Homemade coconut cream pie, was so good Im sorry I didnt order dessert first. Sandwiches were very good, but I might have skipped the usual lunch and simply ordered pie. Very nice people here, friendly and prompt service on a quiet Saturday.
Very friendly staff and good food. Filthy bathroom.
Great food at a great price and wonderful service
I walked out before my dish got to the table. The booth seats have duck tape on them, the coffee was horrible. Everything was dirty. Ive never had to do that before. Left a tip for their troubles.I went to sunrise Cafe down the road for breakfast instead and it was exactly the opposite experience.
Good food, good value, and great service. We almost didn’t stop but are glad we did. The place is definitely rustic but the food was tasty. Seems like everything is made from scratch. We ordered a variety of foods - pasta, sandwiches, and the tomato soup. All where excellent.
Good food. Service was lacking a bit. We had three at our table and a table of eight came in after we ordered and they got all their food before we did.
Great food and prices plus friendly wait staff, would eat here again.
As always their food is excellent!
Great food.We had bacon cheese burgers and mozzarella sticks.Place was full ,we still got fast friendly service.A must to visit.
Friendly service, good food, reasonable prices
Carpet on floor looks very dirty, I asked no mushrooms, but they added, hashbrown was not homemade.
Very tasty food and nice personal. The bathroom could use a little update.
Love liver and onions Not permitted to cook it in the house. So my choice was obvious. Thank you for having it on the menu.
Not too many family restuarants with wholesome home-cooked style meals exist anymore so whenever my husband & I stumble across them its our first choice to eat. The only reason Im ranking it at a 4star is because the place can use some modern updating. Its interior is a little too dark with the stained wood walls, and the window curtains are quite aged while the carpeting maybe as old as my first born. Lets face it, paint alone can go along way in adding some lift! The bathrooms definitely need some attention as well, last I checked toilet seats run about $20 bucks at Walmart, buy replacements.Yet the kind fast service is enough to bring you back again and the food is certainly delicious! I had a cup of the stuffed pepper soup of the day. There is something about made from scratch food that warms you to your soul. Id have to say their Chicken n Bisquits has to be a staple meal of theres also, we both had it and it was extraordinary! My only other suggestion would be add carrots, especially glazed, or corn as a side for this dish and itll be even more enticing.
Food is ok when you can get it. For quite awhile now either the phone is busy for hours or no one answers so we can get food to go. Guess they dont need the business.
Always great home cooked food and good prices. Worth the stop.
Nice servers, tasty food, reasonable prices! Worth the trip to a longstanding landmark.
Went there for breakfast. Was the not good at all. I ordered over easy the yoke was cooked almost completely. The home fries were Burnt and cold. My boyfriend orders hash brown which were like the ones from McDonalds. And super greasy. The bacon was cold for both. The toast wasnt even warm. And we ordered waters one glass was dirty .And this was there second change will never go there again!!
Nice little diner, but they are understaffed so it took a while just to get a salad. The food was tasty and the staff were nice.
Great food, awesome service, good prices!
Accidentally rated 1 star . Great food and service . FF are slamming!!!!
Two days in a row I’ve tried to eat at this place. The first day I had been driving for 8 hours. I arrived just before the posted closing time to locked doors. I was mildly irritated but understood that it was a few minutes early and sometimes people do that. I came 30 minutes earlier than the posted closing time and made it through the door with my party only to be informed that they were closed. I wonder what the food is like. I hope they read this and at least have the decency to actually keep their posted hours. Even a paper sign would have been acceptable.
Definitely one of my favorite places in this area. Great food. great prices and usually great service. I wish they were open longer hours for my late night cravings
Dobbs is everything a neighborhood restaurant should be. Friendly, unrushed, satisfying. Start the coffee, Im coming back!
Nancy was an excellent waitress. She took very good care of us.
The service was polite, and the food was reasonably priced (for the most part). I ordered a custom burger, cooked medium, with fries on the side. The fries were not fresh cut, as I have come to expect from a diner of this caliber. In high school we used to call them "Freedom Fries." The burger was cooked well done (not medium). The mushrooms on the burger were clearly from a can, and not fresh or sautéed. The fries were an extra charge because they "couldnt" substitute for the coleslaw and chips. I dont like coleslaw and I never got the chips. All in all, it was a well priced, quiet place to eat with friendly enough staff.
Was very disappointed when we got there at 7:30 and was told the kitchen was closed. Not the first time we drove there for dinner and told that.
Called in breakfast, then had it ready in 15 minutes. It taste really good.
