Denny's in Effingham County

Our server was a guy that I wished Id have gotten his name. I believe he was called in to work and was filling in and he was absolutely ON the service. He had us drinks before we could even ask for them. He brought extra napkins before we asked, condiments, before we asked, remembered all our food (it was a group of usand he wasnt annoying or interrupting us. He had a great attitude and we appreciated his kindness and service greatly! We hope he will be there when we come again!

Good dining experience. The food was really good and there was plenty of it and the service was great. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but still did a good job.

Cold sausage and hard biscuits. Good waitresses.

The gravy looked like cottage cheese was informed the morning made it before he left and they served it to me at approximately 5p.

The cook we had tonight work his hind end off to make sure food was right and out as quickly as he could. It was worth the wait. The staff was amazing!

Super friendly and efficient waitress. She made our experience there really nice. She even wore a pair of earrings that were in the image of bacon and eggs! Lov d how sweet she was to the seniors!

I usually stop here for lunch once a month on my way home from a job, but that will change next time. Today’s lunch, all American slam, came out in record time of about 3 or 4 minutes. How do you cook eggs, bacon and hash browns That fast? Well I will tell you.You give the customer pre cooked barely warm bacon and you warm the potatoes with oil and butter, no “browns” at all. Just white oily shreds. I’m not one to send food back because I don’t wana get it back after they fix it plus the waitress could Clearly see the hash whites had no crispy at all. Double fault, I will go elsewhere next month.

Surprisingly great steaks at the midnight hour. Waitress was efficient and friendly.

Dennys has come a long way in my life. It used to pale behind IHOPE, but now the tables are completely turned. Dennys food is delicious and cheap for the portion sizes. Theyve put aside the "fast" quality. This is now a place to savor and take your time with the large portions. The fruit was fresh, with no "compote" - you know, chemical syrup that is an insult to calling something "fresh." We had bananas, strawberries, grapes, and blueberry pancakes - all of which had to be cut/made to order based on freshness. We also loved the hash browns. My daughter is picky! and Ive never, not once, seen her demolish her pancakes and hash browns like today at Dennys. Im not exaggerating.Ok, the bacon could be better - but it was certainly edible.Every sit down place charges a ridiculous amount for soda these days, so that can pad your bill. And for TLOG, tip your servers in America 20%. However, a to-go order is about equivalent in price to a pair of breakfast sandwiches at Mickey DsThis Dennys was also clean and cheerful with acceptable bathrooms.

We are from Tennessee and stopped here to eat on our way to Michigan. The food was absolutely delicious. We are thinking about stopping again l, to eat here, on our way back to Tennessee!!!

Terrific food and service especially since we went late at night.

My experience was I ordered an American Slam take out only to get home to see no eggs or sasuage. $14 plus dollars for burnt hash browns and soggy toast. I know Ill

Hubby and I stopped in Effingham for the night. Dennys was literally in the parking lot of our hotel so we decided to have dinner there. I ordered the bourbon street chicken skillet. Oh my!! It was soooo good! Everything tender and flavorful and melt in your moth good! Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his chicken fried steak as well. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive, our food came quickly and everything was great! Highly recommend!

Its a Dennys; once youve been to one, you know what to expect, and this one meets the same standards as the rest of the change, which is to say, pretty decent.The only thing is I wish theyd bring back the full pre-COVID menu, but thats the same at all Dennys.

Bring a coat and be prepared to wait. Food was good but it took an hour to get it and it wasnt busy.

Great Breakfast at Dinner, just as ordered. Loved that we had Sr. options at discount prices.

Hostess was RUDE about my service dogs who had their vests on. She demanded to see their papers which by ADA is illegal as long as they are up on their shots with visible tags and have an obvious service vest on and are in control at all times. I am a trainer I know the laws, I have to. Then it was almost 20 minutes before we got our drinks and still waiting when we decided to leave to order. There where other tables 30 minutes waiting still to order when we left. Will not go here ever again.

