Pediatric psychiatrist Dr. Raj is great and has helped my son get on an effective medication treatment. Sharica is a great social worker. Front desk staff is friendly.

MHMR really saved my life. When I came to them, I was fin a crucifying game in my mind and in person. It was too much to carry until they prescribed me Chlorpromazine and Abilify. That gave me a chance to fight back. They listened, they prescribed, they supported. Also, they have an insanely efficient process to funneling you to the person who can help. Psychiatry is like a stew but Deepika has managed to quell my mind so I can design my own video games. MHMR just wants you to faith in your treatment, so they can treat you effectively. I did and they did, and here we are now: Paying it forward.

This long overdue as I have been reluctant to openly state my mental health needs. Reading the reviews I knew it was time to share my MHMR experience--they literally saved my life. Two and a half years ago, MHMR came into my life when I was at my lowest point and in the ER. They advocated for me from the very moment they met me.Im uncertain who called MHMR because the hospital had their own counselor talk to me. I spoke to MHMR first and was complacent towards them, even lying to them about my circumstance. The MHMR ladies who came to the hospital that night stayed with me, talking to the doctors, myself, talking to my family and working out a care plan for me.The hospital counselor was wheeled in by way of an iPad on what seemed to be one of those IV poles, its not likely that it was. A teleheath meeting was impersonal.Only spending a short time talking with me (maybe 15 - 20 minutes it felt like). Then came the verdict, she decided I would spend time at an inpatient hospital.MHMR felt I required LOC5, though not in-patient. I agreed with them. However, the ER doctor (who was not the original doctor I spoke with), had other plans for me. Telling me I had to go to the hospital volunterraly or be admitted by them involuntarraly and have no less than a two week stay.I went volunterraly. Meanwhile, MMHMR continued to work with my family for a care plan while I was at Seay (hospital in Planoand they were ready to stand by me when got out.I checked myself out within 24 hours. We called MHMR and they immediately stepped in and started my LOC5.From the ER, the hospital, therapy sessions, counselors and psychiatrist--they worked as a cohesive team to help me. They communicated with one another and I didnt have to repeat my situation, thoughts, etc when seeing the counselor or psychiatrist.MHMR diagnosed me, where others had not, nnorhad ever done a thurough evaluation. With my diagnosis, I received the proper therapy and medication. Two and a half years later, I am now 180° from where I was that night in the ER.I really dont know how they were contacted, but through the grace of God they walked into my life, I am so thankful. Especially the lady who came for MHMR.My counselors and psychiatrist were equally amazing. For the first time, I met complete strangers who genuinely cared about and invested their time in me. This was unfamiliar territory, though it was precisely what I needed.MHMR has a team who are paid a very low wage, yet they are there because of their passion to help people. Some may even be volunteers.MHMR, thank you for all you did and changing my life for better.

I would be dead if it were not for Denton County MHMR!! They put me through the program and helped me get out of the deep dark hole I was in. From them getting me into Mayhill and then in the residential program to counseling at Flower Mound Office, Hope program, peer counseling. Also under Dr. Becky’s care who has worked tirelessly in getting my meds correct and been there for me throughout this journey. Jan at front is great! There has not been one person I have been in contact with over the last 2 1/2 years that has not been wonderful to me. Thank you to all!!!!

How does a county mental health resource service of this magnitude only have two (thats right 2therapist, one gender, no hope of talking to anyone about anything for at least 2 years while on a waiting list. What if I am suicidal?! Maybe I just need to get some s.. t off my chest, and Id feel better.I dont do religion, but their answer to my therapist need is church. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?That and medication for diagnosises there is no medication for. Treat symptoms, treat symptoms, treat symptoms.... I havent taken medication in years (my choiceAve was prescribed three different medications all at the same time. How is this legal in this country? Its an outrage! My expression of that led to the response of the doctor and the case worker, both private conversations alone, if you dont want medication, what did you come here for?Once again, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?I went to them because I suffer (sometimes bad, sometimes worseof two very serious mood disorders, and occasionally anxiety based on my stability and reaction combining PTSD and current circumstances/situation. I want/need to know how to live life on lifes terms. My inability to communicate myself effectively to other people outside my personal boundaries will not be increased in value of, nor in quality by slowing my brain function down, or stopping it all together like some of those I see standing out front waiting for whatever with the glazed over stare into nothingness, completely unaware of life around them, while self soothing work a slow, side to side rock. NO THANKS!!Ill just stay home and keep working on identifying my feelings and communication with family until I figure out what I have to do to get some damn help around here. To achieve mental health and not accept deprivity with a dumb smile!

Everyone Ive met is nice and caring, Im really grateful for this place and I hate that Ill now be moving to the dallas county for help .... I hope theyre as caring and passionate as the people here. Because without their help and support I would not have the hope I currently have. Front desk is always nice, they always apologize for the wait even though it can get busy and that is to be expected. Emily my case manager was always understanding and helpful! Becky was also very helpful and good sense of humor. Sara who I went to a few times educated me about my diagnoses. So, thank you all for your time and kindness !Guadalupe Vr.

Ive seen a vast improvement here in the last three months. Treatment time has quickened and attitudes are much better. Remember to treat all these workers with the respect they deserve for this difficult job.
