Terrible customer service. We walked out of there without even ordering, because the cashier was giving us attitude for changing my child’s order.

It was good! Hole in the wall kind of place, huge menu! Everything we tried was great.

Good place to get Chicago Dogs for me. Nice people running it and everything is made fresh for you.

Norm and staff always make you feel welcome. Plus, they have a burger thats better than some of the bigger named franchises.

Had the Shrimp Basket with some nice fries to go alongside it. Just the way I like it.

Good food but a bit pricey for hot dogs

I love coming in for a chat and a delicious gyro. Easily the best, freshest tzatziki sauce in the area and overall best gyros. We are absolutely Dogout gyro ambassadors.

Very informal, small, family owned and run eatery featuring hot dogs, hamburgers, gyros, Italian beef, salads, etc. I like the Polish and believe it to be the best in the area. It is a friendly place to go.

Great mom and pop place! Their italian beefs are one of the better ones around and their fries are top notch!

Nice staff. Asked if the chicken fingers were pressed meat or real meat. Told they were not pressed. They are. Yuck. Other food was good.

I had the polish combo, gyro, and double cheeseburger and it was phenomenal! The owners were super friendly and easy to talk to and cracked some funny jokes. Norm is a really great guy and I recommend all to come here! You won’t be disappointed!

I luv this restaurant from the burger to the Chicago dogs I go the everyday for lunch and be satisfied every time nice people clean and homey fill to it.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Nothing special or innovative, just delicious, authentic Chicago grill food. Service was prompt and staff was attentive. I recommend.

Best hot dog joint north of Chicago. Lots of outdoor seating for COVID 19. Super friendly staff, Delicious food and big portion sizes. Lunch breaks are always at The Dogout every time I’m in Bannockburn.

Great dogs that are like a good ballpark dog! The owner takes time to come and talk to everyone and see how theyre doing. He Jokes around and enjoys what he does.Cant wait to go back.

This is a local hot dog and burger place. It is run by a very sweet, old couple. I like their burgers as they are flame grilled. You can tell that they care about their customers. I do wish it was a bit cleaner but it doesnt change the fact that this place is a Bannockburn institution. Support your local businesses and go here, its very good!

You have to try the Greek Salad with gyros!!! Super fantastic.You will not be disappointed, trust me.

This is now my go to gyro place! The gyros are very flavorful and the slices arent too thick or thin. They also werent greasy at all, just lots of flavory goodness! Their tzatziki sauce is INCREDIBLE. Such a great sauce that I honestly ate the rest of the sauce in the cup after I finished my gyros. The sauce is so good you can eat it with anything..trust me. The cheese fries are great as well, and they give you a big enough cup of cheese for the fries! Awesome place, youll love the food as much as me!

Horrible service. I picked up carryout and they messed up our order and put onions on my hotdogs after specifically telling them not to. I call the owner and said he is sorry but that happens when one of his employees answers the phone ..I didnt want to waste my time explaining how ignorant he sounded. I will never go back .

Wow I cannot believe this place is still open. I havent been here in years (almost a decadeand happy to see this place is still going strong. Their gyro is as good as I remembered.

Super nice guys running the place. Huge parking lot for the entire mall. I had the homemade Italian Beef sandwich and fries. The beef quality was excellent, the homemade auju gravy was out of the ordinary but pretty good. I would probably order a burger or something else next time.

This place was totally awesome. My wife and son were with me for a baseball tournament near here and was looking for somewhere to eat and this popped up on Google maps so tried it and was GREAT. My Italian sausage was excellent the hotdogs my son and wife had were great. I was talking to the guy about the tournament my son was in and asked where I could get a little more ice and he offered some just to keep the water cold in my little cooler for my son. Just a great place

Dogouts hot dog is the best Chicago dog in the area. Their chili cheese dog is also very good. Cheese fries here are better than Portillos, good salads, homemade chicken soup is better than Panera next door and great when it gets cold. Also very good homemade tzatziki sauce and Reuben sandwich is also a favorite. Good grilled chicken sandwich as well. Overall, great food and courteous service. Happy to support a local place.

Food is just average. $3.29 for a Tamale that was cooked in the microwave? I think its just a bit to much for that but not horrible. The burger was just ok. It fell apart before I could finish it. The overall inside needs to be cleaned and updated. The owner takes your order and is super friendly but then starts to prepare your food without washin his hands. Unfortunately in todays market to spend $12.85 on a burger meal and a Tamale you can get much better quality food for the same amount of money elsewhere. I would have to say I wont be returning.

Excellent service and great portions

I was in the area working and checked the reviews for this place. The "jenny from the block" one made me giggle. (Who gives bad reviews based on harmless comments?)Anyway, we got there early and it was closed. The owner saw us and opened the doors and told us to get out of the cold. That was nice. So far so good.I noticed a lady working and i asked if she was the one with the bad attitude. And if so that i expected bad attitude from her. Lol based on the bad review.Turns out she is the sweetest lady and she explained what happened with the man who got upset. She wasnt rude about him or talked smack. Nevertheless i told her i was disappointed because i was expecting attitude.... hahahaThe food was delicious and authentic considering the location i was in... The husband and wife are really sweet, the gyro was great. I love that they put the sauce on the side, that way i control how much to put on my gyro... Crispy fries (ask for a cheese cup on the side..mmmmmm)

I have been a longtime customer of this place. Today I had the worst experience and will never go back. The owner (wife), who ALWAYS has an attitude problem, made the most inappropriate comment to me, her customer. I was on a business call, which when ordering, I put my call on hold to pay and finalize my order. At this point, all I needed to do was to be handed my bag of food. So I took the call off hold as I waited for my bag. As she is reading the name on the order, she says "Phillip... on the phone like Jenny from the Block" in the most heinous tone. First off, there was no more communication necessary - I am waiting for you to hand me a bag of food. Must my call wait for my hand to reach on the counter? Secondly, you should NEVER talk to a customer that way. This is what differentiates a good establishment from a great one. Who the hell talks to their customers like that? She has seen me 50 times... The most ironic part of it all, after I paid my food and the husband said "go down to the young lady at the end of the counter", I replied "isnt she the best?..." I retract that statement. No - the food is the best. She is unprofessional and nasty. Not going back. A total shame cuz the husband is a total sweetie and has been nothing but kind.

My favorite hotdog stand on the north shore. And the menu is much more diverse than a typical hotdog stand. Italian beef, gyros, salads, burgers and much more beyond just dogs and sausage. And Norm is a genuinely great guy that will make you feel like a regular.
