I always enjoy going to this restaurant. They always have delicious food to eat. Their atmosphere was a little bit louder than I thought it should have been. I expected to have a quiet calm dinner. Instead there was another table full of like 5 or 6 people that were pretty loud. I hope next time the atmosphere is not as loud. It is a very nice restaurant. Their décor is very nice. The waitress was very nice explaining the specials twice. All the waiters and waitresses were very good attending to us. They were also very polite while attending to us. My salmon plate was very delicious. I enjoyed the sauce it had add. The bread with the garlic, Olive oil and vinegar was very tasty. I cant wait to dine in this restaurant again soon.
I wish we would have eaten here sooner! Delicious food with outstanding service.
Excellent to celebrate special occasions in a more intimate way.Great service.
Amazing meal! The Chef Conner’s food is unbelievable! The service from Steven was unforgettable! Absolutely loved this evening with family! 🥰Thank you so much Dews 💕
Dewz menu is extraordinary and has a delightful selection. The wine list as well. There are some very cleverly made dishes with a great variety of unusual vegetables. It is a very charming little place.
Wow!!! My brother in law hosted his 10 year anniversary dinner at Dewz Restaurant. The service was impeccable and the food was devine. Our server Will was THE MOST INCREDIBLE SERVER!!!! I cant even begin to list all the great things.. I never seen an empty glass or a plate set longer than a few moments. Also.... the coffee soothed my soul!! 😂The memories my sister has made at this restaurant are unforgettable and now I also have a beautiful memory including Dewz!!!! Thank you all for working so hard to make their anniversary so special.I highly recommend Dews Restaurant for any special occasion!!!
An old favorite did not disappoint! We moved out of the area and havent been in 5 or 6 years. We finally made the drive back just for Dewz and it did not disappoint. Our server Wilbur was fantastic and remembered us (and we remembered him for his excellent service years ago).Food was absolute perfection! We splurged and ordered the Wagu tomahawk with the blue cheese and bacon crust. Best steak of our lives! Each sauce also complimented the steak perfectly and gave a very different taste to each bite. One of the many things we love about Dewz is the experience. You never feel rushed and are encouraged to take your time, sip your wine, and enjoy dessert. Thanks again for a wonderful night.
My husband and I have been to Dewz on multiple occasions and have loved each experience! Dewz and their exceptional staff make you feel like you escaped to the city for a night of beautiful food and ambiance. We had a tomahawk special, mashed potatoes and a variety of desserts. All were cooked to perfection. An amazing bottle of Bordeaux topped off the night. Almost more impressive then the delicious food was the knowledgeable and attentive staff. We even had their head chef visit our table to ensure we were happy with the meal. Couldn’t recommend Dewz more! We are so lucky to have such an amazing restaurant in the Valley!
I use to eat here 2 to 4 times a week. My favorite thing to eat at Dews was the lobster bisque. Ymmmm!!
Best fine dining in town.
I love this high-end restaurant. The service was excellent, my husband and me had a great evening celebrating!!
Great food! Awesome people!! Proposed to my husband here!!
Lil on the pricey side but the bartender thats usually there on nights/weekends serves amazing drinks and is very friendly and outgoing
Absolutely fantastic service, anniversary dinner couldnt have been more perfect. Food and drink were above expectations. Well worth the money.
Have been here a few times and has never disappointed. I love the food and everyone Id always nice and welcoming. They try to accommodate you whenever possible.
We went to this place for our anniversary. Eight years ago we had our very first date in this place and I really wanted to do our anniversary in the same place. Heather was our waitress and she was unbelievable. Polite, kind, professional, you name it!!!! The environment was perfect, the music was just right, the food was perfect. What a great night!!! Thank you Dewz for making my anniversary so memorable.
We had a plan to go to this restaurant before Covid hit. We waited to long to try this place it was excellent. My wife got the filet and Caesar salad. I went with tomahawk ribeye I almost finished the whole thing. Our dinner was amazing we will be back to try other dishes. I would highly recommend it you looking something nice for a date or nice night out with friends.
The best dining experience in the entire Central Valley. Chefs are doing great work and the menu is amazing. Service staff was excellent, ingredients were top-notch.
