Its been a while since i have been there, Not sure if they are shut permanently. However the food when i visited them in early 2020 was amazing. Ended up having this amazingly plated and tasty dessert along with dosas during the lunch.I would highly recommend visiting it if you are in the vicinity. However not a place i would travel miles for.
Taste of food is different every time I visit. Which is why dont prefer to go there. However only good thing about the place is the Dosa. Its yummy always unlike other dishes.
Ordered it via food delivery app and had to wait for more than 1.5hrs. During this time, 4 Uber drivers changed. Called Dosa Plaza to know the status of the order and instead the lady scolded me for not having patience and not able to wait for 1.5 hrs for food.
The food is quite bad. Ive tried the lunch combo where the curry was too watery. Ive also gone with ala carte items and they werent nice too. The staff are friendly for what its worth. Thanks.
30 Minutes wait for 1 puri bhaji when there are hardly 2 tables in the entire restaurant. Food taste was below average. Went in expecting to have a good meal, couldnt say I had one.
Amazing food and customer service. The Owner/Managers have maintained the place quite well and do care for customers.
The food is average to bad(depends on what you orderand the service levels are pathetic.Be prepared to wait minimum 45 mins to get your food on the table and consider yourself lucky if they get your order right the first time!Make sure to ask for plates, napkins and cutlery because your table will not have them by default !Note to manger/owner behind the cash counter - It is more than okay to leave your spot and help your crew when it gets really busy !! Start by treating people nicely yourself and then maybe ask your staff to do the same as well !!
Food quality is not good at all. Ordered daal and palak paneer, which was tasteless. Pasta had too much sauce in that. Faluda kulfi had ice in that. Overall thought like wastage of money.
Food was decent, nothing to complain about but not wow either. Service was the biggest let down. It takes ages for your order to arrive, we had to wait for almost 1 hour for the soups to be served and then another 15 mins for the mains
Hii everyone. I visited this restaurant for the first time. We went there for the birthday party dinner. We ordered the starter which was okay. Then we ordered the main course which was DOSA.Taking about dosa. I ordered Mysore Dosa. The Dose looked good but when i took my 1st bite, the pateto stuffing inside the dosa was COLD. I even asked my friends about the stuffing in their dosa. All of them were COLD.As soon as i reached home. My stomach started paining and i got FOOD POISON . After some time vomiting got started. It was really a BAD desicion to choose this restaurant.Sorry to say but the name of the restaurant is DOSA PLAZA and the Dosa was COLD.
Terrible Customer Service.I made a booking yesterday with Dosa Plaza, happens to be an occasion for us. We went on time was all good and when it came to sitting they allocated a space which was not comfortable for family of 4 and when asked can we get a better space they said we have to maintain distance and which make sense and we were ok. However to our surprise an non Indian couple came in and without any word they gave those seats to them and later another couple came and gave them all which were suppose to be kept vacant. No ethics and despite being Indian Cuisine they showed racial discrimination. When asked why so - they said they are going to stay just for 30 mins that is why should be fine..Unfortunately Dosa Plaza abide to government norms and ethics until they dont loose on profit, so cheap, we walked off without having our meal and none of the staff even cared. I being vegetarian feel very disappointed to rate it 0.Special mentions to Parineet she was rude and was not even feeling apologetic for her behaviour.
Hey there go back home before try food here.20 days older boiled veg as pavbhaji and black water added some boiled chhole.Literally how do they serve food like this. They might not cook good but at least they had some good food in past. They could at least do comparison what they are serving. One start for kulfi falooda; seemed readymade.
Should have to focus on food quality and handling as well as need to improve customer service. Staff don’t have sense to talk with customer.
The only reason I would give this place a 5 star is coz of Praneeta. She was fantastic. Her customer service was exceptional. She was welcoming and dealt with every guest very politely. The food wasnt that great but she made visiting the place worth it. :-)
Food is ok but cleanliness could be better. There is food on the seating sofa chairs which is not cleaned properly after customer has left. Also, they put glasses upside down on not-so-clean tables to drink water which can be avoided.
The quality of food has degraded very much. I usually dont write reviews, however due to hygiene issues I wanted to express my disappointment when I found a partial broken nail in one of my dishes. It was very dissapointing and unexpected.
Food is ok for the price you pay. It was not busy so we did not have to wait much and the waitress were very nice. My Punjabi friend recommended the Punjabi thali there, however I found it a bit meh (I’m not Indian tho). Deserts on the other hand were yummy, specially the mango kulfi.
Frustated & a Complete waste of 1hr 20 mins time with the service happened yesterday night from 8:30pm. Lady chef is least bothered about people sitting at the tables even though there were 3 Chefs inside. They will be only looked after Deliveroo, Menulog orders not about their own customers. As I saw they gave order for deliveroo pickup with in 3-5 mins. The only mistake I did is not looking after the reviews & the restaurant is not much busy on weekdays still they made waiting. Girls in the reception didnt care & wont even see you. Next to me there were 4 families with kids & 2 of them also was very angry with their service. We just cancelled the orders and went away even we are hungry. Atlast, even No sorry made by any of the reception girls.. Honestly I say dont prefer this place and guys please look after the recent reviews as well while you choose this place.
