We go here frequently on Tuesdays. I do enjoy the flavor they have here with the pastor and the chicken. Normally carne asada is a must for me, but every time i eat it here i get a hard piece of gristle that nearly makes me want to stop eating. But they have great flavored chicken and pastor. Also dont forget to try a gringas taco. They take whatever meat you want and essentially fry cheese over the top of it. Its extra filling and tastes amazing. There salsa bar has 3 varieties of salsa, i like both of the green ones and the red habanero one has an odd flavor. Salsa bar also has onions and cilantro, plus a mango habanero salsa and a red onion habanero mix. Those are both pretty hot, so avoid if you dont like spicy. First time we got the mango one we were expecting a sweet one and it punched us right in the mouth!
Fast service and price is ok, clean facility, don’t get confuse with “street” tacos, it’s actually a building restaurant.
Gotta say, this place is gold! Open late, street tacos are excellent, well priced. Always fast and delicious. Salsas are tasty. Friendly staff, convenient location, clean restaurant.
Food was great. Quesadilla was large, cheesy, and delicious and you cant beat the Tuesday deal on their delicious street tacos.Caution that their hot salsa (yellow/orange with chunksis very HOT. We were not properly prepared. Food is amazing though.
Ordered doordash and these are the best street tacos I have had in a while. This is your place if tacos are life. 🌮 🌮
Fast service and tastey food. Things to know: Their salsa options are not labeled. There is a pineapple habanero salsa that looks sweet but is very hot. Also, if you get a to-go order they put those out by the registers when they are ready so don’t wait in the dining area.
I love don Joaquín. Amazing food always. But this last time I went the women helping serve the food used her blue latex gloves to scoop the rice, and then touched the electric board to mark the order done. Obviously this isn’t the most unsanitary thing to touch, but her gloves weren’t removed and if she wasn’t removing them to touch that I’m not sure if she’s touching everything with those gloves?! We asked her nicely to reserve the rice using a spoon to scoop which she did. But I just think the restaurant needs to be more cautious about these things.
Very Spanish-friendly, and my friends from Ecuador loved the tacos. They were authentic and delicious. Be warned, the pineapple salsa is quite spicy!
Don Joaquin is one of the best street taco places around. Honestly get the gringa, loaded with cheese and any meat you choose is full of flavor. 15/10
Excellent quality and value. Added bonus is a great salsa bar including super spicy habanero pineapple.
Really good Mexican tacos, gringas, quesadillas and burritos. They had a huge selection of meats and my favorite is cabeza. We ordered a mix of items they serve and all we super good. All of their salsas were perfect. The best one was their habanero pineapple salsa. A great flavor mix and it combined perfectly with everything. They make fresh aguas frescas which is a great indicator that if they make their own drinks from scratch that the restaurant is taking the time for good food. Will be back.
So tasty! The tacos were good, but the asada burrito was perfection! We’ll definitely be back.
Yummy street tacos! Great customer service! We love the salsa topping bar.
This is my favorite taco joint! Al pastor is amazing! All there meats are great! There fresh salsas are awesome! If you like street tacos youll love this place!!!
Don Joaquins is as good as any taco joint Ive yet to find outside of Mexico. Authentic, reasonably priced, and DELICIOUS. Try the Al pastor!
I’ve been told this is the most authentic Mexican eatery around. Delicious meals and many options. Great salsa bar. Horchata and tres leches and everything you’d come to expect. Very affordable for what you get.Always packed at lunch. Counter serve. Moderate amount of parking. Tons of seating, many booths.
Fairly priced authentic tacos. Quesadilla is a must. Be sure to visit them on Tuesdays for their Tuesday Taco prices.
This place is great for quick street tacos. I usually get the al pastor and the gringa solo queso tacos. Lately, the pork has been really dry, though, and last time I went, the cheese wasnt cooked all the way in the solo queso taco. The green salsa and the avocado salsa can be really, really good or just fair. Ill keep going back, though, because its never bad, just sometimes not quite as good as other times, and the prices are the best around. Plus, the people that work there are always super friendly, which is a big deal to me.
