What an experience! I attended Drayton’s for a fortified wine tasting with friends. The host, Rob was very informative. My favourite was the White Chocolate Liqueur. I will definitely be going back.
Highly recommend a fortified tasting, service was friendly and our taster was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Had a fabulous tasting, service was excellent & wines were amazing.
Perfect wines to go with our flowers!
Wonderful place
I had a wonderful time when my friend arranged wine tasting at Drayton’s. Love the atmosphere, the food and the wines. Very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism which you would expect from the oldest winery in the Hunter Valley.
Really lovely winery in the Hunter Valley. I really enjoyed their white chocolate liqueur- it is divine. I will be back for sure. Highly recommended.
We had a ball at Draytons wine tasting. Great wine and fantastic tour of the winery. We will be back next time we are in Pokolbin.
What a wonderful place. If you are looking for a great winery around Pokolbin, then I highly recommend Draytons. Not only the second oldest winery in the Hunter Valley, it is also the best. Great wines and great service. I loved the wine tasting.
Hi I have a bottle of tawny Port its a reg and pam comemritve last batch bottle some on hit me up on price its been in family for over 20 years
Every time I visit the Hunter Valley for some wine tasting, this is my first stop. Worth it for the white tawny alone, not to mention the very spicy Kiss of Fire, highly recommended for chili lovers! If youre a fortified wine drinker like myself (or any kind of wine drinker really), youll find plenty of bottles here that youll want to take home.
Lovely staff, great wines.
We visit this place every time we go to Hunter Valley because we love their Rich Tawny, however it’s always the same awkward feeling when you arrive, as they just want you to walk away as soon as possible. Nope, I won’t recommend this place but I do recommend their ‘Rich Tawny’
Was very good nice wine 🍷 and the muscat was even better
What an absolutely amazing venue! A hidden gem! We attended today during our winery tour. It was our first stop and oh what an impression Daniel made on us, being someone who hasnt actually done anything like this before Daniel definitely left a mark! A great man, with a great personality and a great sense of humour! This was the best vineyard we visited today from our big day of touring 5 different vineyards. Must visit guys! Thank you Daniel.
Wonderful group wine tasting.
We want to send our appreciation to the people at Draytons. We had a problem with the screw top when trying to open a bottle of the Tawny, so I let the company know this in case there was an issue with a batch. We were thrilled to receive 2 bottles of their fantastic product in the mail as a gift. How kind. What wonderful customer service. By the way, the Tawny is superb. Highly recommended.Thank you so much.Sally and Harry
Great place for lunch. The wine tasting with Daniel was fabulous.
The boss was awesome. I was helping my friends get to and from there and he came and spoke to me about kangaroo activity on the roads at night which led me to change the drive home. My friends are super valuable to me and a safe trip home is always my goal.
Came for a tasting and definitely would return! Awesome experience, delicious port and Daniel’s service was both professional and extremely entertaining!
The staff are very knowledgeable. The guy we had pouring our wines was extremely passionate, something you dont always see when wine tasting in The Hunter Valley.I was here as part of a wine tasting tour, so we were here quite early in the day (mid-week)., so it wasnt busy at all, which is what I prefer. We bought a bottle of Jungle Juice, which was relatively cheap considering the size of the bottle. There is an outdoor BBQ area, which we were able to use. All and all, this is a lovely place for wine tasting and lunch.
Outdoor facility with BBQs Great for family picnic. Bring insect repellent though! Nice wines and amazing ports and dessert wines. Recommended this place!
Always a pleasure to visit a well established wonery. The tawny is amazing.
The wine was nice, not quite as good as the other places in the Hunter Valley that weve been. Wines were a bit generic. They specialised in fortified wines. So very strong in ports, liqueurs and marsala. Definitely enjoyed the white chocolate liqueur
I think their service based on the type of people that walks in.Its common thou.
Every time I go they are always helpful. It is a must every time we are in the hunter valley.
Great tasting. Knowledgeable people and a very relaxing place.
Me and 3 friends have just entered the winery at 16:30, which is 30 minutes before the winery shuts. When we entered, there was a guy at the cash register, counting money, we said Hi, are you still doing wine tasting? The guy turned to us and responded yes for 10 minutes very abruptly, which was weird because there was still 30 minutes left until the hour. We then asked how much the wine tasting costs, and without even turning around to face us this time, he carried on what he was doing at the register, and shouted 5 DOLLARSExtremely rude and very unprofessional!
An excellent well run long established winery
On arrival, we had a lovely opportunity to walk around and see what’s available before sitting down to a tasting. The man with the accent was a fantastic host with lots of wild stories about the origins of blue grapes 😂Thank you for a great experience, we will be back!
Went here today exactly for port wine. We visited almost close to 5 pm so pretty happy that we were still accommodated. Charges $5 for tasting but refundable with a bottle purchase. Bought the log press old tawny. Highly recommended!
Great service from Daniel. The only reason we go. He upselled us on a lovely tasty liqueur. From Andrew and Linda.
I enjoy the beautiful lawns and landscape at Draytons together with their amazing wines
Nice place for a lunch or wine tasting. Very friendly staff.
Went to draytons on recommendation and was happily impressed.Happily served and educated by young host on variety and blends.Only reason not for a 5 star, was the limited tasting facility and comfort.Bought Pinot Grigio. An absolute fantastic new addition to the Draytons collection and highly recommended
The good:-Great location- Loads of parking- Free BBQ and picnic spot on the grounds that has cover from sun / rain- nice little cafe- Good range of prices and wines-Delivery options- very old, they gave a bit of history in the hunterThe BAD:- wasnt a big fan of the wines- Cellar door / show room dont have the polished look of other facilities-sales person was pushy / presumptuous
Had my first Wine tasting experience here in a group of about 30 pax. First taste Tawny and it definitely tastes better than port! Hunter blue a.k.a Smurf /blue colored wine is good!
Have been to many wineries in a Hunter region and this place is one of the best. Delicious wines and great service.
Great wine tasting experience!
Was a nice winery on the Hunter Valley wine tasting tour. The wines were good and the service was informative. Clearly the winery is known for their ports.
Cafe was not really worth the 15min drive over dirt road. Food was ok. Charged us $5 for a second plate so we could share a burger for afternoon snack. Just for the cleaning of a plate. What kind of dishwasher do they have?! Their wines seem popular not sure why but try this place at least once.
Fantastic tasting brilliant service! So happy we found this place
Great meals and plenty of variety (rangewines/port
Beautiful scenery. The staff are friendly and very helpful.Good fresh coffee.
One of the best tatsings I have gone to with such amazing knowledge of what they sell as well as a nice little cafe for a light snack.
Have visited 3 times and the service, wines and food is amazing
Stopped here for lunch and a tasting. The staff in the cafe and at the tastings were both very friendly. The food was delicious and so were the wines. They have some very good very reasonably priced wines that I suggest you stop by and try!
Live in the area and keep going back !!!The three cake tasting plate a coffee and a taste of the winesBest value in the valley
Another one of my favourite family run wineries in the area. Here your can get the famous Dr. Jurds Jungle Juice.
Great breakfast cafe. Nicest pancakes ever! So much sugar!
