Emergency treatment from Dr.Dorell.Got rid of my infection and fitted a temporary filling, providing me with antibiotics. Polite, helpful receptionTreatment was professional, swift (if you allow it to beand with care.Unfortunately, its just private. Only emergency NHS for pain relief.Would recommend, thanks for the help.Jordan.

If you are not their patient and get booked in there for an emergency appointment they basically do nothing for you. When you phone the Aneurin Bevan Health Board Dental Helpline ask them not to book you into this dentist, you will receive no care or service there. My 85 year old mother was sent there because she needed a tooth taken out and the side of her face was swollen. The "dentist" who checked her mouth for about 5 seconds just prescribed her some antibiotics and get this , told her to go see a dentist. Unreal. She was still in pain a week later and I phoned the emergency helpline and ask for them to send her to any dentist except this one. She was sent to a lovely dentist on Malpas road who treated her with care and they took her tooth out and prescribed more anti biotics to take the face swelling down, cant thank them enough. That is how a real professional dentist acts. Devon Place Dental Practice do not act like that, they just kick people out the door as fast as they can and get your money. Anyway, you have been warned, book to go somewhere else.

The dentist checked my mouth for 5 seconds and immediately prescribed an antibiotic. my teeth are very sore, the antibiotic wont fix holes in my teeth. terrible doctors and clinic. I have never had such a terrible experience.

The most terrible of all possible techniques. The doctor doesnt even have the opportunity to take an X-ray. Seriously?! The dental clinic does not have an X-ray?! All the doctor could do was prescribe an antibiotic. And he could not even determine which tooth was sick.

Really friendly and nice dentist. I see Dr Gordon and have been happy his skill and communication. Really impressed with the follow up- have had issues with the bridge but theyve been really accommodating with squeezing me in and providing an excellent service to resolve the issues at no extra cost. Very pleased.

Lovely dental practice. Im quite a nervous patient but Rachel has been great at settling any nerves before and after any procedure. The team are helpful and informative too. Highly recommend!

I came to the dentist this morning (first appointment thereand they were absolutely lovely! The staff were so friendly and reassuring. My dentist Jon Frankel was absolutely lovely - made me feel at ease straight away, felt like he actually cared and took the time to explain things to me and get to know me, so happy to be going to this dentist instead!

Absolutely shocking experience with this dental surgery. My 14 year old daughter went with some serious tooth pain, but because she was 10 minutes late for her appointment, due to traffic problems, they actually refused to see her, and then struck her off their patient list. Id rather put up with the pain than waste my time and money going there!!

I just came out of root canal treatment. It was a great feeling when someone was giving you an act procedure, you didnt feel it. Customer service was great too. thank you very much :)

Im a very anxious person who suffers with many mental health issues and I have to say my experience today was lovely. I felt I was really cared for and that they really understood my fears.I ended up having a tooth filled and one removed. I was told what they were doing and when etc. They really helped with my anxiety and tried their best to keep me calm. I cant thank them enough.Such a shame they dont take on NHS patients at the moment.

Recently had my teeth whitened here by Dr John Anderson. Absolutely amazing results! All the staff were so polite, friendly & professional. Can’t recommend enough!

Nice and friendly service, unfortunately I am left with the feeling that I’ve been overcharged. £57 to register, x-ray and general check up, which was fine. Was booked in for a periodontal appointment with the hygienist at £89, which honestly was no more of a deep clean than other visits I’ve had to a hygienist. Scale and polish would have been £56 apparently and seems much more suitable as my gums really were not that bad.This rang some alarm bells but I decided to go ahead with my filling appointment, it would have been a pretty large one, I checked ahead and it was going to be charged at £110, which was fine. However, after discussing the work with the dentist, we decided that it would be better if the old filling was repaired for now as there was only a small hole in it and there was a risk of causing further problems if it was messed with.This took ten minutes, with no anesthesia or drilling required. I went to pay and was quoted £110! I said that I had not had a full large filling done, so could this price be checked as it should surely be less. The girl went and checked, and came back with £95! I know that dental work isn’t cheap, but this seems very pricey to me.So yeah, it’s a shame because they are a really nice practice, but I do feel like I’ve been ripped off a little.

Over time I have been to a number of practices and have been seen by a number of dentists and I can honestly say that my experiences at Devon Place have been like no other. As soon as you step through the door you are made to feel welcome and comfortable by both the receptionist and dental nurses (both of which I haven’t previously felt when attending dentist appointments elsewhereand the warm welcome is always continued by my dentist Dr John Anderson. I am absolutely over the moon with my veneers and I am so grateful to John for enabling me to smile with confidence again.

