Quick, easy and reasonably priced. Nice people.
We needed a form notarized. The fee was very reasonable. ($8This place can get busy at times. Be prepared to wait. The staff is really helpful and tries their best to help. Sometimes they cant and that is because of PennDOT.
Had an odd situation with importing a vehicle from Brazil. Brazil terminates paper titles during the export process. They went to all digital titling in 2017. So all I had was a bill of sale, and us customs paperwork. I explained the situation to Commonwealth and they gave me a us border protection agents info to have my paperwork stamped. I drove up to Allentown airport to have everything stamped. Went back to commonwealth and was reassured everything looked good and took my money.4 weeks later I received a call that my paperwork was rejected for no paper title accompanying my file. I explained I voiced that concerns was reassured I had everything I needed. And of course Commonwealth admitted no fault and would not return my money. Incompetent organization, tell all your friends
Im no longer going there Ill go to gibbons my dad passed in September my mom gave me his car they told me I need my sister to sign a form but per gibbons and state law I dont ugh they make it so complicated ugh
My experience was great the lady’s where very professional to me and my husband we had no problems. They answered all our questions and we were satisfied.
Great experience… it was sherliane’s first day on the job and she did an amazing job…
Very nice people that was very understanding and handled me very professionally and quick !
Lisa did an amazing job helping me today!
I am not sure why people leave such negative reviews for this place. I have been using this location for the past 2 years doing everything from title transfers, to registering cars, to simple messenger services like sending my plates back to penndot. They have been helpful and resourceful the whole time and I havent had any issues what so ever!
Older lady with long blonde hair was so unprofessional and rude. While waiting in line I witnessed her mumble an insult about 2 other customers she had waited on.
Terrible, unprofessional. Please hire people who know the MVA codes, retired teachers should not be training new hires. I wont return, judging by your recent reviews Im not alone by a long shot.
Had a great experience here. I just moved to PA and transferred my title and was able to get PA tags and registration. The ladies that work here were very helpful and professional throughout the whole process. They were able to answer all of my questions and handled everything smoothly.
I wish I read the reviews. I will never use again. If you need a tag for your car do not go here. They do not know what they are doing. Flat out lied to me. Said it would go to Harrisburg that day. Harrisburg said they received it 4 days later and its a weekly service. They do not have an expedited service. And screwed up my paperwork
I went to them to get an Ez-Pass and not only is their “service charge” higher than Giant, at $7.00, they wanted to charge me .20c for using a credit card.
Honestly. Some of the rudest people Ive ever encountered. I would drive further to a different place just to avoid giving them any of my money. I can not stress enough how rude they were on both occasions I went in there, completely unhelpful and unknoweldable in the field in which they work.
The old lady with red hair and glasses does not need to be doing customer service. She was terrible, and all I was trying to do was get a duplicate registration. Just read through the reviews and you will see more about her. Ignore the five star reviews. Its probably somebodys friend or girlfriend. Anyways she said that she couldnt help me, but I went online and did it myself anyway. A machine was smarter than this place
No help they look for reasons not to do their job I’ve been to three “commonwealth auto tag” places and all the same . Unhappy unhelpful and lacking in knowledge of the info they need to do transfers and registrations I can’t stress enough look for another place to go
Kris was amazing!! Went in for a title change which I thought would be way more stressful than it was but Kris worked quickly and efficiently and made my day! Definitely will go back for all my license/registration needs.
Very efficient and fast service. Saturday mornings are busy but always professional service!!
This is in response to Cliff Veit review;I go into commonwealth on a regular basis, never have any issues, the ladies that work there are always willing to help and proffessional. And it is beneficial that they have multiple offices, certain situations require assistance and clarification. Transferring an out of state title to PA... they don’t just make up rules, it’s penn dots rules. People should not waste their time giving bad reviews when they do not know all that is involved.
Moving from Kansas to Pennsylvania I have to say transferring an out of state truck title is a joke here. Not only do I have to have a mechanic fill out a piece of paper stating the gross weight of the truck (says right on the titlewhich is money out of my pocket but I also have to go get the truck weighed which is more money out of pocket. I have now been to this office five times and every time I go in they find another “issue”. None the less each time they have to “call someone” to ask questions. They also love saying “Well I’m not going to do it”. Very unprofessional and absolutely no customer service skills.......Edit- now eight times and still no tags. It didn’t help that the lady gave me the wrong paperwork only to get to my mechanic and have to turn around and go back.
Do not do business here . They are horrible . Worst customer service. Worst prices. Most uneducated associates and unnecessary hoops to jump for simple title transfers. The owner should be ashamed of themselves for following whatever business plan they have and hiring the bottom of the barrel.