Terrible experience. Don’t fall for the gluten free vegan advertisement out the front.I asked the young girl for a dish with lots of vegetables ie; broccoli potato pumpkin cauliflower..she pointed to the best one on the menu I ordered it & what arrived was a dish with onion bean and carrot soaked in oil and paste..I could barely stomach took 3 bites and left it there. I paid & walked away in a very bad mood. The staff should know their dishes and not falsely advertise as healthy the majority is cream based and hardly included any vegetables!!
Pros: Dosas are really good. Food is good too. Cons: The customer service and the attitudes to support that is 0. Long waiting time sometimes in excess of an hour with no apology. Not even a sorry. The attitude is " we are doing good for you by serving you food. You are welcome to leave". To summarise, I would say, There are other places which one can go to. The attitudes of the owners is very small money minded approach. they do not have the hospitality attitude.
If you are looking for great indian cusine , this place is the best for it. They serve a variety of indian dishes , especially dosas which are really yummy. Also, the ambience of Dosa Plaza is quite good , which would make you want to come here again and again. Apart from the food, the affordable prizes of all the dishes makes it worth visting to this restaurant.
I bet you will never get your food under 30 mins unless you order drinks or ready made items which will still take 10-15 mins. Food is over-priced according to the quantity and taste is also ok. But sometimes I think inspite of so many reviews being written by people on their restaurant about their service and timing to serve the food, why are they not caring? I think they dont care because there are very few restaurants near by and people who like this cuisine are more, so they might be like irrespective of our service, people will order from here when hungry. I just want to tell them please dont take people for granted because if more restaurants will be available for the same cuisine ,your restaurant wont be able to cope up with their service for sure. At last, I just want to request the manager or owner please look up to your staff and teach them how to serve customers and your chef to hurry a bit.Thanks.
Amazing service, great food and vibe. Kind enough to host us minutes before the closing time as we had just finished work and were really hungry. Loved the experience. Thank you. Will definitely return soon. Cheers!
“Think before you plan something here” food and price are good but in terms of service you can’t imagine how they are. Very poor service and the lady manager or owner she is not responsive and very disappointed. You have to wait at least 40-60 mins what ever restaurant is busy or not and whatever you ordered.
Looking at the restaurant, i had high expectations, but the food was totally rubbish. The onion bhajjis were over fried, the paneer tikka was tasteless. I couldnt even taste the marination. chhole just tasted of chaat masala, and the gajar halwa was Undercooked.Further, on complaining about it to the staff, they just did not care about it at all. She was barely listening. No wonder the restaurant is rated 2.8. If they cared a little about the quality of food rather than the presentation, they could have attracted a little public.Costing exorbitantly doesnt mean the taste is good. Change your management. Change your chefs. Going there was the worst decision.
I came online to write a review about the poor service but seems like i dont need to. Other reviews have made it clear this place doesnt value its quality of service or food. I waited 1 hour and 15 min for my food, i eventually got fed up and went to pay for my drink so I can leave and they refused to let me leave. Told me to wait as the food is "ready". Give this place a miss and just drive to the local indian store and get the cheap packaged food, it will probably taste better and be ready faster.
Worst place to try any dishes. Waited for the order nearly 80 minutes despite we got only on trays after 80 minutes and waited for main course for another 30 minutes. Time spent here was 120 minutes just to get the food on the table. Food is ok but not worth the wait!!
Needs better staff. Nobody responds properly for anything being asked. Not recommended 😏For a coffee n some starters it took them 1.5 hours on a not so peak time. After one hour they come back saying the ordered food is not available shall we give something similar.
Amazing food and service.... Loved the dosas! Worth every penny! If anyone is looking for a perfect vegetarian meal.... This would definitely be your go to place! My experience here was definitely great!
Its a very peaceful place with great relaxing relaxing ambiance. I tried the indo Chinese cuisine and its the best Ive ever had! Loved the desserts! The Royal falooda is amazing! A must try dish.
The worst customer service. I ordered food at around 8.15 pm on Menulog. The delivery time was 9.26pm. The food did not arrive till 9.30, I called up to enquire and was told that the food was not even made as yet. The lady Rohini offered to cancel the order. Suffered a major embarrasment as I has guests at home. NEVER NEVER order food from here. They have the worst customer service. They dont care about you or their commitments. Ultimately after waiting for more than one hour they went ahead and cancelled our order. I have no words to express my anger. I wish I could give them a negative five.
Very bad experience. Waited for more than 60 minutes before served. Food was also of poor quality. Half cooked Hara bhara Kabab and very very sour soup was served that too very late. After complaint, Kabab was replaced but that was worse ! Overall not a place to spend your evening !
