DeVito's Italian Deli & Sub in Sussex County

Got two subs there, one Italian and a tuna. Both werent horrible, but werent good either. Know they make their own bread, but it just didnt suit the subs, and was just too much of it. Wouldnt go back.

Excellent Italian sub. Much better than beach/tourist quality food. Good prices.

Honestly this is the best Deli and pizza place in the area. Gigantic fat hoagies, homemade rolls and quality ingredients. Skip Rosenfelds… they’re overpriced garbage. DeVitos is hands down the best in the area!!!

The pizza is amazing! Thin crust, great sauce, just the right amount of cheese and toppings! Simply delicious!

Loved the bread and the idea of my Nita sub but they epically failed and forgot the pesto so it was bland and dry.

I have been having Devito’s Sub’s for over 40 years and 3 generations…always consistent!! Recommend the tomato mozzarella: Italian: meatball and steak and cheese…anything on their homemade bread! Also their meatball dinner is great in the off season.

We ordered online and picked up. Very fast and efficient. The bread was extremely fresh and the fries were a great addition. Will be going back!

As accidents happen, we we’re giving the wrong order. The crew at DeVito’s immediately made up for it. We got the pizza we wanted and it was great. The white pizza we accidentally received was great too. Thank you for going out of your way to make it right. We will definitely be back!

Ordered 5 subs. They were priced too high for the little amount of meat and cheese on the subs. Tasted fine but not a place Id revisit.

Thought I would give it a try. Right away I was annoyed ordering online and being forced to pay a 20% tip. So I reduce my order to just pizza fries which ended up being $9.00. Totally disappointed! Fries were soggy and tasted bad. Skimpy on the serving size. I looked at the other food being served and it was also under stuffed. Not going back.

This place is by far the best place to get subs. The roll was the best part topped with a really great flavored oil. I asked for a special cheese sub with just American cheese and the veggies. My bf got a cheesesteak and he enjoyed his as well. This was our second time eating here and we will definitely be making this one of our places to stop when we come to OCMD. The pizza was good! The chicken tenders lacked flavor though. And the oldman at the counter was very grumpy lol

Homemade bread and pizza dough. Many subs to choose from, as well as extras. Service is fast and efficient. Favorite for locals. Christmas comes with homemade cookies to order. They do mail out cookies.

Mediocre!Food seemed like it was left out for awhile, especially the fries, cold and wet...It wasnt bad, just wasnt good. Quality was super low from the last time we went a year or two ago. The price is too high and the portions are too small for it to be worth it.Hopefully they will improve their quality, but for now, we will not be going back.

The owner was amazing. Got up early to make bread for an order I needed for my moms memorial service and everyone loved the subs and it was so reasonably priced. The Nitas vegetarian sandwich was the surprise hit of the event! THANKS DEVITOS!

My dad used to live in Ocean City and came to this place almost every day. He brings my family and I here every time we visit and it’s so good every time. I can tell he loves this deli and it brings him a lot of nostalgia.

We ordered here for lunch on our most recent trip. I had no idea what we were getting into. The price seemed high when I placed my order, but once I picked up my order and unwrapped those glorious subs. I knew why the bill was bit of a shock. They were worth every cent. The roll was delicious, house made and just amazing. I went with the meatball sub, and I must say the meatballs were top notch. Everyone enjoyed their respective subs.I highly recommend getting a sub from here.

Ordered five items they forgot one of them I had to go back and get it. Two sandwiches were incorrect Several ingredients left off each one. Waste of money you would think they’d be better with attention to detail based on the cost of their sandwiches!

Bread is fantastic. Sandwiches are not overloaded and the meat doesnt make you feel sluggish after eating it. Top notch ingredients.

Grabbed some subs for lunch at the beach and they were perfect. Bread is amazing and not too dense, meat and toppings were fresh and had that great italian flavor without dripping oil all over yourself. We will definitely be making this a yearly tradition.

The bread is hard and stale. I ordered the godfather which is a 1/4 pound of roast beef and ended up getting 2 slices of ham and the wrong cheese. My wife ordered cheese on her club and never got it. Worst place Ive ever had. Will never order from there again!

Sub rolls are the best around made daily. Been going there for 20 years Mike does a great job as always. Can’t go wrong with the steak and cheese or The Godfather. A must while at the beach. Best to call in order ahead of time they get busy for a good reason.

Was not impressed. Bread was not very good subs were extremely disappointing. Sundried tomatoes are sliced tomatoes. Cook was completely out his element. Will not return.

