I bought a car I liked from them. However, I had to take the car back not even 3 weeks later and they had to rebuild the entire engine. This was partially due to a manufacturing recall, but no one knew it had this major problem before re-selling it?? It also was sold to me with a tire leak...that no one else had caught either but Belle Tire fixed in 20 minutes.I took it back for a couponed tire rotation and oil change a few months later and they did extra work without authorization and treid to charge me for it until I fought it since I specifically told them not to do anything without prior authorization.*Well, here I am again with an update. I took my car in for service there, hoping my previous experiences were just bad luck. They said they checked and I needed an oil change and new filters, yet I had literally just replaced both not even a week prior. They didnt check it at all and lied saying I needed it.Moral of the story:If you know exactly what you need done, it is safe to go here. If it doesnt HAVE to be done right then, dont do it. Only take your car there for big, important jobs and find a smaller shop for your daily needs.

Best place to buy a vehicle and also trade-in, Worked with sales person Aron , They stayed for me 1 hour more to get my car. Very satisfied with the purchase, anyway though I had to buy nitrogen air package for $1920 , they said it’s on every car. Also Aron ordered 2 nd car key for me on dealership ,that was great.

* 2022 update - while initial purchase went well - note that once you leave the dealership they are not as accommodating. Impossible to reach anyone, calls are not returned. Stood at unassisted front lobby desk tor way too long waiting for someone / anyone to offer assistance - all while watching sales associates mulling about. Customer shouldn’t have to walk throughout sales area seeking help when wanting to purchase a car. Bottom line, customer service is severely lacking - even more so now with changeover to Suburban.2020 Initial post……Great customer service! Made purchasing a car a pleasurable experience. In and out in less time than I anticipated with the car that met my expectations! Overall a great experience!

EDIT:SCAM! RIP OFF! WORST PLACE EVER!!When trying to get my car fixed (which is not possiblethe car should have been sold for about $5000-$6000retail in the condition it is in. I was charged about 2.5 that amount. You do the math. They knowingly overcharged and ripped me off.I am extremely disappointed. It’s sad that car salesman and dealerships value making money off of people rather than treating them well. As a recent graduate that worked very hard to save up and buy my first car this was the worst case scenario. I bought the car and about a month later it is Undriveable. So there went all my hard work, money, and way to work. It is so unfortunate that these things have to happen. Putting styrofoam under the passenger seat to “fix” something… why… The car basically needs a new engine among many other things… but hey at least it had newish tires…

The salesman, Elias, is a great guy. The place itself has gone downhill since Suburban took over. They are shady & sneaky - tricking me into purchasing exterior and interior protection and marking up financing while saying they don’t. The leadership doesn’t care about the customers and will happily pull a special order out from under you and mark it up if they get the chance. Sadly, the salespeople are along for the ride, since Suburban Ford took over.

My service was phenomenal. I was able to make an appointment online for Monday, only 2 business days out. I was able to drop off on Sunday using after hours service and then I worked with service advisor via text. I loved the convenience, as well as all the services were done in one day... WOW! Drove an hr to look at a car. They even texted me asking what time i would be there so they can have the car pulled up. Get here and they didnt even know i was coming and the car was sold a few days prior. If it sold a few days prior shouldnt of been removed from there website. I get if it was sold same day. But they were quick to say we have other ones... more expensive.. might be a case of bate and switch.

I bought a nice car from them, its not brand new it is used but oh goodness does it work great! It drives awesome I took it to my mechanic and he stated there was nothing he can complain about, everything was replaced/brand new and the car was very well taken care of! I love my new car! My husband was with me when I bought my car and we were helped by Steve and he was super friendly and super helpful! He made our buying experience awesome! I definitely recommend this location and Steve!

I have been a loyal customer for service at Elder Ford of Troy for several years and have always been totally satisfied. I had collision work done there also with excellent service. Up until Covid world began, they have always provided a shuttle service to take me home and pick me up when service time was longer. Now was told that they would not be brining back this service. Very disappointing as I have no way to get back and forth from the dealer. Also I have a tire that has been losing air for going on three weeks and every time I stop in or call I am told that wait time for them to look at the tire would be two to three hours or more. Guess I will have to look to another Ford dealer for service. I have never experienced this type of service from this dealer before. The staff has always been friendly but with no shuttle and these kind of wait times I cannot deal with this service. Just realized that this dealership is now part of Suburban Ford and no longer Elder Ford. Maybe that is the difference.