They didnt fill out my address right in the computer and never double checked so I had to carry around a DL with an incorrect address until a slip came in the mail for me to go and get it corrected. Then I called a couple weeks later to ask a couple questions and the lady was short, and extremely unhelpful. I still don’t have my license. Now they’re saying I need to go to Norristown. What good is having a place close by if they can’t get it right the first time, but even then, fix the problem they themselves created.
Everyone who works here is very helpful. Ive been going for a few years and they always do their best to get everything done as quickly and effectively as possible. Much easier than going to the DMV for most things.
The thing that grinds my gears with the state is that whether you were walking into an auto tags place like this or you’re calling PennDOT directly they always talk to you as if you have just as much knowledge as they do and you understand everything that the state requires. And when you do ask for an exclamation they give you an attitude they turn their head to the side and look at you as if you have two heads because you don’t understand gibberish that they’re talking. Especially the older woman with the red hair and glasses at this location. If you don’t like your job or you’re not good with customer service please find a new one .
As another unhappy customer shared (2 hours prior to this post), the older woman with red hair and glasses is extremely rude. She misinterpreted a form and did nothing but act like we were incompetent (mind you, we fill out this particularly form annually and have never before had an issue). Not only were her remarks short and rude, but as we stood across the counter she proceeded to share with another employee how she tried to explain to us that we were wrong but we “just aren’t getting it.” We will most definitely NOT be returning to this location and we will be sharing our poor experiences with others in the area so they too avoid this poor service.
I wouldve liked to be advised about the credit card money holding policies. I payed an amount of $99, thats the amount Im expecting to invest. Well, trying to pay more bills that weekend was inconvinienced by an extra $99 holding, for a total of $198. The service was good, but I wouldve drove to the nearest ATM if I knew about the card holding amount. I did ask for debit, when ignored, I assumed it was going as a credit card transaction but charged as debit. (Like other businesses). If I wouldve been advised, I wouldve paid in cash.
NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE BUT I HAVE SEE SEVERAL PEOPLE WALK THROUGH THE DOOR WITH BAD ATTITUDES AND EXPECT THE STAFF TO BEND THE RULES IN WHICH THEY DID NOT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Went in to renew my registration and was in and out in no time. The woman who helped me was Greta and she was very nice and extremely helpful.
I had a very positive and respectful person waiting on me Kara Theresa she was very helpful and very knowledgeable.im so glad i went to this location
Came in after loosing my vehicle ID card and was overwhelmed with how helpful Kara was.Would recommend visiting this location.
Got all the necessary paperwork done and was done by Tina. She was amazing! Service is great!! I always come here when I need things done the right way!
I went in on Saturday morning 1/6 to do an out of state title transfer. When my father and I arrived we were welcomed with a warm smile and a very cheerful “good morning! How can I help you today?” Kara was so polite and made us feel very welcomed! I will definitely be back!
Kara and Tina helped me get my registration completed quickly and easily. I definitely recommend them. Hours are great too!!!
Tina was awesome! After dealing with all the insurance nonsense from a car accident, it was so great for something to just be easy. Tina was so kind and very professional.
Omgosh I was having such a problem and was so confused about what to do. I came to the Auto Tags on High Street and they explained everything to me! I sent my title right there and they called me the day it came in. It was quick and easy and the two times I went in, it was not busy and Moriah was super helpful. Not sure how much the price difference between here and the Norristown Center but it is definitely worth it! Recommend this completely.
Customer service was very rude and short with my wife because they claimed she didnt have correct paperwork. When my wife asked for assistance the desk worker ignored her and proceeded to grab food from back room and began eating. My wife then asked for a manager who then treated her with same rudeness. Took our business down to performance auto tags who helped us without an issue and even stayed after hours to complete our transaction.
I was in a hurry and from out of the area...Needed a quick license renewal. The ladies were very kind, and I was literally in and out about 15min flat..thanks ladies...you were awesome...
Fast & Friendly photo! Ladies were kind & personable. From the time I got my number to walking out the door with my new license in hand...20 minutes max! Well done!
Customer service is amazing here. The customer service representative worked on my behalf for most of her day in between helping other customers to straighten out an error that PennDot had made in my records. She went above and beyond to get it straightened out.
Worst experience I ever had. The people working there are unprofessional and disrespectful to customers. I am never going back there again, if one of my friends want a tag service place I will never refer this place to them . No one wants to be treated how they treat customers.