Great selection of subs, and excellent salads too. This place has quality lunch meat, great bread, and subs and sandwiches just the right size for enjoying in the beach.

Very picky about pizza considering we have our go to but being away from home this was delicious!! It is thin but crispy crust which was a welcomed difference. The taste of the sauce with the robust flavor was awesome! My child remarked about the extra cheese on the pizza and I never ordered anything extra! We would definitely order again! Im intrigued if their subs are as good!

Havent tried many hoagie/delis in ocean city, but i love toasted sandwiches and these are some of the best Ive had. High quality meat and fresh bread. Must try while in ocean city.

Another fav in Ocean City, MD. Im Italian and havent tasted a meatball that comes close to my grandmothers recipe until DeVitos. This is strictly carryout, no place to sit. The salads are made with field greens, fresh mozzarella cheese and you can add or delete items because they are made fresh.

I was greeted by both the owner and the waiting customers when entering for the first time. There was two men before me, one ordering for himself, the other for his work crew. That 2nd person struck up a conversation with me after I told the employee my order. Turns out the customer has been patronizing the business for over 30 years and the employee was the owner.It was a good start to the most positive rated sub shop in Ocean City. My first order was a Cold cut. I cant remember a better cold cut sub Ive ever ordered in my life!This place, after just one visit, will surely be an establishment where I check out the other interesting choices offered. I was told to try the Cheese steak, pizza, and a few other things by a fellow customer. I will surely be back, and that cold cut was better than any Jimmy Johns, fire house, Primo, etc.Decades in business, it deserves discovery in North O.C. for the uninitiated! It really is tasty and the best on the island!

My wife and I were in town for the weekend and looking up sub shops online this one popped up. Such wonderful staff, family-owned and so kind. They bake the bread right there and take their time to make a very nice, delicious, well-packed sub. Love the options between the hot and the cold Subs as well. We will definitely be back. Great family owned deli in North OC. Great quality and they make their own bread. My wife and I will split a sub and get their “Shooters” which are cherry peppers stuffed with prosciutto and a hard Italian cheese. Overall one of our favorites.

Can’t go to OC without stopping by DeVito’s. All ingredients down to the bread are great quality. Always spot locals there and the owner Mike gives great service. Best subs on coastal highway.

Five stars? Stop already. You people obviously have no concept of a great sub. $10 for a little better than average sub with a small quantity of meat??? You all need to get out of the area OR have never been to philly or Jersey for a real sub. If you have, then youd rate it two stars as I have.

My husband loved his meatball sub. My son got two subs because he could not make his mind up. He had the chicken parmesan sub and grilled turkey. Both were delicious and the leftover grilled turkey wad good the next day too. Unfortunately, I purchased the cheese steak and I was disappointed. It was not your typical greasy cheese steak. The bread was great, but the cheese steak itself, was just okay. My daughter received the roast beef sub and hers was great too, so it was just the cheesesteak sub that was not up to par. We order from here quite frequently when we stay at our place down in oc. We are rarely disappointed.

This is one of my go to places in OC! The Godmother is my favorite, however I have not had anything bad here. We will be down in September of this year and this is the first place I want to go to for lunch. We are coming from NY and we have pretty good sandwich shops. This tops them. Best bread around!

Great Subs, The entire family had a different Sub and everyone enjoyed them. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for a Sub. The price is also a good value for the area, as I spent almost the exact same at a Burger King for lunch a few days prior. Also happy to support a local family owned business with a good product and friendly staff.

There were so many choices! I settled on the special italian cold cut and it was delicious! Fresh bread, piled high with delicious meats, veggies, and cheeses. Made fresh in a friendly, welcoming, deli. Fast service, great food, would definitely go again.

Fresh baked bread that is perfect for hoagies. High quality meats. First time here got the Devitos Speck Italian. Amazing sandwiches. Will be back when we return to the beach.

I reach the beach 3-4 times a year. I have been going to Devitos for over 20 years. Best Italian Sub in Ocean City environs and that includes the Delaware beaches as well. See you all soon!

Im calling in an order right now, but thought Id take a moment to post a quick review.I frequent Fenwick Island in the warmer seasons, and DeVitos is my favorite sub shop. I invariably get the italian sub — high quality meats in perfect proportion nestled in fresh, fragrant bread. This is a multi-generational shop with friendly local operators who sincerely care about what they hand over the counter.
