Really nice place but stores are 30-40 min away thats the down fall but the rooms are ok big place AC doesnt work

I come every year because of how nice it is here

Excellent place to relax with very wonderful, friendly and caring staff.

The staff was very accommodating and easy to interact with. The new activity center was great, with afterhours access for guests, and free laundry machines. The rooms were somewhat dated in decor, but were quite comfortable, and Id love to return and spend more time exploring the area.

Nice resort but it is too far from everything. Had a nice barbecue in the middle of the week. The lady at the office is very friendly and helpful

The staff was amazing! Georgia and Tyler at the check-in/front desk were polite, warm and welcoming. I had a minor issue with central air and the maintenance department was on top of the issue. Dave was the one who assisted us and he was very helpful and resolved the issue, quickly. I highly recommend.

We stayed here for a ski trip we had with some friends. This resort was very appealing. It has large condos to rent. Downstairs there are 2 bedroom each connected to a bathroom with a shower. There is a large jacuzzi tub with a sauna that comfortably fits 2 people. Upstairs is a large living area/dining room, full kitchen, and a bathroom. Each unit from what I saw has a deck outback. The units were large and a little dated. My biggest issues with our stay and why I gave it 3 stars is, its advertised as having a heated pool. Its more like a pool in a heated room, the water was not warm and in the photo online it appears there is a hot tub but it is not its just an extension to the pool and the same temp also no jets. My other issue is even though it could have been because it was about 6 degrees the day we were there, our unit would not go above 62 degrees so it was chilly. The fireplace helped some but there are faults ceilings so heat rises. The jacuzzi after about 10 minutes of running it started getting a gross film in it and I showered before hand so it wasnt dirt. We also found there was limited hot water. Service was very friendly. All in all we would go back but wont go out of our way to.

This place is a little dated but we enjoyed our stay none the less.

Visiting family. Looked to be a nice place to stay. With entertainment areas being put in.

They dont update their amenities pool its been closed house keeping not the best

Great getaway from the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery of the mountains. My husband and I enjoyed the jacuzzi sauna and fireplace. WiFi was doable. Late check-in was so easy. Roads and pathways were constantly cleaned from the snow for easy travel. Adequate heat. If you have children but dont want to spend extra money, there are plenty of outside activities for them. From the parks to outdoor games to bong fires to sledding. Unfortunately the rec center/game room and indoor pool was burnt down. But there were plenty of other activities to keep the kids busy. If you dont have children, the quietness is so appreciated.

Went up there from Long Island to go ATV riding. It was peaceful and all the people that we encountered were very friendly. The rails to trails ATV trails were great. Wish we had something like that back on Long Island

ITS WAS VERY HOMELY AND QUITE...REAL OLD LIKE..STAFF WAS EXCELLENT....CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL SCENERY WAS REFRESHING FOR THE MIND AND SOUL....REAL OLD SCHOOL LOOK FOR FAMILY

This is one of the worst resorts Ive been to. After I got there with four young children they then told me that the pool and hot tub and the game room was not open. I also had an extreme large mud area right in front of my walkway, three wasp nest on the back deck. The last thing was No TV in the master bedroom. Never Again !!

Cool spot to get away. They don’t have no pool or too many activity’s for the kids. Unlike the website it says pool and other activities but it’s false advertisement. Go figure. Be aware before u book. Management will still not update the website just to pull in bookings under FALSE PRETENSE.

No pool. They said its under renovation for the last 5 years SMH. website is very misleading. This place promotes deceptive practicing. Room ok. No napkins or paper towels. Buy some. Every thing else is ok.

Friendly staff, dated property.We went skiing to the Elk Ski Resort and it was the closest place to stay if not renting a bigger property.The place is OK-ish, although it is very dated on the interior carpeting and things like old doors hardware, bathrooms and such.Still, for the place in 5 minutes drive from Elk Ski, it was good.You are not trying to rent a 5-star hotel next to the one of the oldest ski resorts in the PA back-country, are you... if yes, then you are wrong not on the hotel rating, but on the place you go in the first place.Its OK and we might consider coming back there if we go to Elk Ski again in a small company.

