Dollar General in Luzerne County

It appears this store is finally under new management and finally have a staff willing to work. Despite issues out of their control, its nice to see the management in there working their butts off the try and get the store looking better. Kudos to the new manager!

This store is terrible. Boxes everywhere for restocking and very messy junky looking shelves They don’t have gluten free cookies anymore and the employees stand around talking and not doing any work.

Good help and prices close to home

Store was messy and disshoveled. I had a hard time getting around and finding what I was looking for. Other Dollar General stores are more organized and better stocked.

Sadly DG is so under staffed, and underpaid. It seems as if the staff does not want to do any work. Quite to the contrary, when you only get one or two days to stock shelves, but dont have the staff to cover the work needed, this is why most DG stores look the way they do. While the management is forced to make up the short fall in staff youll have managers doing the work load of four or five staff members. I have heard managers working 80 hours a week and more just to try to get the stock pit out. Keep in mind a manager is salaried not hourly, the get paid the same no matter how many hours they work. This is a very poor business plan and DG should step up and fix the issues. But I doubt that will happen. Like the store, love the staff.

Have everything I was looking for but it needs to be straightened up

Very dirty, outdated milk was just thrown in a bin and left in the middle of the isle. Waited 10min for a cashier before I had to go find one for my 83 yr old mother can get checked out. This place needs to be shut down.

The aisles are so full of boxes, you cant get through. Shelves are always in shambles. They need to hire a person to empty boxes and stock shelvesThey expect the cashiers to do it and they are too busy!

DG is great if you want to be quick and not spend a crazy amount of money on something...I shop at 5 different DG locations around me ...it seems like theres one in every town/city in the area now...VERY CONVENIENT!!

Store is dirty you cant get down the aisle because of product blocking the aisle. Only one cashier.

Lots of stuff, some of it good. My big issue, not everything has clearly marked or easily found prices.

I love the convince of Dollar General but why the mess? The parking lot is always full of trash, maybe because they dont have a trash can for the customers. Even the inside of the store is filthy.

Not good. Didnt have 3 items I went there for and its really a pain in the butt trying to navigate around all the stock items in the isles.

Bit congested with orders sitting on the floor. Every one was courteous though.

It.s Isles are overcrowded not wide enough .boxes in isles. Your grinding against the shelfs it.s so crowed.Candy bars section way down close to floor below cashier in front.The candy bars are all covered from dust or dirt because people walk out that way to get out.I was upset when i seen that.The health inspector lets that go like that.They cost to much money there for most products you get at other places cheaper.to me if there was a place to get lost it.s between those pallets of boxes and supplies for shelves on the floor.

You buy something and never carry it again

This stores become a total joke. Between the empty shelves and ignorant employees your better off visiting any other dollar general. My latest visit I stepped to the register which was lit as open to have the girl say Im closed. I went to the only other line to have the cashier tell me she cant take cash, which is what I was paying with. I tossed my items on a rack, told them their store sucks and left. Between the total ignorance of the so called employees, the empty shelves because merchandise is always unboxed on carts all over the store,and the overall filth of the place, this store should be closed.

Would give it more stars if it wasn’t always so filthy. CLEAN THIS STORE !!!!!!!!!!

Love this place...they have everything you need

Store is usually pretty dirty. Their prices are alright and they usually are stocked up on items I need.

The Wilkes Barre DGs are usually kept up nice. I wish the Hanover Mall store hired more associates to do stock so I can move around without some old lady giving me bad looks for not getting out of her way.

Hard to find everything not organised not priced

Always dirty and cluttered. They remodeled but everything is still in the isles?

The store is a bit unorganized to find some items. And you might encounter some items that are more than a dollar.

Cheap can find things that are more expensive deffinitly worth going durring sales.

In and out get what you need decent prices

Wish I could give 0 stars! This place is a mess. I believe I went to this store a month ago and the carts with products are everywhere. Same today. Also the employees you can hear cursing in the aisles they are in. Beware you may just fall on the stuff thats everywhere.

We go there for alot of stuff

Went to grab something quick when first opening. As I pulled up the opening manager sprints into the building yelling they were not open. It was past 8am!!! Terrible service go to the other one much better store.

When in a tight budget, the dollar store is a lifeline.

Needs new management the management is very unprofessional talking to coworkers like there homies calling them yo and the store management is ridiculously ghetto... be more professional...

Store has been recently remodeled and now has an expanded grocery department including fresh produce.Other departments have been expanded. The store is better organized than before, making it easier to find what youre looking for.

This was the second time I came around 5:00 and they closed early, no explanation. There is no excuse for a chain dollar store to do that. Needs better management. Youre better off going to the other DG on the Sans Souci.

This place needs to be properly managed. There is always stock in the way. Most of the employees are rude. It is a chaotic mess.

Good selection of merchandise at reasonable prices.
