Elijah's Cafe in Jasper County

Food was not hot, chicken fried steak had no seasoning very bland and tasted like the meat was boiled with lousiana hot sauce. Okra tasted like it was fried day before. Four adults ate and all of us said the same about the food. When asked to warm up food took waitress a awhile to bring it back seeing it was ready again to be delivered.

Food was ok, not very good.

But they was out of Peach 🍑 cobbler our reason for making the drive from Leesville La. But we do enjoy their food.

The food was lukewarm. We ordered our drinks and waited. We were told we would get rolls and cornbread when she brought the drinks. We both ordered meatloaf. We waited almost 30 minutes for food and still didnt rolls. Asked again 3rd time. The rolls were almost burned and hard. The two times before when I ate there the food was lukewarm. 3 times and you are out.

Clean and the food was good along with the service considering we showed up 30 minutes before closing. They were very polite

The food is delicious. I am partial to the Trailblazer with red beans and rice and squash casserole sides are my favorites. Service is awesome too!

I called just before closing time on a Sunday in hopes that it wouldn’t be a problem as I was ordering the fish… I received a warm welcome on the phone and was pleasantly surprised to hear that it was no problem at all. I was even thanked for my order. The food was great! Hot, fresh and tasty… The menus is reasonably priced and the the food is well worth it. They were out of baked potatoes for the night but was offered a substitution of loaded mashed potatoes that were every bit as satisfying. Dominik was very polite and cheerful and I can tell he is the right person for the job… I honestly can say that it would not surprise me if he isn’t in a management position if he were to pursue it. When I arrived the parking lot was empty and I could only see Dominik and one other individual inside. That didn’t seem to affect my service though. Dominik was just as pleasant as he was on the phone and very polite. Service with a smile!!! Elijah’s in Kirbyville in now my number 1 go to restaurant for take out. Y’all made a great first impression on me and I really appreciate that very much… Shout out to Dominik for his professionalism and work ethic. Keep up the fantastic work guys… I will see you soon…

The food was pretty good other than the fact that the chicken spaghetti came out at room temp. Not sure if that was intentional or not but I was expecting hot food. The staff was very attentive and friendly, Id go back for sure.

Since moving into the bigger building, everything has went downhill. Food & service are a 1 star because i theres no option for no stars

Service was so slow. Waiter never checked on us. Never brought my friend her chicken and dumplings for her to take home. They are usually better than this.

Good prices and good food. It has home style food served piping...warmish. We have tried it twice and it was the same both times. The service is friendly and worthy of a nice tip, but the food doesnt live up to the atmosphere of the restaurant. I wouldnt refuse to go again but it wouldnt be my choice.

4 tables in the whole place with people in them. Got left sitting for 20 minutes with no acknowledgement at all after being seated tables were dirty also

Service was slow, and the place was not crowded. The food was mostly edible but nothing to write home about. Except for the carrots, which tasted like disinfectant. According to my family members who took me there, it is typically better.

We were close, so we decided to do lunch at Elijahs. I chose to get the Wednesday Special which was Chicken Pot Pie with sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. My wife opted for the Meat Loaf with sides of Baked Squash Casserole and a salad. The Chicken Pot Pie was way better than I expected!!! It came baked in its own dish, I was expecting a portion out of a casserole dish. No, it was baked in its own bowl and it was a good portion and very good!!! Loved it. My wifes Meat Loaf came as a very good sized slice that she said was very good!!! Our waiter was on top of everything from getting our orders and getting our food out very quickly! We had iced tea for our drinks. We really enjoyed our lunch.

A delightful place to eat. A different special every day. My favorite used to be the meatloaf. But they have obviously changed cooks over a year ago and they changed the meatloaf. It went from moist to dry, a thick tomato chunk topping to watered down tomato chunks, and the portion shank to maybe 1/2 what it was. We love the idea of rolls and cornbread, however I think the rolls are left under the light too long as they are often hard. The carrots are the best when the cook doesnt rush them so that theyre tender. A favorite of many is the Trail Blaze dinner. The Chicken Fried Steak dinner is good. And the sweet tea is awesome.

The food is usually always good and so is the wait staff, but tonight the wait staff was more worried about other things instead of seating the customers at the door. Overall I love it here.

well just bought food form there fish plates the food was nasty taste so old.. the grilled fishplare was nasty it come with greasy nasty rice that didnt even ask for taste like dirt the coconut pie was not even coconut on it was more thrown to together slop.I will not eat there again. $58.00 slop no no

Ordered the crispy fish with loaded baked potato. The fish was overcooked and there wasnt a baked potato.The double meat.... Double cheese burger was good, but the french fries were old and soggy.Very disappointed.

Great food and service! Elijahs is a good, down home family cooking type restaurant. Portions are fair sized. I think the Jasper location is the best but all are good.

Atmosphere is nice. Prices are reasonable. The daily lunch specials are hearty and very filling. Their burgers are really good. I recommend the grilled catfish. YUM!

Service was excellent, our waiter was very polite and very attentive. The food however, it did not live up to the standards Elijahs has set for itself. The fried pickles seemed more grease than pickle, the chicken fried steak was bland while the breading was kinda mushy. Hoping it was just an off day for the cook

I had a delicious Philly cheese steak. Getting good service during a pandemic seems to be a rare event, but I had a wonderful server who efficiently took care of us with a smile in her eyes, that could be seen despite her mask. Thank you Elijahs Cafe for a very pleasant lunch! I really appreciated the tea "to go"!

