Shopping was good, they had everything I needed bu t the cashier acted like he was hung over it stayed up too late playing video games. He wasnt friendly or interactive and on the verge of being really rude. On the plus side, Ive been here many times and the majority cashiers are very friendly. This particular cashier must have been having a bad day but he shouldnt take it out on the customers.

Great store. Good prices. They have some hard to find items also. I wish it was cleaner but it is much better than most older grocery stores.

I am the castemur for the last 2 years , but the situation i got last time was really got me shame, i was pick a box of beer and when i get by the casher she ask me Id, she was right but unfortunately my physical id , i was return to DMV two days before to renewal, but i had the copy of my Id till the real one maild me, so u try to show her my copy lf my id and explained the situation, she didnt give a chance to speak and explained to her not only her but her supervisor, too.I am really disappointed and leave the stor to never ever visit the one on hillsdall and ross,I am really sorry for such personality and customer service manner, no idea how to hansle and take care situation try to understand even if the castemur not right. 08/05/2022.Ermyas

Groceries store has lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, plant based foods, organic food for family. Smart and Final carry the large selection of kitchen ware, food container for restaurants and business.

Mixed feelings about this store. Ads etc... Go there for certain things they always have. Dairy, cheese, eggs. Produce marginal. Store prices vary. Must be knowledgeable of prices. Still shop there for certain things sometimes they have decent sales.

store mgr(broken englishrefuses loads if he doesnt like the truckers letting him now protocol. WHICH means YOU the customer wont be able to buy the products u come in for. Manager needs to TOUGHEN up of he s gonna be dealing w truckers.Day b4 easter and this guy refuses a load. Good luck buying what u needEDIT...hr later my company calls to have me return so they can unload pallets. S&F corporate had to get involved. The LOAD is more important than a managers pride!!!!

West Gate Smart & Final seems bigger and cleaner than the Hillsdale S & F. Both stores have friendly staff that are helpful. Great place to get snacks and supplies for small party.

They have improved on quality of products. The fresh veggies are amazing. The checker gets an F" for his behavior and entitled attitude. Accused me of stealing a bottle of crystal geyser, which goes with me everywhere, and in my cart I had 3 35 pack cases. I was highly embarrassed by his attitude. If it were my son? I would have slapped him.

Good store. Seems smaller. Well stocked. Employees are helpful when asked.

Meat bought on 12/7 brought home and put in the freezer. I took it out today 12/8 to make for dinner. The smell was horrible. I called the store to tell them and to find out what steps to take to get refunded for the purchase. Per Roxanne bring it back with the receipt, I have to have the receipt and was it a sale item? When I told her I could not come today she said put in back in the freezer, also asked did I cook it? Then bring it WITH the receipt and we will credit the purchase.WHAT!!!Needless to say, Im done with Smart and Final this is the second time dealing with such a problem.It was more her attitude and shes talking to someone else as shes talking to me to show me she could care less about what I was saying

Smart & Final is kind of between a regular grocery store and a warehouse store. It is nice to have the choice of buying single serve or bulk, and their pricing is pretty competitive.

I always love coming to this particular Smart & Final. Since they closed down the location that was off Curtner, my family has been coming to this one. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The prices are always great. If you like going grocery shopping in a small town atmosphere....this the place.

This is a wonderful atmosphere and values galore! Not pretentious nor fussy displays...just nice folks serving my needs, week after week with limited inventory choices. No butcher counter, but lots of fresh meats.

Super convenient location. There is never a long wait to check out. I only wish they had a better meat selection.

Theyve improved their selections since I was there last (before the pandemic). I was pleased they had everything I was after (except arrowroot). Further they had only one line to wait for checkout so things were COVID friendly and the line went fast.

I was not impressed with the prices they were the same as any super market. The Smart and Final on El Camino in Mountain View has better prices and clearance items.

Even though this store is a bit older than my regular neighborhood Smart & Final, it is more spacious with with the same selection of goods. Like my neighborhood store this one has the same friendly and accommodating staff. Check out their weekly flyers and price reduced meat selections for greater cost savings.

Great store. Just wish they had more checkers to check people out. It always takes forever even if there are two people in front of you.

I love Smart & Final.Ive been shopping at my local store for years, they have most of what I need, and at great prices.At my local store they have $5 sushi to compete with Safeways 5$ Fridays, which is not to be missed!!!I love their freshly made spicy sushi, & California rolls!

I think the people are the best here, so friendly and helpful. One of their managers, Janelle, is terrific. She works the check out and when they get busy she opens a register to help. Their prices are very competitive and their produce seems to be always fresh. Their own brand " First Street" is excellent also. Its worth you while to try it. JWD

Avoid! I contacted management about the employees not wearing masks and they assured me it would be addressed. Today I went in a month later and again the employees had masks around their necks or off their noses. I understand a mask is uncomfortable until you get used to it, but doctors, nurses, and many others are able to manage. I wear an N95 during fire season and its much worse than cloth. As someone who has already personally affected by COVID, I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. I will never return to this store.