Such a great place to eat of you are looking for some fine dining. We had a party of 9 and the service was outstanding! The food was equally amazing
Hidden gem alert! Unassuming storefront in average part of downtown belies some expert culinary technique and excellent service. The menu isnt vast - specialties are housemade pastas paired with proteins and sauces - but all are composed with a deft touch, as if theyve had time to perfect them (they probably have - the decor is a bit dated). We had blistered shishitos and ahi poke appetizers - both were generous in portion and very well sauced. Salmon penne pasta was a special, and didnt disappoint. Pink sauce was light enough not to overwhelm but still very flavorful. Tagliatelle with beef and peppercorn sauce was hearty and delicious. Wine list is appropriately robust for a place with attached wine shop and several Wine Spectator awards for their efforts, though I was a little disappointed by their Zin offerings. Flourless chocolate cake was passable and met expectations - would probably opt for the tableside creme brulee next time.
The BEST lobster bisque Ive ever tasted! Our wqiter Wilbert made our mouths water the way he articulated the specials and the food did not disappoint! Did I mention the cocktails left us feeling giddy? Lol! A+++ rating!
AMAZING appetizers, food was exceptional, and desert was to die for --> chocolate ecstasy all the way! Pork belly and calamari are the go to appetizers! Loved the atmosphere and the staff/management were top notch! Cant wait to go back!
This is a great place to get a lunch and the dinner is always stellar. The wine menu has a wide variety for to use to select from. The Chef does a great job. If you have not been I would suggest stopping by minimally for lunch then dinner.
We really enjoyed our dinner. Atmosphere was relaxing with a nice stiff drink.
Absolutely exquisite service and meals. Our server was a tall blonde woman with great attention to detail and a masterful understanding of fine dining. We came into dinner at 7pm on a Thursday and were gently put to ease as we worried we would be rushed out the door at closing. Such was not the case. We were fully accommodated beyond typical business hours, and the very momentous business meeting was in part due to the quality of service provided. Bravo Dewz, indeed you have gained a happy customer.
Nice atmosphere, great food (the pork belly appetizer was delicious). Although we were seated relatively quickly, it took 25 minutes before our server made it to the table. After that service was good. The owner was there and recognized the delay and offered to buy our dessert (without a complaint from us). He even went so far as to have a quick conversation with us and make sure we enjoyed our experience. Well be back and Ill update my review then.
Once you get over the sticker shock, this place rocks. The location is excellent with easy parking. The service was impeccable -- highly knowledgeable, personable and fun. The food came out at a good pace and was amazing. My beef was literally fork tender. If I had to find a flaw ... The table-side Caesar salad was small and heavy on the dressing. Cheers to Dewz for doing fine dining right.
My husband and I had a nice dinner at Dewz on Dec. 28. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy. They have a great round bar to sit at as some did to wait for a table. However, I would like to extend some feedback to the owner or manager. The portion sizes are almost laughable. We got 4 very small scallops as an appetizer for $20. We each had a salad which were decent size for the price. At the end, we had cheese for desert. We paid $6 for a piece of cheese the size of a small dice. Also, while sitting at the bar, the bartenders were nice but had very little personality. Every martini drink one of them made was short and way below the rim. My husband and I live in Southern California and go out to dinner a lot. We prefer smaller portions but Dewz takes it to the extreme.
Very Nice place. I was there for Meeting in the wine room. Food was great awsome wine list the waiter was very knowledgeable with the wine
Best food and atmosphere Ive had in Modesto... Delicious and service was great!
I was here for a work dinner and it was simply amazing!! Everything I tasted was flavorful, plentiful, fresh and phenomenal! All praise to Chef Connor for a phenomenal meal! The staff were kind, warm, attentive and worked very well together to tend to our large group! My least favorite item was the cheesecake, but the blended flavors was different and danced on my palate! I really enjoyed my dinner and will definitely return in the future!
Excellent service via Scott, Dont worry youll get to know him a vibrant , intelligent and down to earth kind of guy. Did I mention our ordered plates hit it off just right with our family. For starters, we had calamari and pork belly.. A tasty side to get your palette primed. The first dish on the pics was the lamb, full of flavor and meatiness. I went for the homemade pasta with prawns which were cooked to perfection. Apologize for the blurry photo on a few of pics. I loved the seasoning and white wine and butter, I think. My wife had the salmon, she like the crusted part of the properly cooked fish with an abundance of kale. My other kid had the same homemade pasta, but the waitress had the chef replace the seafood with chicken instead. He is slightly allergic to seafood. Good job there. A surprising end to ending up in a rather plush locale. Summarize, a nice place to dine with friends and family. The friendly atmosphere with impeccable service by the staff. Reservations are recommended at dinner time. Thanks for letting us in without one. TIP: Make a point to meet the point guy.. Scott.