Ordered an appetizer with me an my familys 3 meals. Thank god it was slow because the appetizer came out with our three meals. I use to work at country pride. Shouldnt take 20 minutes when its slow for a burger and a American gran slam an 2 eggs and toast with pankcakes. Had to get my girlfriends drink at one point time waiting Almost ten minutes on the server. Then listening to my server brag to another server about how much she makes. This place must have just got done with a dinner rush or something. But if your going to work the job deal with the headaches and keep aspiring to give good service. You failed this time.

Waitress was friendly, didnt have enough staff to keep up (prom night). Wasnt impressed with food (cool/cold), hashbrowns & toast were over done, my friends fries were burnt, restaurant seemed dirty in some spots.

We got there at 148 am. So slow was the cooks. We finally got our food at 245 am. Finally on our way home which is Decatur at 254am. My husband didnt even get his food til the other 5 of us were almost done. Shame on you corporate for not having more employees.

Sad food and sad service tonight, over cooked or under cooked burgers, burnt patty melt and 1 single slice of avacado on my burger, oh and burnt fries. Servers where pleasant just not to attentive (it wasnt busy). Left a extra star because it was clean.

Hey try the little 6 oz. Sirloin steak. I ordered 2 of them cooked medium. With 4 scramble eggs. Omg I was shocked. This was so so so. Good. The eggs were real. It was like grandma fixed them. And the steaks were the BEST.!!!!! IVE EVER HAD. And I grew up in Kansas on a beef cattle farm. I showed registered cattle. In 4H. I was raised on farm beef. Ive ate a lot of steaks. That most people would have dreamed of having. And this place surprised me. I mean I literally cut these steaks with a butter knife 🔪. At a Dennys. Can you believe it. Well I dont BS. when it comes my steaks. Im vary particular. Plz try there steaks. You wont regret it. 🥩🥩🥩🥩💪

They was busy. A busboy had to seat us. Waitress was kinda forgetful but would apologize and was friendly towards everyone. Food was fresh and it has a good flavor.

Low quantity in food no any taste in that how is that look like u guys can see to much baked never come back

Friendly, clean and reasonable prices. Food was delicious. Only downside was the booth we sat at had a torn seat.

It was a great experience, and the coffee was amazing as well as the burger I got. The hashbrowns were a little burnt and crunchy but still enjoyable.

if i can give it zero stars i would.this was absolutely horrid. i had two others with me at this table. the waitress (Briannewas very lazy, rude, and was on her phone at the front counter when i had to track her down. i also shouldnt have to flag someone down for napkins or really anything. she never checked up on us.one of my friends order was dry, our appetizer was cold and undercooked. dont even get me started on my french toast if u can even call it that. my other friend ordered a cheeseburger, was told they forgot the order, then was handed the totally wrong order entirely.never again. change your ways and probably fire brianne.

Anyone who rates this place over 1 star is lying to themselves and all of the staff that work there.After ordering my cheeseburger, I had to wait over 30 minutes just for my food to be forgotten. The waitress brought out our cold sampler and all of my friends food, told me they forgot about my burger, only to bring out a completely different dish than what I ordered.The service our waitress (Brieanngave was poor to say the least, overall this whole experience was awful.Im thankful that they took the cheeseburger off the bill, now I just wish there was a way they could refund my time.

We had a great waitress. We havent been to a Dennys in over 25 years. My wife dont eat much and told the waitress what she wanted but didnt see it on the menu. Was told what she could order her and it worked out great. Both of the orders was good. The waitress is what made the experience great.