Ive been to my fair share of internment camps but this resort takes it to a new extreme.As I spent my first night I thought Id have a try at the indoor sauna, biggest mistake of my life. I activated the steam and for the first few minutes it was a grand time. Then the propane leaked and began to fill the sauna room with gas. In my attempt to flee the room the door knob to the sauna was broken and I was trapped inside, the room became a gas chamber!This place being in a remote mountain, there is no signal and the wifi was out for all of our stay making my attempts to call for help on deaf ears. As I lay gassed out on the floor of the sauna room that was still filling with steam and gas a friend was able to free me in the last second and undo the door handle. After shutting off the valve and airing out I went to bathe in the jacuzzi. This jacuzzi was branded by the one and only Lochead Martin, and upon activating the jets the water flew all over the room, rapidly changing for scorching hot to freezing cold.The next day we still needed to make food so we fired up the oven, after the meal was done and turning off the oven it remained "on" out of our control. We needed to unplug the oven from the wall to stop the heat. The propane heater served no better as it would randomly shut off and freeze us in the night with no hope of restarting until morning.During out time with the showers that have no privacy and broken water system, we began to notice a barking sound come out of the fridge and a loud banging from the dish washer that remained until the end of the trip. This mixed with the mixture of fecal matter and some ejaculatory discharge on the matress we discovered with a UV light it makes a clear no return for us in the future.Avoid this recreation of the Holodomor at all costs!

We booked this place online and then about 2 week before we were going to show up they called and said the pool was not quite ready because it was being fixed. That was a huge lie. A bait and switch! When we got there we talked to long term guests and found out the roof over the pool was damaged with a heavy snow load last winter and they were no where close to having this repaired. We visited 9 months later. So they told us there was a nearby lake that we could visit. Not quite the same and having to drive 30 min. This left my kids with the tennis court and mini golf and nothing else. The horses were there but no one to give rides. The rooms were large and lots of bathrooms. The restaurant on site was closed forever. To me it felt like it was a resort in free fall decline. If you want to sit and do nothing with very terrible wifi that never quite worked properly and look at beautiful mountains go there. If you have kids bring your own entertainment and be ready to drive a lot to get to decent water parks and other entertainment.

Ive been going here for as long as I can remember. Its a great place for families and a home away from home for us! There is a picnic every Wednesday for guests and an indoor pool and rec center. Jacuzzi and sauna in every unit. Very clean. The sweetest staff ever! I highly reccomend this place for a relaxing getaway.

It was alright, we enjoyed it. But it would have been much better if the pool was operational, and if the horseback riding was trial was operating, hopefully next year it will be better.

It is a quiet rural area beautiful mountains nearby. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a quiet vacation spot

The facilities are older and while are maintained could use some TLC. They are not evenly furnished. Some units have a pull out sofa some do not. The units do have all the extras you would expect for a typical ski lodge like sauna and whirlpool tub. They are clean but not spotless. Definately showing their wear. Rating is based on all aspects. Plus is, everything works. Stayed here twice a few years apart and no noticeable change. Expect a well worn comfortable time. Not for those who cant fend for, or take cake of, themselves. 5 star boomers, 3 star yuppies. Millennials wouldnt be happy at all,,, but when are they.

A bit outdated. Everything at our unit worked fine . Heat worked amazing. People at the office were real nice. The pool needs some tlc , and hot tub was broke .

This is a very peaceful quiet place. They have horseback riding, volley ball, bad mitten, basketball and miniature golf.

Original owner ran off with the money to finish building the other amenities, nowhere to go nearby unless its ski season. Furniture & dacor is outdated, in need of repairs and they are taking away more from the homes like the 2nd tv downstairs.

Quiet place, very good for a stay with kids or as couple. Nice Inside pool.

A country escape! Gorgeous views, friendly staff, horseback riding, and truly an escape from the crazy world. Hiking trails, mini-golf, indoor pool. Everything you need and plenty of adventure.

Somewhat Spartan, definitely not high end luxury. Sleeps 6, full kitchen. Hot tub jets somewhat weak. Sauna did not achieve full heat, but maybe by design during summer. Scale of 1-10, I rate it a 7.

Overall our stay was ok. Very remote, took 20-30 minutes to get to highway. The bathrooms, kitchen and beds were clean. Showers were updated. Several areas could use updates - exterior of the building, carpets, pots & pans, cookware. The jacuzzi spewed black bits when we first turned it onIm assuming it hadnt been used in a while and mold had settled in the hoses.The swimming pool didnt feel heated, as advertised, and needed updating - water was clean, but perimeter of lining was black (mold?), steps needed painting, and area around pool was covered with plastic squares (maybe to hide needed repair?that were scrungy looking. Im a pool person and would have loved to have gone swimming, but was turned off by this. The hot tub in the pool area was being repair that week. Never saw anyone working on it, have a feeling it has been like that for a while, with no intention of repair. The work out area was not air-conditioned, very hot and stuffy.Loved the horseback riding right on the property! My kids went, the instructor was incredibly nice!It was ok for the one week we were here, but I dont think I would stay here again.

