Dry Creek Trailhead in Boulder County
Privilege
Very clear signs saying dogs should be leashed. Extremely rude people letting their dogs run up to my in training dog. Not even caring that their dog might get bit. I have a cane corso, if my dog decided to bite yours, it might be fatal. How ignorant and rude.
MoreBeautiful, just beautiful.
This park is beautiful! We had a great time!
This place has gone to the dogs! (Literally, and in a good way.A nice loop trail, safely fenced in. Good for off-leash Voice & Site permitted dogs to run free. (See Boulder CO Open Parks & Spaces website for more info on V&S.Open, grassy fields, and in summer, Dry Creek isnt dry. (If you take a dip, we wont judge, but expect company.Compostable poopy bags provided (please keep an eye on your pups and clean up after!), though sometimes they run out after busy days.
MoreLovely open space for dogs to play.
This morning at 10am the conditions were perfect! Packed snow in the trail, no wind, and bright warm sunshine!
MorePerfect place for off-leash dog walking.
Nice off-leash dog park. Great views of the Flatirons and the reservoir. Decent amount of parking.
MoreOne of our favorite trails to walk on and be able to see all the happy dogs!Difficulty: easyTerrain: dirt, flatParking: small lot off a little dirt road with more parking on the dirt roadfees: none
MoreReally easy, pretty nice trail. Lots of dogs
There are signs everywhere that say dogs must be on a leash but no one follows the rules of the trail. So it felt like a dog park with dogs running around off leash.
MoreNice dog friendly trail in East Boulder.
This is such a great off leash dog park. Very nicely fenced in. Highly recommend this if you have a dog you need to work with off leash while training.
MoreIf you are looking for a dog friendly, fenced in, off leash, flat loop trail in Boulder - this is the spot. Excellent views of the Flatirons towering over Baseline reservoir. The bridge that runs over the creek is a great spot for your furry friend to take a dip, cool off, and mingle with other pups.
MoreGreat flat walking area. Parking was hard, but we managed to snag a place. A lot more off leash dogs than I was expecting, but dogs and I loved this trail!
MoreNice hike, its Boulder so its always a packed parking lot.
The one spot you can legally walk alomg the shore of Baseline reservoir, otherwise looks pretty flat. No bicycles! :-( Looks popular for dog walking.
MoreOnly go if you want to be bombarded by off leash dogs and their guardians who absolutely do not have them under voice control. It felt like a dog park, not a trail, and our nervous young dog was overwhelmed the entire time. It was impossible to keep dogs out of her face.
MoreScenic! One has water, lush trees and an easy, walkable trail. Lots of dogs, many off leash...well behaved.
MoreThe trail is very short but scenic. Be prepared to encounter lots of off-leash dogs.
MoreVery doggy friendly. Good for a leisurely walk.
Dry creek is where locals go to walk their dogs ofleash. If you dont like dogs you wont enjoy dry creek. Dogs and dog lovers love it!
MoreGreat place to let licensed dogs of leash!
Awesome place to take a well trained dog off leash on trails by a creek and great views!
MoreGreat for dog lovers. A beautiful walk with great views :-)
Would be much nicer if it were not for poorly behaved, poorly trained dog owners.
MoreGreat trail for dogs and their families.
This is a great place to walk your dog and meet other dog owners and hikers. There is a creek that runs through the park so if your dog is like mine she can get wet and cool down.
MoreFantastic off leash ‘hike’. Even a little stream to dip your pups paws in
I love going hiking there.Thank you
Great place for the dogs to have some fun!
Love this place. Remember, you need a Voice and Sight tag to be off leash. And the off leash area doesnt start at the parking lot, people! Be responsible!
MoreShort and flat hike with amazing views. Great for a quick weekday hike.
Been here a few times. Conveniently located and plenty of trail to run and walk.
Because humans best friends frequent it. A high school friends family donated the land and live near by, so it is special to me.PSimilarly. Ive bern fortunate to bring 3 dogs there over the last 30 years... therefore, its one of my favorite places. Hey E. Boz, what a view, thank you!Hart
MoreI walked here daily while I temporarily lived nearby. Dog friendly. Everyone walked their dogs here and if you walk here without a dog youll likely feel like youre not wearing pants. Nice open vistas of the Flatirons behind Baseline Reservoir.
MoreSuper Cool place to take my dog off leash. Watch out for a place thats fenced in the puppies can still get out!
MoreThis park is one of the best I have seen in boulder area for walking dogs without leash.
MoreI walk with my companion Auggie several times each week at this open space. Its a great place to meet people and for Auggie to run and play with other dogs. He loves it. Hes a hopeless love machine and is happy to play with everyone. Yesterday 11/29/18 Auggie engaged in play with the wrong dogs, who ganged up on him and bit him several times right in front of the dog owners. Two German Shepherds, the lead attacker was a Black Shepherd. Auggie was crying out in pain and I physically had to intervene. The owners just stood there, the woman apologized after I was walking away with my dog hurting but the damage was done. Be aware of taking small children out there and monitor your dogs with who they play with. If dogs like these that are aggressive are allowed off leash, anything can happen.
MoreI love this place! Been bringing dogs Ive had, here for the past 20 years. Its great for letting your dog run and play with other dogs, and you get to walk to! (unlike some dog parks)
MoreThis is a great trail -- very handicap accessible & parts of the trail are heavily wooded so it stays shady all day. Great view of the Flatirons & very clean. Overgrown with some invasive plants like spurge, so not well maintained or managed by the county as far as eco management, but if you dont have knowledge of whats invasive, youll simply enjoy it. -- but educate yourself, this is a great place to become aware of plants that are invasive to Colorado.
MoreThere are beautiful views on this trail, but sadly it seems the trail is only for people with dogs. Nearly all the dogs (we are talking dozenswere off leash. Quite a few jumped up on me and my son (who is scared of dogs). The dogs scared my son so much he asked to never go back to that trail. Such a pity, as the Boulder rules for off leash clearly specify dogs have to follow voice commands, but not many of the dogs we encountered seemed to be listening.
MoreGreat place to take your bored dog. With tags they can be off leash. Theres a creek they can swim in.
MoreThey allow dogs off leash and some dogs arent as well trained as others. For the most part this is a great place to walk your pup.
MoreGreat dog park. Not too stinky :)
Only issue is bags of dog waste on side of trails. Its great that people pick it up and bag it, but go the final step and put the bag in the trash. There are trash and recycle bins at the parking lot entrance.
MoreGreat place to walk the dogs. You do need off leash tags from the city of Boulder though.
MoreDog friendly, not crowded, happy place!
Very nice trail to & along the edge of Baseline Reservoir, easy to make 2-3 miles with the loops at the end
MoreWhat an beautiful trail by the creek with amazing views of the Flatirons.