Below is my earlier review, but on January 10 we went back for a beer pairing event. This was fantastic. Not only was the food wonderful, but we had amazing beer. The best was the Mole Merkin, amazing cinnamon and coffee overtones paired with a tender short rib cooked to perfection.Sorry no pictures today, but the food was great. My husband had never been here before. We biked here and there was nearby bike parking. The outdoor dining was not available, but it was nice with the air conditioning. We started with the fromage plate (cheesewhich came with a wine tasting. We had the house cabernet and chardonnay. Both Gallo brands and actually quite good. We both ordered beer. I enjoyed half of my citrus chicken and my husband ate all of his blue cheese crusted New York Steak. He said maybe its the two beers, but he loved it. We brought home the fettuccine prawn dish for our son who rated it great, eveneating the vegetables. Well be back.Today returned to Dewz. I again had the cheese plate and enjoyed the William Hill Cabernet and Bridlewood Chardonnay. I had a full glass of the chardonnay with my dinner of Scallop Risotto. The scallops on top were perfectly cooked, but the ones in the risotto lacked a bit of flavor. My husband again enjoyed the steak with crispy blue cheese on top and perfect medium rare inside. He had the 8 Ball Stout beer and even I enjoyed my taste of that one. Below are todays pictures.
The food was delicious from starter to finish. I had the berry subtle drink which was a perfect mixture of tart and mint. Jeremy, our waiter, was incredibly friendly and our water was always full. Cosy seating and a very nice atmosphere with orchestral renditions of modern music playing.
I decided to go out for a New Yeas Eve Dinner, the settings were very festive, the Restaurant was very for the time of year. The menu had choices of different entrees. We had wine with dinner. We chose the chicken. It was delicious. Deserts very good. It had all the components for the term fine dining.. The atmosphere, service, a little pricy, food all great. The only thing that kept this evening from being a 5 star rating was we had a dish of pasta come out that was so salty that we had to send it back and the replacement was good and fast coming back. Definitely recommend for fine dinging.
We had a great time Thursday night sitting in the bar and talking. We had Charcuterie and other great appetizers. Shawna the bartender made me her signature smoked Manhattan that was amazing to watch, smell and drink. Its a must have!
Edit: I was sad to see they had foie gras on their special for the day, AFTER its been banned in California. We will not be coming back here. #banfoiegrasWe usually come here for special occasions. Every time, the customer service and food has exceeded our expectations. I always try one of their signature drinks, I havent found one I love yet. They make Caesar salad table side, its really good. Food, we usually get one of their specials of the night, they never disappoint. And their desserts are out of this world.
Very nice, knowledgeable and friendly wait staff and awesome food!
I order the samon appetizer it was delicious. I also order the calmari with tarter sauce it was scrumptious. The ribeye medium rare was so yummy. It was my first time dining here. Overall my loved it pricey but worth it
Upscale, boutique bistro and lounge. Walk into a modern chic decor. A classy, romantic setting. Full bar with great wine selection and artisan cocktails. Great service. The menu offers a nice selection of American bistro/fusion otems. The food was perfectly executed with high end ingredients, great textures and well layered flavor profiles. Prices more than par. Portions par.
Amazing food and service. Best culinary experience Ive ever had.
My favoriterestaurant, never disappoints, great staff always catering to your every need, such a fresh, well prepared meal.
Best food in town. Super classy staff. How they run this place reminds me of Disneyland. Perfection. You will never have a bad experience with staff and after going there maybe 80 times, the food has been perfect every time as well. The you will want to dress nice for the dinners if possible but the lunches are pretty casual. Ive gone there once or twice in workout clothes and never felt unwelcome. If I had money to burn id be there practically every day
What can I say? Ummm👍👍🤩👑The restaurant staff serve you well. The customer is always treated like royalty, on an individual basis, with the utmost respect and patience.👨🎨🏅They are so meticulous about their place settings. After watching the staff clean the tables and begin the process and very carefully place all the glassware, utensils and napkins as if they were working on a masterpiece. Not a common practice.😊The atmosphere is romantic, relaxed, business, cozy, elegant & casual. Its EVERYTHING;They are classy!!🤔 I wouldnt, and you shouldnt go there in shorts, jeans and a t-shirt. Dews is not the place. You should dress according to the atmosphere and respect their efforts in making each customer feel like royalty.🍾🥂 Its perfect for any occasion.😍 Especially if you aim to please , impress or propose to your loved one. Celebrate a special moment or if you just want a great meal. 🍽Or you can stop in for a drink. 🍷🍸🍹🤗 Whatever you choose, you wont regret it.
Always love date night at Dewz. Best restaurant in the Central Valley!!
While working for this company, I can tell you that the cooks are careless of the environment. This photo is of the floor in the kitchen while sweeping. Absolute filth ! The convicts that they hire dont clean properly and to be honest I seldomly seen the cooks and prepcooks performing appropriate hand washing. CPR and first aid is not a requirement here.