Atrended an outdoor event. Grounds were well maintained. Roadway had some rough patches though

In desperate need of upgrades. They are slowly making repairs, but to be a good RCI resort they need to do better than make repairs. Pool area is bad. Accommodations were just okay. Really bad cooking odors, carpets need replacing, hot water in shower almost impossible to regulate, screen door ajar, a/c noisy. On the good side, spacious, sauna, nice adjacent restaurant (although it appears that they are applying to turn it in to a rehab facility).

The split level cabin my parents and I stayed in was awesome! Very clean and very accommodating. Staff was very kind and courtous. Little touches like a room purifying salt lamp, or individual thermostats made our stay very comfortable. WiFi worked great, especially in the mountains. So many activities! Just hit up a grocery store beforehand. Cant wait to go again!!!! :)

Theres a sauna inside the unit, a whirlpool bath, fireplace, a great getaway if you want to be left alone. The kitchen stove & refrigerator needs to be updated, but they do the job . Other than that Id do a return.

We were having a good time at the pool, when a lady came and yelled it was time to go, and the hours were clearly marked on the door, very rudely!!!! My son had wash going in the washer and she didnt care, she said he would have to get it tomorrow, even though all his clothes were in there! Unbelievable!!!!

Attentive staff, clean, but old/dated (squeaky floorsunits. Decent amenities. Ok kitchen. 4 min to slopes. Would stay here again.

I have to say after reading some of the reviews, I was a little nervous. Have to say we were pleasantly surprised. There are 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 kids (under 14). Yes, the resort is dated. But it is clean, spacious, and convenient. Much better and roomier than staying in a hotel suite, etc. Also, staff is very friendly and helpful. Resort is close to Elk Mountain, about a 2 mile ride.Tip, be prepared to bring your own food. Very glad we did, not much around. So if you dont pack, you may be stuck driving around for something to eat.Only reason I am not giving 5 starts is because of the age and a few little minor things.

Cozy, quiet, and comfortable. A short drive to the ski resort. Recommended for families or groups of friends.

The atmosphere is incredible! It is a bit older and the wifi goes out frequently, but its a great place to escape and relax.

We have been going here for 34 yrs. Staff are amazing. Always helpful and polite. We enjoy the fact that its quiet and away from all the craziness of our everyday busy lives. Not the most elegant place, but comfortable and relaxing. Love it there.

The villa was amazing and the staff was very welcoming. Very clean, spacious and homey feeling.

Never again. I realize things break, but when the outlets in the living room dont work, the kitchen sink leaks bad, the thermostat is apparently disconnected and accepts no input from you and your constantly freezing, the hot tub doesnt work, wifi is always out and you call the office many times and just get ignored then theres a big problem with management. I wouldve given ZERO stars if I could. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Overall, a nice resort away from all the hustle android bustle. Rooms define show their age but otherwise OK. Ours room had all steam sauna but never got other working. Deadbolt also did NT work properly either. Only downgrading a star as the stay washed overall a solid one

They really need to upgrade the place.. I havent seen anyone yet to welcome us and it has been 2 days already. Inside the units the rooms are so close together, however The area is beautiful which is a plus.. This is really an endless mountain ... It takes forever to find a store or a supermarket so shop early

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Unbelievably beautiful, great staff, homey atmosphere. We especially enjoyed our trail ride on horseback!

This establishment needs to be updated. The cabins were falling apart. There were no noticeable signs from the road for the detoured roads. The WiFi was horrible my kids were miserable. The only highlight of this trip is the heating was excellent. They only received a 3 because my grandmom said she was happy with it.

The office staff is very polite and knowledgeable of the local area. Our room was much more spacious then expected! Having a full kitchen was nice. Were defiantly keeping it in mind when we visit Pennsylvania again.

So far, not a good experience. Arrived to find that the main road going into the resort was not plowed or salted. Since I dont have 4-wheel drive, I couldnt even get up to the place. I did call and the nice gentleman told me he wasnt sure why the road wasnt plowed and salted. We are skiing at Elk hoping that by 10 pm, we will be able to drive in. If not, guess I will leave my car at the bottom and well walk the suitcases to whereever the unit is.