When enquiring about tooth whitening the receptionist told me that I would need the tooth crowned. Didnt realised reception staff were so qualified these days!

Recently had a filling done here. What a very professional and nice place to be. The staff were very helpful and polite. I only had to wait 5 minutes for my appointment. After shopping around this was by far the cheapest place. But no expense was spared

Just dont go there !!!Just will lose your time and you will got more problem then you have before!!!!!The terrible doctor "Dorrel Gordon" and the nurse" Sammy Howarth" what never i see before. I went ther last Monday with emergency appointment because i got pain what hurt me so mutch and cant sleep al night...i am pregnent in 34 weeks,the time for my appointment was 13:45 but the call me to go inside 15:00 ...i went inside and i explain for the doctor the problem i have with the tiff and his answer was ""i dont know what i can do"" and i sayd you are the doctor just please do something because hurt..The doctor ask me if i want to take out the tiff and i says yes because i just wish the pain stop.And him take out the tiff in 2 minutes and him says everything is ok.I left and the pain and bleeding still ...all week after the pain became more bigger then before because Doctor DORREL GORDON left part of the tiff inside was caused big pain and a ugly infection😡I went back and the receptionist was the same nurse Sammy Howarth ,what she is pragnent like me,and i explain calm what is the problem and she without care she told me is nothing to do...i was so upset and i sayd i will make complain to NHS because this traatement for patient is not good and she answer me back "Thats fine**!!!Horibleee i left the surgery crying thinking how can be possible..!

Here that was all brushed aside, confidence rebuild and with the skill of the Dental practitioners you are always at ease. What a terrible dentist and the receptionist with the Scottish accent is a joke! I went to this dentist for emergency treatment 2 weeks ago and less thank a week after I finished my antibiotics my abscess came back and I was referred back to this dentist. My bus was running a bit late so I called and explained and was shot down in flames and told that it was tough I would have to re book my appointment. She showed no empathy and spoke to me like I was a child. Disgraceful. They should be ashamed. Money grabbers who care nothing of peoples welfare unless They are lining their pockets.!

Excellent, professional dentist from the all the staff. Always clean and tidy, parking can be difficult some times.

Well i attended this dentist this morning as an emergency appointment in absolute agony as a tooth had broken. My appointment lasted seconds, he filled the hole and sent me on my way, I have never experienced pain, like the pain i experienced after in my life. He had put filler right on an exposed nerve, had he scanned me he would have seen that. Absolutely shocking!! I had to have a real, professional dentist sort it out. Never again would I attend here!!!!

Not treating NHS

I have Anxiety and the dentist was quick at putting me to rest. I would say to anyone who doesnt like dentist to visit them for sure. Great price plans to for just £14.99 pm includes xrays and emergency cover and consultation that usually cost £48 alone.

My wife joined this practise about six years ago, and the family followed behind quickly. I never knew you could actually enjoy going to the dentist! Rachel and her team are always full of smiles and fun, yet manage to do a thoroughly professional job at the same time. If youre a nervous patient, then this is definitely the place for you. Jan, the reception Manager is an absolute star! I wish I could clone her and transplant her into every doctors surgery Ive ever been to (and a few dentists too!).If youre looking for a private dentist offering a service thats second to none, dont even bother trying anywhere else. Ive tried a few in the Newport area in the past (I once even got accused of losing my own records by one receptionist!but have no intention of going anywhere else now. Fantastic service - always with a big smile!

Called at 9.30 am for an emergency dentist was seen by 11.30 and an hour later pain free! After just moving to the area and struggling to find a good dentist I would definitely recommend these guys! Looking to sign up to their Denplan for further treatment

Ive been a Denplan patient with Devon Place for the last 9 years, and Ive had an excellent service - the best Ive had. Ive had no problems getting emergency appointments when needed, and Im particularly grateful that the practise are so good at dealing iwth nervous patients like me!

As the owner of Devon Place 7 Day Dental,I can confirm that it is open 7 days a week by appointment only and for Private/ Denplan patients.NHS patients are excluded from weekends as the NHS will not fund us to be open.

Theyre called 7 day dental yet dont open on Saturday (I just checked with them!)! Plus my partner went for emergency treatment, got told there was nothing wrong and was rudely sent on his way. When he went back later and insisted he was in agony, the dentist conceded there was work that needed doing so hed have to sign up to private. And their private prices are extortionate. There are far cheaper. I wouldnt use this dentist. The work the dentist did did the trick, but not worth the fight we had, or the cost!

Appointment times mean nothing considering its a private practice. Dentist was great. But if your paying huge costs you should be getting your appointment time. 30mins past my appointment and still waiting