Great place! The Jumbo bacon cheese burger was fantastic and the coffee very good! For the price of two meals and coffees here I only get two coffees and a cookie at the Hipster cafes at home. ;)
This is an absolute hidden gem ...the best Philly sandwich and haddock sandwich we have ever had....top notch service and lovely homey atmosphere...will most definitely be back when we are in the area again❤️❤️
Dont let the looks of this place scare you away. It is your typical local Country restaurant. The wait staff is very friendly and efficient. They are constantly working and keeping the customers happy. The food was surprisingly delicious. The steak and cheese had peppers, onions, and mushrooms that were cooked perfectly with steak slices. It wasnt the paper thin steak either but thicker pieces of sirloin. The hamburgers also had quality meat and a good size patty. The fries were crispy with great flavor and perfect amount of salt. We got a slice of cherry pie and it tasted homemade. Delicious! The price was excellent !! So put first impressions aside and try one of there meals.
Stopped there while on a long drive for something to go, the prices were great, the food came out fast and hot, and was delicious as well!
Loved it. Nice size portions, comfy atmosphere, friendly staff and just nice. We will definitely be going again. Small town and local. Keep these mom n pop shops going.
Ordered a meat lovers omelet. Was overloaded with sausage and asked for cheese. Very skimpy. Egg was very thin for omelet. Home fries were delicious though
Not to happy with this place. Last time I ate here was over 20 years because of bad service. Today I was hoping change but not anything different. Its just a place to stop and eat. I say keep driving three more exits north or south and youll find better rest eating.
Great Chicken and Biscuits. My go to dinner. Real mashed potatoes. Love it.
Good diner food with a huge menu, and very inexpensive. There are definitely some good finds in the menu. Staff was very nice.
Everything about this place was fantastic, the waitress was so nice and got us everything we asked for and even our kids and the food was delicious, portions were great and excellent quality. This is one of my favorite spots on our trip to NY. Most definitely worth the stop!
Best Prime Rib dinner Ive ever had!!
Great good!! We tried a little bit of everything while we were here. The wings were really good, the roast beef was really good also. The portions are big, and our waitress was awesome. Very patient and knowledgeable of the menu. 10 out of 10 recommend.
Been around for years for A Good Reason they use the old standards of service. Greeter at the door, a clean spacious booth or table, a menu and specials, then your drink order taken. The food choices are many and I have never been disappointed with any dish.
First time there. Went to breakfast with my aunt and cousin. We wanted Waffles but there was no waffle mix but they had pancakes. I had my infant daughter with me. I went to the bathroom to change her. Thank God I had my own washable chuck. As there was absolutely no changing table just a small counter space my opinion remove the counter and put a changing table there instead. A changing table folds up the counter was taking up space an had only a small container of air freshener on it. Invest in air freshener that dispensary in the air mounted on the wall.
Only 1 waitress that caught my eye. She was running around all over, doing everything she possibly could, while one kept disappearing and the other barked orders. Our server never came back to check on us until I got up and walked over to ask for what I needed. My food came out cold, but was still delicious.
We went to breakfast before the flea market Sunday and by far the better food we ate out at all weekend! Bacon was cooked to perfection. Eggs were good. Home fries and onions could have been cooked more as they were a bit soggy/mushy still to my liking even though I asked for extra crispy and the toast seemed a bit soft. But overall it was a welcome relief to know breakfast here is still really good and worth going to!
Food was good. Service was great. Prices were good too. We were there toward the end of the day and they were out of a lot of things, so go early. Would recommend.
The server was lovely. She tried very hard to make this a positive dining experience. The food was the problem, unfortunately . My husband found a hard bread end in his soup. I mean cement, rock hard. The server took it off the bill. We ordered burgers, medium well. My husband picked his up and blood was running out of it all over the plate. He cut into it- very raw. I cut into mine- slightly less raw, but still way under cooked. At this point, we were disgruntled and hungry. I found the server and said we could not wait around for another issue and we left. I have NEVER EVER done that in my life. Worst experience with food ever.
Cozy diner just off the highway. Friendly service. Fair prices. Burger patty is fresh made!
Simple and easy road trip pit stop. Come many times over the years for the chicken and biscuits, stuffed mushrooms, pot pie(always sad I can never get it on a Sunday). With the dog this last time so we got quick take-away and went to Salt Springs Park to eat/hike.
This is probably my favourite place to eat at when I’m traveling to NYC or anywhere in Pennsylvania. It is an extremely friendly place with great staff and excellent food. I’ve tried everything from their steaks to their soups, and it’s honestly never disappointed and the best value for money. Their Delmonico steak is amazing and if you ask for the chef’s special they will make it with mushrooms and onions and it is truly to die for. Their Philly Cheesesteak is to the best I’ve ever had, even better than the ones in Philly itself. Strongly recommend this place, every single time.
Good old fashioned diner food done well .... got the open faced roast beef.... well seasoned and solid flavor.... as an added bonus, the coffee was actually decent.... not something you find much anymore
