Have rented summer homes from this realtor several times. Very efficient and reliable.

I have Rented, Purchased and Sold with the Dan Bowersock group for 15+ years.Also provided referrals along the way.The last two years have been a complete disaster. They do not respond and are unaccountable for properties that are in dire need of attention. My rental this year was creepy dirty with complete inattention to detail…outlets did not work, grill rusted out, furniture that was severely stained, bathrooms missing floor tile, marks on walls, vertical blinds that were missing half, internet that was spotty at best and the list goes on ….a complete gross out!! I had the luxury to pay $10,000 for the week and my family vowed never again! I outlined all of this for the Bowersock Group and still have not had a response. We love Avalon, but this group does not deserve anyone’s business, certainly not mine!,

Rented 388 21st St Avalon NJ from Ferguson Dechert. Property was FILTHY!! No help from Ferguson Dechert to be reimbursed for cleaning fee or for the time spent to clean the property!!

I really dont want to leave a negative review as my experiences have mostly been positive when renting and dealing with Ferguson Dechert and Craig Soens but my most recent experience has to be communicated out so that others may be aware.I have been taking my family to Avalon / Stone Harbor now for over 10 years and have been coming off and on to Avalon / Stone Harbor for over 20 years with minimal issues and when something comes up we usually receive assistance or responses in a timely manner however this didnt take place during my recent rental period (7/10-17/21).My family and I rented the location at 3088 First Ave, Avalon, NJ and although it was on the more inexpensive end of the pricing spectrum (although still significant amount of moneywe still expected quality. We were willing to overlook property condition throughout the home due to the historic aspects of the home however this past Thursday (7/15evening I was personally sitting at the table staged in the living / dining area when the overhead hanging light fixture came crashing down onto the table less than six inches from where I was sitting. The heavy ceramic or porcelain light cover that was mounted on the underside of this light smashed upon hitting the table with pieces flying out in every direction.Fortunately, I was the only person sitting at the table at that time and was not directly impacted or I would have been transported to the hospital. Additionally, my 11 year old son was sitting at the table with me less than 5 minutes before the light came down and all week, including that day, my children and niece/nephew were all playing games at that table. I am incredibly thankful that this didnt come down when the children were playing because I dont even want to imagine what would have happened if this directly or indirectly impacted them.Upon further examination we discovered that this light fixture was suspended from a screw-in style hook that was never fastened to a wood beam, only screwed into the ceiling tiles above and the weight finally caused it to give way to a free-fall. This light is not shown in the pictures for the rental listing so this was recently added in by the property owner.Since I, nor anyone else, were significantly injured by this I felt sending an email with pictures (see attached imageswould be sufficient on Thursday evening and would warrant a response back via email and/or phone call however I only received one email response from the Executive Assistant apologizing about the incident, forwarding off my concern to the owners agent and asking if they should send someone down for the broken glass - the glass (ceramic/porcelainwas already cleaned up as we were not just going to leave it there for the children (or adultsto walk all over.My frustration and major problem is that this light fixture came within inches of impacting me which would have undoubtedly sent me to the hospital or could have easily impacted my children who were around this table all day Thursday. This is true homeowner neglect as installing a light fixture with this type of weight should have been properly suspended - it was not!I honestly feel like my family has been treated as dollar signs for the real estate agency instead of a family that dealt with a traumatic experience due to homeowner neglect, my kids were concerned all night that something else was going to fall on them throughout the rest of our stay. Im sure I would have gotten a response if I was in the hospital but since this was a "near-miss" it feels like this was viewed as a no harm no foul situation.I also documented this information on the form provided and included this with the rental keys when we checked out early Saturday morning. Its hard to believe that its Monday afternoon and I have had no real communication over this, almost as if they were more concerned with getting the next tenants into the properties, not sure yet what my next action is going to be on this but I cant let this sit as this was completely unacceptable.

I have used them to rent my condo. Cannot say enough nice things about Andrea and Holly. Attentive to my needs as a landlord and very professional. They took care of everything from finding and screening prospective tenants to finalizing lease and dealing with any issues while apartment was tenant occupied. Andrea and Holly have been absolutely wonderful and I would definitely recommend them.

FD has the worst customer service. As an owner who lists for renting, they put renters in that trash your place, and then blame the owners! They have a switch and bait mentality. They charge you for things never disclosed in the contract or discussed and then call you names when you ask questions. Not only would I never recommend them but they should be investigated for their unethical behaviors.

Had a poor experience with Craig Soens and Ferguson Dechert for my Avalon beach house rental. The house was sold and settlement happened during my stay. We were pestered with phone calls asking for workers to come into the property and even had some show up unannounced. The cable was turned off and utilities (gas and electricattempted to be turned off. This was in addition to being given the wrong keys to the home and having to fight for a replacement bed that went missing when the house was staged for sale. He told me to write and email when I get home detailing all of the issues and then proceeded to do...nothing.

Rented a house through this agency twice and its a smooth experience. From the booking to picking up the keys we were impressed. Keep up the good work!

We have been renting from Ferguson Dechert Real Estate for the past 11 years. We always deal with Holly Rennie and her team of super helpful and gracious not to mention they are people who go out of their way to find exactly what you may be looking for, this group is wonderful to work with. We would highly recommend to friends (have already done so with familythey call Holly or her Assistant Andrea, both have been so helpful in making sure we have stress free vacations every year!!

I rented a house with college friends from FDR through Patti Zeigler/ Craig Soens. Long story short, the toilet did not work for three days and nights- one toilet, 8 people. Not to mention, the refrigerators temperature was way too high for over 24 hours (over 50 degrees). We checked in Friday and no one came to fix these issues until Monday.We did not have a toilet for 3 days and were forced to drive to gas stations, use restaurants and sneak into port-o-potties (which is unsafe and unsanitary). Not to mention, we were treated with little respect and even less consideration. When it was all said and done, I asked for a refund for the 3 days we were out of a functioning bathroom, considering when the plumber finally came he said no one had called him until that day (Monday).I did not get a refund due to the fact that they said the refrigerator was not actually broken, yet someone came to fix it (which is dishonestand we broke a beach chair (which was probably at least 25+ years old and already brokenand a table (dishonest). In my opinion, having a functioning toilet is probably the #1 thing necessary for a rental property, and I would absolutely NEVER have paid my hard earned money to stay at a house without one for even one night, let alone 3.I look forward all year for my week down in Avalon, and this year it was completely ruined by Patti, Allan Dechert, the FDR team and whoever is the owner of 4054 Ocean Drive. I will absolutely never use them again.