Friendly Staff, Good Food, Great Prices & Portions. You will not be disappointed in trying this place out. It has a nice atmosphere and its always clean to boot.

Chicken tenders hot out of the grease with white gravy, cooked carrots, red beans and rice, and cinnamon apples! Fantabulous! Kirbyville location, dont pass it up. I was riding a motorcycle so I couldnt bring no white gravy home! 😁

Im Visiting from Las vegas and they have very friendly staff and Wonderful customer service. Very clean establishment as well, neat and orderly! Also had the best Carmel Frappuccino with 4 espresso shots and almond milk also with non dairy whipped cream and it was fantastic! Very (yummyStarbucks definitely has competition lol thank you for my morning (get me upcoffee 😁

Im Not from around the area. This is place with great food! Chicken fried chicken and the Tilapia taste very good!Down side is the time it tales to get your food. Worth the waiting time! 4.5 out of 5

I stop ordering from kirbyville Elijahs because the food was never cooked right. I went thur the drive thur yesterday and ordered a hamburger got home and the patty was so hard on the sides and not cooked all the way in the inside the bread was dry and the cornbread and rolls you can tell have been out for a while they were hard and uneatable. This was my last time to give them a chance. Im done. Im tired of paying money and to get food my 4 year old can cook . So disappointed

On a togo order of a sampler, 2 burger specials, one corndog kids meal, a Texas brownie and 2 bread puddings the only thing good were the 2 burgers but neither one of them included the mayo we asked for. So disappointed.

They have delicious homemade meals for lunch and dinner. Meatloaf, chicken fried steak, chicken and dumplings and chicken strips are a few of our favorites. Vegetables and desserts are all yummy too, especially their cobblers. We love eating in Jasper, Kirbyville and Woodville restaurants. Staff is so nice and can make recommendations plus offer a sample to try before ordered vegetables.

New location, same great food!!!!The absolute best chicken and dumplings! Staff could be friendlier. Food is delicious, large portions. Great southern cuisine.

I wasnt going to leave a rating but that seems the only way to leave a comment on my experience. Where to start... Well Ill start with being sat. Waitress was friendly and eager to serve my husband and I. I noticed after taking our drink order she was " stuck" seating table after table of customers coming in. No other server to be seen. After seating several tables, I noticed the other servers appeared and had their tables drinks and bread baskets out. Meanwhile we still havent gotten our drinks and bread due to our server continuously sitting more customers. At this point which was about 20 mins of waiting after placing drink order, we were ready to leave. Here come another server to ask if we had our drink order as our server walked up with our drinks. We proceed to order our food my husband grilled chicken sandwich with bacon cheese grilled onions and mayo only. Me 10 oz ribeye medium rare comes with salad. I gave my salad to my husband and ordered baked potato and steam veggies. Husband food made wrong, they left grilled onions off chicken was saltier that a horses salt block ( my husband loves saltfries were old and over salted. My steak was well done, carrots in the steamed veggies was raw. I sent my $15.99 steak back to have it remade. I dont usually complain, but tonights experience along with the last few recent experiences definitely makes me reconsider eating at your establishment again. Thanks to the manager on staff he listened to our complaints and accommodated for the unpleasant experience.

I dont usely make this but, went in there today and I will not be going back. I used to love this place but when you send an order back you might as well get up and leave, cause they will not serve you no more. Waited for drinks and wanted to place a dessert order, the waiter just looked at us and walked away. When the food is raw and not cooked this place have went down hill new upgrade is a front on the service you get. NO TIP LEFT but HERE IS A TIP Whoever runs this place need to get there staff in check.Jennys fried chicken is a better place anyways.

Weve visited Elijas in Jasper, but this was the first time we ate at the Kirbyville location.From the time we walked in, just ahead of the lunch rush, our waitress, Karen, was very friendly, helpful and attentive -without being overly aggressive or imposing. She is a gem.My wife ordered the grilled catfish with okra and squash salad. She loved it ... cleaned her plate.Her friend got the pot roast with red beans and rice, as well as the fried apples. Again, she loved it. She ate everything.I got the veggie plate. Five veggies. They were all delicious, but I was unable to clean my plate. 🙄 The portions were good and, frankly, more than I could eat. I got no dessert.They had a slice of coconut pie. Obviously it was also amazing.Priced very reasonable, I would recommend Elijas to anyone looking for good homestyle food.

This is good place to eat. The portion and price are decent. The service is excellent. The parking is limited especially when its busy. However, the food and atmosphere make up for any inconveniences. Try the pot roast, it will make you think your Grandma made it.

Food was good, however the cook made 2 of our plates wrong. We ordered onion rings and got French fries. Ordered carrots and got green beans. The Philly cheese sandwich, the cheese was not melted and the meat on it was only dry and barely had any meat. Dont think we will be back.

First time my family and I ate there and it wasnt the best experience. The service was very slow and we were even disappointed when the food came, even the butter didnt have flavor. The pot roast was good though. The waitress was not good, played on her phone instead of caring for her tables. We were excited but now we dont think we will be going back.
