questions of why you moved are unclear (questions refer to apartment I moved out of? or the house I moved into?).Liberty Mutual desperately needs to invest in some User Experience upgrades. If their service gets much worse, Ill switch back to my old provider because $100 more a year is worth it for better customer service.RIGHT TRACK PROGRAM (1 star): Erroneous Algorithms Ding you for Safe Driving (Jan-Mar 2019)Participating gets you 10% off, but dont expect any more if youre a safe driver. They will send multiple emails threatening fees if you dont return the Right Track device, but then fail to send a return box. When they finally gave me a prepaid label, they still sent me the same threatening emails 2 days after they had received the device! While each time they said to ignore the email, I wont be charged-- Why should I even receive emails Im supposed to ignore?Emails: You get a different person every single time in the same back & forth email thread. They dont read the previous emails, so you get repetitive information & they ignore the same questions. Also get an uninformative wall "we dont share company algorithms"- Im not asking for the algorithms, but Id like to know how my driving is being evaluated & what factors are being controlled for (road design, traffic patterns, geography). How Youre RatedSeem to adjust slightly for acceleration events based on the speed limit of the road (I tested it a couple times & got dinged). Acceleration to get on a freeway is acceptable, but not that same acceleration to get up to speed on a 45 mph road. They assume that any hard brakings solution is to "leave more room to the person in front of you." Nearly all my driving leaves huge spaces to cars in front so I can coast rather than brake to a stop, but I always try to stop for yellow --> red light transitions & promptly get dinged for those firm braking events.Their algorithm does not take in to account road design where stoplights might change suddenly. Ive ridden with friends who run the yellow-->red lights just so they wont be dinged. Hows that for encouraging safe driving?Turning off a busy, higher speed road (35-45 mphto make a turn so you dont get rear-ended gets you dinged. Their algorithm doesnt account for slowing before turns (2 of my "hard braking" were for this reason, every single other one for yellow--> red light transitions). The weighting of these identified "negative" events is also inconsistent & incorrect. I had 25+ drives with multiple "perfect" stops & accelerations before I had 1 drive with only 1 "hard braking" due to a light change: that 1 event out of hundreds pulled my rebate down $10.They claim you can get 10-30% off, but I got 13.7% off & am a defensive driver. If someone has their own accelerometer / gps unit & wanted to vet the algorithms being used, Id love to see those results.Overall, if you already drive incredibly cautiously, slowly, & only a few miles a day on non-traffic light roads, you may get some money off, but the experience will probably leave a bad taste in your mouth as your driving gets "falsely" evaluated.Expertise: PhD, 7 years in Distracted Driving research.
Overpriced and deceptive. I selected Liberty because they were the cheapest and decently rated. I unfortunately had a small accident 4 years ago. After that accident, my rated jumped dramatically despite having the promise of first accident forgiveness. I got my renewal notice for over $1400, and when i called the company they just told me that other companies would be charging me more because of my accident. What happened to first accident forgiveness??? I will never use this company again.UPDATE: i just signed up for Progressive. Its $900 dollars less per year for better coverage! !!!
Liberty mutual is the scum of insurance companies. Ive had to call every month to adjust my rate back down to the price I was quoted. Today they raised it $60 so im going to have to call again today. This its getting ridiculous
Really great rate on a commercial liability policy. They provided additional coverages for free and doubled my coberage for a whole $4.00 more a month. The agent was very friendly and when I needed to make a small update, it was taken care of within a couple hours of making the request online.
I so far love the experience I have had with Liberty Mutual. I must confess though that it is a bit of a rebound relationship because I was fresh off of a bad break up with State Farm. That being said I highly recommend Liberty Mutual. They have taken good care of me. I havent ever made a claim with any insurance company so I cant give any insight into one company over the other in terms of the claims process but it seems pretty straightforward in the Liberty Mutual app. Also, Liberty Mutual has a bunch of discount options available to bring the rate pretty low. I am currently doing the Right Track program to get up to 20% off. I have an app on my phone and a little device on my windshield that tracks my acceleration and braking intensity as well as my total distance driven and scores me. Depending on my score which I assume will be perfect because I havent been dinged for anything yet under my usual driving style, I should get the full 20%.There is a picture of the little device they sent me. The tracking program is so easy and not intrusive. Ive been very pleased.
I wish I could give 0 stars but that is not a option. My wife’s car was reversed into and hit by one of liberty mutual’s clients. They left all their information and their liberty mutual policy number (luckily). Therefore, we called liberty mutual to file a claim. Liberty mutual said that they would call and contact their client to get their side of the story. Long story short they supposedly called, emailed, and sent mail to the client that had hit our car. They had never received a response or were able to get in contact with her. So, they said by law they have thirty days to reach and get ahold of this client before they make a decision. Me and my wife wait the thirty days calling multiple times through last month to hear of any updates but, they continually gave us the same response of they had not been able to get a hold of her. Finally, the thirty days is up and liberty mutual has failed to get in contact with their client who hit our car. We then call the adjuster to get the decision on when they will pay to get our car fixed. The adjuster then goes on to say that they are not going to claim responsibility for this hit and run accident because they have not been able to get in contact with their client and that the information from note we had scanned to send in could be found anywhere. Basically saying that we found this random information and are just trying to pin it on their client. I am outraged at this point we have waited almost 2 months now fix our car. This shows that liberty mutual’s claim department are nothing but crooks and will try to find any loop hole to not cover anything even when it’s their clients fault. The lady had left her first and last name, address, drivers license number, and her policy number in her own handwriting. Also, she has been ignoring all their “attempts” to get in touch with her regarding this accident which, screams that she is guilty of it. So I guess if you have liberty mutual insurance and you hit someone’s car just never answer their call and they have your back 👍🏼. Biggest joke of a insurance company.