I shop here once a week as it is my local store. It is a well managed and the staff are great! They have excellent produce and other goods.I don’t usually take time to write reviews, these kind folks have expertly navigated through stormy COVID-19 waters with great care. I’m grateful for them and all they do to take care of the neighborhood and my family.

Really well done for safely checking out. A nice touch to have Sanitizing spray and wipes out for the carts. Always lots of produce and a nice organic selection. Kind and helpful staff.

Had all the stuff I needed. The missing high rating is because two employees were not practicing social distancing at all. One in the produce aisle and another in the meat area walked too close about three feet of me. I was surprised to see many employees not wearing any face coverings. This is not only to protect customers but yourself be careful. I’ll have to shop someplace else from now on.

I like a lot the arrangement of the organic vegetables. It is all in one place well delimited and not mixed with something else. It is not a mess like a TJ where organic vegetables are mixed with the rest and spread out . Waste a lot of time at TJ going back and forth to find organic veggies. At Smart, I park my caddy in front of the organic section and I load up for the week in 3mn.

Been a long long time since I’ve been to this Smart and final. As I walked in I noticed that the store looks really nice inside “I didn’t remember it being so big” and has a wide selection of food and drink. I picked up two 3lb containers of Deviled egg potato salad “so good”, value pack of water bottles and a value pack of plastic cups.I was able to talk to 2 employees, both of them were nice. I’m definitely going to visit this store more often.

Friendly n knowledgeable employees, well stocked, huge selection, lower prices, faster checkout than most.-1 star (4-5 mid-aisle stack promo displays resulting in narrow aisles).

Consistently low prices and good quality, especially when it comes to meat, produce, and "off brand" dry goods. Theres nothing wrong with "off brand" stuff, its made in literally the same plant that processes the name brand. Its just as good and costs a fraction of the price. The First Street store brand is solid quality and great prices. Its just as good, if not better than Safeway and it costs half as much.The only thing to stay away from is the First Street brand sriracha sauce. That stuff is terrible. My one and only bad experience with the First Street brand. Huy Fong Foods sriracha or bust.

You may find something that not sold somewhere else. Parking lot is very small and crowded. They might want to compete with Safeway, but no way, no chance at all. Most of the customers for this shop are low income, and they should be loyal to them. The parking lot is actually very small.Saw homeless car in the parking lot all the time.

I enjoy Smart & Final on Hillsdale. In a smaller version, it could compete with Costco, but no membership required. Organic produce a big thing for me. Most things are super-sized for families. I think they can deliver to home. It has a homey environment, nice clerks, and people.

The lines are frequently awful and the manager often does not schedule enough help for the cashiers to process customer transactions effectively. The selection of products, however, is great and there is little to no trouble with items out of stock.

The go-to place for cleaning supplies, packaged bake goods, and Mexican staples. Produce cheap but uneven. Occasional fantastic meat specials. I always start my grocery shopping at S&F.

Somehow the express lane is always the slowest lane despite everyone in it having 10 items or less. To make it even slower they also decided to make the express lane one of the trainee lines. Love seeing 3 people with full carts get through the line next to me in the time it takes to get through a single person in the express lane. Great job there.

Good selection, this store is usually well stocked and friendly. Little slow to checkout at times as they can get too busy and dont seem to handle cashier schedules very well.

This is a Very clean and organized store. They layout is more like a supermarket, unlike the smart and final by my house which is like mini Costco with less choices and more bulk items. Great store, staff a little slow at the register but over great experiance.

I cannot believe the checker actually served the two people behind be in line rather than me. When I asked for the manager, she supported his actions. I have a hurt back and standing long enough to check out not only is very difficult for me, but it risks a huge setback. I explained this to the customers behind me who were two men with only one item each. MY TIME IS JUST AS VALUABLE AS THEIRS, and just because I was there getting food to feed my family I should not have had to wait for the men. I am sick and tired of this discrimination. I will NOT come back.

The store is well-stocked, clean and friendly.You can find groceries and dry goods for great and inexpensive prices.We find items that arent carried at Costco, which helps us round out our grocery runs. We typically go once or twice a month depending on our needs.

A great place to find the bulk size purchase you normally go to Costco for, without the crowds! They also carry lots of restaurant supplies which comes in handy when you have an event to plan for!

Good selection of food and veggies but dont expect to be able to get in and out quickly. Lines are usually long regardless of how many cashiers are open. If you need something quick better go to the Target across the street