My wife and I ate at the original dewz on our first date and we return every few years. It never disappoints. The food is always fun and delicious with local ties. The wait staff is attentive without interrupting needlessly. The atmosphere is quiet and the pace is relaxed. On our last visit we were there for over two hours. We ended up with four courses each one worth its own rave. If you are looking for a place for a nice night out where you can enjoy your company and some top shelf food, I dont know anyplace better within a hundred miles.
Everything prepared at Dewz will greatly exceeded your expectations. But just do yourself a favor and order the fillet mignon. Simply put, Dewz is the best steakhouse in the central valley.
The inside is a great atmosphere. Exposed brick walling, red and black decor, pillows on the booth side of the tables. Upon entering is a lounge area and the bar. However, it was freezing in there. We were immediately seated and our water glasses filled. Our sever was Shauna, and she was excellent. Unable to drink any alcohol, a mocktail was created for me. I opted for Strawberry Basil yet the drink was a deep red of Strawberry with a leaf of Basil. So there was the aroma of Basil when I took a drink, but the leaves werent muddled and incorporated into the drink. The house bread is served with a blend of Mediterranean olive oils and the olive oil had exceptional flavor. We chose the Starter Sampler, $17 a person. It came with Calamari which was served with marinara and aioli - the marinara had some spice to it and was a bit chunky. Aioli Im not supposed to eat while pregnant but I snuck in two bites - and it was delicious. Next was Pumpkin Ravioli (2 pieceswhich had a swirl of balsamic vinegar. The conflicting flavors were the perfect combination and I was pleasantly surprised I 1liked the pumpkin and 2enjoyed the BV with it. The third was a Pork Belly in a Korean Chili Sauce; we were warned it was Spicy and it was however the spice didnt overpower anything and still led to a great flavor. The fourth and last item was grilled Brie. Unlike traditionally Brie, wrapped in a bread, this was on top of a piece of bread that I believe she said was soaked in balsamic. It was absolutely amazing! We both got the lobster bisque and it was quite interesting how it was served. A bowl with the pieces of lobster (3 or 4 pieces at the most), some vegetables (e.g. Celery, onionsis served and then the bisque poured over top.My husband and I each chose a steak ($55 each). I chose the special of Petite Filet which was supposed to have one type of cheese on it but as the cheese wasnt pasteurized, I went with the bleu cheese since it was. My husband had a Kobe ribeye which our served said was actually crossed with Wagyu. Ive never heard of that cross but I guess they could be bred together? Our sever described the ribeye as "tough" yet I think she meant to say fatty....ribeyes tend to be due to marbling yet I dont think of them as tough. Sirloins, sure. Lean New York Strips, maybe. My filet was cooked correctly and tender, yet not tender enough to cut with a fork. And the Ribeye had good flavor. I honestly wouldnt have expected the filet to cost as much as a Kobe/Wagyu steak, so the cost surprised me. Overall, neither steak entree gave me a wow-factor.For dessert, and I really wanted to try about 4 different kinds, we choose the Banana Creme Brûlée Cheesecake. The sugar is torched table side and you watch the bananas caramelize. I was utterly disappointed in this. Im used to fluffy, creamy, heavenly cheesecake (I can make a good cheesecake! It may crack, but its good!yet this was more dry and almost mealy in texture. Id have been content with a banana! The word "creme" in the description is misleading - its truly a piece of cheesecake with sliced bananas on top and then sugar on the banana which gets torched and caramelized.I had a hard time seeing how an item was described on the menu in its real life form; almost as though the descriptions didnt match what was presented - e.g. The Brie Bread and the Pork Belly. Yet it was still delicious. And truly, almost every item was served cool to cold. I said something about the ravioli, my husband about the calamari, the pork belly was odd to eat not hot....yet cold bisque was really disappointing. So not surprised, my garlic mashed potatoes were cold too. (Shrug)I dont feel the meal was worth what we paid ($270 including tipand I was really disappointed in the temperature of all our food; whether it was a long way from kitchen to table, the cold temperature inside the restaurant, or both Ive no idea. Maybe it sat for a while before someone was able to serve it to us? But I felt it was unacceptable for almost all of our food to be cool to cold.
Excellent food and service! We were greeted promptly and given cocktail menus. The dews infused martini was refreshing. Our server was knowledgeable of the food and everything from the calamari appetizer to the entree was delicious. I had the Angus steak and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to my liking. The entree was well proportioned and fulfilling. The ambiance and decor was romantic and perfect for the occasion. I will definitely be back!