Wow. I am blown away by the terrible quality of customer service with this company. I called to resolve a billing error. The first customer representative who helped me what’s friendly and seemed to be helpful, but ultimately did not follow through with what she said she was going to do. When I got a billing discrepancy later I called to resolve it, and they told me that there was nothing they can do, and what the precious representative told me she would do was not their policy and not in her call notes. I told him how displease I was that she told me she would do something that was not done. He just said “I’m sorry you feel that way, have a wonderful day”. I have cancelled my policy and will never do business with this company again.
Only giving one star as 0 was not an option. The company is great to work with until you need to file a claim. We filed the claim and the claims rep keeps saying that he is Trying to get a statement from the other party and he has to do so through their insurance company. After 7 weeks I reach out for an update and I am told he no longer does claims and to call the center for an update. I call the number he told me to call and get his voice mail. He has already told he cant help me. Keep in mind this is just the short story, We are not going to even go over his vacation and NO one covering and getting the run around. Just so sick of dealing with this. This is a simple fixed object fender bender. They turned into my son who was not moving. STAY AWAY!
I have had coverage with Liberty Mutual ever since 2013, and they have been the only auto-insurance company I have ever had. I even opted to get a home insurance policy with them when I purchased my condo in 2016, loyally telling everyone I knew about their fair pricing and good customer service. Even when my rates raised a little one year, I still stayed with them, figuring it was worth it to stay with the same company. Fast forward to 2019 and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone I know ever again, and I will actively talk people out of bothering with this company. I have 2 cars on my policy, and the policy on my home; in 2016 I had oneauto claim, and in 2017 I ended up with three; one of my cars had its drivers window busted in a parking lot, and the other had its windshield smashed by a rock on the freeway, then one car or another needed a tow. Not large, expensive claims, like a total loss or anything, but I suppose four claims is enough to break the finances of an entire nationwide company because they decided it was too risky to renew my auto policy for 2019. When speaking with their customer service, they provided no option to appeal the decision, or speak with someone empowered to do anything than sit there and do nothing. The initial customer service agent even decided to waste my time by transferred me to their escalated department so that the agent there could do the same level of nothing that the previous agent had done. I would have rather the first agent have just been up front with me rather than trying to pass me off to someone else who had 0 solutions to offer. Liberty Mutual decided in no uncertain terms that they would rather throw away my business and my loyalty based on their nebulous account review and statistics, rather than try to work with me and take into account that I have not made a single claim in over a year, the amount of time I have been insured with them, or basic customer service. Look out folks, if you have one bad year and are covered by Liberty Mutual, apparently the fact that you paid for their services means nada. Bye Liberty Mutual, you will not be missed.
If there was a rating for a zero I would give it. Honestly the worst insurance company ever. My rates continually went up even though I never had a claim in over 10 years. The. When I canceled then continued to charge me for an extra two months! Luckily State Farm called me and is saving me over $1,000 a year on home owners insurance and about $600 on car insurance
Terrible insurance company. Called to get a quote to determine whether or not to get a vehicle (if i can afford it). Got low reasonable quote. Bought the vehicle. Then i call to set up the right track program a month later and they tell me the person put in my information wrong and its more then double what i was quoted! Now instead of $1,300 for the year its $3,900! Absolutely terrible
Nice place to get insurance
When I totalled my car I went for three weeks without hearing from them. Called multiple times to try to find out what was going on and I would always get dumped into a voicemail box. No one would ever return my calls. They assigned me 3 different adjusters and I didnt hear from a single one of them. Called on a Friday in the morning and left a voicemail hoping Id be able to hear back before Monday since I was told I would hear back within 2-3 days the Monday before the Friday I called. Of course no return call. So when I called back Monday to try to get some answers it dumped me into the voicemail of my new adjuster who now had a different person on his voicemail saying he would be out until sometime in the next month. So I called back again trying to get answers and was told my adjuster was in fact in on the Friday I had called and just hadnt bothered to get ahold of me.Ive been without my car for just about a month now and havent heard a word from Liberty Mutual except when Ive made the effort to call them. And I still dont even have any answers. Even when I get through to someone they transfer me to someone else who doesnt pick up and just dumps me in a voicemail and never returns my calls.Very unsatisfactory. Very unprofessional. Will definitely be leaving them as soon as I get a settlement. Also getting my entire family to leave them as we all go through them for insurance. (Thats multiple cars, boats, and a house)I would recommend any other insurance company over these clowns.Edit review: turns out its liberty mutual not this branch in general. When I went in to this branch Dean Peters was very helpful to the best of his ability.
I was told my insurance would cost around $75 a month, but turns out it was $75 per pay check (which for me is twice a month). When I saw this on my contract I immediately emailed the woman who had signed me up, and told her I wanted to cancel. I never signed the contract. She never cancelled my contract, and my account was charged anyways. They did reimburse me, but didnt show much sympathy. Seemed like shady business to me. Wouldnt recommend.
Liberty Mutual is a an okay insurance company. Theyve always treated me well for 25 years with one exception. They advertise they wont raise your car insurance premiums if you have an accident. What they dont tell you is theyll raise your car insurance, home insurance and any other insurance you have every year by 10% or so whether you have an accident, claim or nothing at all.Ive never had a claim on my homeowners insurance, but every year it goes up. Then once every 5 years after I complain enough, they re-rate and it drops in price so they can start the 10% raises every year again. They do the same with the car insurance. Despite having no claims and two older cars every year, the rates go up 10%. Then after 5 years, and a dozen phone calls they re-rate and it drops by 35% to 40%.This game of raising premiums every year and then re-rating is tiring and boring.