I agree with everyone who posted that the people here are so rude. I was overcharged for a service and told the wrong information. When I called to Inquire, I was promised a call back which I did not get. When I called the next day, before the conversation even started I sensed an attitude. GRETTA was her name. She accused me of misunderstanding the original women. Im not an idiot. I know what she said. And she gave me the wrong information. Refused to refund me for being overcharged. Said she couldnt find me in the system......yet they sent me something in the mail- how does that make any sense? The angrier I got, the ruder she got, which made me angrier. Finally, Gretta says "I cant help you" and that was that. Not, let me find someone who CAN help you. Just "I cant help you" and that was the end of our conversation. When I asked for the manager, she conveniently was not in. At this point, I was livid by the disrespect I was receiving as a customer. So I told her to have her manager call me, actually I told her that her manager NEEDS to call me. Gretta LAUGHED AT me and hung up the phone. A customer service rep hanging up on the customer? That doesnt sound right. So after taking some time to process how poorly I was being treated, I decided to call back because my questions were not answered. I was calm, and asked for Gretta. I told her that I would like to have a mature conversation as adults. She LAUGHED at me AGAIN. I suggested she treat me, the CUSTOMER, with respect. And she hung up on me. AGAIN. Lovely customer service. Happy Holidays! I guess the Grinch really does come out around Christmas time.
I went to Commonwealth Auto Tags in Pottstown on the afternoon of 3/6/16 to get a new photo for my drivers lisc. renewal. I was truly impressed with the job performed by the person there. Unfortunately, I dont know her name, but she had short hair, wore glasses and was African-American. When I walked into the room, it was packed with other people also there for their photos. She had a smile for each one, was very friendly and good spirited, and even took care quickly of a couple of glitches in the camera setup. I was truly impressed by her ability, her good spirits and her kindness. Ive never met a DMV employee who handled her job quite so well. Thank you.
People here are always helpful. Best auto tags place and dmv I have ever been to.
Just sold my minivan and they did the title transfer. Ive transferred titles on multiple cars, quads and motorcycles there with no problems at all. Women who work there are very fast and knowledgeable. Theyll make copies of all paperwork for you to keep at no cost. I think people are confusing them with the Motor Vehicle Photo Place around the back. I have no reason to BS you. Take care.Update:I sold my other vehicle, Honda Pilot, on 6/27/2015 and they did the title transfer for this vehicle as well. Excellent service once again. They even waived a credit card fee for the buyer as she didnt have enough on her debit card. Good people doing a good job. No BS.
Went for transfer of a title, plates, registration.. what a nightmare. Shut me down right away. Their loss of $219 for a TRUCK. They wanted the truck towed into their tiny parking lot.. why make a simple task so difficult? I highly recommend Gibbons Fasttag for all your needs!
Its busy on a Saturday. But they dont drag their feet, and they are friendly. Nice experience for PennDOT.
TERRIBLE! They were ignorant the first time we were there, over a few days expired license while doing a title transfer. Ok, no problem, we will come back. When we came back, all of the women, but one, were completely rude and disgruntled. TWO HUNDRED dollars to transfer a title, in which they never transferred the TAGS!!! Why would I transfer a title and not the tags that are ALREADY ON THE CAR?! When I called, they told me they could not divulge this information over the phone, I needed to come in with proper ID. REALLY?! I called PENN DOT for the same information, and with a few security questions, got the information I needed. I am not one to go out of my way to give a horrible review, but this place was awful, caused me 2 hours of phone calls, were rude and sarcastic, and it is some of the worst customer service Ive experience in my life. DO NOT GO HERE!
WORST auto tag place EVER!!! I went twice. to fax several pages to my utilities. they gave confirmation that fax went thru. (it never didwhen I called a week later, my place never received the fax. when I called to complain and wanted my money back, since I took care of the issue by mail after the fact. I was told they cant do that. nor culd they indulge the information of the owner. not to mention I went at 12 noon when everyone else goes to take care of business on a lunch break. only one person was working and I think if she wuld have an ounce of professionalizm it may have cause her a stroke. the woman on the phone was sacrcastic and pleasantly unhelpful, to say the least. this place shuldnt even be open for open for business. DONT take ur busness there!!! ..and if there was a different box to check lower then "poor-fair" I wuld have marked that instead. there shuld be a box check for shittiest business ever
This business (Commonwealth Auto tagsin Pottstown, Pa. used to be a good place for notaries, etc.It cost me $95 just to transfer a moped title. When i questioned the rude, unhappy woman behind the desk, she would not explain to me why it was so expensive. So when i got home i called a few other places around me, im in Gilbertsville.Well, of course Commonwealth was more than $25 more than everyone else!!Do not go to this place for notary service or anything for that matter! They will rob you and not tell you why or how if you ask!!The lady behind the desk had reddish, brown hair and probably in her early 60s was very unpleasant.DO NOT go here, use the gas to drive somewhere else, there are alot around that area!! I know i will never make that mistake again!!They also charge you 2% extra if you use your credit card, this is ABSURD!!I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!! and if your smart you wont either!