I ordered a hitch for my car.When I realized I way overpaid I went to return it. Gary in parts informed me it was a special order and would be 20%To return. Around 200. I feel like Ive been swindled. I am on SS and that was a big hit to someone on a fixed income.AND I BOUGHT MY CAR AT SUBURBAN.Thanks suburban. Sleep well

Elder Ford is the reason Dealerships are going extinct to online car buying. We were not treated as if our time mattered we drove 4 hrs to buy a vehicle and were at the dealership for almost 5 hrs. They knew we still had a 4 hr drive home. We were told the the price of the vehicle would be lowered by $500 dollars by the manager Gus, We were also told the bogus $388 cleaning fee would be removed. It was almost 1 pm and our salesman said the finance manager would be ready at 2pm for us so we went and had lunch, upon return we still had to wait over 2 hours for the finance to have our paperwork ready, That is probably because he was to busy in his office hitting his vape pen. By this time we were tired and ready to go, They had us electronic sign before we saw the final paperwork, that could be on us for not demanding it. They ended up not removing the cleaning fee nor lowering the purchase price by the $500 dollars. This dealership are liars and does shady business and treats paying customers poorly, we will be reporting to the better business bureau on Monday. This was a 33k vehicle.

I took my Escape in for an oil change and was quoted a time of 2.5 hours. Ok, I didnt like that but that is fine. After waiting 2.5 hours I went to the desk to ask about my car. They told me it would be another 1.5 hours. What? Nobody told me during the 2.5 hours that my oil change was actually going to take 4 hours. I had one rare day off to get my car checked and the service team at the desk didnt care one bit. I reiterated that I was told 2.5 hours and the guy said "I told you it would be at least 2.5 hours", as if 2.5 hours and 4 hours were remotely close. Im absolutely furious and the guy starts giving me excuses about a guy calling in, like any customer wants to hear anything about that after wasting a precious day off. Another guy came over and told me to have a great day. This guy was basically telling me to leave. I said I will never be back or purchase another car from Elder Ford again and he shrugged and said have a great day. I am disgusted by the entire experience. Im highly discouraging my entire network to avoid Elder Ford at all costs. Have a great day.

What a nightmare this place turned out to be.My Ford Focus had some transmission issues that led me to having to take my car to Elder Ford. They were the only place locally that had a transmission person I I had to go there. It was at least 2 weeks before someone could look at my car and then it took some more time to get the parts and installed.During this time Elder Ford didn’t have or offer any loaner cars or cover rental cars (even though other dealers like Dean Sellers had loaner cars). I went for a month without my car or any kind of car, which is not easy in Metro-Detroit.I finally got my car back on 5/11/2022. On Saturday 5/14/2022 (today), I went to pick up my 5 year old nephew. When I got to his house and loaded him in my car, I tried to start it and it didn’t start. Nothing. No matter how many times I tried. My brother in law looked at the transmission and saw that the nut that connects to the ground wire was gone and said that it wasn’t locked in when the transmission was installed and fell out while I was driving to his house.This is just an ongoing nightmare that I hope other people avoid or don’t have to deal with.William is nice and helpful as he can be (considering he’s stuck within the boundaries of this companyand is the only reason I added a second star.

Purchased a used vehicle. Pretty much sold myself the car. Salesman was fine. Finance guy is asleep at the wheel. Dont expect your paperwork to be filed in any reasonable amount of time.

At first, I communicated by email that I was interested in the vehicle well after regular business hours. I received an email within a few seconds, and it asked about my preferred mode of communication. Of course, I replied, and in a few minutes, they said they would have someone contact me in the morning. They called the following day and finalized the deal in two days of communication, and I flew to Detroit two days later to pick up the vehicle. When I landed, they had someone pick me up and within an hour signed all documents and head home. It was the smoothest time I have ever had purchasing a vehicle.

Attempted to get some safety recalls in, was told the earliest was Wednesday or Thursday of the following week but they would need me vehicle for 24-48 hrs. I attempted to push the appointment out further to not lose my vehicle for 2 days with no loaners available. I asked the service advisor Chris what the time allowances were for the repairs and was told that is it irrelevant that I’d still have to leave my vehicle for 24-48hrs.Chris ended up telling me to take the vehicle where I bought it from and hung up.

First I want to say I really love my Ford Bronco Sport. That said, the experience at this dealership could have gone better. Its been a week and I have no registration or paperwork if any kind (I thought it was in an envelope I was given when I left but it was not. I guess thats on me for not looking). Ive contacted the salesman several times but pretty much get no response other than to say "it should come tomorrow". I truly feel like since I didnt finance this vehicle, they lost a bit of interest in my purchase once they found out they wouldnt make any money thru financing. All I want out of them now is my paperwork. Not knocking Ford as a company, and as I said, I love the Bronco. Just maybe choose a different dealership.