I heard so many positive things about this place and it always seams to be busy but I guess I expected to much. I was told to try the street tacos but they were so small I would have had to eat 20 of them to get full. I would assume tacos have cheese on them but that didnt happen and they also have no picco de gallo or tomatos so everything was pretty dry. The soda was also flat, and they had no ice. Not impressed and probably wont go back.
My husband and I love it here. We eat here atleast twice a month. The street tacos are always made to order so they are super fresh and hot. It would have been 5 stars if the side rice was perfect.
The place is great, the prices are good and the staff are always friendly. The one thing I’d mention is that I think their air conditioning is broken or doesn’t exist because it’s hot inside. I thought about taking off a star but the other qualities of the place didn’t merit a subtraction. They also have a cooler of ice cream so the kids are happy about that.
Tummy tacos .. 4 filled me up just fine. Horchata was fresh. The salsas were really good
Really good! I would say its pretty authentic, but Im also no expert in that field. I do wish they labeled their hot sauces/relishes though, I chose one that had red onions and what i thought were carrots and it was WAY too spicy for me. Possibly habaneros?
We stopped in for lunch and loved everything we ordered! It was my husband , 2 daughters ages 11 and 13, and myself! We each ordered different tacos, and everybody loved them. I wish they had a couple of other locations near the rest of the places we visited. I really enjoyed the toppings bar after getting my tacos! My 11yo wants to return just for tacos!
Tacos are fantastic. Lots of seating at this location. Clean place. Workers are very nice
You don’t understand the magnitude of this review. This place is legit and the food is great. Coming from Chicago and eating out everyday I will say this is some great Mexican food.
I love this place, the tacos are super good and I never have to wait long for my food, I love the spices and flavors of the meat. Its always clean and great for a quick bite. We come as often as we can on Tuesdays for their amazing taco deals. Theyve got really good deals during the week too, definitely worth it to get food from here even if youre in a hurry.
My wife and my favorite restaurant ever. Seriously. We come here multiple times a week sometimes. Great cheap food, it is hardly ever slow here, and the atmosphere is super fun. Love it.
First try for Cinco de Mayo. Great quality of meats, all three salsa types were delicious, and a great environment for those who love some good street tacos. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed the gringa asada, chicken and chorizo tacos. They were loaded with flavor but the only reason Im not giving them 5 stars is that the size of the tacos are tiny and the prices are so high that I wont be returning. Its unfortunate, I am really liked the food but the price and sizes make it a three star restaurant.
I love Don Joaquin’s Taco Tuesday. Their street tacos are good quality, cheap, and authentic. The salsa bar has a great variety of salsas and toppings. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly!
Beware the pineapple habanero salsa. Its hot hot hot. Wife and I very much enjoyed the Combo Bigiton (2 carnitas & 2 El pastor tacos).
Excellent Mexican food, really authentic, try the al pastor tacos and make sure don’t put aside the pineapple as it give it more flavor. try the gringas if you love cheese with you favorite meat, the salsas are delicious with rich flavors, don’t forget the onions with habanero.
You don’t wanna know how far we drive for these tacos! I’ve had every taco from everywhere even different states etc! By far the best and never dissatisfied 😍
I ordered 4 Al Pastor to go. I get home, open the box, and this is what I see. One is missing meat entirely, and there is no pineapple on any of the tacos. Pretty upset, and I will not be going back. I should have never strayed from El Mexiquense.
Delicious fried mozzarella Carne asada tacos. Best tacos in Utah
Im a regular customer and always happy with the food.. We got al pastor, carne asada, and pollo gringas our most recent visit and everything was perfection! Also decided to dry a side of rice and beans this time and they were excellent.
I love this place! Good service and phenomenal food! Ive been here to many times to count and have never been upset about anything here! Come eat here if you want the best street tacos ever!