Nice place with good interior ,good Costumer service, good food as well I highly recommended to people to visit.
I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone. Even if the world is coming to an end, and this is only restaurant serving food, dont go! Youd rather pick fruits off a tree and survive.Service was real slow, and food just so bad! Also tried the buffet there. I wish I had stayed home and prepared instant noodles rather. They served undercooked rice, a tasteless curry and schezwan sauce disguised as curry. I think I am going to fall sick.
Great place to satisfy your Indian food cravings! The venue is spacious and really nice! Food is tasty and portions are decent! Although the wait time is a bit high. But when you get to taste the food it’s all worth it!
Mostly Indian cuisine, 100 percent vegetarian and most menu items are vegan. The food is tasty. If youre not used to spicy food, definitely opt for mild spice over moderate. The odd thing about this place is each dish you order is brought out one at a time, which can be annoying if you were wanting your eat your meals at the same time as your dining company.
One of best Indo-Chinese food I had in Melbourne.
Food is ok. Creamy palak paneer to go with naan. Prefer my palak to have that spinach taste but this one is sweeter from cream.
A vegan restaurant in Camberwell, dosa plaza has good ambiance with generous space, but the food quality highly disappointed me.We had ordered pani Puri, papdi chaat, masala dosa, Mexican rolls , vegetable platter , chilli garlic noodles and chilli paneer dosa.Papdi chat was the best Among all of these. The potatoes of pani puri were simple boiled and mixed with red chilli powder. The Vegetable platter had 3 vareities, paneer tikka, harabhara kebabs and onion bhajji. The paneer tikka was really good, but the onion bhajji was not cooked properly. They replaced the bhajjis after bringing it to their notice. Even a few of the harabhara kebabs tasted a bit strange but the staff denied of any problems with the harabhara kebab. The chilli Garlic noodles had no flavour of garlic, it was simply noodles mixed with sauce, there werent even enough veggies in it.Same goes for Mexican rolls and chilli paneer dosa as well. They were very average. Most of the foods had too much of red chilli powder to make it spicy. One or two dishes may have problems but here none of the food we had ordered were upto the mark.
Good for Dosa (Simple one not exoticand Sambhar. One of the worst place for any other type of Indian food in Melbourne. Dont every order North India food it does not have any taste. When you try to inform the manager- Her usual reply we make it like this and will give feedback to kitchen.Have seen this place going down over the past year. Reason why it empty is due to service and food quality.
Ridiculous pathetic food.. All dosa tastes the same and moreover it was served cold!! Please dont go.We literally did not eat!!!
We ate here on Easter Sunday evening as a family group of 4 adults and 2 kids and enjoyed the meals we ordered. Nice atmosphere in restaurant, service was prompt. Particularly recommend the mixed entree platter. We dont really know the cuisine in detail so went with dish recommendations from other reviewers (no dosasand pasta and chips for the kids. Serves were generous and dishes were enjoyable.
Very good food, good service, nice ambiance
The buffet was really good value. Food was tasty, fresh and the right temperature. The ambience is warm and inviting and staff are friendly. The no sharing policy even to a kinder child puts a dent in the experience but overall superb place to dine. Been here many times before and will continue for the foreseeable future. We got to dine on a wide variety. Owners are friendly and understanding.
Menu is vegetarian with plenty of choices but prices (compared to similar Dosa eateriesis a little high.Buffet lunch for $9 on weekdays is good value for money with choice of 3 veg curries, rice and papadam along with fresh Roti or Naan (only 1 piece). However, you do not get any salad, raita or dessert.I had Rajma masala, Aloo Gobhi and an Indo-Chinese item on my buffet. Food was mild. They are very strict with kids not to even have papadam from buffet if they havent paid but youve paid for the buffet or will charge them.
Service is not good and waitresses do not seem experienced nor are they helpful. The best part of our meal was the standard entree dishes. The other dishes were very bland and not worth the money. I ordered a coffee with almond milk and was told the coffee machine wasn’t working. I then said not to worry, I’ll just have water. Was then told that it was already in the system so I had to pay for it or choose something else...and then when we went to pay I had to pay extra for the drink I ended up choosing...won’t be returning
Great spot for a vegetarian meal. Open concept , high ceilings in a great neighbourhood. The meal was great . We even got a child seat. Everything looked yummy om the menu.
Prettty bad food. We were 11 of us and we all felt the same most of the food. Ambience is a plus, otherwise thumbs down.
Excellent dosas and South Indian food. Comfy and clean place.
Ridiculous service, not sufficient cutlery provided, mains comes after entree, music is too loud and just random not relevant to restaurants culture, took our order and never served a dish of idli, look at picture of table, no knives were served with dosa, chutney didnt come untill finishing entire dosa.. Just unapologetic staff... Will never go to any dosa plaza ever..