We went the day before Thanksgiving, and the day after. They messed up our order, and it didnt get fixed until after we were leaving. Day after, they were running out of rice, and really skipped, hoping for another order. Same order both times. Drastically different.Food tasted great, and both times we had wonderful waitresses.Kitchen score 2-3. Out front, easy 5

Horrible experience! The waitress that seated us asked how many. We said 5, she just took off without a word, and went around the corner and stood beside a table looking perturbed at us, like we should have automatically known we were supposed to follow her. We get to the table and start to sit down when I realized there was syrup covering the chair seat. It just kept going downhill from there. She took our order. I ordered sweet tea, I got unsweetened tea. My daughter ordered a chicken dish without mushrooms. The waitress even double checked no mushrooms. 45 minutes later, her plate came out with extra mushrooms. My order came cold. Like straight from the fridge cold. The eggs my grandkids ordered were like rubber. You couldnt hardly cut them. The pancakes were again, cold. The straw wrappers were filthy, almost like they had coffee spilled on them. Makes one wonder if they had been picked up from another table and reused. Not one time did anyone come check to see if everything was alright or to even see if we needed anything. Would not recommend this establishment!! If I could give less than one star I definitely would!!

My husband and I went in today for a late breakfast around 1:30/2. Our waiter was also our cook! He was great! It was the Best food we have ever received at this location. And we eat here At least once a week. He definitely went over and beyond! Not only cooking for us but waiting on our table.

The reason for the three stars which I seldom give out. The food tasted like I was licking a salt block. The staff though few were amazing. But I havent been to a Dennys in over 20 years and sadly I didnt miss a thing. Over priced, portions is like they were feeding a toddler. I cant say I will be in a hurry to go back.

I stopped at Dennys at the same place once a year on my way to Tennessee. Ive always had a very good experience and people are always polite sufficient and Dennys food is always good. This year things were a little slower took me longer to get my food even longer to pay my bill, but Im just taking that as a sign of the times and the fact that everyones having a hard time getting enough employees to work in fast food. So because of the lack of help they absolutely deserve five stars because its hard for two people to do the job before five people. Keep up the good work teamwork makes the dream work!

I went here last night for some late night grub. Our waitress was just complaining the whole time about how much she hated her job and then proceeded to bring me a plate of 4 over easy eggs, basically just a plate of aborted chicken slop. I did not order that. Waitress never came back. This place is nuts.

Waitress that seated me didn’t even ask if I needed anything to drink. A second waitress said they were out of coke. The food was cold. The waitress Brianne complained about her job in the restaurant area where all customers could hear her. She had a horrible attitude and was very unprofessional. Another customer, sitting in the next table from me, told waitress her food was cold and waitress said the cook must have overcooked her food and he could remake it for her or not charge her. Never given any napkins or even asked if I was okay, how the food tasted or if needed anything else. I had to walk up to the checkout to get my bill and pay, I expressed that my experience here was horrible. She asked why and when I told her my food was cold, she never once checked on me or even offered to check if I needed anything else or even ask me if I was ready for my bill. That waitress told me they were short staffed and if I wanted something that I should have asked. When asked for the manager a man came out without any name tag and was wearing street clothes Came out and did apologize. When I asked the name of the general manager and the district manager, they gave me a name of Maria, last name unknown to waitress. Hmmm??? Brianne also said to me you ate all of your food!!! Uh no I did not and took pics to prove so! I only ordered 1 biscuit and gravy (cold), bacon (cold), and hash browns (coldand tasteless! At that time, Brianne grabbed her name tag and was shaking at me and said if I had a problem with her, that was her name and I could tell her manager, of name she only gave me was Maria. This is the worst service at any restaurant I have ever dined!!! Do not recommend this Denny’s to anyone!

The food was undercooked. Not a single person came to ask if we needed anything. There was a waitress that did nothing but loudly complain about how much work she had to do, and how she wanted to go home. When I tried to get her attention for the check, she flat out ignored me. It took me flagging the busboy down to get him to ask her for the check. She then proceeded to tell him loudly that I would have to wait . Normally I give people the benefit of the doubt, but this girl repeatedly was loud and unprofessional.

There was nobody in the restaurant when we got there, maybe that was a clue! They didnt know how to make a waffle, and the waitress forgot part of my wifes order. Maybe they will get better?
