I got my hotwater heat pump from Efficiency Maine last year! Love it! Our electric bill was immediately $60 less per month, so now our rooftop solar ( also thanks to Efficiency Maineis generating more electricity than we are consuming.
Efficiency Maines low income hot water pump program has saved our family from being without hot water for a very long while - we are so grateful for the program they have and the whole process was very straightforward. The contractor that they set us up with was so efficient and helpful!
Not actually designed to save a homeowner money. All the work has to be done thru a certified installer who then just increases their rates by the rebate amount. So, the homeowner doesnt save any money, the installer just makes more per job. Cap the price an installer can charge per job and then we will start seeing the savings.
Efficiency Maine Sent me a list of contractors For the low income with 15 Contractors But none of them deal with the low income Rebates Im a first time homeownerThat fixed up an old house Efficiency main acts like theyre helping people But theyre really not Somebody needs to look into this and their list of contractors is BS🙄🤣😂🤣
unfortunately the upfront costs of a hybrid water heater take the efficiency maine rebate and make it almost equal to the cost of a standard water heater. Thus, eliminating any efficiency and savings over the long term. IE: $1600 for a hybrid vs $500 for a traditional. Why bother?
garbage program in league with contractors leaving DIYers in the dust. Sure you can get a rebate but it must be installed by one of their greasy providers costing you triple in the end
My rebate check for our heat pump bounced due to insufficient funds. Not a good look....
Can you help us, sure here is a list , good luck bye
I have been trying to get help with my home with no results. Efficiency Maine gave me phone numbers to call with contractors who does assessments and the actual work. Well I have had no luck. Either these companies dont return your calls or they want this done put of pocket. Well if I could afford it I wouldnt need this program
After initially hearing that we would not be receiving a rebate, we reached out to EM and they were very quick to make sure we did. Thank you!
I would give a zero star if allowed. Bought an Energy Star air purifier, and filled out the Efficiency Maine card it came with. After applying for the rebate, we received a letter stating that there will be no rebate...stating that it is not Energy Star compliant. The carton the purifier came in clearly states "Energy Star". I guess before buying any kind of appliance, get in writing from Efficiency Maine that it qualified for the rebate.
Great rebates on saving energy !
Very simple procedure. My rebate check for a pellet stove arrived fairly quickly. This is exactly what our government should be doing more of.
Had basement insulated by a former provider of Efficiency Maine. No tests done Efficiency Maine wont give rebate or help us get the proper tests done. The provider worked for them at one time and still has their logo on paperwork. Guess Efficiency Maine doesnt care if ELDERLY get ripped off.
The bureaucracy involved with processing paperwork and rebates checks is very discouraging. Expect 8 - 10 weeks for rebate. And they will mail it out to the wrong person. It now operates like a government agency, slow and stupid.
Pretty much one of the best govnt programs ever. Thanks!!!
The folks at Efficiency Maine have been a leader in reducing energy consumption throughout the state. They have done a great job not only with setting priorities, but quality control. Everyone should encourage their legislators to increase funding for this agency, which will enable the private sector to accelerate Maines energy independence and reduced energy costs.
So heres a great program ruined by RED TAPE! We have an LED bulb from GREENLITE that is very affordable, the only stipulation was we had to send our sales data to Greenlite at the end of each month for them to report to Efficiency Maine. Now I just found out that our Corporate Headqaurters has to somehow dial into our system to pull my sales data to send to Greenlite. This is the same data that I provide to Greenlite. Somehow, thats not good enough so they want our Headqaurters in Chicago to dial into our system and pull the same data? And we wonder why our Government cant get anything accomplished:[