My BF picked up takeout from here so I didnt actually get to see the inside of the location. Everything was good, nothing revolutionary. The Gringas are very similar to the quesadilla except theyre fried. I probably wouldnt have been able to tell a big difference if I were blindfolded. The horchata was tasty, and Im glad they didnt put any ice in the cup.The salsas (not including the mangowere okay, a little bland. Not too spicy. The mango salsa is CRAZY spicy. I didnt expect that at all, so beware. I saw a lot of (jalapeno?seeds in there. Plus, everything gets spicier the older it is.The quesadilla was my fave, but like I said, nothing extraordinary. Lots of similar flavors and textures goin on.
These tacos were amazing! I love Don Joaquins tacos and it didn’t take us long at all to order or get our food. This place was very clean and they are practicing social distancing. I would highly recommend this food! Súper buenísimo tacos authenticos!
For authentic street tacos, this place cant be beat! Kind staff, quick service, and a pleasant atmosphere, all in a very clean restaurant. The food is always piping hot and delicious, not to mention how inexpensive everything is. Highly recommended!
Came for tacoTuesday! Carne asada tacos are 1$ ended up eatting 8! If you love street tacos from the stand then this is your place. Staff was friendly
Great place to go for cheap and quick food. The food is really delicious I like it and it fits a college friendly budget. The service wasn’t the best but it was alright. They have some different and interesting tacos that you wouldn’t be able to find in most places which made things a lot better about this place. I recommend this place.
This place is amazing. Easily the best street tacos in the area and its in a great location. Love to come here for lunch with coworkers or dinner with the family. The salsa bar is pretty good and the meats are all good quality.Make sure you try the gringa, the cheese on top is great.
Wow speechless 😮!! This place make the Best Tacos 🌮 of Utah!! My son love this place and me too😍 everything here is out of this world!!They have a side car topings! Fresh ingredients multiple choice of Sauces 😍 Delicious 💥🔥🙌You love tacos you need to go to Don Joaquin Street Tacos!!
Love this place! Such good tacos. I only have gotten the asada and al pastor. They are sooo good. Good quality meat. Good amount of meat in each taco.Highly recommend!
OVERVIEW - 4.5Came here after our team at work decided this was the place to get Mexican Food, more particularly tacos.LOCATION - 5Theyre found along the busy State Street and depending what direction youre coming from depends on how easy it is to get in to the restaurant.PRICE - 5I found the price reasonable for the quantity of food you receive.PRODUCTS/SERVICES - 4I ordered the Al Pastor Burrito, and that is what I got (at least I think I did, as we came as a group and there was no differentiating between the three other burritos that were ordered, so it was a matter of guessing after unwrapping the burritos). I think that was my biggest complaint is as a group it was difficult to decide what was what. That being said, the burrito was delicious, and considering my tastebuds are incredibly weak when it comes to things spicy, Im pleased to report there was nothing spicy in my burrito.POINTERS/PERKS - N/AThere probably are some, but Im not sure what theyd be.EMPLOYEES - 4Standard quality of employees, just doing their job, didnt seem all that above and beyond. The guy calling out the order numbers would first call out the numbers in English then if no one claimed their order hed call them out in Spanish.
I love this place! I got the $1 chicken tacos (Wednesday’sit was so good they loaded me up! The restaurant was big and had tons of seating! From my perspective the restaurant was clean and the workers were very friendly! I’m excited to try more from their menu!
I heard Don Joaquins opened up in American Fork so I had to go check it out. The staff was polite and nice. The place was extremely clean especially the bathrooms.I ordered 4 Chicken & 4 Carne Asada tacos. The tacos are just as good or better than the Provo location. The salsa bar was fresh. I highly recommend this location for anyone needing a Street Taco fix.
I love traditional authentic tacos, but the gringa style carne Asada tacos were the bomb dot com! Yeah I just 90s complimented those tacos they were so good! Fried cheese on steak on corn tortillas? Did I die and go to heaven? yes!We were just driving around looking for a place to eat and saw this place and said hey tacos sound good! Understatement of the year! Tacos were amazing! The whole place had a nice atmosphere and plenty of places to sit. The food was so good and so cheap! Oh and Thursdays happen to be gringa days so for 2 people we got 8 tacos for $11! I’m pretty sure we robbed this place! I would’ve easily paid more!