Thank you Elder Ford for helping us while passing through Michigan while on tour. Our 2015 Ford Transit 350 HD was leaking diesel fuel from the metal fuel line inside the engine, causing diesel fumes to enter the cab. This was making us dizzy and nauseous. Not only did this pose as a health risk, but also a fire risk. Elder Ford was the 4th Ford Dealer in the area we contacted and/or visited to get help due to this emergency situation. All the other dealers including Varsity Ford and Bill Brown Ford refused to help us or even take a quick look at the problem. They all seemed more concerned with maintenance appointments than helping someone in a dangerous situation. For this reason alone I would only give Elder Ford your business in this area for all your sales and service needs. These people truly have compassion and care about their customers. They fixed our fuel line and also found our fuel filter desperately needed to be changed. Due to the last shop we had it in for this service failing to replace our fuel filter, when they said they did it! This is why you should only do business with honest shops like Elder Ford!5 stars!!!

Absolutely terrible service. Bought a used car for $17,000. Not even 3 months later, broke down with multiple problems. Had to have it towed to a local dealer where my son is at college. When got it checked out, needed a new starter because the bolt was not properly tied down. Have premium care, which is a $200 deductible. When I called and said that I should not have to pay $200 after only 3 month ownership, was told that if I had brought it in their service department would have taken a look at it and then we could have "worked it out". When I told them it would have cost be $920 to have it towed to them, the only response I got was " Yeah, that sounds about right". So they expected me to pay $920 to have it towed to their shop in order to "possibly" save $200 deductible. I will be filing a complaint with multiple agencies.

We purchased a 2021 Ford F150 Limited from Elder Ford of Troy for 77K. Was promised a second key fob but the dealer has failed to provide one after repeated contacts with the salesman. Since we live several states away its difficult to get any actionable help from them. Yes its only $300 but its the details that make the difference. If they are willing to forget about this detail what might they let slip on your next purchase with them? Think twice before you make your next purchase. Big disappointment!

I have given this rating because the customer service provided was average, I had both a very positive interaction as well as a negative one. As far as the vehicle itself I do suggest having a private mechanic inspect the vehicle prior to purchase, they do convince you that there has been an inspection completed and also provide car fax but in less than 100 miles I experienced some seemingly significant front end issue (did text drive while at the sale location). Also 5 days later my add break fluid and service break system came on. Less than a week of having the car with minimal commute. I will update my review once I have completed diagnostics on the cars issues. Car was priced with no room for negotiation and I did provide $2500 down. I am mostly disappointed that I purchased a $10000 vehicle and have to take it in for repairs less than two days later! I suggest extensive investigation on the vehicle, diagnostics, mechanic inspection and test driving!

Had my truck fixed there 2 years ago. They were excellent but I had a friend of a friend that worked there. Fast forward to last month. I no longer have a friend of a friend, and the wife crashes her car. I tried for 3 days to get someone on the phone. Their phone number just sends you in a constant loop, and if you make it to the body shop, you get a voice-mail. I thought, is this really what I want to go through everytime I have a simple question while car is in the shop? No, its not Im too busy and thats too inconvenient. I dare the owner to try the number provided on Google for the body shop, have fun! Your losing business. It was a 10k fix. Wonder how many of those you lost. Sent it to Bill brown ford, excellent service and easy to get someone on the phone!

This review is for the service department. I requested two back-to-back appointments for "The Works" package through Google messenger and received a response within five minutes. It was very fast and easy to use. I dropped the first car off after hours.The first car was done by 7:45 am (that fast!!and I received a text and voice mail from Bobby. I dropped off the second car by 8:30 am. For the second car, its 15+ years old, so it also needed a new serpent belt, air filter and tire valve stem, which I approved (~$200).Three things that made this a great experience. 1). I didnt have to pay in between vehicle service; I drove my first car home and waited for the second car to be done before paying for both. Ive owned two vehicles for 20+ years and always get them serviced at the same time and this was a nice convenience. 2). I didnt have to ask for my car to get washed. They went ahead and did it. Ive noticed in the last five years, you have to ask for the car wash and its no longer customary. 3). Real-time text updates and immediate responses from Bobby. He was very straightforward and easy to work with.

All I can say is THANK YOU Elias. I love the new F150. I came in for service on my fusion and drove out with a new truck. Elias got me out of my lease early and did all the needed paperwork. I was there for about 2 hours for the entire process. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The selection is vast and I found what I wanted in minutes.My wife and I are customers for life.
