Old fashioned decor with delicious doughnuts.We’re on a road trip and heard through the grapevine that this was a place to stop if we were coming through in the morning. We arrived right as the munchkins were coming out. They were still warm 🤤🤤🤤 My husband got a long John and unexpectedly, they fill it to order. (I suspect it keeps it fresher and fluffier for longer.)I have to say I was surprised with how delicious the cream in the doughnut was. It was milky and silky. It almost tastes like marshmallow fluff. We got six munchkins, the long John, the bear claw and a glazed donut for six dollars! 🤯This places is definitely worth the stop if you’re driving by!

We like to stop here for fresh, local donuts or a simple breakfast sandwhich. Fast, friendly service. Super fresh donuts made every day! My favorite is their pinecone donuts (pictured). Some indoor seating available.

So good! Apple fritters are amazing.

The staff was friendly and the Thai tea was good but there was MOLD on all of our donuts. When I confronted them they said it’s was “cinnamon”…..on a glazed donut. I wish it was just cinnamon I do not recommend nothing was fresh.

I was reluctant to try this place since I’m a diehard IGA bakery girl. My husband convinced me, and I’m so glad he did. The long Johns are HUGE, and they don’t skimp on the pudding. The donut holes were perfect 🤩 Highly recommend!

Found this donut shop on mpas and checked out the website which really doesnt have much going for it. But the background image pictured donuts crusted in oreos and other amazing looking versions on the classic glaze. I went on Saturday morning and as I entered I was immediatly unimpressed. I was arriving at 7:30am and the selections were all basic. Some glazed a few few jelly filled, glazed old fashined but no chocolate covered old fashioned. One option for cream filled and my wife says they doughnut part was extremely dry. Ordered a couple breaskfast burritos that were OK and tried what variety they had getting about 8 donuts. Out the door I was lighter to the tune of $18 which was a bit of a shocker, maybe the breakfast burritos were the balme. I was given some free donut holes in the box, which was very kind, but left there thinking I probably wont return. The donuts at IGA down th street put this place to shame. Sorry Daylight Donut, but from someone that has travelled this country and eaten amazing basic donuts from Randys in L.A. to the wildest concotions at Voodooo Donut in Portland, You have not done the donut world justice. Side note, the glaze donuts were pretty good, but not worth returning for.

Had a cake donut and regular coffee. By far the best coffee Ive had in weeks (been traveling), better coffee than any chain, in my experience. The cake donut was divine, perfectly cooked, not too sweet. This place should be famous. Effingham is very lucky to have Daylight Donuts!

Great service. Loved that the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant had a real egg in it! Loved my Thai tea, and the donuts were lovely!

Great donuts, a little sugary of course but good. Sadly I ordered a kolache and didnt get it 😕 but service was great and my boys enjoyed their biscuits and gravy. Id go back ^_^

My boyfriend and I were in a semi and the gentleman told us to walk on up to the drive through. He was nice, food was very good (I ate it too fast to think of taking a picture LOLand free donut holes. Yum! Thank you!

Y’all.... I went in there with my fiance and baby this morning to get some breakfast. We ordered, then he went to the kitchen to get our food. When he opened the door to the kitchen he had to step over a small gate. I’m thinking, “surely there isn’t a dog in this kitchen...” then sure enough WE HEAR A SMALL DOG BARKING IN THE KITCHEN!! We packed up the baby and walked right out the door before he even came back up front. Then once in the car THEY proceeded to stare at US like WE did something wrong. WHO LETS DOGS BE IN THE KITCHEN OF AT DONUT SHOP???

Hi guys!! Norma Lou, I don’t know you will see my reply or not but I’m sorry for this morning but We don’t have a pet in my shop! I have my 2 years old little boy who plays around in the back!! The sound, you heard is my boy! We switch the saler because my boy cried, so I let my husband take care you both. We made a gate because he always run to the front!! You guys just didn’t ask us and went out without telling me why!! Yeah, I stare at you because I really wonder if I did something wrong to my customer!

Their food is very delicious. They are more than a typical doughnut diner. They have coffees, juices, breakfast sandwiches. Friendly staff, dine in or drive thru, & fairly priced. Color me sold 😍🙌

The donuts are awesome, they make the best Boston cream. However, if you come late you miss out. They make fresh donuts daily, but once they run out they dont make more for that day. Recommend going when they first open to get them fresh and to be able to get what you want.
